Reviews of Adam and Eve
S. W.
Had to have a pint in the oldest pub in Norwich. Quaint, beautiful building with lots of original features. Nice atmosphere and beautiful flowers decorating the whole front. X
A. _.
Pretty cool place. Its not real big, but its nice for a pint and to sit outside and enjoy it. Big car park right next to it too, which is handy.
L. J.
Best pub in Norwich..Quaint, very old, authentic and a very warm welcome from landlady and bar staff. Exactly how a pub should be. Good quality food at reasonable prices. Highly recommended
L. W.
Lovely setting and a real pub. Lovely staff and a decent selection of beers. Can imagine its a wonderful summer experience.
L. R.
The Adam and Eve public house is conveniently situated next to a car park close to Norwich Cathedral. The sign proudly proclaims that it is possibly the oldest pub in Norwich. So after visiting the Cathedral it was nice to stop and enjoy a hot chocolate with an added shot of Woods Demerara Rum.
J. S.
Very nice lunch of Mac and cheese and chip bowls with chilli and scampi for three of us. Not sure which staff were on with some of these reviews as we found everyone to be very friends. Good food and beer. Had to sit outside as inside wasn’t open but weather was nice so not an issue
J. W.
What everyone's idea of an old English pub looks like brought to life. Packed. Fast service and a good pint of Guinness. Friendly crowd.
D. W.
Good service, friendly helpful staff and a good choice of beers. This is a great pub in a great location.
A. J.
Popped in for an hour about 2pm today and enjoyed a pint or two while writing postcards and sheltering from the torrential rain. It was on my list of destinations for the day anyway, but sitting outside amongst the lovely flowers was off the agenda due to weather. A nice choice of ales and very friendly and helpful staff. I had already eaten, so couldn't try the menu, however there was a table nearby who were very complimentary (both in and out of the hearing of the staff) about the burgers, which the chef confirmed were home-made, and the macaroni cheese. So next time I will eat there for sure. I was offered an umbrella to take away with me when I left, which was incredibly kind, however my next stop was a church a few steps away, so might not have been in as much need as others. The people running the pub do really make a pub, in my opinion, and I felt very welcome. Beautiful building in a quiet location near the back of the cathedral and the law courts. Garden is lovely, but my photo doesn't do it justice because of the rain!
P. W. (.
Great little pub tucked away behind Norwich cathedral. Excellent food and drink!
R. K.
The Adam and Eve remains a classic Norwich pub. Beautiful location, friendly staff, good beer, stacks of history.
S. G.
Lovely building with fabulous history,....you must try the loaded fries with chilli,...Best I've ever had!
T. M.
Lovely little pub in a beautiful setting.
I. Y.
Three of us came here for the 2022 City of Ale Festival, for two of us it was a return trip having been here for the 2014 Festival. We enjoyed our beers and breathed in the atmosphere of a pub which could date back to 1249; which seems to be the same date as the nearby hospital.
C.
I've always loved the Adam and Eve. A really old pub with great beer and friendly staff. We sat outside, and with the brilliant sunshine it was an excellent way to spend a weekend. Reasonably priced drinks, with food options too
L. U.
Beautiful small pub, great place to stop for food and drinks!
p. i.
Nice. Traditional pub food - sausage and mash £11 - and theakstons old peculiar
R. L.
This place was anticipated to be the highlight of my visit to the UK, and it did not disappoint. My favorite things in life are pubs, friends and historic buildings. This place had all three, and was even better than I’d hoped. The atmosphere was lively and extremely friendly, and the beer selection, though small, was excellent. If I lived in Norwich, I’d be at the Adam and Eve at least once a week.
H. B.
Quaint pub, but sat outside so didn't really feel the historical be it. Sat opposite a big car park!
R. W.
Absolutely brilliant place, what a find, excellent food and very friendly staff.
T. J.
This excellent pub “Adam and Eve” is located in the city of Norwich, in Bishopgate, close to Norwich Cathedral, the Great Hospital and Norwich Crown Court. It is widely claimed to be the oldest pub in the city, with the earliest known reference made in 1249.
The earliest reference to a tavern on its site was in 1241 or 1249 as a brewhouse used by workmen building the nearby cathedral. The brewhouse was owned by Benedictine monks at the nearby Great Hospital. It was the last pub in Norwich to serve ale from the barrel, until a bar was installed in 1971.
The pub seen today is a 17th-century building constructed from brick and flint with later additions such as Dutch gables. A Saxon well is located beneath the lower bar floor.
G. H.
This pub is an icon. With the landlady Rita, is an exceptionally friendly place. Great location. Definitely worth a visit.
M. P.
Quietly quirky, we stumbled on the pub whilst out walking, what a find. Very rustic but the Beers are very well kept although a little pricey.
S. L.
Very cute pub but think layout of tables inside could be improved so more cosy/feel less like you're about to present to the rest of the room (as another couple placed opp us joked 😅 ).
I. H.
Always an amazing experience. Lovely pints with a lovely atmosphere. One of the best tour spots of Norwich!
t. m.
Not a bad pub, bar staff are friendly and you can sit outside if the weather is ok. Didn't get a chance to try the food.
G. L.
Wow! what an atmosphere and a feel of a time gone by. Purportedly the oldest pub in Norwich. Looking at the charming old building and fittings with a little imagination you get a real feeling of being in a time warp. Apparently haunted, jury's out on that for me though and by the way Norwich crown Court is just around the corner. Check out the history when you visit. Great food to be had with a good selection and the staff are very courteous. There is some road work going on at the time of writing this review.
W. H.
Being at the oldest pub in Norfolk was interesting. I can't give it more than three stars as much as I would like because COVID had prevented us from using facilities inside.
S. D.
The pub looked nice and it served generous portions of the Sunday roast. The roast potatoes were hard, chewy and tasted like they had been reheated. The Yorkshire puddings were cold and soggy.
d. r.
We were only there for a quick drink but they had a good range of beers, the staff were very friendly and it's a charming building
D. E.
Lovely old pub with friendly staff.
M. V.
Good beer and great service. Bbq for the Lord Mayor’s procession made one of the best burgers I’ve ever had.
M. B.
I adore this pub. The staff are super friendly and the food and drinks are always on point.
R. C.
I spent 1 day exploring Norwich with a friend who is from the area. It was a lovely sunny day, unexpectedly in February, and she recommended here. It's an old pub and has a real traditional feel in the best way. The outside seating area, where we sat, is also fantastic on a warm sunny day.
Furthermore the drink selection is a good mix.
Everything you want.
T. T. J.
Lovely quint city pub set back from the hustle and bustle. Shake about the view of the car park, but hand fir fans of a swifty.
M. R.
One of the oldest and most haunted pubs in Norwich, good selection of beer and helpful staff
M. P.
Food was lovely, service was spot on, proper old building right next to the Cathedral
M. B.
Great little pub with lots of nooks to sit in be careful where you put your beer down place is so old not everything is level 😁 worth a visit
N. M.
Cracking little pub, nice beers, even better if the weather is nice and you can sit outside.
L. S.
Lovely little pub near the river the norwich cathedral and town centre
p. s.
A superbly run pub that keeps a good cellar and pours a delicious ale. I only enjoyed a bar snack but those enjoying a full roast were no doubt as satisfied as me. Parking in abundance close by and a charming river walk nearby. Ten out of ten.
J. G.
I love this place. The history of a 1000 years of drinking at that same spot is wonderful. The building is very old and lovely to inspect. (It's not a 1000 years old)
Now the important part; plenty of local ales that were very nice. I had the Mac and Cheese with bacon bits (there was loads) and a sprinkle of spring onions over the top, it was fantastic. The rest of the table I was with were very envious of my selection. Needless to say, I inhaled it. Gone in seconds. Omnomnomnom.
Do visit this place for some good beer and lovely food and soak up the atmosphere of your fellow drinkers for the last 1000 years toasting your pint.
S. P.
Pub with real character and history. Good drinks selection and great food. The lady serving behind the bar was very helpful and pleasent. Would recommend. Will be back again soon.
K. Z.
Don't know if it's the oldest pub in Norwich, but definitely worth visiting for pint or four. Cosy and nice with friendly staff and good selection of real ales.
T. G. N.
lovely old pub right behind Norwich Cathedral.Outdoor seats , serves food & has a small but good drinks selection.
M. R.
Lovely old pub, good menu, excellent quality, worth searching out.
G. L.
Nice little pub. Perfect for a lunchtime pint!
K. P.
Love this little pub, really friendly atmosphere and a cool ghost story
k. t.
£9 for 2 drinks seems a bit much but otherwise a lovely little boozer
f. I.
It felt good drinking beer in the oldest pub in Norwich.Cheers to more life!🍺
R. R.
Food was really good with friendly staff.
M. L.
The food was very nice and the staff were friendly. We sat outside as the weather was good but inside was very interesting, in a good way. Such an interesting old building. Definitely worth a visit and right next to a car park and the cathedral to boot, so in a very good spot.
B. T.
A pleasant evening drinking in the sunshine. We'll kept beer and friendly staff. Table service only.
Back to normal friendly post-covid service.
K. S.
Just popped in to use there toilet but a nice pub and the oldest in norwich.
A. T.
Good cask beer choice and outdoor space, cosy inside - mind your head!
G. P.
Gorgeous little pub. A definitely must for anyone into beer and visiting Norwich.
C. T.
It's lovely heading out of London, with its overpriced beer and miserable staff in pubs. Yet another example of a reasonably priced pub, with friendly staff, and nice beer.
Lovely old pub with history, small but that's half the charm. I'll be back.
L. B.
Nice historic pub near Norwich cathedral limited food, but sandwiches are tasty. Only a few beers on offer but normally some nice ones.
D. F.
This place has it all: booze, food, places to sit and drink booze and eat food, friendly staff who bring you booze and food and a pleasant ambiance in which to consume your booze and food. The beer is well curated and the food is tasty, filling and decent value. This is probably, maybe the oldest pub in Norwich so that's nice, and if you're on a pub crawl it's well situated to be part of a line of pubs from the Red Lion to...other places in the city in various directions once you reach the cathedral. The fact that it's so near the cathedral makes it a great place to stop for a spot of lunch if you've been probing the refectory and the road it's next to is pretty quiet, so you can have a peaceful outside drink in the summer without being bothered by lots of traffic noise. This pub is a regular go-to location for me, despite being slightly out of the way in comparison to more central boozers, because it's so nice. Drink here. Do it now.
o. l.
Nice and friendly place, the beer I ordered was cool and in best quality.
N. D.
Very friendly atmosphere - good pub for a drink or two
w. m.
Lovely quaint pub friendly staff excellent kept ales
M. S.
Very good. Just finished on jury service was nice atmosphere we all enjoyed it
R. P.
Amazing food parking in car park on site limited opening times 12-4
J. G.
Wonderful little pub with lots of history. Great food and great service.
B. S.
Fantastic best place in Norwich beautiful bar
B. S.
Still one of the best places in the city to enjoy a pint in the sun.
W. C.
Good place to hang out, good food (me trying their famous Fish & Chips), good beer
S. B.
Always a great place to stop off for refreshments. Very friendly.
A. P.
Lovely atmosphere and Moretti beer on tap 😍🥃
P. C.
The oldest pub in Norwich circa 1600's, beautiful place to eat and drink...with loverly staff.
P. A.
Visited with a group of friends. Lovely friendly pub, hidden gem.
D. M.
Beautiful pub, always friendly.
E. M.
Lovely old pub in a beautiful spot just by Norwich Cathedral. Good beer and cosy atmosphere. Will definitely go back when we are next in Norwich.
M. M.
Lovely old pub, arrived just before closing ,served excellent beer and under no pressure to leave quickly. Superb staff.
K. A.
Situated close to Norwich Cathedral this very old pub offers good beers and a attractive menu. Good outdoor seating area.and very friendly staff.
A. S.
Really lovely little pub. Tables outside, some simple but tasty lunch options, and a friendly welcome.
T. W.
Nice portions, food ok. Would eat there again.
A. M.
Wonderful pub, fantastic food, drinks and staff. Love it.
1 year on and it's as lovely as ever. ❤
D. M.
Good cosy pub. They cooked some chips on request even when their kitchen was closed.
W. S.
Good choice of meals and drinks. Prompt service.
S. R.
Lovely small pub.
E. C.
I've been to this pub twice now, once for lunch and once for a quick half during a walk. Its a beautiful historic place, with low ceilings and beams (my 6ft2 fiance has to duck), and a very small area inside for seating. The food is lovely and of average pub prices. The staff are always friendly and accommodating. Due to the historic nature of the building, there is no disabled access. I would recommend booking a table if you're wanting to visit during peak times. It's a popular place!
C. K.
Lovely old pub, good service
C. C.
An excellent traditional pub beaming with history and character. Good selection of beer and ales with a friendly service. Well worth the visit every time.
M. G.
Expensive !! Next to a car park, regardless how pretty the pub is or what’s behind
£8 small bottle of Prosecco ?!!!🍾
Not allowed in pub; for a busy pub with obviously plenty of trade you think they would stop trying to pull back last years lost revenue !! 💰
P. M.
Very much enjoyed the quaint historical atmosphere, picturesque scenery, and exquisite bar service (compliments to Kes, a radiant barman who elevated my experience to a true 5 star afternoon)
C. H.
Have ventured to this little gem of a pub twice now. Once for an all day unexpected session :) and again for a takeaway lunch. Very very happy on both occasions and would recommend to anyone for a few drinks or a bite to eat. Lovely atmosphere and very welcoming environment and bar team. Keep up the great work, will be back again :)
C.
The oldest pub in Norwich! The Adam and Eve is tucked away near the river in a lovely quiet spot. There are popular picnic tables outside and a teeny pub inside. Rumoured to be haunted by a poltergeist so keep an eye on your pint!
P. R.
Lovely pub, great setting and atmosphere. The staff are very friendly and the food first class.
A. R.
A pub that you must visit as it's to difficult to describe properly but you won't be disappointed. Very friendly staff and landlady. Nice selection of real ales along with the usual suspects as far as lager and wine is concerned backed up with a pleasant bar menu. You are able to sit outside in the summer in the shadow of the cathedral and the law courts, quite impressive and with plenty of parking.
J. B.
Still friendly after all this time. Lovely beer. Coffee machine a bit basic.
J. P.
Love this pub!!!
Tucked out the way, quiet and very friendly staff.
Small food menu but never a bad meal, drinks always spot on!!!!
D. G.
Went here for the ghost walk and a drink. If you enjoy a traditional pub and have an interest in local history, I really recommend it.
M. S.
Probably the best pub in Norwich, yet I went in when it was supposed to be open and they turned me away as they had stopped serving early.
Just check before you go as the published hours may differ from the actual hours.
A. W.
Lovely small pub. Historical. Very small as it's a very old pub. Nice to pop in and have a drink but very small. Probably very nice in the summer months to sit outside. Takes card and contactless. Standard Norwich prices for drinks. £4.50 pints. Don't bring a lot of people as very short on space inside.
J. S. P.
One of Norwich oldest pubs, this quaint English pub displays real character and charm in the heart of the city.
B. L.
Nice friendly pub nice and clean. Lovely when lit up at night x
j. p.
Great food and so well worth it! From the USA
J. C.
Quirky pub with a good atmosphere. Due to it being small, the number of beers available is quite low but they keep a good cellar. The fiat walk starts here so you can get in the mood :)
P. R.
Historic pub a must visit when in Norwich. Real ales quality excellent. Happy Days. Highly recommended
J. T.
Probably the oldest pub in the city. Have been here many times in the past. Have had the same owners for the last 30 years or more.
O. F.
Lovely relaxed pub.large drinks menu. Outside seating, quiet and relaxed. Loads of parking.
A. M.
Nice enough but the kind of place you go to say that you've been to the world's oldest pub (opened 1099), not because there's anything special about it - it's nice enough but nothing to write home about, and charges tourist prices not local prices. If you just want a pint by the river, you're much better off walking 200 yards up the road to the Glasshouse or the Mischief.
O. O.
The Adem and Eve is an old pub in Norwich that serves food and drink. Went with my family for a family meal and couldn't be happier with the food or service. Friendly staff and good food.
H. B.
An old favourite - our family visits aren't complete without a lunch or round here. Cosy little pub that still retains many old features (including a low lintel, watch you head!) and has a good selection of both drinks and food.
W. N.
Lovely as usual. Went for a few drinks, lovely outside seating area. Will go back again and again!
T. W.
Fantastic atmosphere, cozy little pub. Very friendly staff.
B. D.
Lovely pub, very friendly and hospitable staff. Highly recommended. A real gem.
A. S.
One of my favourite pubs in Norwich, and as the oldest pub in the city, it certainly has a lot of character and is a fascinating building. Visited here a few years back on a on-off occasion but been here much more frequently lately, great, friendly service and a fantastic pub to sit outside in the summer. I will be back again for a Guinness or two in the future, that is for sure.
D. D.
Reputedly the oldest pub in the city and was a watering hole for the people that built the Cathedral.
Have always liked it, partly because its age means it is impossible to make much bigger or otherwise modernise.
That is also it's downfall however, rarely much room, but at the same time a little off the beaten track so you need to make an effort to find your way there.
If you want to have a beer with some real heritage and sup where others have been doing the same for a thousand years, little really like it anywhere.
D. R.
Good service lovely beer
H. P.
Oldest pub in Norwich, it is deliciously quaint. Food is served here although I haven't tried it. It's got quite a small interior but there is a decent amount of outdoor seating
T. S.
Lovely pub, quiet in the weekday evenings, and in the summer many a fine evening can be spent outside. The building itself has a long and interesting history, and it's a good spot beside a quiet road to sit and talk without annoying music playing.
T. B.
They were OK. Apparently Cain and Abel are playing them up bit at the moment.
L. C.
Wonderful old pub in a fabulous location
C. T.
Very quant, visited prior to a comedy show. Had to sit outside, due to current covid situation, but not a problem as a beautiful evening.
R. S. (.
The cutest, cozy little pub in Norwich. It's so old! Great beer! Friendly crowd.
R. S.
Oldest Pub in Norwich. Always looks good outside with the floral displays.
Good selection of beer.
K. S.
Lovely little pub, friendly staff and great location.
B. E.
This is a great pub in the heart of Norwich. The bar staff is hilarious. There is not much room inside, but they also have table seating outside. You can't come to Norwich without stopping by the Adam and Eve. Try ordering a pint of Pimms and see what they say...hilarious!
A. P.
Have been going to this pub since I was a little boy. Parents took us for meals there. Lovely out of the way place and good to take visitors to Norwich. Always friendly reception from bar staff. Will return when I visit Norwich.
N.
Beautiful, historic pub with excellent beers, a good food menu and friendly service
I. H.
The oldest pub in Norwich is a lovely place to enjoy a pint and some history. The beer and food is ok but it's the building that makes it worth a visit. In the summer you get some late sun on the tables outside but unfortunately the view is of a car park. The Adam and Eve is often included in one of our crawls.
I. L.
Nice, small cosy public house tucked away behind historic Norwich cathedral near the river Wensum.
The food was okay, good 🍻 beer all at a reasonable prices.
The staff were approachable and welcoming with great ambience/atmosphere to the place.
Also good beer garden to sit in during the summer months.
D. H.
Supposedly the oldest pub in Norwich, it has a dull never changing selection of real ales, but caters more for the food market. It has a nice outside seating area and is covered in flowers in the Summer. Not one of my favourites as it could be so much better.
E. D.
Nice little spot, the beers are ok. They have a few tables outside, as it is pretty small inside. Olde worlde charm, claims to be one of the oldest in Norwich. I like the lovely hanging baskets outside the pub in the summer.
R. L.
Pleasant pub for outdoor drinks
K. W.
This is the oldest pub in Norwich and has some excellent character and very well worth a visit. Had a quick lunch on Thursday, the service was good and the Brie and Bacon Toastie was just what I wanted.
t. f.
Old Peculiar on tap! and a lovely lunch in this very old quaint picturesque pub by the river.
C. B.
Great staff, great food, can't ask for more. Beautiful interior and exterior ☺ good amount of parking and outdoor seating too.
R. C.
Said to be the oldest pub in Norwich. Beamed ceilings, loads of atmosphere. Good choice of food, very reasonable. Nice beers.
D. Y.
Lovely old pub, I think the oldest in Norwich, good atmosphere, with several small rooms making it more personal. Good selection of beers and tasty food too. Highly recommended.
L. T.
Oldest pub in the UK serving since the 1200s i believe, if youre over 5'4" recommend that you watch your head on the door as its small. lovely building, staff and atmosphere a must visit at least once if you go to Norwich.
T. R.
Quaint very old pub near the Cathedral. Excellent beers. Cosy and snug. No music or TV. Almost friendly staff. Bottom floor was closed for a private do the day I went.
G. B.
Great old pub of Norwich. Well frequented during the day due to its proximity to the law courts and the river walk, but also a good place for a quiet drink at night close to the bustle of the 'night center'
G.
Very atmospheroc from what i can tell, one of the oldest bars in the city, service with a smile however and a really nice pint of guiness, does a small range of ales on tap and for a very fair price will certainly go back again!
I. P.
Cosy and quaint little pub with plenty of historic charm. Ale selection could have more to offer and it can get a bit cramped during busier periods, but it carries a welcoming ambience that's often hard to find in a city centre pub. Makes an ideal stopping off point for a Sunday stroll along Norwich's beautiful Riverside Walk.
D. O.
What a lovely old pub, apparently been around for a fairly long time. Lots of character and charm, even better if the weather is lovely and you can make use of the tables outside to soak up the sun drink and food.
J. R.
Lovely pub and cosy,
M. D.
I was a boarder at Norwich school in the '60s. I used to go over the wall for a quick pint of cider until I was caught by my housemaster just as I was going over the wall. I lost my Monitor status but was afterwards made a prefect. Ah the good old days.
T. M.
If 800 year old pubs are your thing, this is a lovely little one. Easily incorporated into a visit to the cathedral and/or walk along the river.
a. m.
Beautiful building and a tiny bar. Lots of tables outside, though good luck finding a spot when the suns out. Very cosy in the winter. Food is reasonable pub fare, think they don't serve that late though. Beer selection is a touch lacking, maybe 2 or 3 ales on, Theakstons Old Peculier always seems to be on which strikes me as odd but at least it's different round these parts.
J. M.
Lovely traditional quaint pub, a hidden gem in Norwich city close to river with lovely walks. Good selection of drinks. Nice outside seating.
K. S.
One of my favourite pubs in the UK. TINY,quaint, looks amazing when you turn the corner and see the beautiful show of flowers. Always got old peculiar on draught . And the food is great
S. L.
Such a beautiful, old pub. Well looked after - both the appearance, and beer! Lovely food too. And the service is second-to-none. A feast for the eyes, there is no doubt!
R. P.
Nice pub good outside place very small and cute building well worth a visit
C. A.
Literally the cutest little pub I've been to, it's teeny buy they have a a nice Aspalls on tap and it's just a beautiful building with a great deal of character and charm. Really nice place.
F. R.
Propa old pub. Excellent ales. Good place to start a ghost walk.
C. W.
Lively wee pub with a good selection of wines, ales and spirits. Very popular with locals and tourists and due to size does become crowded easily, but is part of its charm! x
S. C.
Had a lovely meal, staff were friendly and attentive. Would definitely recommend.
J.
A lovely place. Welcoming and friendly staff, terrific beers
D. H.
Adam n eve is a lovely friendly pub bar staff r awsome thank you Rita n rob make u feel so welcome

A. R.
Beautiful old pub with a good beer selection.
B. T.
Lovely walk along the river on a sunny afternoon finishing with a drink outside this charming old pub
M. A.
Lovely old pub - oldest in Norwich probably. Well kept beer friendly welcome service and atmosphere. A must see sight on a visit to Norwich.
A. T.
Lovely pub. The oldest booze in Norwich!! The pub also serves food!!
J. M.
Wonderful pub, great selection
H.
Absolutely brilliant. Staff are great and the beer is fantastic, lovely pub to sit outside of on a sunny day.
B.
Historic pub in Norwich, dating from 1200s with the present building dating from the 1600s. Also famous for being so small. Serves real ale and food. Doesn't give car park change.
J. B.
Amazing great prices warm welcome
A. T.
Lovely small pub near the river. Service was brilliant and very efficient.
K. J.
Fantastic history and age to this place, great whether summer or winter. Serves Real Ales, snacks, meals and all other expected beverages. Service is a bit slow depending on time of day.
B. S.
Pleasant small pub with friendly helpful staff. Choice of real ales.
K. J.
Went for a few drinks and about a week ago with some friends, very nice pub both bar men were lovely and didn't look bad at all which is never a bad thing I guess! Will definitely be back :)
L.
Disappointed the last time we went. We ordered but they forgot about us and we had to wait another three quarters of an hour for our meals. But when we got our meals it was so delicious. 10 out of 10 for the actual meal.
B. M.
Great little pub only ever visited for drinks but always nice
A. F.
Stopped for a pint. Staff helpful. They are do their up most to operate in these difficult times. Well done.
M. C.
This is a very small but excellent pub in Norwich. Tucked away a bit but worth seeking out. It has a tiny bar but seating inside and out weather permitting.
R. L.
Nice beer and good service. A must visit if you are a guest in our little city!
D. W.
Cosy! Nice little Pub. Unfortunately, we only could seat at the bar/pub and it wasn't possible to eat in the restaurant because it was closed. Maybe next time...
N. T.
Great vibes. Excellent and friendly customer service. Always nice to sit outside such an old and characteristic building!
J. C.
Very friendly place that know there quality alcohol with great in door and out door seating.
m. m.
been many many times, lovely old pub, mind your head going in, relaxed, very decent beers, i had an old peculiar that was as perfect as it is possible to be, right temp, clear, fresh, tasty, historic and well hidden,
A. D.
A nice drink in a comfortable corner.
M. B.
The oldest pub in Norwich certainly knows how to serve ale. It’s rare nowadays but I have never had a disappointing pint.
R. B.
Love this pub, beautiful building, great atmosphere, great selection of ales and friendly service. Slightly disappointed I haven't seen the resident ghost!
c.
Oldest pub in Norwich is their claim here. Was nice enough, a bit cramped but thats what u get i suppose with centuries old pubs. Beer a tad pricey, maybe coining in on their claim to fame?
F. G.
Beautiful pub - bit on the pricey side but well worth it for the scenery and amazing deck downstairs by the rivers edge.
s. s.
It was a really nice pub and great food and drink was reasonably priced too. My whole family enjoyed it aswell. Hopefully will be back to it next year on our next holiday. Ps thanks for the brandy. Sam starke
A. W.
Really cute little pub serving great beer in a great location.
This is one of my fav spots in the summer with all of the benches lined along the front as it is a suntrap!

R. W.
A nice pub with a great group of staff. They have a good selection of spirits and nice outdoor seating. They could do with an online presence.
J. F.
The oldest pub in Norwich, full of character with a quirky little bar and plenty of oudoor seating. The only downside is the outside seating is next to an outdoor carpark.
A.
Traditional English pub next to Norwich cathedral. Good beers and quality food. Good service carried out by a nice family.
J. H.
Apparently the oldest pub in Norwich. Rather a nice higgledy-piggledy sort of an interior, with a few separate rooms on a couple of different levels. Ate here as well - a Ploughman's I think - and the food wasn't bad.
D. H.
Great pub....the oldest in Norwich....probably! Quirky and quaint with a good selection of beers and wines. Great atmosphere both inside and out.

Disappointed charged 75p for a top of soda water, lovely people though. Nearly £10 for a pint and a glass of wine tops, sadly won't be a regular too expensive.
B. A.
Wonderful old pub with a great atmosphere and excellent ales. Only downside is that it is only a small place and it gets busy.
R. L.

The best thing about this place is the building. It's like sitting in a cottage in the country. The staff are friendly and the beers poured well. It is quite pricey though
