Visited The Fish for the first time a few weeks ago whilst out shopping for the day with a friend. Had seen their posts on Instagram and the food looked good so we thought we'd give it a try. Well I must say if you haven't had lunch in here yet then you need to!! I had the special that day which was a Philly cheese steak ciabatta with garlic fries and my friend picked 3 dishes from the small plate menu for £10. Wow! Don't get me wrong, my meal was delicious, but I was very jealous of her food when it came out. The fish goujins are the best I've ever had and they certainly don't skimp on the portions. The lady working the bar was really lovely too. Chatty and friendly, everything you need in town centre pub. Also anywhere that sells Old J Cherry Spiced Rum is a winner in my book! Will be back again soon!

Brilliant pub since new manager, Biaba, (know wrong spelling of her name took over 😂) a couple of years ago. All the staff are just amazing, and can’t do enough! Reece, Colin (chef) Becky, young Hayley etc etc. Sunday roasts are also recommended 👏.

Exceptional food, we really couldn’t fault it. Everyone very satisfied with their meals, and at a reasonable price too. The buttermilk chicken burger with extra avocado and jalapeños was a winner. If on a Sunday, the mega sharing roast looked incredible.

The Fish is known to most Northamptonians. It stands in Fish Street which is a busy thorougfare (no cars) with coffee shops one side and The Fish pub on the other with a noodle bar and a small coffee shop. They tried to change its name but everyone always said "See you in The Fish", so eventually they changed its name back. Table and chairs outside for people watching. Typical pub inside. Lively with TVs for sport. Friendly staff. Just love the place.

Struggled to find a good Sunday dinner after 5pm in Northampton, just happened to see that they were still serving so we popped in. The staff were lovely, we got a little table in the corner away from the bar and were pleasantly surprised that a roast was just over £10. Got the food and it was lovely! One of the best Sunday dinners I've had in ages, will definitely go back!

I was pleasantly surprised with the cost of my drinks, which does not often happen. I am a G&T explorer and they had a number of different gins and tonics, with varying flavours to choose from. They had separate stalls that seated 4 and which were situated next to the window. As well as other different seating areas.

Cracking bar, the staff are brilliant, they seem to be having great craic behind the bar. A load of choice on the drinks front, plenty of places to park yourself for a few, and some nice little snug areas. We'll worth an hour or 2

I decided to pop into the fish today (may 24th) for a quick drink, and to get out of the rain, and ended up spending all day. The staff are amazing and are extremely knowledgeable about the drinks. As someone who's not been there before, I felt so welcomed, and was involved in conversations with other customers and staff, the manager is amazing, and if I lived in Northampton, it would definitely be my local!

Had a wonderful meal here on Friday evening to celebrate grades and watch the football. The food was amazing and atmosphere lovely. The place was spotless, had great selection of drinks and had stunning decor. Highly recommend and will be returning here. Hidden gem!

Food excellent. Hot and plentiful. It is a shame and probably not the law that this establishment does not accept Scottish or Irish money. I was left a little embarrassed, angry, with no support . Surely English notes get copied? Why did the bar not have the special pen / scanner that most shops have ? Not a great experience.

The Market Tavern, Northamptonshire, United Kingdom. Walked past this venue a few times, thinking that's a nice place. Today I'm having lunch. To say I'm fussy is an understatement. However, within 5 minutes of being inside, my mind was relaxed by a very welcoming and polite young man. Surrounded by an impeccably clean Pub, I ordered a pint and headed to the rest room. That way I know if I will be eating here. I've ordered Food! This is the pause while I wait. I've chose to review this way, as I am suitabley impressed. Lunch arrives... Fantastic Food, I ordered the Cod Chunk. No further comments. Visit this venue and enjoy. Regarding drinks, a very fine offer is available. If Gin is the new black, well your going to be happy. The welcoming Gent I met on arrival is new and a fine asset. Since my arrival, I've met Perry and Colin to complement 2 fine Chef's on an incredible meal. I don't want to spoil anything, I'd like you to read this and visit. 10/10 for everything about this place.

I've been there for a coffee and an English breakfast in the morning, and the food is good. Although not the best in town, definitely worth a visit. They have a decent selection of drinks and all you would expect from your typical pub. Prices were not amazing and it didn't really have anything special, so just 3 stars from me.
