D. W.Dropped in to what's clearly a busy pub. Tables reserved in advance. We managed a table and thoroughly enjoyed our food. Good quality, great portions and value for money.
B. S.Great food at cheap prices, not cheap for beer but lots on offer and good, local ales. Good friendly staff.
Large beer garden with lots of seating and scenery. Slide and swings.
Pub is a grade 2 listed building so low ceilings and lots of character.
For all of the reasons above it can get so busy that the specials board sells out so booking is recommended.

And at a price even my 83 year old mum found reasonable.
great service, great surroundings, great local customers too.

A. R.Very nice place. We were passing through the area and stopped of for a bite to eat. The staff were so friendly. People were nice and chatty. Food was out of this world, everything was fresh and tasty.
S. B.If you like cheap pub chain food this is not the place for you! The food at the queen's head is reasonable priced and very good. I had the prawn baguette with chips and salad, at lunchtime,which was lovely. Nice cosy pub with friendly helpful staff and covid measures in place. It's a popular place so I'd recommend that you book a table. You get what you pay for.

Great selection of draught beers including moretti as well as the usual Carling. Also some draught bitters. Love the fish and chips here as the batter is always crispy and lovely mushy peas too. My friend chose the salmon and new potatoes. Quite a few specials on the board too. Good friendly service too.

C. M.I don't actually consume alcohol. As such, I can't give a real review of this place.
Google constantly ask for reviews on places people are close to without actually knowing that , the individuals concerned, may just be walking past.
This is because, the satellite can only get you/the individual, to, within a certain distance. Not, an exact spot.
For that type of exaxt location, they would have to have access to the numerous spy/covert satellites....etc
a. j. l.Just been for lunch. Very nice atmosphere, very quiet considering there was a lot of people in there. Only complaint (which is a common theme in places that sell food) is that they don't have little cutlery for children.
J. M.Service is very good , polite and friendly staff, and the food tastes beautiful. They are stingey with the sugar for coffee though and expect you to want one white and one brown sugar. Easily rectified though.

The staff are friendly and efficient, letting us know quickly that one of our preferred menu choices was no longer available and offering an alternative at the same price.

C. T.Really lovely place to sit down for a drink and something to eat. Staff are welcoming and friendly. Massive back garden and play area is not to bad for kids. Clean and tidy place to go. Well lit up at night so you can have a nice quiet pint at night. Will not be disappointed. Like to go for a pint here though the week. Sit down area at the front aswel. Enjoy.

L. L.We visited on chance and was well worth the wait for food. Food cooked fresh from scratch no microwaving and you can tell how nice the food is by it's popularity. We waited an hour for food and I'd go there again. Plenty of outside space and tables and suitable for families.
H. R.Food was disappointing, very stodgy despite being summer and not much seemed homemade. Service was poor - taking ages to come despite having booked a table for food. When the very young waitress came to take our order, we began to order food and she stopped us to ask what time it was. When we replied (a little puzzled) she said it was fine. Waiting staff seemed more concerned about catching up with friends who were there than serving other customers.
Beer garden was pleasant though.

N. S.The food was really good, unfortunately they score low due to the lack of Covid awareness from staff and management. The salt, pepper and condiments were not in sachets, the staff were not wearing visors. There was no table service and you had to go the bar to order your food and drink. I really think that the management/owners need to up their game here, did not feel safe at all.

A great selection of ales too. The food generally is home cooked and well made. The garden is excellent for kids with plenty of room to run around but lacks a few toys (with just a small slide and a swing).
The staff are very friendly and generally happy to help. Highly recommend for a local meal somewhere that isn't a 'chain' pub or just a swift pint on a sunny afternoon or evening.
If it's wet then the inside is quite tight and cosy. We prefer outside.
D. S.Took the inlaws here for a meal and this was my first visit. At first it feels like a very cosy locals pub but soon warms up.
The food was fantastic. Lovely looking, hot, good portions and tasted like a hearty home cooked meal. Side salad tasted so fresh it was like they had veggies growing in their garden. (Which is also beautiful)
The only thing that's stops it being a 5 star was the beer. The ale was cloudy and the draft tasted a little fusty. Hopefully this was a one off. I will still be returning for the food and to give the beer another chance

J. H.We took Mum here for her birthday, the dining room was clean and tidy and was decorated very well for Christmas. Two of us had pasta with Stilton and rocket pesto, salad and chips. It was nice but could have had a bit more stilton. Mum had beef crumble and was happy with the food. Two steaks were delicious apparently, the last one was a burger and really nice.
We had to wait for the sweets and had to prompt them to bring it out. Overall nice experience but would have been better with a table check mid meal.
