It has an accessible entrance for wheelchair users and parents with prams for the babies ! Nice and clean place recommended !

M.Had a fantastic meal here. We tried the hanging kebabs which were superb. Didn't know what the little tub of oil at the top was for though. Was very busy and noisy but they had live music which added to a great evening. Staff were very friendly and helpful. I would definitely recommend booking though as it's very popular. Will definitely revisit.

A.Service was good friendly staff, we had starters onion pearls nice, calamari well underdone or cooked with warm oil as it was limp and not crispy, wings average, cauliflower wings nice . lamb roast dinner nice , burger nice, sea bass nice , chicken kebab nice garlic butter good & vegetarian wellington alright for mains overall the staff were excellent but I think the kitchen staff did not meet our expectations. We have eaten at the Coventry branch so thought we’d be treated with the same quality.. sadly this was all average and would Not have us returning . It was not bad enough to complain but not good enough to return on the quality of the food. But maybe it was a bad day at the office.

Place was half empty for Sunday lunch and local pubs were fully booked but the food here was far better than most I've had in and around Bridgford.

a. g.Will be coming back here again - excellent range of quality cocktails. Not cheap- but you get what you pay for. Lovely atmosphere inside - garden themed decor is very imaginative. I’ve come here a few times and the place is popular with families - especially for Sunday lunch. Worth booking in advance for larger groups or if a specific date is required. Best place to park is around the back opposite co-op. Large car park available which always seems to have spaces.

V. N.Usually I eat at restaurants in Nottingham city centre but this place looked so good from the outside! I visited The Botanist with a friend and shared the calamari and pudding planter dessert (it is to die for - highly recommend) (will be back to try a main at some point also definitely!) Nice deco and very open and light space. Staff were lovely. However, atmosphere could be cosier.. tables were far too spaced out (that's the only reason I'm not giving 5*). Also, restaurant is split in to two and the front turns in to a pub (completely different vibe!)
J. S.A magical mystical place! They've truly gone all out to create an elegant shabby rustic chic place to dine. Friendly, helpful staff. Varied menu that caters for most tastes and requirements. Very well presented food with reasonable portion sizes. We chose the Yellow Curry (veg version) with coconut rice. Even the rice blew my taste buds! Our other dish was the chicken kebab which didn't disappoint either. We didn't try the cocktails but those that passed the table looked exquisite. The bill wasn't bad either: 2 drinks and mains for £32. Highly recommended.

We've been twice since and each time has been a pleasure. The staff are all genuinely friendly, the menu provides for both vegans / veggies and carnivores like me with plenty of tasty options and the decor is rustic and cozy.
The first time we went was a busy night, but that didn't impact the service or cheer of the staff either. Sometimes in busy restaurants one of those two would suffer, but we didn't experience either.
This place is a genuine gem and perfect for a meal night out, dinner date or even just to have a quiet drink at the bar.
If you just looking to try a new place with good food then this is a safe bet 👍

S. G.THE BOTANIST is situated in the heart of West Bridgeford's shopping precinct. Parking across the road 2 min walk and only costs £3 for a couple of hours. The place is a lovely building which is very picturesque at Christmas. Inside is very clean and warm. Very relaxing scene with friend staff. You can go smart dress or casual. There is a brilliant cocktail menu and food selection. I went for the lamb kabab which was very nice with a starter platter to share. The bill including cocktails came to £50 for 2 people including a tip. Spot on place to eat overall, nice place to impress the missus if she has not been before :). Also very conveniently located next to other bars and restaurants. Would advise to book a table due to demand.

O. C.Really good service. We arrived around 1pm on a Saturday (match day as well) to a very busy restaurant. We were walkins so thought it might be fully booked, but to our surprise they squeezed us in immediately, we were told that there was approx 30 mins wait for food which was understandable. They took order food order swiftly and in the end they got our food out within 20 minutes, which was another pleasant surprise. Service was impeccable. Food really tasty and homemade. Would definitely go again.

Limited time slot to eat which is understandable and we didn't get chance to have dessert however it took 15 minutes to take away our finished, empty plates. If you are going to have time constraints you need to make sure you have enough staff to be attentive to your customers. Also, adding the service tip and a charity donation to the bill is presumptuous and I feel rude. I have no problem tipping, but it's my choice and you shouldn't make the customer feel uncomfortable be having to ask to take it off.

Issues:
Paid for 2 people from the £30 group menu and was charged £60 although a £10 deposit was paid prior (happened to multiple people in the party)
The set menu includes a drink which can be wine, peroni or a choice of 2 mocktails. I asked if I could have a lemonade instead...of course you can, but you'll have to pay for it. Surely post mix lemonade costs less than bottles of peroni red?

I’ve been here twice and both times the staff have been lovely and it’s had a really nice atmosphere. The second time there was a live music act which was enjoyable.
Unfortunately I’m not sold on the food. I think it’s over priced for what you get and both times we’ve had to send things back to the kitchen for not being right.
I would recommend for a nice vibe while having a drink or two, but that’s about it.

They charged us for the bottles........ They didn't give us a choice of bottled or tap we assumed it was tap water in a bottle as many do these days.
The food was good, interesting and an experience especially the deserts with the dry ice...... However I do think it is about overpriced. For food and especially drinks..... It's inner city prices....

C. B.Been for drinks and cocktails on separate occasions. Food I had is pretty decent but would need to sample more items off the menu to give a full conclusion on that side of things. The Cocktails are a little pricey but they are super clean and fresh tasting and very creative in how they are made, so it's part of the treat to watch them make you one as it takes a lot of effort.
Last time I went they even gave me a free cocktail on the house because one of the tools they use to 'fully' make the drink I ordered wasn't working, but it still tasted fine so that was a few bonus points for. Great improvement on the generic 'Trying to be a city centre bar' that was there before. Nice to have another unique place to go out in Avenue.
J. W.Whilst the decor was lovely and the menu too it was the live music that was so loud I could not hold a conversation with her ( my partner and hers too). This was their choice of venue as it was for her birthday. We did ask the very nice lad that was serving us if it was possible to have it turned down, which they did for about 20mins. We promptly left after the meal. Nice place, medioke food, staff very polite and helpful, to the point they had NOT charged us for the drinks due them not arriving well after the meal, this was off their initiative.. So a big plus to them hence THREE *, Otherwise a two*.

P. P.I normally don't post these reviews. But, we celebrated my mums birthday at the botanist in West Bridgford. We were served by Harry(congrats on passing your practical exam) who had only been working there for a week and he was a great host! Very friendly, helpful and made sure we had everything we wanted. The food was great and we had an amazing time. Will definitely be visiting again very soon.

This isn't a negetive review and doesn't stop me wanting to eat there again. But the flavour doesn't live up to the promise of the menu.
Forgot to add I didn't try any of the cocktails but I saw a number coming out and they looked like a great time. One had a dry ice smoke volcano coming out of it

The food however was not great and the staff were a similar mixed bag with some being great and very pleasant but the person who appeared to be in charge on the night was overly pretentious and borderline rude.
Will likely give it a try again at another time if only for the cocktails but can’t recommend eating there at this point.

It was my daughter's birthday, we didn't really make a point of telling the staff this, but our server Rachel must have over heard our conversation, and came back with a glass of bubbly for her. A lovely touch I thought and very thoughtful. Food was tasty and quirky and my daughter enjoyed the fab birthday cocktails too, if a little over priced, think there should be more deals on the cocktails.

My only criticism was a live band started playing during our meal and we could no longer hear each other speak as it was so loud. My recommendation is not to pipe loud music into the restaurant area. The waiter did offer to turn it down but volume was only marginally reduced.

Everyones food was lovely and the service was great--never an empty glass being the standard.
Calamari, creamy (plant potted) mushrooms and soup starters--all rated very tasty.
Mains
haloumi kebabs--drenched in garlic butter with couscous--devine.
Veggie pie with tender stem broccoli and almonds reportedly delicious (personally) sampled at the Leeds branch so expected no less).
And a Christmas burger--eaten with relish but without comment.
