J. W.Friendly welcome and a comfortable environment. Decent range of beers at realistic prices, with some tempting bottles and cans as well. Not keen on allowing seating that blocks the view of the available beers (fortunately mostly a thing of the past), but the pub has the beer list on Untappd so that sufficed me. Didn't have food, but looked like some interesting options
J. H.Had loaded fries and sampled the flights of local ales, superb. Excellent value and we escaped the rain during the thunder and lightning storm. Very pleasant staff and great atmosphere as locals arrived.
A.We went around lunch time and ordered some burgers. DELICIOUS! I highly recommend any burger on the menu. You might get a little messy. Luckily, they have a nice and clean bathroom located downstairs to clean up in.
I faulted a star for the staff. Upon entering the establishment, a woman at the bar just smiled and said “hi”. I was a little lost since there were reservation notes on almost every table. I asked if we just pick any table to sit at and she said yes or you can order at the bar and sit. So I stood at the bar and asked for a menu, the same woman said I needed to sit at a table in order to see the menu.. then go back to the bar to order. We found a cute table near a window view of the river. Once we got the menu’s, I asked “so are you a waitress or do we need to order at the bar and she looked confused and said order with me (the waitress)… okay.
It would have been much better to have been greeted and told directly “choose any table with no reservation on it or a time that is later and then someone will come to serve you.” Instead I was left scrambling to understand how to order anything! Haha
Also, you must pay for any additional sauces like ketchup, mayonnaise, etc for your chips (50p). I thought that was a little ridiculous just for something to dip some chips in casually. I’ve never seen that before at a sit down restaurant.
Anyways, the joint is really clean and cute with a wonderful view and delicious food. I will be back!

I can't count the number of times I've enjoyed times in The Ribs. Best selection of ales and ciders in Norwich, as far as I know!
A great pub by the river, with a jetty that's lovely to sit out on in the summer. Outstanding venue hosting quizzes and live music.
THE FOOD:
The kitchen provides some really delicious food that competes with the best Norwich has to offer in terms of flavour and sheer quality. Amazing burgers, loaded chips, tortillas and more. Get it. You won't regret it.
N. F.Perfect. We paddled to the pub and were thrilled to be able to moor up and get a table on the balcony overlooking the water. Our waiter was friendly and very knowledgeable. The Chef was also very helpful and the food was delicious. Hours later and my husband is still going on about how much he loved his burger. We don't eat out very often so to pay for a meal that was freshly cooked, reasonably priced and super tasty was a real treat 😋 👌
L. J.Really decent food. Reasonably priced. I just wish they had a proper drinks menu available as it's table service. Would have made ordering more drinks easier.
D. B.Found this place by accident with my wife. Really loved the drinks selection (offered tasters of two without even being asked). The seating outside and inside is great. However for us it was the service that we loved. Very friendly and helpful welcome. The food is apparently provided by a separate company, but it doesn't show and the quality was great.
If I lived in Norwich this would be my regular without a doubt.

M.Just wanted to say what a lovely place this is, not only because of the beautiful location next to the river or the extraordinarily tasty burger I had, but mostly because of the super-attentive and friendly staff. They really engaged with us and couldn’t do enough for us, moving us to a better table that came up, frequently checking if we needed anything, anticipating our needs and all with big smiles on their faces.
If only all places were run this way! Well done ROB, keep up the good work 👍

Was nice to sit outside on a warm sunny evening with a nice beer and staff, lovely traditional pub with a friendly atmosphere!!
C. C.Lovely pub, with many real ales and European beers on tap. Not forgetting craft cans and draft beers available. Seen many a live band here, one for the family as well as your mates. A true Norwich institution.
