Had a lovely time at this pub. The staff were really lovely and attentive. The decor is really nice and good access to the bar. The food was very tasty but the portions were ridiculously large. I can normal eat a huge amount of food but this was excessive and I didn't have space for dessert! The good news is that I could take my leftovers away for lunch the next day!

Popped firstly for a quick pint and then for a meal on another night when staying locally. In the area for a couple of days. Ate there on the tuesday, 4 of us were the only ones in the large pub apart from a couple in another bar. Food was fine so we said we would be back the following day. We arrived to a busy full pub. Very strange, like two completely different pubs.

I fish the local lakes so come here most days for a couple of pints and can honestly say it's a lovely pub. The staff are very welcoming , helpful and above all very friendly. Clean and well kept and all together a nice experience.

We booked the day before and had lunch on the last Saturday in January. The reception was friendly and efficient with COVID temperature checks at the door. The service was excellent and the menu varied and tempting with portion sizes extremely generous. Highly recommended.

I am not familiar with Lyng but whilst out walking on the Wensum way we stumbled across the Fox. After stopping just for a coffee or a quick pint the food looked very inviting so we decided to have lunch. The staff were friendly and helpful and it is a lovely atmospheric pub. The food was delicious, fresh and more than plentiful. In fact we were so full from the huge portions they boxed up the leftovers for us for later on. It really is a delightful pub and we will be sure to return. Thanks to all the staff.

Absolutely great place. It was our second visit to The Fox . The food was amazing , big portions , excellent quality and most of all the young man that served us was absolutely brilliant. So efficient ,very friendly and nothing too much trouble in fact he made us feel like we were the only people he was serving. It is a little bit out of the way in regards to location but it would be hard to beat in terms of the food and service.

This pub/ restaurant was very friendly and most of the food was very nice. I was a little disappointed that our main meal was served as soon as our starter plates were taken away. It would have been nice to have a couple if minutes in between courses. My main meal was a ribeye steak. It was served with a mass of skinny Mcdonald type fries and a tomato and mushroom. I was expecting some salad on the plate, unless I had read the menu incorrectly, but there was nothing else with it. With the lack of any salad, some peas would have been nice as it was hard to eat all of these chips with nothing to go with them. The steak had a lot of sinew in and I had to leave 1/4 of it as I couldn't cut it up. I would definitely go back as the rest of the meal was lovely.

Lunchtime today we had lunch at The Fox. I had tempura chicken and my fellow diners had the calve's liver. The food was wonderful, one of the best pub meals we have ever had. Only downside was that the pub was a bit cold.

The Fox is a cracking village pub, and I wish it was closer ie in our village! Good selection of beers and spirits, their street food events are really popular too. As a vegan and vegetarian couple the food menu caters for both, which is good. We don't use this place enough but when we have, we've never been disappointed.

Haven't been here, in 2 years or so. Was plesantly surprised to find out that my Rump was cooked to a proper medium-rare. Peppercorn sauce wasnt too peppery, and had a great smooth, creamy texture. Mango sorbet was covered in Freezer burn. Made it rather unappetising to eat. Generally speaking; service was good, atmosphere was okay.

First time here and first impressions were good. Food was plentiful, wife had chicken and seafood paella and I has the pie of the day. Lots of tables in bar area and has separate restaurant area too. Has a pool table and darts board as well to keep you occupied. There is an open fire which I can imagine in the winter looks and feels amazing. Staff were incredibly friendly and we even spoke to the chef who seemed nice too (his food certainly was. Lots of choice on the menu and during the weekdays they have better value options. Seemed to have good range of drinks and some special ales (which i guess change after a period of time). Biggish gravel car park at the back of the property and all set in a beautiful Norfolk village. Great place and will be back.

First time visit for a girls night, staff friendly, parking a bit of an issue, especially as one of us is disabled. Not overly impressed with the thin white toast with my pate, would suggest half a baguette or a thicker cut wholemeal bread. The pork on the other hand was delicious as was the mash and the desserts were nice. Would definitely go back. Might try the crispy soft boiled egg next time! 😁

My wife and I moved into this area only two weeks ago. I found The Fox in a search for nice pubs. A lunch time drink there last week endorsed it's award-winning status. The front bar is a typically intimate venerable English pub. However beyond it is a beautifully proportioned contemporary second bar and restaurant. We had Sunday lunch there today in wonderful, plainly decorated surroundings, enjoying a beautifully balanced chicken curry, and excellent fish and chips. The young staff were quite superb, obviously well-trained and actually enjoying their roles. Congratulations to all. (Just to warn the staff that as we only live about three miles away, we are planning to become regulars, very regularly!)

The food was superb. Both the fish and chips with perfect batter and a nice sized portion as well as braised beef cooked to perfection with bubble and squeak. Well worth a visit, not been there before but will be going again. Highly recommended.

Had a really great meal,the staff were very friendly and helpful. As a wheelchair user the bar and restaurant is very accessible from the enterence off the main car park. The only improvement I would suggest is designated disabled parking near the enterence path on a hard standing surface as wheelchairs don't do well on gravel. Overall very pleased the deserts are just so very tasty so always leave some room.

While staying at the nearby Lenwade Hotel we hiked across to this pub via the Wensum river trail and enjoyed a warm welcome, good cooled ales and some delicious food. Reading some of these reviews made me wonder if this was the same place! The warm atmosphere was amplified by the original restored fireplace and other architectural features which blend the old and new to create a fine modern pub experience, without losing old world charm and history of the place.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to everyone at the Fox at Lyng. We had food from their xmas menu on 13th Dec at lunch time. The seafood linguine was delicious and the beef to.
