A. J.What a great pub!
Slightly biased review insofar as I saw Album Chart band The Lottery Winners play in the back room with the superb @MaddoxJones in support, but great nonetheless.
Real ales, craft beers and real ciders sold alongside the rather pedestrian mainstream boring lagers and fizzy ciders make for a wide choice of drinks. Quirky entertainment includes a fairground style crane-grab machine and a retro pinball machine. Staff were friendly and prices reasonable.
Oh, did I mention @TheLotteryWinners ? Superb band in a wonderfully small, but well laid out venue.
The rear beer garden is very impressive too!
S. B.I've been coming here for over 20 years. Great place. Ash and Sarah are amazing!! The venue have really good live acts in the back room. Really relaxed atmosphere, great music and garden is amazing in the summer and even had vinyl pop up sales too!! Love Dean the doorman too of whom ensures we are all safe!!

The only negative for me is they've replaced half their hand pumps with fizzy stuff
S. K.Inside the bar area is fairly small but the rooms at the back have and do host some of the best local rock groups about, and the odd larger name too. Outside at the back the gardens are huge, I mean very very big. Nice to sit out there at night, plenty of space for everyone. One of Northampton's best known pubs.

S. S. T.5 stars are not for the Decor or the other elements so.w may use to rate a public house. It is for the awesome efforts to provide ongoing facility where as always, Everyone remains welcome. A diverse community heart runs through it, honouring the vast amount of historic footsteps that must of passed through here. Keep up the good work x
P. F.Quick drink in the garden with the family as we were entices in by live music heard from the nearby carpark. Large covered outdoor space meant we didn't need to worry if the heavens opened.

The air of a traditional pub, but is more a rock bar. Music is great, the atmosphere is great. What more can I say.
D. M.The ambiance was a lacking but what it lacked in finesse it made up in cheapness!
The beer garden was massive and would be amazing in summer. The outside music was "interesting" as the night progressed from YMCA then metal to dubstep/trance/electronica. If you don't have an eclectic taste in music it might not be for you.
Remember to take plenty of warm clothes as the weather gets colder (if you will be sitting outside. it's not sheltered from the wind although it kept us dry from the rain.
All in all its not a bad place for a super cheap drink in a inner city/town.
G. D.Loads of interesting beers on and a comfortable atmosphere, really big and tidy garden (nothing like the Racehorse days). Some interesting band nights on in the back room which is also good. Staff generally very friendly although there is one bar staff which seems to like to shout rather than talk to the customers! She is nice though and a good pub.

10-15 years ago the Racehorse used to be a really good pub with good beer, bands in the back room and a good crowd. Glad someone's making an effort.
