Lovely place for food and drink. We went in for Sunday roast. Good choice of roasts. Beef, chicken, pork, nut and even turkey. Staff were very friendly and helpful, providing extra gravy with the main course and an additional scoop of ice cream on our desserts. We also managed a cheeky little Espresso Martini, which was amazing. Highly recommended.

Having attended a venue near to Northampton, I searched up a place for Sunday lunch, and based on reviews decided on The Lamplighter. The reviews are justified, the pub is lovely and has loads of character, some places have a vibe and atmosphere this is one such place. The staff were very pleasant and attentive, but not intrusive, when asked a question abut ciders it was answered with knowledge. The five of us had roast dinners, pork, beef, gammon and a nut roast. The food was sublime, everything cooked nicely and presented beautifully. Furthermore I belive The Lamplighter was excellent value for money, not cheap, but not silly gastro pub prices that are nearing £20 for some stringy beef. It was a 45 minute journey home for me and I have to say I would make the drive for food like this. Thank you to the staff and owners for doing so well.

What an unexpected delight! We wanted a dog friendly pub in Northampton at short notice, and this was perfect! Although not in the, shall we say, "poshest" area of Northampton, the pub is superbly presented, with a lovely open and large bar area, with plenty of tables, and well behaved dogs are welcome. The food was delicious. We both had a superb pie and mash - steak & ale and ham hock, chicken & leek, followed by sumptuous desserts. To make it even better there's a good selection of craft beers - I had a pint of Plumptiousness, which was excellent. And to top it all off, they even cooked a couple of sausages for us to give our pup. Super friendly staff, clean and well appointed - absolutely faultless from start to finish 😍

The first thing that stands out is the service. Everyone is so helpful and there is warm and friendly feel to the Lamplighter. The food is presented well and is delicious too. If you can manage a pudding, the sticky toffee pudding with salted caramel sauce is a winner. Been here a couple of times for food and they never disappoint. If you want a good meal in a family friendly environment then this is the place to come!!

Amazing time on Saturday night. Dj was just astonishing!!!! Played great tunes so literally there was noone to just stand. All night long we were all dancing, don't want to spare time to drink, however need to mention they have brilliant staff too! 👏

Lovely atmosphere and wonderful food. Would definitely go again. Just slightly slow service which let them down a little. However the staff were polite and friendly so still and enjoyable evening. They also made space for our buggy which was good. Parking is not great at the pub itself. I would definitely recommend parking in the multi storey and walking the minute or so to the venue to save the hassle.

Great Sunday lunch. Parking close by is hard to come by, but outside permit only parking times its easy to find street parking- so Sunday is a good time unless you are local and know where to park.

Tables crammed together in a busy pub, kept getting random peoples elbows in my face. Music blaringly loud so couldn't hear the person I was eating with. Food was lovely (wish I'd asked for extra gravy). Server seemed very friendly. You should ask to sit upstairs if you are eating as they seemed to have a dining room up there which I think only had larger tables in but looked much more peaceful.

A Sunday Lunch Institution which is more than worth a visit at any other time of the week. Firstly, the best staff, all so friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. Been going to The Lamp for nearly 20 years. It’s the only pub in Northampton worth visiting if you want good food, fine ales, real music (live and dj’s). Pete the owner has done an amazing job since he took it over. Always a warm welcome and friendly smile. Amazing pub. Came here for a relatives birthday meal and was pleasantly surprised. Great atmosphere, friendly staff and an absolutely amazing selection of beers (including a lot that I had never had before, which is difficult to achieve as an untappd veteran) and the Sunday roast was great. Loved this pub. Food was really excellent and even with a big group of us (10 people) they were really good at getting food to us quickly. The parking in the area was a bit sketchy but the multi story nearby was not too far away.

A pub that ticks all the boxes! I came here with colleagues for an early Christmas dinner and we had a great time. It's not huge inside but there is an upstairs area should you need more seating. The vegan Christmas dinner options were excellent and I definitely don't feel that I missed out with a 'lesser' meal. The mushroom soup packed a great wallop of flavour and I enjoyed the crispy roast potatoes with my main. All followed by a lovely brownie with non-dairy ice cream for dessert. The service was well-timed and staff were friendly during our visit. I was impressed by the excellent beer selection: I could see about five guest taps or so, alongside regular craft brews. They have the Maule Wonder Pale Ale on tap, to boot! Prices are a little high but beer for me these days is much more about quality than quantity. If you need to park nearby over Christmas, I'd give St Michael's a miss. They've closed off one of the exits due to roadworks and it's a pain to get out around rush hour. Either chance it with street parking or walk from Campbell's Square.

I had the nut roast which was really succulent and all the vegetables which included broccoli red cabbage, peas, carrots and cabbage were cooking perfectly. Particularly pleasing was the presentation and size of the roast which was just right.

Been to this pub a few times, a very in depth pub quiz on Wednesdays and lots of nice beers on. Gets very busy Fridays and Saturdays but this is because it is a good pub. Has regular gigs and open mic nights which are usually of quite a high quality. Would recommend.

I was here seeing one of my friends bands play, it was a great night. The room where they were playing was upstairs so no disabled access, and there weren't any signs highlighting an upstairs function room so I missed the first few minutes of the set. Decent choice of drinks on tap. Well sized smoking area. From what I recall the toilets were also upstairs.

A lovely suprise! From the oitside and surrounding area, i did not think that this place would be up to much, but how very wrong was I! Staff were friendly and helpful, service was quick, and the food was really good!! My only critism was that it was rather warm inside, that said, it was very muggy outside, but the addition of fans or air con would have nade things a little more comfortable, or at the very least having the front external and internal doors propped open.
