Reviews of St Andrews Brew House
Z. J.
We had a delightful roast dinner which was cooked to perfection, with very well balanced flavours. We could not fault it. To add, there was excellent table service from Francis. Making sure we were satisfied and had everything we needed.
Definitely a must visit place when in the city! :)

Fish (gluten free) and chips plus a pint of house brew ale. Super food and service. The fish and chips were great and the non gluten avoiders amongst us had no idea it was gluten free.
T. D.
The bar maid sally was excellent, super attentive to our needs. She was exceptional, whipping pints out like they were mister whippies at the park on a hot summers day. Hands like lightning, pints galor @sally 12/10 - superb.
D. W.
Food was excellent, and the service was very good for the most part. Only gripe is that one of the staff members seemed slightly disinterested. Decor was nice too. Would definetely return.

Really enjoyed our experience. Initially came in for a pint - great selection of beers brewed on site. Enjoyed the porter and IPA. We saw the menu which was really impressive. A great vegetarian selection as well as meat choices. So we came back for dinner the next day, enjoyed a vegetarian sharing platter which had awesome flavours and was huge. I then enjoyed a nut roast which was wonderful (pictured). Would highly recommend this place for lunch or dinner and /or a few drinks.
R. P.
Good selection of craft beers, cute and cosy inside with some seats outside for summer sun basking.

Found this place by accident. And it did not disappoint. Decor was industrial and really worked. The food was excellent. Burgers were large, full of flavour and hand made. The wife had roast beef which looked amazing, decent portion of meat and potatoes, veg perfectly cooked. Decent choice of proper cask ales, what we tried were very quaffable. Staff attentive but discreet. Will definitely go again.

Nice food, lovely drinks, great service. Cool place!

Had tapas small plates. All good, albeit slightly expensive. I recommend 4 plates between 2. Nachos is best value

Absolutely love this place ...fantastic range of beers and my favourite brewhouse cider 😍 food was amazing we tried a few of the little plate dishes which were fab ...also the lady who looked after was lovely (Amy) thank you 😊

Great atmosphere, love the staff and great selection of food, one of my favourite pubs in Norwich
R. T.
Great food and plenty of it, as well as ales brewed in house. Warm and friendly. They also do takeaway for their beer. Yum!

Had a great time and the service was excellent, Sally did an amazing job.

We came here yesterday as refugees from the Beer Festival across the square. There were six beers on the pumps and we really enjoyed the one we hadn't had previously. Beers have always been well kept when we have been here and the service is fine.

This place is not so nice when I was waiting for my food the person next to me fell off their chair and all of their food went everywhere and the waiters just stood there and laughed. This place have vote conservative flags all around it. The tacos are quite nice tho
V. H.
Went with a group of friends here just for craft beers and were very happy with the quality of both local cask ales (not oxidised!) as well as the kegged ones.

Great beer, good food, great service nuff said!

Fantastically amazing - great food - quick service and most of all lovely people! Highly recommended ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

I'm so impressed with how friendly Norwich bar and cafe staff are. This pub is no exception. Plus a decent list of drinks, a good atmosphere, and less crowded than you might expect.

Had quick bite here before a comedy gig a playhouse, so perfect location.
Went on Monday so had beer and burger for £12. Amazing value. But the flavoured burger was not that strong a taste so can't see point of it.
I had non alcoholic beer with burger, Father-in-law said that local brewed IPA was lovely to drink, House red wine was also a thumbs up.
Waitress was very polite and social.
Pre booked table online so it was easy and worked well. Was put out in back section of the ground floor eating area, but no room for leg space and not suitable for persons with bad back, tall in height or disability. Seems that have packed in to many table and chairs in this section.
Overall nice place to go, will head back again.

Interesting menu and really good apple-pear crumble

Didn't need to book, busy bar/restaurant
Rustic feel
Lovely food, we had the Vege special
Delicious cheesecake
Super friendly attentive staff
Lovely evening

We had a lovely Saturday afternoon here. Atmosphere was great and staff very friendly and attentive. We had the sharing platter to eat and halloumi fries really tasty and generous portion. My boyfriend enjoyed the house brew too!
M. L.
I wish this place were better. I had a very mediocre cooked breakfast in here a few months back which I really could not recommend. So I'd avoid this place for food if that was any indication (and I always think breakfasts are.) The drinks selection is fine, but I am not sure about some of the ales on offer. There are better pubs in the city centre very near by.
S. L.
We had a really lovely evening sampling a few of your in house beers whilst sampling your tapas selection. My wife was able to access the bar in her wheelchair and you had a good quality spacious wheelchair accessible toilet for her too. The atmosphere was great and the staff were knowledgeable and very friendly. We had a really relaxed evening thank you!
J.
Lovely pub, clean, well looked after, good food, prompt service. Also has great spaces upstairs for small events.
S. G.
Fast service but food was disappointing.
The potted shrimp (topped with a red butter slab with so much chilli that we couldn't eat it) tasted fine underneath. My lamb kebab was nothing like a kebab (more like pulled lamb) and came on top of a circular bread that wasn't mentioned at all on the menu - I didn't want it and I left it. The lamb tasted OK but wasn't what was promised - it wasn't a kebab!. The ordered burgers tasted fine but were difficult to eat. Chips were good. Beers and wine were good. Service was good and fast which we were grateful for as we were going to the cinema. Will I return? Maybe not.
M. B.
Excellent place, the food is on top, beer choice is great, and they got many MANY alcohol free beers too of quality. Diversified and rich food, I've been there 4 years ago and it still is one of the best place of Norwich. Quite underrated I would say from Google.

Just had Sunday lunch, food great, roast beef dinner the best around!, followed by Strawberry dessert with light sponge and pistachio nuts, fabulous! Nice friendly staff, and my partner loved the selection of beers, would definitely recommend. Oh and nice relaxing music playing, great way to spend a Sunday afternoon! 😊
P. O.
Had a lovely time at the brew house, beer was great, gin selection could have benefitted from a couple more. Menu was varied and the food tasted delicious. Sticky toffee pudding was divine!!!!
C. h.
Had a sunday roast with a group of about 20 people. Food was excellent. only small complaint was a lack of veg. We ate over 4-5 tables and there was only a small amount of veg in one bowl to share between two tables of 4-5 people on each. What we did get was high quality though.

Nice place this. We we're visiting Norwich for the day and it became a small impromptu pub crawl. We saw this after wandering about and went in for a pint. Small microbrewery on the premises and feels like a micropub but isn't. It's a lovely bar but isn't what I'd call a proper pub. More of a younger bar type place serving craft beer (which isn't a criticism, just not my favourite taste.) They also serve food at some tables behind the bar but we only had the beer. Of which, it was lovely. I had the cherry porter and it was brilliant. Recommended!
C. C.
Nice vibe an good selection of beers.

We arrived around 10 mins early and got sat down to have a drink, we then ordered our food which took an awful long time to arrive. However the staff were helpful and very apologetic to us and got us a drink on the house for our wait. Really nice friendly staff and the food was delicious. Would be 5 stars but had to drop one for the wait. Will definitely visit again.
A. T.
Good in house brews and some food guest beers. The food was very good, Beef pie was nicely cooked and had a good amount of meat. Would be a great venue for a rugby match in one of the special rooms.
S. B.
Nice place, reasonably priced, good food, only criticism is they had run out of burgers and steak
A. H.
Booked for 43 people for Christmas lunch and had the 2 function rooms upstairs. The booking system online made it incredibly easy to complete our pre-orders and the manager Abi was fantastic at meeting all our requirements, nothing was too much trouble.
On the day the room looked wonderful and all the staff were very welcoming and friendly. The food was brought out exactly on time and everyone thoroughly enjoyed their meals. Bar prices were reasonable too.
All in all I would highly recommend this place for any event you have planned, absolutely perfect!
J. S.
Stopped for an impromptu drink, first post lockdown pub visit. Bit of a faff to get app installed before we could order, but very efficient service and the IPA was spot on.
b. i.
Twice we have held our own pubquiz in the upstair rooms. Each time was a total success. Aimee looked after us very well .The food is excellent and the ranges of ales and wines vast. Also lovely views out of the windows. This is a great place to hire out
T. H.
We had a big family meal here and it was excellent. From the service to the food, we could not fault it.
Our server was polite, helpful and was always there when we needed him (I think his name was Kieran!)
Look forward to coming back soon.
D. P.
Visited recently and had some fantastic food at a reasonable price. They also serve a brilliant range of beer and the atmosphere is relaxed. Would definitely visit again

This venue is amazing, we held my husbands surprise 50th birthday party here on Friday and it was perfect! The staff are so friendly and helpful, Abi assisted with all our plans along the way and helped us to create the surprise and then everyone helped us to decorate the venue on Friday and allowed it to become so personal for our event, they accommodated us in every way possible all we had to do was ask.....staff are brilliant, food was fantastic and venue is just beautiful....we highly recommend St Andrews Brewhouse in every way!
E. F.
5 of us went for a christmas meal..... service was a tad slow. Food was nice but portions slightly on the smallish side.two of my party complained that the food was not hot but warm and refused to eat their dessert as it wasn't as described. We were granted a discount for this which I thank them for.
I liked the venue and my food and service was friendly.....
C. T.
Steve the brewer gave a great tour around the microbrewery. His knowledge and passion are unsurpassed and his beers great. There was a great selection for the tasting paddle. Would highly recommend to those interested in their beer.
R. B.
The staff fell over themselves trying to make our experience as good as possible. When we had a minor issue with our food they apologised profusely, offered to replace it, and then comped our ENTIRE meal for us, including two rounds of drinks! Exceptionally good and attentive service, and the food was delicious. We intend to go back as soon as possible.

This week we had 50 people in The Locker Room for a company Christmas Party, Awards & Quiz. It was a perfect space for us; tables for the staff, a stage for presenting with sound, projector & screen, and a bar at the end. The room was already 'dressed' for Christmas for us so we didn't have to and had a charming, cosy atmosphere. The Brew House staff were faultless; very friendly, helpful and professional throughout both the booking process, setting up and the duration of the event - especially the (very patient) Abi. Feedback the next day by our staff was unanimous; 'Best company Christmas party I've been to'. We highly recommend this venue. Well done The Brewsters!
A. T.
Great beers, great food too.

We held our wedding reception at St Andrews Brewhouse. We hired the upstairs for the event. Abi and the team were super helpful and we had a brilliant day.
V. N.
Fabulous Christmas dinner at the Brewhouse last night. There were 14 of us and the staff looked after us really well. Tasty food & great atmosphere. Thanks. Xx
M. C.
We held my daughter's birthday party in the rooms upstairs here and the team couldn't have been more helpful, especially Abi who made organising everything easy in the first place and Amy who was working the upstairs bar single-handed because of staff sickness but there was no hint of stopping the party early - we had a great time with music dancing and the rooms were lovely. Thanks very much
S. O.
60 work party for a Xmas lunchtime meal. Fantastic food and of special note the happy service provided by the girls on the top floor. They really made the event go so well. Thanks so much. Simon (John Innes Centre)

Did the Brewery Tour last Friday.. Steve the Head Brewer is amazing, his Beer related knowledge is unmatched and has brilliant style of sharing his wisdom. St Andrews Brew House is a truely lovely pub, a must vist for anyone ( interested in Beer ) visiting Norwich
G.
Really nice pub with a great selection of beer and tasty food.
D. F.
Food and service adequate but if you are ordering the rhubarb & custard tart be aware that it is very small and comes with the thinnest of thin smears of rhubarb and custard. Cost £7.
A. G.
Good place to spend a couple of relaxing afternoon drinking their brewpub beers and charging your phone. The food looked interesting too but we had other plans.
K. S.
Food and service can both be a little variable, but it's good more often than not. Order a pint and a pie (with excellent home made pastry), you won't be disappointed!
H. F.
The food has been good every time I have been. I have found the service to be slow, even on the odd occasion that we are the only table at that time. Other than that, it is great.
J. S.
Way too busy and rammed considering current Covid with just filling to the roof with people. Shame as it's such a lovely pub
D. W.
Nice little pub with some character and a great selection of drinks.
