Amazing place, staff are so friendly and accommodating. Amy and Andy are so welcoming and friendly. My Mom used a wheelchair as has limited mobility and they were so kind to help my Mom get an easy and accessible route into the pub. The food tasted so lovely, well presented and is good quality food. Service was quick and efficient. Will definitely come here again and recommend to others. Thank you 😀

We've been here several times now over the last year or so and came again last night with family. The food never disappoints and is just unbelievably delicious and great size portions. Staff are polite, attentive and friendly, can bring our dog.....just ticks every box. Love this place ❤️ ✅️✅️✅️✅️

Love this place as its half way between London and the Midlands and not far off m1 so great pleace for me and my family to meet half way. The food is great. Not the biggest choice of vegetarian and vegan but what they have is tasty. Staff friendly and situated in a quiet village in the country. Well worth and 1 hour's drive to get there.

Had a pleasant outdoor Sunday roast despite the rain. Marquee and tents protected us well from the rain. No heating in tents. Not sure about marquee. Service was fair to good and probably would have been better in fairer weather. Orders placed on line. Food quality again was good, not outstanding. A good place to go during restrictions. Children’s play equipment nearby and in sight. Friends said that they have never had a bad meal here.

Good large car park level access great covid protocols plenty of outside space and space under cover kids play area in sight nearby. Lovely pub, great service and great food. The manager Andy greeted us, making us feel very welcome. The rest of the staff were all really friendly and very welcoming too. They have a good selection of food on the menu and drinks at the bar. The beer garden has been recently done up and renovated so it's a really nice space to relax in, along with getting some sunshine throughout the whole day (if the weather is good). There is plenty of space if you have children, along with a good play area with things for them to play on and they also welcome dogs in the garden too. We will definitely be visiting there again.

I have always wanted to visit the Old Crown. My family have lived in Ashton for many years, and today after a visit to see them I took my wife and two younger children. A very pleasant pub with a nice little play area for the younger children. The service and food was excellent and very reasonably priced. We had the pork roast and can honestly say I have not had such a tasty roast from a pub for a very long time. Thank you to the staff and the chef. We will see you again Tom de Boer

The takeaway Sunday roast beef was absolutely delicious, beautifully cooked. Did not think anyone could match my wife's Sunday dinner but they did ! Plenty of fresh veg , potatoes just right and beef was melt in the mouth . Cheesecake desert ...wow lovely .

Although a little out of the way, it's absolutely worth the journey. A country pub with a large outside seating area both front and back. There is also free parking. The staff are very engaging and service second to none. The chef and owner, Andy, has amazing dishes on the menu that are delicious with generous portions and well priced. This has become my go-to place and I'm becoming quiet the regular! I wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

Took the kids there after a visit to rookery farm. Staff was very polite and couldn’t be more helpful. Bang in the middle of the charming village of Ashton this pub appears underwhelming at first - indeed, we thought it had been over taken by the local scout hall! However, once you've parked in the spacious carpark, taken a moment to survey the large and facility packed garden then a warm welcome awaits There is wood burner on the restaurant side of the building though unfortunately it wasn't lit when we arrived. Staff were friendly and helpful, offering a good selection of drinks for all tastes. The only draw back is the lack of cosy booths but this place is clearly making good food it's focus/main selling point and that's fine. Other than that, it was clean, tidy and spacious

Stepping out in the chilly carpark and seeing the reassuring outline of a traditional English pub, and sensing a great evening ahead, I made my way with friends into the warm and welcoming bar. Our excellent food, the friendly, efficient service and the toothsome, but rarely available, draught Director's Bitter restored our faith in this quintessential institution and helped to alleviate the pain we feel for the loss of our once vibrant Greyhound, another potential victim of the grim developer.
