A. T.🖤 Love this place, It looks so amazing. Friendly staff , and on the odd occasion, I've had food and it's been good 🙂 I usually call in when I visit Nottingham for a gig. And the, ' Library ' downstairs brings a new meaning to.....' Read the room ' .....😆🤣 ( If you know, you know 😂) 🖤😎🦇💀🖤
E. R.Really cool aesthetic, quite gothic and the menu is themed around sins and legends, and it looks like an old book too. We went on a week day around 8pm/9pm ish so a lot quieter. The toilets are hidden behind a bookcase which is really cool. I had 2 drinks, one was sloth and one was lust. Sloth was like a milky coffee with whipped cream and lust was a fruity, coconutty drink (lust was definitely the one I preferred but both nice). Only thing I would say if youre going and want your money's worth just ask for less ice so you get more drink. The pictures below are my drinks and a picture of the loo purely because someone put googly eyes on it and found it quite funny 🤣
A. D.This pub is brilliant.the atmosphere and staff are great. Food menu has something for everyone at reasonable prices. Love the cocktails. Love going for a quiet meal during the day. The night life and music there are also very good. It has upstairs and downstairs. The theme of this pub is awesome and being a rocker I fit right in! Toilets are clean. Personally I prefer downstairs to upstairs but either way it's probably my favourite pub in nottingham.
D. L.Fantastic place great food excellent staff. Finding the toilets is interesting 😉 Halloween in here is epic. The beers top notch and you are always welcomed. Just popped in on st Patrick's day for a pint and some woffle fries. With cheese and bacon of course. I LOVE IT HERE.

The barman tending to the downstairs bar, close to the loo's, seemed very disinterested & unhelpful when I asked for the two cocktails listed on the menu. As a result I didn't order the drinks I wanted but otherwise a good place.

P. I.Fantastic as always. Especially the food, we had some burgers, one of the share plates, macaroni and a curry, all the food was great - came quite quickly, and tasted very nice. Good selection of drinks at the bar, and a decent sized menu with lots to choose from. Vegan options too.

J. A.Such a unique venue and important part of the vibe of our city centre. Brilliant gothic stylings, rock soundtrack, fun themed cocktails, great selection of beers on tap and bottled with an always satisfying food menu to choose from. Has a fantastic 'hidden' bookcase entrance to the toilet's that still confuses me every time I go (in a good way!). Awesome staff and the manager is a legend!

A. V.Drinks are nice enough here and reasonably priced, I feel they skimp on the alcohol a little. The décor is interesting. On this occasion the toilets weren't as clean as I would expect and quite dim. Improve the drinks back to what they used to be by adding more of the fruit purees and look into maintaining the loos better to make this a 5*

J. S.Food was amazing and well portioned. The cocktail menu is extensive and thr drinks look superb when they turn up to your table. Service time was very fast too.
A.I usually love going here but after a long day of a convention I came here with a bubble tea. (Pretty expensive too) a member of staff said "you can't drink that in here" snatched it off me rudely and threw it in the bin instead of asking me to drink it outside. Bubble tea is expensive and that's £6 of my money in the bin.
Edit: I handed it over feeling forced, the woman held her hand out as if to say hand it over, I have high anxiety and didn't know what to do so just gave it her hoping so would just put it on the side to pick up later or something.

N. H.This pub is amazing. It's got the friendliest staff of any pub I've met. They're relaxed, they're happy, or at least, they look like they're pretending less than the average pub worker does (speaking from experience). The music isn't too loud. The two bars are good. Event spaces are great. Only issue is the toilets are downstairs and not really accessible, but they've done the best with what they have.

A. B.It's been many years since I've been in here, and was pleasantly surprised. It's got a quirky look and feel, and seems to have so many levels, nooks and crannies to sit in (obviously at a table! 😂).
What I also loved was the fact the toilets are hidden in a fake bookcase! We sat near there, and saw it catch so many people out.
The drinks were pretty decent too!!
A.Can always get a seat. Solid choice if Hockley is heaving! Nice mix of music to cater for all. Good choice of drinks and excellent theming with decor. Good luck finding the loo!

J. T.A gothic themed pub that doesn't disappoint in the theming, from curious oddities in glass cabinets, black twisted banister balustrades and a dedicated gothic themed cocktail menu. The attention to detail is remarkable but a few things didn't quite bit the mark, such as only two people behind the bar meant long wait times to be served and no skull mugs as advertised. Great drinks at a reasonable price though. Good luck finding the toilets.
T. H.Great watering hole, especially for rockers, goths and metal heads such as me and my people, wish there were more places like this closer too home but well worth traveling over two counties to reach and frankly would happily do so again, nice staff, great booze and decor to die for 😁

E. B.Really unique looking place inside, good range of food options but more vegan options would be nice. The cocktails we had were alright but some just tasted like juice and very weak and watered down, but some were very nice. I was slightly disappointed with the style of the restaurant - the interior was great, very Victorian and goth style, but I would've expected the drinks or plates etc to fit that style perhaps, but they looked really modern which was odd and didn't really fit the vibe of the place, maybe investing in some goth/Victorian style glasses, plates etc would make the atmosphere better. The staff were incredibly friendly and I couldn't fault them, very easy to order too.

Orders came out with a reasonable time frame, food was amazing, was well priced, great atmosphere, great music too. Came back the following day for dinner. The pub was a lot quieter but still had amazing service, food was again out of this world with a rapid service. Can't fault anything

They offer really interesting cocktails for a decent price. All together makes for a good night out if your looking for something a little bit different. I would always recommend sitting downstairs at the back if you get the chance as the theming down there is great!

I love being served and surround by people that are able to express their own identity and not hide it. I also didn't even know you served food until last night and Im actually so impressed. I ordered a burger meal and it was the best plant based burger I've ever had! ! Can't wait to come back and try all the other toppings now :)

The staff are excellent, very quick with the drinks and have great service in general. There's a vibe you get at Pit that you don't get in other places when you go for a night out with friends, and it's always a stop on our nights out.

Well, I needn't have worried, nothing has changed, it's still as awesome as it always was, even better in fact, my favourite pub in the world.

The bathroom is hidden behind a bookcase which is a cool feature. However the people that were in there at the time I was were very interesting. Really a more rocky bar.

It can get very crowded and busy around 10-11 on weekends since they only now have the upstairs bar open but the drinks make up for that as they're well worth the wait. The bar has an amazing gothic vibe with a lot of history and this place is perfect for tourists.

P. H.Love this place. Gothic bar and restaurant that has two floor. The ground floor as you enter has a very well stocked bar (including their own 7 deadly sin based spirit mixes) along with a back area that hosts live bands. Downstairs is the dungeons and has more seating for food or just those who want to drink away from the live bands. Cannot recommend enough.

S. L.Main level is accessible and has a disabled toilet (hidden behind a bookcase) but downstairs isn't due to the building type. There is a huge range of cocktails based off the different sins which includes a free t-shirt if you order so many. They also have food to choose from including a platter.
Previously I have ordered the platters to share with friends, which works really well at the venue. Last time I ordered the topped fries which I thoroughly enjoyed. As for drinks, I always order Strongbow or a rum and coke as my go to drinks.
On weekends,this venue become a rock haven of wildness, with a packed atmosphere.
Service is great with all staff being extremely friendly with you and getting food out to you as quick as possible.

d. w.What can I say, about the beloved pit and pendulum. Start off with I will have a bit of bias as I love this place and been going for.5 years. First it's not hard to get too, just a small walk from town centre and you will be there. Place is 18 only must stress that, you can't go there for food (which I do recommend) with the kids or anyone under 18. Well price ain't too bad and deals fluctuate throughout the year making it some night's a cheap night out. You can pay by card or cash at this place for when you try there signature cocktails the 7 deadly sins. Each one tasty as the last. They added more over the years but the original 7 will always be the best. Music is a nice rock anthem with a jukebox if you want to change songs. Only downside is the disable access is lacking. Your fine on the top floor, but the bottom/basement you'll struggle which is where the toilets are. But it's a great night which can't be missed.

Pros: was super impressed with the new decor, it smelled better, was cleaner and overall a nicer place to drink than it was before, beer selection will be better when the taps actually get put on. Better menu.
Cons: there was a bit of a price hike with the drinks but nothing massive, the menu needs some better burgers and to rid itself with the obsession of pulled chicken and chorizo on everything! The food was okay, and I enjoyed it but had to order 3 times as the items I wanted as part of the board tapas thing weren't on, and the staff didn't seem to know this until the order went through and generally seemed undertrained.
My conclusion is that this is probably a teething problem and will be rectified, but we will see.

I had regular updates that everything id asked for taken care of, which is a relaxing thought, as i had other plans to take care of for the day. I order food platters as nibbles which were fantastic and delicious. Everyone commented on how nice the food was. We were made welcome and had someone on hand if we needed anything. S.After walking around town and visiting many bars to try and get a taxi booked, as my phone had died, and not being fond of Dg cabs for personal reasons or just grabbing a taxi, also felt someone following me down the road and didn’t want to wonder around town on my own much longer.
Pitch and Pendulum is the only place I was actually spoken to like a human being, I was upset and tired and the lady behind the bar could see I was distressed, she immediately went and got her manager “Danny” he was amazing and made me feel safe and helped me, even got a charger for my phone. Danny ordered me a taxi and couldn’t of been more polite.
This Was the only bar that helped me out of the 4 or 5 I went in, so Thankyou pitch and Pendulum.
