Nice quirky pub, lots of atmosphere with live bands and open mic nights. The beer I had (level head IPA) was really nice too. Pool and shuffle board games in the back room if you fancy your hand at pub sports 😄

Friendly and welcoming. Met a friend for catch up, drink and a bite. Smashing varied menu, from full meals to fish goujons with tartare sauce...great building, art deco interiors, comfy cosy corner seating. Dining tables and straight back chairs. Oh yes and clean roomy loos!! Good to come back now food also back, I would also be comfortable coming here alone for lunch.

As a transplant resident from the US, this is my favourite traditional pub in West Bridgford. The atmosphere is quaint, comfortable, and traditional. Bar is well supplied with local ales and if there is a match on, there is a huge projection screen in the back. Definitely worth a visit.

The Test Match is a stunning building, and one of a very small number of Art Deco pub interiors in England, built in 1938. The pub name is connected to Trent Bridge cricket ground. Still beautifully preserved, now listed, all those fab art deco features are still in place, and the building was very sensitively refurbished in 2001: revolving brass, wood and glass door, ash-panelled lounge, slate fireplaces, and lovely wide staircase make this a spacious and enjoyable place to be. Great selection of beers too!

Went for a committee meeting and was pleased to be asked if we'd like the sound down on the TV's in the room. Everyone had a drink of some description, although the majority were coffees. These were brought through to us on a tray, with milk and sugar to use as we wanted. Staff came in and checked we were ok and at a later stage cleared all the cups and saucers. Excellent meeting and everyone was delighted with the venue and room supplied.

The best pub in West Bridgford by a mile , superb ambience and staff who greet one with a genuine smile . A great selection of traditional hand pulled ales , a good range of lagers too . The menu looked very appetising and a friend who was with us had a steak sandwich accompanied with French fries and salad and commented on what good value it was . Highly recommended sitting in beautiful surroundings enjoying the Art Deco Hall and staircase . 10/10

My first visit back to the Test Match for 25 years, when I used to work there during my university days. Whilst the pub has been remodelled, it retains the charm it always had. Excellent service and lovely food, all complying with current restrictions. Special mention to Rob who gave me a quick look at some of the areas that weren’t open to the public for old time’s sake.

We visited as a group of 6 to take advantage of their £2.99 coffee and cake offer. Unfortunately we were told even though it was advertised in their menu the offer wasn't on and the only cake available was £2 cash each piece as whomever had made them was collecting for charity. Collecting for charity is admirable but offers shouldn't be advertised if they are not available and limiting the purchase of cake to cash is surely limiting the sales. In fact if a colleague hadn't come to the rescue half of us would have been just drinking coffee. The cake was lovely and moist and the coffee was good but we still had to go back and ask about 2 items that were overlooked, even though it wasn't that busy.

Firstly I have to say that there are very few pubs like this one around these days. Secondly the Sunday roasts are excellent right down to the velvety gravy. Tanya went out of her way to make sure our dining experience was an enjoyable one. Been here a few times now and each time the service and food has been excellent. Highly recommended.

What a fantastic looking building. A proper pub with character and charm. Theme of cricket with different rooms to suit most people. A nice pint or two watching cricket and football. Good food and wide selection of beer, in what is a really lovely building. It's original art deco (I think) with wood paneling and a revolving door. It's a Green King pub, so the food is what you'd expect from a chain. Don't expect home cooked chef's specials. Often shows sport and is quite busy, so not always idea for a quiet drink. There is a side room where they serve afternoon teas, but also has a couple of screens, for watching sport. A back room contains a pool table, or maybe two. Good for watching the Six Nations, but arrive early or book a table if you want to watch the game. An odd thing to report is that the urinals are really nice, probably original, and quite fancy looking. So luxury peeing too.

Well polite staff,expensive on certain drinks the only thing that bothers me is you can smell cigarette smoke coming into the pub from outside,sometimes you see the odd one vaping inside sat down which is bad.Other than that a good pub well run.

This place as character, really nice . Parking is limited if you're not a local. Toilets are clean and tidy Drinks where served at the right temperature as I don't like ice in my drink. Food was nice and not over priced. Been a few times. Would recommend you try this old pub.

A grand looking pub but the word pub doesn't do it justice. A welcoming meeting place whether popping in for a coffee, meeting friends for a party night, listening to music, watching all the sports. There are so many things going on there. Table 1 is the best table to catch up on all the local news..lol.. Had many meals there and always been tastey and filling. Great staff and land ladies who run it smoothly. Never wait long to be served and glasses are always swiftly moved when drinks are finished. The Christmas lights outside look fab too.

Great local pub which caters to a higher category of punter. Food is of a decent quality for pub food and the prices reflect that as they are little higher than the average you'd expect. Wide ranging beer selection at reasonable prices. Often have sports on, but be warned of conflict between football, rugby and F1, even if you ask in advance, the local public have a dictatorship on the TV.

This was the pub where i discovered my destiny. I was working in the high street in west/north? Bridgeford. .We were finished for the night.Building a Loungers Cafe/Bar..Anyhoo!. It was a very cold rainy night about 6:30. Christmas was looming. We finished work, as I say and trundled our way up to the pub. Got served and sat down.It was a week day so the place was empty nearly. It was then I found out my future!. The menus on table where of Hungry Horse, Beefeater type. The meals looked nice.They always do.The interior was of a traditional Pub.Oak and Mahogany Beams and staircase. At some stage in the Past accommodation must have been available, but not that night!. Because that was the night I found out my destiny. They sell many types of Ale and Lagers. I had!...Guiness!. Which is a stout.! We huddled around the table in our secret meeting, from prying eyes of the other customers who seemed settled in there comfy chairs. My Foreman/Supervisor. Explained to me where and what was happening, what had been going on ,why he had not been on the job for a few days. "I've got a job working abroad". he aid. "Do want to come with me as a team". "Chuffin right " I said. "when's the flight"... Nice staff.. Only went the once
