Great pub. The burger was amazing. Was nice to see an ale on tap that wasn't Punk IPA or Neck Oil like every other bloody pub seems to have these days. Highly recommend for a relaxing pint in the sun, a catch up with a mate, or just to shoot the breeze with the lady that runs it.

Called in today on our mid ride cafe stop. Parked our bikes securely out the back and sat on the tables out the front of the pub. Service was very good and not long after ordering our food and drink was being brought out. Free refills on the tea and coffee too it appears. First time visit for me and look forward to going again.

Excellent atmosphere and a friendly, accommodating landlady who has worked hard to get the pub back on it's feet after being closed for around 18 months. Highly recommend and well worth a visit. Tasty Sunday lunch and midweek food starting on 4th March.

Great to see this hostelry open again. Reserve table recommended. Beautiful surroundings enhanced by a happy smiley service. Range of food exceptional, from roast dinners to high tea. Definitely be returning and highly tecommended after a walk round the picturesque village.

My first visit to meet up with some friends. The general appearance is welcoming and clean and the offerings at the bar tempting. The owner voluntarily laid out some nachos with cheese and some bowls of home made cauliflower cheese to those who accepted the invitation. This was a generous and sensible strategy to drum up future custom. Pricewise a bit higher than some other local establishments. Definitely worth a return visit.

Challenge accepted! Anne has done a great job in re-opening a seemingly lost community asset after the pub had been closed for a period of around 18 months. Coupled with challenges posed by COVID-19 and the fluctuating economy it was never going to be easy feat. The pub is now a freehold, meaning there's more individuality in the selection of ales and lagers like NBC's Phipps than other pubs which is nice. Give it a try! Support Local!

I love this place the food is lovely but it is understaffed we booked a table for 7.30 and didn't eat until 9 I think if they are short staffed they should warn customers or book less covers

Amazing food. Had the venison hot pot myself and loved it. Others had the fish and chips and they were also of note. Decent beer/cider/stout selection on tap. Well stocked bar with a variety of unusual spirits. Highly recommend.

This pub has recently changed hands and the menu is different, just basic pub food now. I had the gammon which I could not complain about and the chips were lovely. However my husband had fish and chips, which the pub previously had a good reputation for, however he said the fish was awful, obviously from frozen and in breadcrumbs and tasteless. Such a shame to cut corners and risk losing custom. We will have to find another village pub now as my husband won't be going back.

What a wonderful place to eat, drink and enjoy terrific company. Lovely food great choice of beers, but mostly the food. My fish and chips were truely amazing, the steaks the two ladies had were cooked to perfection and the chicken was melt in your mouth. Thank you grendon half moon a most enjoyable experience, we will be back.

This is a great country pub and delighted my American relatives. It looks and feels like a country pub. The food is amazing. The club also supports the local cricket club. It's a great way to round off the evening after a game for everyone involved in the match

Hi We are a small village pub that cooks 95% of our meals fresh. We do not take walkins of 9 or more unless booked. So please to avoid disappointment be nice and book. Bad reviews because we would not serve u is just silly and unprofessional. The Halfmoon

I walked there from the next village and was greeted by friendly staff and refreshing drinks and to top it off the bar tender gave myself and my friend some free chips so absolutely amazing service and staff. I love this place and have had find memories from coming here as a young child for family events and dinners out. It has a great atmosphere and traditional decor which fits beautifully with the idyllic village it is situated in.

Great food and staff, all the food is reasonably priced. The half moon has a great range of food, I recommend the crayfish and avacodo salad 10 out of 10. If you're passing by you should pop in for some good food and great company.
