Reviews of Micawbers Tavern X The Chick Inn

Fantastic little bar, really friendly atmosphere and the guy behind the bar when we were in was great.
This was for us an accidental find but would highly recommend anyone to seek this place out.

Great chicken, tasty and brings back so many rotisserie memories! Great delivery service too, fries still warm and crispy. Great value 👏 will order again.

Micawbers Tavern is a delightful place to be. The barman is friendly and there's a good selection on tap; Redwell Brewery's pilsner has a lovely flavour. The food smells delicious, though we didn't have time to sample the menu. I will definitely be returning.

Yes it's just a chicken and chips place , but it's done well, simply and affordably. The premises does however have an identity crisis, is it a diner that's a pub or a pub that's a diner? Based on a Saturday evening visit it seems to attract large groups who eat a little and drink alot. I hope it gets the chance to mature and work out what kind of a place it really is.

Really old and nice. Friendly staff quiz night really good thus..

Gorgeous pub. Really lovely relaxed atmosphere. Fantastic art on the walls! Stunning log fire and fabulous staff. Great place to go. Highly recommend!

Great food, great service. Best smelling pub in town.

Hidden gem; absolutely love this place tucked away in historic lanes. We love it. Went back with friends this time, few drinks, massive amount of food, relaxed vibe. Definitely be back - best fries ever

Friendly service staff and delicious food served in a cosy atmosphere. Portions are really generous for the price (a half chicken is actually HALF a large chicken unlike most places seem to serve). The chicken is succulent but not at all greasy and the Spicy Korean sauce is great. My only (very minor) gripe is the disposable plastic tupperware the sauce and coleslaw is served in, seems a tad wasteful for dine-in customers when a bowl or ramekin would do the job just fine. Other than that, an excellent dining experience.

Staff clearly not trained in customer service. We were given wet serviettes, had to ask for cutlery after our food had been served and our table was cleared whilst one of our party was still eating. We thought the venue was too dark and although the food was value for money, we weren't impressed with food being served on a tray!

Excellent. Hoof beer great chicken nuggets. One of the best pubs in Norwich.

Five star chicken, great chips and delicious coleslaw... My only minor grip is the coleslaw pots need to be bigger. Try the Korean sauce a real treat, again pot could have been a bit bigger. Will go back and recommend to all. Clucking gorgeous! 🐔

Popped in for quick lunchtime drink. Great to see the place open again. Lovely sympathetic refit of a beautiful 18th century (?) building. Great draft Moretti my fave!

A great pub well situated in the city in a rather quiet and nostalgic corner but simply seconds from the town centre. Excellent variety of drinks both on tap and bottled. Very peaceful atmosphere, very friendly staff. A must for everyone.

Good beer, dog friendly. Human friendly as well!
They don't do food any more which is a shame, but they do show the football if that's your jam
Also the rugby
