A. S.It was the first time we had visited this pub restaurant. We didn't book, we just walked in and was seated straight away.
They were very short staffed so had to wait a long time for our meal.
My Husband had the mixed grill and it looked huge, even though it wasn't the XL large one.
Mine was Enchiladas, they were nice.

Organised a meal for our ladies football team last week. Being a large party nothing was too much and the staff were really helpful during the planning stage. As per any event we had last minute changes and again the staff were really supportive.

a.I am a very regular customer at the Walter Tull and absolutely love my time there; primarily due to the warm, friendly and welcoming qualities of the fantastic staff.
However, my only gripe is that there is very little on offer for vegans. Literally two options: the vegan fish and chips and the mushroom pie. Neither of which are spectacular. I have been informed that the vegan burger option has been withdrawn as it failed to meet quality standards, which is all well, but nothing has been instated as a replacement. The previous menu's chick pea and red pepper burgers were great - it's a shame they can't come back.
Limited menu aside, it is still a fantastic place to spend an evening and would highly recommend.

J. S.Have to say wasn't expecting much having eaten at the lumbertubs (same chain) but was pleasantly surprised. Food was awesome, ordered 2 of the challenges between 3 of us and ended up taking enough home for tea too! Tony the duty manager couldnt do enough and was really friendly (even if he had a smirk as I ordered my food, he must have realised how much i was ordering! Lol) all the other staff had a smile on their face, it was a really pleasant lunch out, shall definatley be returning! Great value, great food & great service!

P. S.Its was good, the food was lush! Sometimes the service can be a little slow but it's nothing major. Definitely recommend the burgers! However would stay away from the pitchers (cocktail jugs) they are filled with ice.

A. D.Amazing service! We went in as a party of two adults and two children (7&8). Firstly we were made to feel incredibly comfortable, we hadn't booked but were seated where we wanted to be, had table service, the young waitress was great, we took advantage of the kids eat for a pound offer, when brought with an adults meal. I had mac and cheese with salad, the salad was a bit off but it wasn't a problem. The lady who I presume is the manager (tall, slim with short blonde hair) was great and clearly loves her job. We shall definitely return! 💎

N. B.The food and drink are good and the decor is nice. Its always been a clean place to go the friendly service. Always seems to be hardly anyone in there (when I've been is it been like one or 2 other people). I do wonder if its because of the prices. Like I said before it is good but not as good as the prices suggest.

C.Food was really nice, pudding was a bit of a downer as they had no strawberries for the Eton mess and wasn't offered anything in it's place fruit wise so it just ended up being ice cream and meringue, atmosphere was nice but the table behind us let there child run round like we wernt in the middle of an epidemic and I had to tell her to stay away from my kids as my son is disabled and vulnerable so I think that needs a bit more policing. Other than that it was good main was worth the money pudding wasn't.

S. H.We arrived on the 17th October, we had not booked a table. The lady on reception told us they were full. Its 18.00 in the evening, there were two cars in the car park. There were just 2 of us, I am sure she could have given us a table as the pub would not all have been full at the same time. I have owned and ran my own pubs, you should never turn a customer away unless you absolutely rammed.
We went down the road had a nice meal and drinks, cost £50. Your loss, we will not be coming back again.

P. S.The food was amazing once it arrived. Group of 35, pre ordered earlier in the week. But the food came in dribs and drabs. It’s a real shame as everyone commented on how lovely the food was. They just need to sort there staffing issues out and get the orders sorted. Wouldn’t put me off from going back, but just hope the new management can get it sorted.

A.Very clean and covid friendly, we filled in our covid screening application which was simple to do before entering, you wear a mask whilst standing or moving about but when you are seated you can remove the mask to enjoy your drink or food, we opted for two eating challenges which was well worth the money, the staff were helpful and egged and cheered you on during the eating challenge, they made sure the food was to perfection 5 minutes into eating and halfway through, I liked this personal touch as you get meals which you don't enjoy, well Walter Tull staff you can pat yourselves on the back as you all done really well, 28 minutes this time next time I will try to do beat my time.

E. F.The food was nice but the back room where you eat is extremely cold. Wouldn't recommend it unless you want to smoke as there's a fire door or want to eat with your jacket on. There was loads of tables which weren't cleared as well and it wasn't busy so had to look around for a clear table. But rhe staff are perfectly friendly

S.Went here last week with my brother we ordered the fully loaded chicken strips, chicken New Yorker with mash, onion ring stacker and 2 sides of mac and cheese, didn't wait too long for food but when it came out the New Yorker was dry and the mash was hard obviously microwaved, chicken strips was nice but once gotten to the bottom found that chips were stuck to the paper onion rings were soggy but the mac and cheese was fine drinks weren't overly priced. The dessert we ordered to share had way too much whipped cream. Staff was friendly but a bit slow and waited about 20 minutes for the plates cleared before we could get our dessert

D. P.Been coming here for several years now on and off and the food is always delicious and well cooked. Sadly however it's often let down by poor service at the bar and very long waits for the food to arrive - not what you'd expect from a pub restaurant of this calibre. Often has waits of 45 minutes or more, even when it doesn't seem particularly busy.
With the sixfields hungry house recently reopening next door I expected them to up their game to compete, but it seems nothing has changed.

S. Y.If you are looking for a bite to eat, a beer whilst watching the football then this is a great place to come. Huge selection of food from the menu, lots of beer choice at the bar and loads of space to sit or stand. I had a cheese burger with waffle fries followed by the cherry bakewell pie, all of which were very good. The service was excellent, friendly and with a smile. We would recommend if you are looking for somewhere pre-football (Northampton Town) or the cinema.

Also located in Sixfields so a lot of entertainment around if you're looking for a day out; good atmosphere and regularly show sky sports football on their big TV's if you're into that sort of thing.
