Reviews of Wooden Walls Of Old England

This was just the best place to meet up with my family from opposite ends of the M1 and celebrate my daughter’s birthday. Amy reserved and decorated the room for us. The staff were so friendly and accommodating especially with my grandchildren. We chose Sunday lunch which was delicious and plentiful. Everyone had their choice of drinks including tea and coffee with the birthday cake. Can’t wait to visit again in the near future. Thank you Amy and the team.

We can't wait to come back and visit this lovely pub. We recently visited for drinks after not long moving to the area. We absolutely adored the family run friendly setup and heartfelt welcome we received. Drinks or food, you will not be disappointed.

Funny, friendly staff and a great place to eat.

Had a lovely Sunday lunch for mothersday. Service was wonderful what a friendly place to go and delicious food. 😋 Outdoor heaters cute family garden and a jazz singer made for a great atmosphere. Thankyou to staff for a fabulous lunch

Superb welcoming pub. Started visiting over a year ago before moving to the area. Made my family and friends feel very welcome. Unique and cosy English pub feel with great atmosphere. Since moving to the area we come visit regularly and they have fantastic events, do lots for charity, great food and service. We love our new local. Martyn and Amy are a credit to the community #teamwoodenwalls

Couldn't of asked for a better setting for my husbands 'non' Party 40th Party. He wanted chilled drinks with friends and family and for somwhere the kids could be kids and enjoy themselves and that's what we got. For a busy Saturday service was super, Amy and her husband were brilliant. So accommodating and so easy to book and organise things. Thanks for making my husbands 40th a memorable one xx

A Lovely, friendly, welcoming, intimate, beautiful village pub with great big portioned food. Speaking with the new landlady and she has big plans to make this place even better than it is now. Fingers crossed for her. We will be returning.

Truly blown away by what Amy has done with this place. Truly incredible. The outside dining space is utterly delightful and and very cosy. Excellent and fairs menu and delicious food. Would particularly recommend the lasagna yum yum - will will get frequenting regularly ❤️

As two couples, one from Oxfordshire and one from Leicestershire, this was our very first visit to this establishment for Sunday Lunch. The welcome we received was wonderful, with a smile that would brighten anyone's day. The food, (although not a huge menu), was very good with large portions and very very tasty. The staff are a credit to the place and we spent a very enjoyable time there. Our first, but certainly not our last visit there. Thank you for a lovely meal.
C. S.
Nice outdoor space for eating and kids area. Very friendly and helpful staff.

The wife and I went for a steak on Sunday, one of the best rump steak I have had. Nice clean pub, friendly staff and very reasonable prices. Second time we have are at this lovely pub and will be back to try some of the other dishes. Would recommend if you want a good bit of food in a great village pub.
K. R.
Very good - we were a very big party and they did very well serving us all food. The chicken wrap was "amazing" and the brownies were great said my daughter. My burger was very nice. There's a little garden the children could run around in and a sheltered/ covered area outdoors.
P. D.
Great coffee, great local cafe
H. S.
Food was lovely and a reasonable price but my husband wasn't too impressed with his small starter. I think the pub is being redecorated.

My Wife and I hosted our Baby Shower at the pub at the weekend and Amy,Martin and all the staff were just amazing. They were so accommodating of us and our guests and nothing was too much. We’ve been in for a few drinks since they have taken over and always been greeted with a smile and a friendly chat. Keep up the great work guys and we will be back soon for some dinner.
B. C.
An excellent evening of great food and conversation. We happened upon this pub while on vacation and loved the host’s stories and graciousness. Accommodating for food allergies. You won’t regret stopping by for dinner or a pint.

Ordered a take away roast dinner in the middle of moving house and it was bloody delicious. The food at the walls has turned around since the new owners took over, lovely portion sizes and the nicest roast dinner I’d had from a pub in a very long time. Amy and Martin have done a fantastic job since taking over. The pub comes highly recommended if you’re looking for brilliant service and a lovely meal.

A truly authentic pub that has been around for 600 years with gracious new owners, fine ambiance and terrific food! A wonderful place to drop in and get to know the town locals and enjoy excellent food and drink! Ask to see the historic priest hole that connects via a passage to the village church!
P. B.

Village pub with parking selection of drinks good reasonable prices skittles table and chilled vibe. The steak I order was med although it tasted ok it was not cooked on a high enough heat for my liking and had that boiled look about it.
