B. G.Popped in on a Sunday afternoon and the place was quiet. Finding a seat was easy and we were welcomed by staff on entry. We ordered through the app which was easy to use. Ordering mains, one starter for one of the kids, and puddings for the kids.
Our drinks came quickly and the starter came soon after. The chap serving asked if we wanted to wait until the starter was finished for the mains or bring them asap.
The mains arrived soon after and everything was lovely. Nothing over cooked, which is my main issue with pub grub. My burger was big and juicy and the fried egg was perfect, all white cooked through and a runny yoke.
We finished our mains and as the chap was clearing our plates he asked if we'd be ordering desserts for the adults, as he'd get the kitchen to delay the kids desserts until that order came through. We did and all the puddings arrived at once, which I thought was a nice touch and good communication with the kitchen.
All in all the food was good, and the service was great. I know the apple tree has been variable in the past but they seem to have it together at the moment!

A. C.We stopped here for dinner with our children and it was a mixed bag in terms of experience... the place looks tidy and clean both inside and out, and we got a table easily enough. Menu has a fair range of different options and they also have some specials. Service at the bar for ordering took a fair amount of time and should have been far quicker than it was. The wife wanted some cocktails (reasonable price at 2 for £7) but unfortunatly the staff were unsure how to make her first choice (long island ice tea) and then surprisingly struggled a little with the spritz.
In terms of food, the wife went for chicken and ribs and I went for the wild boar and chorizo burger off the specials. The wife thought hers was OK, and mine I thought was tasty - however the garlic bread side took an extra 5 mins to turn up. Can't comment on the kids meal other than it would have been nice to have the small plates for kids included in the cost of adult meal - never keen on paying much for a meal for a 3 yr old who may or may not actually eat anything...!
So generally, not as bad as some of the reviews suggest, but likewise not the best place we have ever been.

I think the pub is popular with its neighbours and i spotted several regulars. We did not eat so can't comment on the food. I would say the toilets need checking out more often...the men's smelt of rotting cabbage but weren't particularly grotty. Wonder if the bins are just outside the window. It is a community pub and clearly delivers. That is what is important.

C. S.We would like to thank all the staff for helping us celebrate our 50th Wedding Anniversary which was in Saturday 7 August. Everyone had a good time. The buffet was fresh and tasty food with plenty. We would not hesitate to book again for any forthcoming celebrations. Once again thank you very much.

The staff here can’t do enough to make our visit here exceptional. The food is always great the beer is always great and the welcome is fantastic. The management and the staff make you feel important. There aren’t many pubs around that care about their customers but the Apple Tree do and that’s what makes this pub better than the others. J. K.Went there for dinner for 4 people on Saturday evening. The app didn’t work correctly and we couldn’t use our reward which were complimentary drinks. We have reported issue to the waiter who laconically said that he doesn’t know how the app works so he will fetch manager. Once left he never came back during our 2 hours staying there. Food was fabulous, but that didn’t help remove the very bad experience of dishonest member of staff.

R. D.Fantastic sunday beef roast and great service from Connor and the team. Amazing value at £11 and the beef was so tender plus nice roasties, veg and yorkshires. Much better food than we expected to be honest. We went sunday evening and had pre booked our food. Unfortunately team had a mix up and our order had got left off the chefs list. But after apologising and asking us to take a free starter the chef patiently cooked a new joint and prepared new sunday dinners for us.

L. S.My husband and I love this pub! the staff are always smiling and well presented, always looking like they really enjoy their jobs. After walking our dogs in the nearby nature reserve this gem is a fab pit stop before going home, their pet policy is very fair for any responsible dog owners to abide by. Have seen some negative reviews but can't understand them to be honest, food is always lovely and hot, again staff are brilliant and we are always served quickly. It will remain our local pub.

N. H.The Apple Tree is ideally located and has a great interior style with a choice of comfy seating and a fire too in winter. It is always a pleasure to visit here for a drink and a catch up. I just wish the staff were more enthusiastic and happy. Its such a shame when they mumble, don't make eye contact, under fill drinks measures, order dominos pizza and eat at the bar etc. Just doesn't seem quite right. I hope this can improve soon as it has lots of potential.

N. K.I will start by saying it’s not the best food for the money.
But the staff are brilliant, the atmosphere is very nice especially when the fire is crackling away. In winter a lovely friendly local pub that makes everyone feel welcome.
In summer sitting outside is also good as they have a brilliant beer garden area. Only problem is that smoking is allowed at the tables which is awful when you are eating out with the family.
All in, my favourite pub.

Good Covid queing system although you have to walk through it to use the exit. I didn't see a Track n Trace sign anywhere, and the same for other local pubs so maybe it's a Notts thing.

A. S.As a vegan and someone with a lot of food allergies eating out for me is a nightmare but as my mum lives locally she suggested coming to the apple tree for a girly lunch. Now I don't normally write reviews but because of the absolutely incredible service and help I got from the staff I felt I had to write one. Firstly, their gin selection is amazing and right on trend!.when we arrived we were greeted with a smile and a hello I asked the staff for advice with the menu (as mentioned I have lots of food allergies and a vegan) I was passed a vegan menu and allergy guide and the lady behind the bar was extremely thorough in making sure I understood how it all worked. I went back to my table to have a look through and when I'd made my decision (cauliflower curry, which was delicious!) the waitress then brought me all fresh cutlery and delivered my food personally. All of which made me feel very reassured that they took allergies seriously and that my food was going to be 'safe' to eat. Me and my mum both very much enjoyed our lunch here and have now decided to come back every week for a bite to eat. Thank you to the staff at the apple tree for making my visit so pleasurable and for being so helpful! If I could leave more than 5 stars I most definitely would

So much so I did it myself and had to reorganize the tables after a bigger party had left as staff just left it. Seems to be no older staff or management guiding others on their jobs. T. P.I often come here for large family meals, the food is your typical pub grub (steaks, mixed grills and burgers) which everyone seems to enjoy. However, being Coeliac is not good at The Apple Tree unfortunately, very minimal choice and the staff aren't fully aware of how to prepare gluten free food either, the menu states that their chips are GF but they're fried together with onion rings which are obviously not GF... I often ask for the salmon, potatoes and veg.
Nice staff, always very busy on a Friday & Saturday night however so long ish wait on food and drink. I'd recommend here for a pint or two.
P. K.Went in for a Sunday dinner around 4pm. Lovely place inside, with a burning fire towards the back giving it a cosy feel. Staff were friendly, and it didn’t take long to be served. I ordered two beef Sunday dinners for me and the wife, then sat down with our drinks. Food came after five minutes or so, which seemed a bit quick to be honest. Two thick slices of beef, which was first class, a Yorkshire pudding, again first class, two potatoes that I could only describe as small jacket potatoes and one roast potatoe. The carrots, greens and turnips looked like they’d been standing for a while, and microwaved, along with the potatoes, when needed, which was probably why it came so quick, but the gravy was spot on. Apart from the meat, yorkie pud and the gravy, the rest was left. No complaints about the pub itself or the staff, but unfortunately, that wasn’t a Sunday dinner for me.
C. B.I can't recommend the food enough it's the only place I have fish and chips, because everywhere else is to greasy.
I also felt well looked after and safe with the covid-19 regulations in place.
V. K.They have the most Amazing burgers in town. i have been to few places in Nottingham city centre bur nothing like the burger at Apple tree. The only downside of these amazing Burgers are that they are not made inhouse as we wanted to get the recipe for it. But for sure the best burgers

The food is absolutely brilliant for the price you pay and I've never waited more than 15/20 minutes for it to be served.

P. W.I'm a regular visitor to The Apple Tree and went with 8 friends for a meal last Friday night. This was our first revisit since the facelift and whilst the beer and food were excellent value and most enjoyable, I found some of the changes spoilt the previous nice atmosphere of this pub. The background music has become foreground music and it was difficult to hear our conversations. There is now a large table near the bar, which at one stage, due to queing at the bar, made it impossible to move from one side of the pub to the other. Children, babies, puschairs and dogs were all over the place, whereas they were previously only allowed in part of the pub.
Service at the bar was greatly improved, with more staff on duty.
S. M.Disappointing lunch. Ordered the "new" Beef and Ale pie described as "tender beef" instead of the cheaper one at half the price that said "minced beef", after having asked and checked that they were different pies and that the more expensive pie was much better. The pie turned out to be a thin layer of minced beef with other stuff that might be diced carrot. Most disappointing - was expecting chunks of tender beef. The waitress never came back to check our order was OK. This is not typical of the Apple Tree. Clearly they were having a bad day.

V. M.Let me start by saying we were fans, we used to enjoy the 'old Apple Tree' food deals on Tuesdays and Thurdays.
But we had a dissapointing meal and whole experience eating there after refurbishment and would not recomend it.
It was unclear what the 'deal of the day' was, it took a while just to get eveyone of our party of five one of the three menus that were not as readily available as they should have been. The 'specials menu' was overpriced. Overall, the food took far too long to come and was mediocre . Even allowing for teething troubles the value for money is questionable. In future I will look elsewhere for a plate of pub grub at a reasonable price.
S. W.I have eaten here many times and the food, drinks and service have always been good. There is a good selection of food on the menu and the full range of dietary requirements are catered for and there is a vegan menu.
P. S.Didn't eat, but choice of beer was good. Part of the seating area was closed off because of a (I think) leak, but not a problem. Nice place to go for a drink.
