A lovely warm welcome. Good room with a comfortable bed. Clean bathroom with a lovely shower. I had the full English for breakfast which was well cooked. Danish pastries, croissants, fruit, cereal and yoghurt was also available along with the usual teas and coffee. Quiet location, a little away from the city centre but within walking distance of the tram which made a visit to the city centre very enjoyable.

Definitely getting a 5* from me. It's the cheapest hotel I've ever stayed in because I knew I wasn't going to spend much time in the room because I had booked things to do around the area while visiting family but oh my! This is well worth a visit. I paid £60 for me and my 2 children (that included breakfast) the room was clean and fairly big. The beds were comfy! The shower was powerful and the staff were extremely welcoming and helpful. We all slept really well and the safety chain on the door made me feel really secure being as though I was alone with my two children. The next day my Auntie joined me for breakfast for £7.95 and it was delicious. Most of us had a full English and we could get orange juice, fruit, crumpets, yogurts, cereal and croissants from the counter if we wanted them which was handy as my oldest son ordered a bacon sandwich and didn't want it after half (typical child) so he had a muffin and a orange instead. I will 100% stay here again when I visit my family. A well spent £60! Thank you The Bowman Hotel.

Great cute ground floor room in a Courtyard. Very reasonable price (£36) Meal in the pub that night was also lovely. We were the last ones in, but nobody rushed us out. Will definitely be back again when visiting family.

First time staying at a Green King hotel and we were very pleased with it. Plenty of free parking and upon arrival received a pleasant welcome by the receptionist. The layout of the rooms were a little different. Definitely gave a feel of a motel but not in a bad way. Actually quite liked how it appeared. The room we had was very spacious for the 3 of us. Beds were comfortable and we all had a lovely night's sleep. Went into the pub for breakfast and again it didn't disappoint. Friendly staff and the food was really good. Would definitely recommend this place.

Decent food only lost one star for not a very large meat portion I felt like they were trying to turn me vegan plus the plate was flooded with instant gravy. The service was good. Mens toilets were flooded when I visited and there was no warning sign.

We stayed 4nights. The hotel staff were so friendly and was always very helpful. The room we had was very spacious and clean. We had our breakfast at the pub. Plenty to choose from. We also had lunch on Tuesday 2 course for £4.99 and dinner 2meals for £10.99 on Thursday with some friends. Very good value for the price. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Definitely going back to stay again soon.

well what can I say we popped into the bowman last night for the wings deal and I have to say the service was second to none. Highly recommend the Bowman, came for a quick dinner but the place was so welcoming we stayed most of the night. Served by Lisa who couldn’t do enough for us. I will definitely be back soon, in fact ended up booking a family get together here!

Visited here on an ad hoc visit for a spot of lunch and yes you think is just a run of the mill Chain but the food was amazing the drinks were good and the staff were attentive and welcoming. Lovely food and atmosphere, the pub is nicely decorated and has a warm feeling to it. The rooms are clean, warm and big. The beds are comfortable and the shower is powerful. The receptionist was very welcoming and very easy to talk to. Compliments to her(didn't get her name sorry) would stay here again no hesitation and will just do that next time I am passing for work. Recommend a visit if you get a chance to.

They’ve done an amazing job on doing the place up; excellent procedures in place with regards to COVID, social distancing etc. Food is plentiful, hot and fresh. You know what to expect but it is done well nonetheless. Always leave stuffed! Plenty of choice too. Lots of soft drink alternatives for sugar free soft drinks, alcohol a bit on the pricey side but can’t all be perfect! Stayed in a room in June 2022 and it was quiet, clean, efficient and comfy. Would recommend if in area trying it!

I havnt been in the bowman for many years so me and my husband decided to try it. Just completed an extended 7 week stay at the Bowman Hotel. Very clean, large room with a good size bathroom. Reception and housekeeping staff ALL excellent and friendly and always smiling, but I must make special mention of Natalie (head housekeeper) who provided great help when I needed to switch rooms and to receptionist Charlotte (long brown hair) who organised a minibus on departure and confirmed this on the morning of departure. The hotel itself has plenty of parking and is ideally situated for road transport to the surrounding area and is only a 10 minute walk to the nearest tramstop for easy access to Nottingham. We will definitely be staying there again upon our return to England

Staff was not very friendly, didn't see one member crack a smile, we had a Sunday dinner, when we asked for condiments the waitress nodded towards the silver bucket she had just placed on the table, we checked inside there were tomato sauce, BBQ sauce, brown sauce but none you would put on a roast dinner, anyway waitress had vanished so no one was around to ask for a sachet of horseradish and no one came to ask if food was ok we ate and left. food was average....Ate at this place alot before covid and lock down never had one complaint it's definitely gone down hill

Lovely warm welcome, we were made to feel really safe with all social distancing measures in place and a lot better than other pubs we’ve been in for food this week. We were seated straight away in the top corner table 4 or 5 I believe. Lots on the menu but decided for the Sunday roast beef. Really well presented and steaming hot. Our server was Nikki I think? And Abbie was on the bar both really attentive and made to feel at home, will definitely visit again soon.

Love this place the service, the food the staff and quality has been awesome on my visits here, when and if some thing hasn't been up to standard they get it sorted with it making you feel like your being a pain. They have an App so you can order from your table and the turn around from order to eating has been pretty dam good too. They are taking the time to make sure they have a log of anyone who has visited the premises via electronic method should the worst happen in this current uncertain times. Will deffinately be going back for more.

Disgusted in the place. Nothing on the menu. Gave a excuse that a fridge had broken but then took a delivery. There was still dirt all over tables and seats (we were one of the first in for lunch service... It used to be a very good place to go... But I'd not recommend it for a dogs boarding house in the state its in now.. I will post a picture of what I had to wipe of the seat before we could sit down... We left without eating as we had small children who dint like the things they had ie steaks... Photo attached of onions or something on the seats and like I said we were poss first in so the place should of been spotless I have other photos of the floor and tables covered in muck and mess... One other thing I noticed is the had flowers in old pots for the table numbers but on another table the flowers were missing and a used kebab stick or food stick of some sort was in the pot... Disgusting place

We went there the other Thursday as there was an offer for burgers and drinks. We were quite surprised by the meals as they weren't really very expensive and really delicious at the same time! So definitely will go there again for a meal. Drinks were good as well but there aren't any drink menus at the tables so that would be something to look into for management. Other than that - nice local pub.

The food is very nice pub meals. Friendly staff. Great service. -They have a seperate gluten free menu available on the tables, this is so important for people with this issue. It can be hard to know just by looking at a menu alone, not everyone wants/likes having to ask the staff. This was so nice to see. -Also have vegan, vegetarian and other others. Lovely outdoor seating area for summer.

I had 40 people guests for my son's 1st birthday. The party was upstairs at the function room. We have ordered from the menu. Everyone commented on how large are the portions, how delicious is the food, how lovely the staff are and what a great time we had!!! Went to the Bowman last night for a family meal (all adults). The staff were fantastic but the meal was only moderate one of the 7 was returned, but the replacement was fine. However we did find this a rather noisy place to eat. We purchased the enormous brain freeze dessert and with 7 of us eating we only just managed to get to the bottom of the dish - so be warned !!!

Gave the Bowman another chance and met up with friends there. It appears to have been refurbished and has a new food menu. Had a Stack Burger which was really tasty and great value. The venue has definitely improved so have amended my review based on this to 4 stars. Will definitely return. Decided to go for an evening walk around Mill Lakes in Bestwood so thought The Bowman was ideal choice to get an evening meal based on the location, however this turned out to be wrong. We arrived around 7:30pm found a table outside due to nice weather venue didn't seem to be very busy inside as staff were cleaning tables. We chose our food and ordered at around 7:40pm we were told there was a 20 minute wait for food, I asked at the bar if a member of staff could wipe the table outside as it was sticky from previous use we had brought in the empty glasses on the table to the bar, I was assured someone would come and wipe it, no one bothered. Just after 8pm we asked a member of staff if the food was coming out as we had seen people who ordered after us getting food. She came back out and told us it was being plated up in the kitchen and would be brought out. A further 10 minutes passed and still no food, went into the bar and asked again. Same response it was being plated up and would be brought out shortly. The food did arrive a few minutes after this but it really wasn't worth it. I had the 'Cod Father' fish and chips. The fish batter was very hard and difficult to cut into and the fish was very oily. Chips were cooked ok. My girlfriend had a New York Deli Burger, this was served cold, the fries were under cooked and the coleslaw that came with the meal had separated and looked bad. The meals were really disappointing. We were asked by a waitress about the food after being served and said it was 'ok' as we just wanted to leave and not complain or wait again. Also the female toilets had no soap to wash hands or locks on any of the doors. The experience has made us not want to return to this pub again. I just wish I had seen the other reviews before going.

I had my 40 th birthday party at the pub last night (10th March,) and I couldn't have been treated better by staff. The food was lovely, staff very accommodating as we moved half the pub around and nothing was a problem. Can't recommend Maria the manager enough and the staff for the help before the party and on the night thank you all so much. Will definitely come back for meals.

For the second we had to queue for 40 minutes and the told we would have to wait up to an hour for food. Staff are pleasant enough, but disappointing for 8pm on a Thursday night. It was a fairly busy night but we were served efficiently and professionally. My mother organised for 35 people to attend the bowmans Christmas party, we was crammed in, not much room for anyone. The food was rushed out and felt like they had cooked it to early prior to when we wanted it but wasn't to bad in taste just very rushed, music was done for 11.00 like a teenagers party. Some staff was pleasant,particulary the older gentleman with glasses I cannot recall his name but he was very well mannered and was always making sure we had what we ordered.
