We attended a wake at this pub that was organised by our family. The food was well presented, tasty & plenty. They looked after us without any fuss. Nice choice of beers & spirits. It was a warm afternoon so it was handy to also sit outside in the early spring sunshine. Thank you.

Unfortunately this pub has appeared to slip a little though we have experienced unprecedented times lately and everyone and businesses are suffering it would appear it has its loyal locals, as a pub it generates great atmosphere. Was a bit confused with the chicken but I suppose you have to keep you overheads down to stay alive but compromising with food is always risky though the wife did enjoy her tika tower. The rest rooms realy need their attention.Our server Heidi was lovely could not have done any more, polite, pleasant and very helpful all that said its still worth a visit.

We stayed at the premier inn next door to the Queen Eleanor over the weekend whilst visiting family and Laura couldn’t of been more helpful at breakfast. She explained the 2 different menus as there’s 2 running at the same time but we decided to go with the hungry horse breakfast menu. We were spoilt for choice! Best breakfast we have all had as a family in a restaurant for a long time and it was really good value for money with amount of food you get on your plate as well!

I would normally give 5 stars, but recently the service and food hasn't been as good as previous. The past 2 times we have been, there hasn't been much on the menu and I've had bits missing from my plate. The food was always amazing and really well cooked, but recently its not been that great, peas rock hard or chips soggy.. and the peppercorn sauce cold (I know its microwaved anyway) The gents toilets need closing and a good look at the cisterns, pee/water all over the floor and the toilet bowls are not working.. this then causes a smell.. not nice.. Won't stop me going to the Eleanor, but it needs a good long look at itself with some TLC

Visited last night, booked as it was a Saturday night, you didn’t need too. SHORT STAFFED!!!! firstly, drinks order was wrong only 2 drinks!!! I opted for the SIZZLING Chicken skewers???? NOTHING SIZZLING about the dish!!! The cast plate that should baking hot? You could touch and pick up, chicken was not it’s usual rubbery consistency but not quite cooked enough. The corn on the cob wasn’t fitted with a stick to eat it, portion sizes were small. We also opted for a chicken burger, it was I suppose deep fried and put in a bun. The guy serving on the bar, was very verbal with his comments, served a lady who arrived after me and he used lots of constant F words during his conversations with other staff in the earshot of the customers, extremely professional…..Not. All in all far better than Sixfields Tavern and Poppyfields. Would we come back??? Yes if there wasn’t anywhere else to go. NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.

Today the Queen Eleanor excelled themselves.not only was the funeral tea they did for us was excellent and superb value for money. The staff were very helpful and supportive throughout. I highly recommend them and the staff with the quality service provided.

I have had bad experience in general with awfull bar staff before. But this time was different. I really liked food, cheap and cheerful it is. Service was good especially during Corona times. I would go back after my last meal there. That was one of the best meals I had in that kind of pubs.

Great value for money. Food comes out really quick (usually). Lunchtimes can get busy as lots of office based people come here. Recent menu changes include the addition of a delicious Roast Beef in Yorkshire pudding burrito, highly recommended.

Standard green king pub. Food was ordered from the app, arrived very quickly and the service was great. Staff lovely, friendly and attentive. Dined here alone as was staying in the Premier Inn, but felt very comfortable and looked after. 👌

So we all ordered our food separately at the bar and our of the group of about 20 we were the 1st as we had a toddler who was hungry and screaming . I ordered a mix grill and peppercorn sauce and 2 other meals . About 15 minutes late my peppercorn sauce arrived but no meal so I told a waitress after 10 minutes that my sauce is cold and where still waiting On food. She was brilliant very apologetic. 5 minutes later again sauce came out again no food. At this point our whole group are half way thru there meals. Came again on the 02-02 and food was perfect and staff were so helpful and attentive so have complety changed my mind on this place !

We had a weekend in the hotel and the pub for meals. Friday dinner then evening meal. Breakfast in the morning then food again later both days. Everytime we visit and stay it's fabulous. Unfortunately I was disappointed with staff this time. Not all but a few seem to wonder round aimlessly and when waiting to be served they just walk past ignoring you. I think one was a plump manager who obviously thinks she owns the place. However we know Caroline is the boss. But still a fantastic time eventhough I had a rant.

Quite a busy Saturday evening but still the service was quite quick, the staff very pleasant and attentive and the food of a consistently good quality. It is what it is. To be fair, it was a busy day, but it was a weekend and they're always really busy. Food was ok, not great, but it's not expensive either, so it levels out. Service wasn't great. No one was rude, but just apathatic. Like I say, it was a busy day and mid afternoon. I guess you get what you pay for. The place is nice, a little tired but fine, and the food was good.

Would be 4 stars but there was only one person serving which seemed a bit unfair considering there was quite a few family's ordering. The service wasn't very good before ordering but after ordering service was fine. The food was average, the portions were quite small, and the toast was burnt and didn't taste nice, the place wasn't very clean and the whole facility was a bit run-down. Came as a party of 6, and to be perfectly honest I cannot complain. The only criticism would be that the staff seemed a little bit like they didn't want to be there and it took a while to get anyone's attention, but in all fairness to them they had clearly been working a long shift and it was quite busy, so for the circumstances they were very friendly and helpful! A lot of items that were on the menu weren't available but due to the current pandemic a lot of places have had shortages so this wasn't an issue at all just may have been a bit helpful to know what's not available before hand, however it was busy as previously mentioned. The food was very nice and decent portion sizes. Medium rare steak was beautifully moist and tender. Chips were light and crispy on the outside and not too heavy which is how you want them and all the food was still hot when it arrived which is exactly what you want. Overall a great experience and will definitely be returning soon as!

Last visit they had considerable issues with supply and a broken grill, so many meals not available but service was really good and we managed to find meals that we could eat but also forced us to try things perhaps wouldn't normally order and food was good

Very clean, staff were absolutely top notch. The 3 rating is really for the food, which was basic. I ordered American chicken, the chicken breast was cooked well and was moist, a layer of bacon and cheese where there, nothing special. The barbecue sauce was added on top rather than being part of the dish. The ingredients didn't taste like they had been cooked together, more layered in a dish and served. My partner ordered the mixed grill with a lemon and herb sauce, this tasted awful, not balanced, really really needs re-thinking.

Good quality food at good prices. A decent menu that even has a few vegetarian options (good for me!). The only thing that sometimes lets this place down is the service. Last visit we were served straight away, food was all out within 10 minutes, but then we were waiting over half an hour after we had all finished, for our table to be cleared and the deserts to be brought out - which had already been paid for. Strangely inconsistent. Well worth a visit, but be prepared to chase your serving staff sometimes.

Went here recently for a meal in a post-COVID-19 world. The establishment was ensuring that people had used the NHS test and trace app on arrival and other appropriate measures had been taken to reduce the spread of the virus. Seated, we looked at the menu and saw that there was a wide variety of drinks to suit everyone's taste also the menu was very large and you were encouraged to customise your order to how you like it. All of the food was incredibly cheap and good value for money. Once the food has arrived we all tucked in and found it to be of a satisfactory quality but some of the food felt quite greasy. Nothing special then! We paid quickly and then left. Overall the food was ok, the service was quick, the atmosphere was totally average, the price was excellent. Good for a quick meal

We were staying at the Premier Inn next door. The staff here went out of their way to accommodate our group. They even reserved and set up breakfast tables for us. We had lots of different requests and diets but it really didnt faze the staff. The main meals were pub meals and what you would expect in such a pub chain. Breakfast is well worth it. As much as you can eat and drink for under a tenner.

Lovely friendly service so great to see them following all the safety guidelines and still giving high quality customer service. All the staff were super attentive and couldn't do enough for you. Place has been adapted Covid friendly. Bring your babies too the beer garden has a play area that frankly isn't put to much use. Plenty of run around area for the little ones too. Have a behaved dog? I think they are welcome in the garden too.

I have problems with anything I.T .... Soo I called and got speaking with a lovely lady called Caroline, who, as it works out ...was the Manager. She was sooo nice/polite and also booked my table for me (under a heater light!) WOW!! I'm soo looking forward to meeting her. 5 stars .. for Caroline alone!!! Why aren't Manager's like Caroline in existence anymore???

Waited for the "refurb" with some excitement .. sad.. but the menu has changed some different food items that look interesting. Desserts look fun but service was so slow. However the staff were very helpful and friendly. That makes up for a lot. Looks more homely now and is an ideal summer pub with the outdoor play area. Some good offers on food I had chicken and rice .. on a 2 for 8.99 offer it was OK I'd say value for money. More chicken than expected and fragrant rice. But always same old pie ..fish.. sausage etc on offer menu Kids menu bit more interesting than usual. So pleasant wed eve meal made better by staff especially a very lovely lady called Amy who went above and beyond . Make sure u hang on to her !!!

I took my 3 grandchildren today and we had the burger meal deal for £15. I wasnt sure it was going to be enough food for 3 adults and 2 children, but it was more than enough 😁 8 mixed burgers, 4 corn on the cob, chips, beans and onion ring stack, followed by a gimormous sharing dessert which easily fed 5. I am super impressed, kids loved it and we fed 5 for £15 😁😁😁 would highly recommend this for anyone looking for somewhere to take the kids and not spend a complete fortune. It's a hungry Horse, you def get what you pay for. Mid range price, most things deep fried, large portions. If on a low budget its a good place for a large plate full. We had a large party and two course plus drinks and it only came to £15 per head so really can't complain.

We went here with a large party for Mothers' Day. The service was very good, the prices are excellent and the food is great. It's a lovely place to go with kids on a sunny day, as they have a lovely play area in the large garden. Will definitely go again.

The Queen Eleanor is part of the "Hungry Horse" chain, so you get the huge and somewhat incomprehensible menu containing generic chain pub food at reasonable prices. Our food arrived quickly and was fairly well presented, but we never seemed to see the same serving staff twice. On the down side, you also get the tendency to be busy and understaffed at peak times.But at least with this one, you don't get ubiquitous distracting TV screens and there is a clear separation between the rowdy family party area and a more peaceful section for quieter dining. The building has obviously been through different styles - what was once an imposing double-door entrance is now the rear, opening on to a staff car park and smokers' area. The current entrance is round the corner in the newer part of the building and the car park seems to ramble around the site so it's not always easy to find the way in to the pub, or the entrance to the nearby hotel.

I was part of a group of ten staying at the Premier Inn next door, the evening meal where good both in presentation and value for money. The breakfast day one, no porridge left, day two only apples for fresh fruit, no fruit salad, no Greek yogurt just fruit ones, still no porridge at £7.50 for Continental breakfast & £9.50 for a full breakfast, this is abysmal. I would point out there is a Tesco and Waitrose within walking distance where all these items could be replenished. We won't bother tomorrow! Part two (11 Jan) despite the manager promising to get back to me, when I phone it gets cut off, and three emails, we are no closer to resolving this issue!

That's when the lady then said to me, Oh I will let the manager know about it, they can send the report to the farmer or those that supplies their burger, she wasn't nice😠. The attached was the bone inside the burger that nearly cracked my tooth. I was scared😳. There were many of them but I was able to fish this out of my tooth☹
