Popped in on out walk back to our hotel. Great vibe and atmosphere. Cocktails were lush. Can't remember much else. Would definitely go there again.

Bar staff were slow to serve, but alright for a pub and a quick pint. Upstairs there is often gigs, and i do like to go for beer before a rick city gig.

We had a great night, the After Show Party for the New Model Army gig.The staff where a little bamboozled withe onslaught of fans. Slow service but we had top night until they threw us out at 2am🙄😁

Had a fantastic night out here last Friday, it was my first night out in Nottingham, and the atmosphere was awesome, if you have not tried this place it is well worth a visit.

Fantastic place. Great atmostphere. Plays all the classics from all eras. Old school games and pinball. A huge massive shame it's closing this new years eve.

One of the nice novelty bars in Nottingham is Spanky Van Dykes, centrally located in Nottingham and with a great list of craft beer from around the world as well as a good list of cocktails. There is also a a videogame corner and decent food. A nice haunt for a few pints.

Really enjoyed visiting this place, as a fellow Van Dyke. Great bar games, great drinks and audio books in the lavatories. Such a shame that the owners of the building are forcing the bar to close. Charlatans if you ask me...

Great craft beers served here, often on offer. Ask the bar staff for what deals are on. Nice place to relax in the afternoon or do a not social in the evenings with friends.

An all-round great place; good drinks, great food, and an amazing funky atmosphere! I am such a huge fan of this place; the interior is super funky with loads of interesting posters plastered all over the walls and other quirky objects pinned about the place. The nights they put on in the upstairs area have always been a great night, and the drinks are never as bad as you'd expect from a place like this. The food is divine, especially their 2-4-1 burger offer on Tuesdays!

Great burgers and great music, the Poutine burger is messy but tastes wonderful, give the truffle mac and cheese bites a go too. Music selection was amazing and if I'd been there longer I might have had a go on one of the retro consoles, tekken 3 was calling me!

Quite simply the best samba gig I've ever played in the UK was here with Nova Guarda. As for the burger? Rushed it down slightly, so I didn't enjoy it as much as I would have done had I eaten it with gentle, relaxed majesty.

The Mrs and I called in here the other night for a quick drink before going to watch the macabees at rock city. It's the first time we've been in felt a bit out of place as we're touching 50 and it was full of students but didn't get any funny looks lol lol. Beer was OK and great atmosphere and would recommend it for anybody going to a rock city gig for a drink before going to venue. Also found bar staff friendly and didn't have to wait to long to be served.

Spanky Van Dyke's is a great place with good food, good drink and a good, comfortable atmosphere. It has become the regular haunt of my university society because of its atmosphere and closeness to campus.

Lots of board games and they also have a collection of old school consoles with Mario Kart and Tony Hawks games, if you ask at the bar they'll unlock the games cabinet and let you choose.
