An interesting and tucked away hidden gem in the centre of Nottingham, in the Lace Market serving beers of the craft type and wines too.
The interior is quite quirky, cool pictures on the wall, a drinks tray made from a skateboard deck.
There is plenty of seating (important for me, since I have reached the age when I only go out if I can sit down) and I think I saw a separate room as well.
R. L.
World class beer selection. The food was very high quality and was thoroughly enjoyed. Staff knowledgeable and friendly.
Would definitely recommend.
B. W.
Great beer today. A welcoming place, lovely staff. It's so good to see them open again.
P. R.
Nice spot. We had lovely vegetarian food, and there was a nice looking meaty options to. Always a great selection of beers, so plan plenty of time to try them all. I would definetely come back here.
M. H.
Good selection of constantly changing craft beers. Very nice, but pricey.
A. R.
Love it in here great choice of beers good bar snacks lovely staff. Nice and out of the way
D. S.
Visit was Pre-COVID. This place was highly recommended by the barman at the Barley Twist. It didn't disappoint. Everything was spot on. The beer selection, the friendly staff and the clean toilets. We spent just over 2 hours here relaxing and me sampling all the great craft beers. Sam enjoyed her Gin & tonics. Highly recommend and on the to list when back in Nottingham.
I. M.
Great small bar. Down an alley way so a little tricky to locate. Nice selection of real ales on tap. Nice layout to the seating .
B. E.
Absolutely awesome craft beer bar, a must visit if you like craft.
Huge range of keg beer, seriously impressive.
A superb selection of cans and bottles is available to take out including limited releases and fairly hard to find beers.
Nice, fairly basic but clean bright and modern decor with a small but perfectly fine outside area.
The food is also really good we had pizza, mac & cheese balls and halloumi fries, it was all well made and good quality.
Friendly staff who are genuinely helpful, kind of tucked away but well worth a visit.
V. G.
Covid safe venue. Met by a lovely fella who advised us of the current guidelines and told us to take a seat.
Great selection of keg beers with a couple of local Nottingham breweries.
Tried the Black Iris Little Nipper and Neon Raptor Leaping Llamas. Both delicious. Came back the following day and was impressed that he recognised us, especially with face masks on! Very impressed with the service and the beer 🍺
L. P.
The fact that these guys still have 15 taps on atm says a lot. Got to be the best selection of sours in Notts. Yonder Brewing Quince Elizabeth was the highlight today. As soon as a table was vacant the staff immediately cleaned down the surfaces so felt very at ease. Polite and attentive table service. Reduced food menu of flatbreads but tasted cracking.
M. V.
It's good. It's funky. But it's a bit too expensive and uppity to my liking. Also, craft brewing is soooo pre covid...
g. d.
One of the best pubs in Nottingham. Always amazing beers on tap, staff are brilliant.
T. C.
Really good bar. Not too far from the center. Has plenty of real ales at a reasonable price and some hard to find Euro beers on tap.
E. B.
Fantastic pub, really cosy and such a vast range of craft drinks. Staff are friendly and helpful and food looks great. A must visit if you are in the area.
J. H.
Just had a pizza off the specials board. Was great. Huge selection of IPA and specialities. Staff were friendly and helpful. Nice quiet Sunday afternoon having some beers. Will come again. Thanks.
D. P.
Hidden gem tucked down a long alleyway. Great selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere.
S. S.
Lovely little outside seating area and a good selection of sour beers!
M. M.
Fantastic gem of a place selling the best that keg beer has to offer and incredible food. Go and seek this place out you won't be disappointed!
J. K.
Great selection of beer on tap and in the fridges to take away. Probably one of the most expensive beer places in Nottingham and doesn't really stock cheaper beers if going with friends who aren't into their pricier craft beer.
The food is pretty great and consistent coming from next door at the Hilbert Kilpin, from burgers to steak.
However really great service and bar staff with a friendly atmosphere, it gets super busy sometimes but it's a pretty big bar with space. At lunchtime it's a much more chilled affair with plenty of space for a working lunch.
L. N.
Great craft beer bar with a good vibe. Also does food. We always have a good time and especially enjoy the Imperial stouts. Only downside is the ridiculous cappage charge if you want to drink one of their cans or bottles in the bar, so be warned.
B. W.
Good food and awesome selection of beer. What more could you want. To the member of staff on his laptop checking in beer: cheer up :)
J. B.
Loved this place. Excellent selection of drinks (especially the beer), food looks good (haven’t yet tried it) and the atmosphere was great. It’s easy to miss with its location but well worth a visit on Friday/Saturday evening.
j. b.
Nice place. Felt for them as the draft Putty hadn't arrived. Got cans though and compensated with a free coffee, very 👍, thanks
C. F.
First time visiting here and really enjoyed the different beers on offer. You could choose between 3rds, half pints or full pints. I don't get why it's called Junkyard though and it was very expensive!
F. S.
This is a lovely tucked away little spot, stumbled upon it by accident but so glad we did, staff friendly, great offering of food and drinks, plenty of different areas to sit and eat and/or drink, we chose outside as the weather being nice, like a proper pub beer garden, there was a projector screen but as it was bright out couldn't fully see it but can imagine looks great at night, service was quick and the food delicious, there was music playing but not so loud that it was a struggle to talk over.
Will definitely be going again!!
w. t.
Cool hidden gem in small corner. Nice friendly staff. Busy but great place with cool atmosphere. Offering food too as well as variety of drinks. Lovely bar, beer garden, indoor outdoor seating, what else u need. Just order a pint of beer n enjoy
K.
Great places, nice courtyard to vist in the hot nights.
d. b.
Popped in foe a beer, lots of great choices, great staff and allowed to try various options to get the beer I liked, 🍺
D. H.
Always superb. If they don't have something on draft you want then the fridges will offer plenty of alternatives. Great beer, great service, great bar
S. B.
Top bar sell worth a visit for beer lovers
L. A.
Great selection of beers on tap.friendly helpful staff and sone nice food as well.my fave place in Nottingham for a drink after work.
C. C.
Interesting beers both on tap and in bottles. The menu looks good as well. Nice to sit in the courtyard when the weather is nice.
J. C.
Awesome place for craft beer in the middle of Nottingham. Great friendly staff. Will be back
T. P.
Interesting beers of a very wide variety. Served in 2/3 pints for the price of a full premium pint anywhere else. Staff are not unfriendly but definitely aren't bothered. Background music is all over the place and not very good on average. It's hipster and it's only skin deep as it's really just another watering hole with trendy cheap interiors.
Give it a go but don't expect too much
D. W.
Lovely staff great beers fantastic atmosphere
D. V.
Probably my favourite place for quality beer in Nottingham. If you haven't been, what are you waiting for!? 😁
A. C.
Great selection of beer. Loved the food too and good service
P. B.
Absolutely love this place. Amazing selection of craft beers both on draft and in can. We only popped in for one drink but stayed for hours thanks to the great selection of beers. There was a great atmosphere, good music and bar staff were really lovely. Didn't try the food but the menu looked good. Can't wait to get back to Nottingham just to visit again.
R. N.
Great beers, great environment. Beer is "expensive" but it is quality and well worth a visit for a beer or two and a snack. Give yourself time as you will have a large list to choose from but bar staff have all the knowledge, so ask. Or do what I did and try a few!
O. S.
This is a must stop and have a beer place, so many different IPA's, pale ales etc etc. If your in Notts makesure you dont miss it. Staff are super friendly and helpful.
E.
Hidden gem for beer lovers!
Music : 3.5
Drinks : 4.5
Service : 5

A. M.
Love the Junkyard, always a great choice of beers on tap and in the fridge, from pale ales, IPAs, lagers, stouts, sours and just about everything in between.
A. K.
What an amazing place! We found it a couple of months back after a Poets of the Fall concert at Rock City. We got lost in Notts and we somehow ended up there. It's a semi-hidden place in an alleyway but it's worth checking out. It has all sorts of costume beers for all beer lovers. It is a bit expensive but I think it's amazing if you're looking for a nice drink somewhere and the plan isn't to get smashed.
S. L.
Great bar modeled on places on the west coast of the USA - lots of seats at the bar. American style food and an amazing selection of craft beer featuring regular US imports. First place I've been with a selection of different picklebacks. Good selection of beers in the fridge with a takeaway discount.
L. M.
A really nice place for a beer that manages to stay laid back and relaxed even when it's packed full. Good selection of beers, often with multiple beers from the same brewery. Nice little beer garden/courtyard at the back that allows access to the sister pub Herbert Kilpin. The beer garden is mostly full of smokers however, so isn't much fun if you want some fresh air. It would be nice if the garden was no-smoking as there is plenty of space around the front of the bar that would be better suited for smoking
W. P.
great selection of craft beers, chill atmosphere, very friendly staff, one of my go-to places in Nottingham!
C.
Love this place! Food is divine, especially the brunch/breakfast menu. Always fast and friendly service. It's a modern and popular place, representing the best of Nottingham's booming food and drink industry. Lovely place to hang out, nice for all. It's regular hang out for me, and I always find it good value!
m. p. (. T. A.
Very cool place if you like cider or craft beer/real ale. Was recommended by a close friend and is a popular place for meeting up. An interesting feature is how the place shares a beer garden with a neighbouring venue, allowing you to freely travel between the two.
N. W.
Usual good craft beer .
S. G.
A fantastic range of beers you won't get anywhere else. It's the holy grail of craft beer pubs with salty, grapefruit, chocolate and rhubarb flavours (though not necessarily in the same glass!). Friendly staff and interesting food make for a great destination.
D. B.
I've been coming in here from the moment it opened over 5 years ago and it has always been my go to for a nice craft beer. Cannot fault it. Food is proper nice too. Probably my favourite bar in Nottingham. 👌
J. C. A.
Long list of different draft beers. They keep changing the beers from time to time, so dont fall in love with any as probably wont be there the next time. The beer garden they have in the back is really nice with sunny/summery weather. The also serve nice food kind of nibbles/sharers
S. G.
Amazing beer selection both on tap and in the fridges. Food is great, loved the mac and cheese balls. Sat at the bar on last visit and nice and friendly staff & customers!
p. m.
Junkyard is kind of hidden away but worth hunting out. The beer options here are wide, there is easily a beer for most tastes. They have a revolving draught selection with 15 different options (see the chalkboard behind the bar for the current selection). The staff know their onions and can always give some good advice if you're struggling to decide (that is the only downside, the choice can be overwhelming). They also do very good food here, plus a well stocked fridge of take home beers.
S. C.
Food is fantastic! Tacos are delicious and the burgers! Good selection of beer and Gin options with really nice staff. Best find and seems to attract a more middle aged crowd rather than students or old pubs
G. T.
Quaint little bar with very warm and inviting staff, good selection of guest ales
J. A.
Probably my favourite bar for craft beer in Nottingham, always a fantastic range of beers on tap, staff are friendly and happy to help find you a beer that you will enjoy, and the bar snacks are absolutely fantastic. Spent far too many an afternoon propping up the bar after popping in for a cheeky one.
S. M.
Best craft beer pub I've been to, bar none. Great selection on tap, well stocked fridge, and a relaxed happy atmosphere. Highly recommended!
J. M.
Visited here because my son got a job here food was lovely beer selection was extensive with an amazing selection of craft beers they even let you sample the drinks before you buy which I found to be extremely helpful because the drinks I was going to order I didn't like when I sample it. Overall a lovely place to visit with extremely friendly and amenable staff.
A.
Great selection of beer that always changes and there is always a good atmosphere. Service is good and quick everytime I've visited.
This place is a bit of a dive though... bit dirty, smells like toilet cleaner inside and outside is covered in cigarette ash.
M. C.
If it is real ales and chunky sweaters you're after this is the place. Only came for the ales but did notice some tables nicely set out upstairs, couldn't comment in the food. A place you can have a nice drink and talk amongst your group.
D. J.
Service was very slow to begin with but that was because their was only one person behind the bar. Not being used to this concept I did not realise that if you do not want a draught beer you pick your bottle of from the fridge. The food was excellent. Anita liked her Cheese Board and the Eggs Benedict where very good. The only suggestions I would make are to have more bar staff and also have much more Belgian Beer available. American Beer is not a patch on Belgian Beer.
B. S. (.
Absolute hidden gem. Friendly and welcoming.
C. B.
No menus to take to your table and could have more info on the craft beers they have in. Nice atmosphere and good smoking area though
N. T.
Oh, Junkyard, you sly temptress. When the night seems to begin to slumber, when the doors slam shut and when the students descend into clubs and discotheques, your warm, friendly welcome reminds one of Edward Hopper's Nighthawks but with booze.
Open till god knows when, Junkyard combines a welcoming atmosphere with the comfort to sit by yourself and ruminate if that's your wont. The beer is craft and overpriced, but then you're paying for the friendly staff, the convenient hours, the open-minded atmosphere and the constantly changing selection that adds variety to any week and any night.
Staff are indeed a considerable plus of the place, and they know their beer just as well as they know their customers. The venue is low-lit and low-key, but can bustle as much as any mainstream bar and fizzle with excitement. The crowd are often interesting and alive with conversation, but the introvert need not feel out of place either.
Hidden down one of Nottingham's lesser-known passageways, Junkyard is for many a last stop before the tram or stagger home, and a punctuation point in any evening. Pull up a stool, sup a beer you've never tasted before (nor will again) and decide whether your night is over or whether, as Mr Spock tells us, "there are always possibilities."
R. S.
Excellent range of craft beers in this Nottingham bar. Cool decor and great vibe. Staff are always friendly and let u taste a beer before you buy.
D. F.
The beer selection is trying to be different, but it tends to end up being bland and expensive. There are plenty of good beer pubs in and around Nottingham. Among them this one ranks "ok". It would be a good place to play spot the hipster if it wasn't quite so easy.
C. N.
Simply the best taphouse/pub in all of Nottingham. If you enjoy quality craft beer, knowledgeable staff and a lovely welcoming environment you'd be hard pressed to find anything better!
Z. 1.
Great pub, nice outdoor area and friendly staff! What more could you ask for?
S. B.
So cool it hurts, can be a little intimidating for non beer drinkers but the cocktail menu is a hidden gem 💎
S.
You could be forgiven for walking right past this unassuming little boozer, located down the tiny Bridlesmith Walk in Nottingham city centre, but you'll be glad you didn't when you go in. Welcoming and pleasant, with a constantly changing list of beers from around the world, this is the perfect place to start off (or indeed, conclude) a refined night out.
O. M.
Junkyard is a cool little bar full of alsorts of beers. There is a big board of specials on draught and a few fridges rammed with bottles and cans.
The staff are friendly and helpful, the doorstaff too which makes a nice change.
There's a little beer garden out the back and they often do bbqs in the summer.
It's normally pretty busy in the evenings especially at the weekend.
T. H.
Great food and fantastic selection (24) of craft beers. The food is interesting and tasty, even if the portions are on the small side. Good service too.
D. W.
Super choice of craft beers that are always revolving, and the staff have a great knowledge.
Can be a little hard to get served due to the bar stools.
Little pricey, but you get what you pay for.
P. M.
The new menu is great and is themed as California Street Food. The sea bass tacos were delicious as were the soft shelled crab sliders we tried. Oh and the buffalo fries too. And that is even before mentioning the beer!
B. H.
Excellent bar, superb staff, amazing beer, good music.
It's a colossal shame the clientelle on a saturday night, are often the most entitled pr1cks you have ever met. Rude, arrogant, and pushy.
Still at least it is free of chavs.
M. D.
Oh yessssssss indeed
Oh wow. Beer lovers get in here, it's the best luxury in town
P. L.
What a place...!!!!! Great beers, ciders & Ambiance. Food is first class also. Anyone liking real ales and craft beer, a must visit...
R. B.
Great service and lovely brunch. The corn fritters in Satay sauce are to die for as is the Imperial Stout!
A great selection of drinks and a nice atmosphere. I will be back!
L. H.
Amazing selection of nice beers from all over the place, friendly staff and a nice atmosphere. One of my favorite bars in the area when I visit.
a. s.
One of my favourite places to drink in Nottingham. Friendly staff, cool vibe, and great beer selection. Only issue is that it's so popular you'll struggle to find seating!
P. L.
This is the most established craft beer venue in Nottingham. It's range always has something and it blends Scandinavian imports with Mancunian ones while still attending to the local. If the sun is out repair to the interior courtyard.
G. A.
Great selection of beers, had some really tasty food. Staff are really helpful and friendly. If you've not been find it
S. L.
Lovely beer, great range, can be a little expensive but it's not your average pub!
c. m.
Pretty decent beer place, loads of choices. However it is on the pricey side, a pint of house larger will set you back a fiver
J. M.
Fantastic selection of craft beers. Staff always happy to give tasters. Nice atmosphere.
D. M. (.
Great selection of ales and beer
J. L.
A bit too cool for its own good, and fairly pricey, but great beer selection and nice atmosphere. Gets busy with the after work crowd, so get there early and get settled.
P. S.
Loved it relaxed atmosphere and great selection of beers
J. D.
Super helpful staff guided my purchase of a beverage-shaped gift for a friend. Clearly knowledgeable and interested in their stock, I'm confident I made the right choice!
R. J.
Had some homemade nibbles and skateboard of different beer types. Excellent beers and quality of food. Highly recommended for real ales and bottled beers
A. D.
It is hard to find for tourist as it is in a narrow street. The outside is particularly pretty and pleasant, but it is quite expensive and they don't have bloody mary drink.
H. N. P. L.
Great selections of beers. Staff and food are top notch as well.
C. G.
Great selection of craft, nice atmosphere.
A. W.
Great variety of craft beers and lovely food although the beer is quite pricey
S. D.
Excellent place to visit in Nottingham if you want some amazing beers, you can either enjoy in the bar or you can take beers away that are in the fridges or in a growler if there is a beer you love that much!
A. W.
Fantastic choice of beers, staff were really nice too! been a couple of times and next time i'm down in the area i will be going again!
I. W.
Craft beer choice excellent. Food great. Soft, filled tacos delicious. Staff lovely.
C. d. G.
Probably the best place in town for craft beer. Can get a little too crowded on the weekend if you just fancy a beer without a queue on a Friday probably try elsewhere.
S. C.
Nice place with really nice food. Went there for brunch and had steak and bubble and squeak (which was delicious). Good drink selection.
A. J.
Great selection, service and atmosphere. Ordered kimchi, which was promptly delivered. Staff were knowledgeable and friendly and were able to recommend drinks based on my preferences.
W. C.
Really nice place with a great variety of drinks! Could perhaps do with a better snack selection though!
B. P.
I love english pubs, you step in and you know you are in England.
But this one is different, you could be anywhere in Europe. Until do not taste their beers.
R.
A cool bar with a fantastic, changing selection of craft beers. Really nice vibe to the place. Outside space at the back too.

My fave craft beer bar in Nottingham. Awesome selection of beers. Friendly knowledgeable staff.
P. M.
Lots of ale here a bit on the expensive side and you have to pay extra for a pint but it's decent ale. It gets very busy in the evening.
P. A.
Love this place. Effing expensive but quality for the price. Superb place. Superb service BUT the staff need to engage more with the customers. When we're paying these prices we need to feel loved ❤️
I. S.

S. K.
Had a great time here, loved the huge selection of craft beer, and the chefs selection of cheese for the cheese board was perfect.

Nice food, good atmosphere...coffee was awful thought not sure if it was the type of coffee or if the beans had been burnt when brewing.
