Excellent experience. Walked in at 14:52 when the kitchen was closing at 15:00 and they were more than happy to take our order anyway. Speed of service was excellent. We'd only been sat down for 10 minutes and the food was with us. Lovely garden area too. Amazing no nonsense food at a reasonable price. We will definitely be back soon. Thank you to all the staff. It's great to see a small independent pub deliver such excellent service.

Well, what can I say. This pub is superb. We travel all over the UK for work and we booked a table for this eve and also told there was a quiz night too. We had a blast of an evening, excellent food lovely staff and a great quizmaster. Made us feel very welcome and to be honest one of the best evenings we have had for ages. I can't rate this place high enough, if you are in the area its a must and if its Tuesday quiz night you will have a fantastic evening. Well done and thank you to everyone this evening

So nice to find traditional pub food and drink instead of "gastro" nonsense. The first place that has served normal food in so long searching, that even our fussy toddler was happy with it. Also, very good portions and value for money. Staff are lovely and helpful, even when really busy. Service was quick and atmosphere welcoming. Garden is lovely with a well equipped safe play area for kids and huge lawn. Dog friendly.

A large pub, with lots of outdoor seating. The food on offer is traditional. Staff are helpful but it's a pity that you have to order food from the bar, which takes a while if there's a queue for drinks.

Absolutely a wonderful place. Very homely. Took our cousin for her birthday on Tuesday. Quiz night was on too. Staff brought the birthday cake to make it a surprise, quizmaster played music over the speakers and everyone joined in. Birthday girl was thrilled. Food was great, reasonably priced too. Caesar salad was awful!!! Drowning in sauce, no seasoning on chicken. Bell peppers? which don’t belong in a Caesar salad. Ice berg lettuce??? Plus no soft boiled egg… Very disappointing!!!

After waiting in a long queue for food, my daughter was informed that they were no longer serving, no explanation given, I am a diabetic and was close to an hypo, luckily I had some glucose sweets with me which allowed me to find somewhere else to eat. Not good 😂😂.

Booked a table for extended family (14 of us). On the day they were suddenly very busy due to a local event. This meant ordering was a little slow, but more staff were called in. The food came quite quickly after ordering. It was enjoyed by everyone (including the children) with no complaints. My husband had the gammon which can sometimes be over cooked. He said it was cooked to perfection. We will return.

A cosy pub with a nice mix of classic and modern decor. Food is good with sensible portion sizes at a fair price, but a few small tweeks could push the standard even higher. I had my meal lunchtime weds and at 2pm the staff look a little rushed due to the influx of customers. Eating times look to be 12-3pm and 6-9pm. Staff were both friendly and efficient. All in all a good luck in a nice pub with good garden and large carpark.

Stopped at this pub/restaurant tonight. It has a lovely atmosphere. The staff were smiling and friendly. All areas were clean and tidy including the toilets. The food ordered was bought along in good time and the quality was outstanding. Really good portion sizes and everything was hot and very fresh. There is a play area for children and a nice pub garden. Ample parking spaces too.

Met some friends for a Sunday lunch at 13:00 we got our own drinks from the bar and sat down for the meal, the starters were lovely and the staff were lovely but sadly the Sunday lunch took along time to arrive it was over an hour from our starters to get our main meal and sadly we felt it wasn't worth the wait, the veg was cold and rubbery and the Yorkshire was burnt , by this time we were so hungry and no one came to check if the meal was OK so we just ate it, well not the burnt Yorkshire , the waitress was apologetic when we complained, I assumed they were under Staffed and I am sure its not always like this, but as the first time we ever visited it will sadly be also our last. There is a play area for the kids and looks like it was dog friendly in the beer garden. So might be a good place for a drink and let the kids play during summer.

Great staff service for a special occasion such as a birthday. The sweets are brilliant value in the week less so at weekend. Service is good and attentive. The food according to our table average on this visit. Starters were on the small side as were the main meals leaving us slightly dismayed, as normally this restaurant is 5 stars.However I appreciate some days are slightly different and next time we visit it may well get it's 5 stars back(from me). The atmosphere is always good and the staff very welcoming so do try as it's a great place for special occasions. My wife visits in the week and raves about this place especially the food so maybe we caught a rare off day .It certainly is worth trying so please do go and check for yourself.

Havent been here since b4 "Covid" time...absolute gem.....spotlessly clean and welcoming with correct and discreet Covid regulations....atmosphere had a lovely lunchtime buzz, food was gorgeous with excellent choices for all budgets. We have drove past several times, my wife noticed the Golden Years 2 for £10 Monday to Friday lunchtime. Went in today to try them out, excellent service from Tony the bar manager. 👏 The pub had a great ambience, an extensive garden with play area. Were we impressed?? Lovely outdoor seating area and play area for children. Indoor restaurant is comfortable and homely. Sunday dinner is the best that I have had for a long time. Two thick pieces of beef perfectly cooked veg and lovely yorkshire pudding and good gravy. It was a pleasant surprise to receive roast parsnips, but unfortunately they were under cooked. Reasonable prices, pleasant Staff and efficient service. Would defiantly recommend this restaurant

A superb local pub with a warm and friendly welcome from Happy helpful staff. Located in Sywell it is easily accessible by road and well worth a visit. Prices are reasonable and there is a good variety off lagers, beers and ciders.

the pub was about 7 out of 10 . the food was 8 out of 10. the manager was 2 out of ten . by telling his customers that they had ran out of beer he was turning away his customers all because he was to stressed to go and change a barrel. in three nights we the members of our group of friends put £600 over that bar for food and drinks. it was his attitude which put a lot of people off and they went elsewhere.
