After driving past a few times and wanting to try this place out I was surprised this evening with a birthday meal here! This place is 10/10 for not only the amazing food but the service too! The atmosphere was lovely and cosy, the seating so comfortable and overall it was an absolute fantastic experience!!

We visited the Fox for Sunday lunch, I will be honest, I had high hopes from the website. The reality was a pleasant country pub, we chose the sunday roast, 2 Turkey and one Beef, the Turkey was good the beef overcooked, the roast potatoes were great, not often the case in a pub! The Yorkshire pudding looked impressive but was a little burnt. The puzzle was the cubed beetroot, on a roast? The staff were friendly but lost interest once they had served dessert, we had to ask for coffee. In conclusion, it was a nice pub with reasonable food and friendly staff, the gardens looked amazing, it was ok and we will return to try the steak and burgers which looked fab.

What a lovely pub a bit noisy on the outside as its right beside the A140 But once inside a lovely quiet place to enjoy a drink and or a meal from their extensive menu ! This is such a brilliant place to eat. A variety of enticing and different to the norm dishes that are always cooked to perfection. Nice ambience inside and a good sized garden for outside dining. Highly recommend!

8 of us met here for dinner on a busy Saturday evening. In a world where customer service seems to have gone to pot, the staff were efficient and friendly, and as a group we can be very fussy but they met our demands quite happily! The menu is fabulous...varied, with enough choice but not overwhelming. The actual food was FABULOUS. Not one complaint...well cooked, beautifully presented, just perfect. I'm already planning my next visit...I may just need bigger pants first.

Not having booked we were fortunate to get a table. As it was my wife's birthday and had just come out of hospital we needed a nice meal. We weren't disappointed It was absolutely fantastic and the two girls serving us were brilliant. It definitely won't be our last visit. And compliments to the chef on three superb meals.

We feel so lucky to have this on our doorstep. Beautiful food. The fillet steak or the lamb Greek hanging skewers are my go to. My teenage son prefers there fantastic pizza and burgers. Husband being a man loves it all

The menu is varied. Food is amazing so tasty and one of the best in Norfolk. Just a letdown that dogs aren't allowed inside the pub. Most pubs have a dog friendly area and welcoming to our four legged family.

Stopped on the way to Cromer for lunch from London and the food was fab. Great service with a smile, large portion sizes and so reasonable. Couldn’t fault it. Highly recommend for the hungry, thirsty traveller. It was also quite busy so must be popular with the locals, always a good sign.

Oh my word.....if you enjoy delicious hearty food then this is the place for you. I must admit, I do like my food and can consume a scary amount (as a friend once commented!) So I opted for the smoked tasting platter......oh my! Ribs, chicken, sausage, chilli, beef ,corn on the cob, coleslaw, flat bread, maccy cheese, skin on chips, and in my opinion the tastiest pot of gravy I've had in a very long time. Delicious 😋 Oh, I was also impressed with the fact that they stocked pink lemonade, went rather nicely with the raspberry gin. All this teamed with friendly efficient staff made for a very enjoyable evening. So all in all couldn't fault anything from start to finish. Highly recommended

Wow! What an amazing pub / restaurant. Very nicely done up, nice menu, super friendly service and the food was just incredible. Was in Norfolk on holiday for a couple of weeks and this was the nicest food we had. My steak, mushroom and stout pudding was absolutely amazing. Other orders included the Greek kebabs, chicken burger and pork belly - all were also reported as having been very good. If you’re in the area this is a must visit pub.

Came for a meal Saturday evening at 6pm. Only reason for the 3 stars is, I ordered Diet Pepsi and was given normal Pepsi. I cannot tell the difference via taste and I asked for diet, and it was repeated back to me to be diet. so I didn’t think I needed to check it was diet. Most people see a thin person drinking Diet Pepsi and think haha they won’t know, I will give them normal coke. Hidden disability’s! Type 1 diabetic!! This will be the reason for high blood sugar levels. Because didn’t give a bolus for the full fat Pepsi. I only realised the mistake once I checked my bill the next day and had 1 Pepsi on the bill and my second drink it said Diet Pepsi. If your type 1 diabetic, triple check it’s definitely a diet drink! Food was fantastic though. Had the sharing platter that was amazing.

Second time there. Very impressive food, their rarebit starter was 5* without a doubt. Burgers are top notch too. You feel nicely full on very high quality food. Nice building, friendly staff. Busy but not loud. Would thoroughly recommend.

Our first visit for anniversary meal on a midweek evening. Very busy which was great to see with so much doom and gloom around. Very attentive waiting staff and a wonderful varied menu with everything you could imagine on offer. Something to suit everyone. We choose whitebait and half pint of prawns for starter's. Crispy whitebait and tasty prawns. Fillet steak for main together with the meat platter. Both beat us so no room for pudding. Somewhere we will definitely return to again as we thoroughly enjoyed the visit.

Good food. Not cheap but quality ingredients. Very busy and would recommend booking ahead. A little chaotic we were brought someone else's meal at firsy but kind of adds to the charm. It's also a village pub as well as a food destination so nice variety of people. Would go again.

Was booked in tonight for are first visit but the storm caused electrical issues and are booking was cancelled. Very professional, I received a call well over an hour before we were due to arrive to explain why they had to cancel. Completely out of their control and we totally understood, very pleased with the professionalism. We will book again and will look forward to are visit.

Was really impressed with the food here. Amongst the best we had in our stay in Norfolk. Portions are generous, and everyone is still talking about the raspberry brownies. The garden is pretty and had a play area for children. When sitting outside in other venues, you sometimes get forgotten. Not here, the service was so fast and efficient! Also dog-friendly. We were a very noisy (sorry) family group of 3 generations. We enjoyed the food we had; the brie and mushroom burger was yummy. There was a good choice of dishes. If you have young children this is a great place to go as there are swings and a slide to keep them amused. We ate outside undercover and felt safe.

YOU WONT GO HOME HUNGRY! A traditional pub in the country, fairly standard inside, good selection of ales available along with all you would expect to drink. Myself and the wife stopped in for lunch. Large selection to choose from. After much thought I went with Norfolk cheese steak. There take on the classic American philly steak. The steak, onions, peppers where well cooked and slathered in cheese served in tiger baguette. Flavours where good but could have done with a touch more seasoning. It was served with a small salad, coleslaw and chips. Mr S had the vegan butternut squash fajitas, again a large portion. The flavour was very nice and cooked just enough so that it wasn’t “sloppy” it only came with 2 tortillas and could have done with at least 3 as there was a lot squash/vegetables. Had to pop to use the men’s room, this could do with a lick of paint and a tidy up. I would recommend, just make sure you have room to fill as the portions are large!

Honestly can never fault the food! Always cooked really well, and the staff are really accommodating. I have to say though tonight was a bit of a let down, food was really good, but when it came to desert, it wasn't that busy at all. Both ours and the table next to us were neglected for 30 mins, we'd had our plates cleared and had the desert menu given to us. We had chosen our deserts and were waiting for someone to come back and see us and nobody was around at all. Then when someone did come they dealt with the bigger table first which they had only been waiting for 5 mins. When they finally came round we just asked for the bill, paid and left.

Popped in on a Sunday afternoon with friends before going back to Sussex. The food was fantastic! I am vegetarian and the veggie skewers were so delicious! Cooked perfectly and well paired with the chilli jam, lovely skin on fries too! The others had a mixture of the lamb skewers and the Fox burgers and they were all perfect. I would just recommend that the salad is seasoned but otherwise 5/5- we will be back on our next trip to Norfolk.

Plenty to eat on each dish, in fact for me the starter which was garlic mushrooms was bigger than l thought, but very delicious. It would have been better to be a main dish because of the size. Would definitely goback. One criticism l would have preferred more items to choose from.

We went for Xmas lunch. We have eaten there before. If they had 4.5 stars, that is the score I would give. Lovely food - only one tiny problem - there was too much on each course. First time this place hasn't been a 5 star for me. Food was decent, but not anywhere near as good as usual. The chicken burger crumb was all sloppy and fell straight off the chicken as it was sooo gooey. But worst of all was the Eton Mess.....me and and wife both had it and nearly spat it out. No sweetness at all, neither of us could find any meringue, and the berries were pure sharpness and nothing else. By far the worst desert we have both had in our lives. Eton mess is the easiest thing to make and for some reason this place got it all wrong. I was going to gove a 2 star, but my wife's Turkish chicken kebab meal was great. Hoping for much better next time!

Easy to find on the Cromer Road and plenty of parking. The restaurant rates highly on tripadvisor and rightly so. The food is fresh and tasty. Staff are attentive and friendly, portions are quite considerable. I had the steak and kidney pudding, my son had the mixed grill which despite it being rather large, he managed to finish and rated it the best ever. Too full for either dessert or coffee.

Sunday lunch with the family. 2nd Sunday in a row and it didn't disappoint. Yes we had to wait a while after ordering but it was well worth it. Everything was hot and cooked to perfection. Called in here a couple of weeks ago on the off chance it would be OK, mainly due to the fact that the car park.was full :-) I must say it's one of the best meals I've had in an age, I had chicken with a mustard cream sauce, & it was fantastic. Me and my wife visited last month. I had a Mixed Grill and it was very big and very tasty! The barman was very friendly and identified a bottle of red as begin "past its best" even though my wife thought it was okay. Only niggle is that the Mixed Grill didn't state it came with Onion Rings so I ordered a side. Then my plate turned up with them anyway, I told them this and was rather hoping they would take the side off the bill, especially as we asked the waiter to give them to the table next to us. But that is the only issue we had! Coming back again for my Birthday!

Despite having a vegan choice on the menu there was no vegan dessert other than sorbet (it's not difficult to keep something in the freezer which can be defrosted) and no soya milk available for a coffee. It only costs £1 for a litre of soya milk so it wouldn't break the bank to keep one in stock just in case!

Really great food and service, we had a sharing platter which defeated us 😄 probably enough food for three in my mind (all the portions looked on the large) they Argentinan grill which is amazing really smokey meat and beef short ribs definitely recommended. my only gripe is the sad selection of beers and spirit's, for a standout food restaurant a very bland drinks selection.
