Nicely modernised pub with a beer terrace out the back and four decent guest cask ales on draught. Menu looked reasonably for a casual bite to eat. We will return.

Food I had was good and the staff were really nice. They allow dogs and have drinking bowls for them and some free dog biscuits 😊
A. T.
Looks nice after it's redecoration..Good beer and food (our first visit since Mel and Richard left.)
J. N.
Very pleasant and friendly staff. Nicely set out and clean. Good menu for Mother's Day though the Sunday roast would have been better had the meat been cut fresh from a joint rather than being pre-cut and reheated. Would try again.

A lovely Easter Sunday lunch of roast lamb and a Sunday Sundae - recommended visit

First time being back at the Chestnut pub in Radcliffe on Trent since being upgraded and I believe New landlords? Greated warmly by the lovely friendly staff upon arrival and promptly served. Homemade soup and a sandwich nicely made and tasted delicious. Dessert was exquisite( see photo) and tasted great! I'd highly recommend this pub for food. Hope Togo back to try more delicious meals.

We went here for Sunday lunch last week. Some family members were nervous about getting covid. We didn't want to cancel so asked if we could be served in the shelter outside.
The heaters kept us warm, the service was friendly and professional, nothing was too much trouble! Food delicious. A lovely experience.
I would definitely recommend this place.
Great value too.

We went in for a family meal, they didn't have a table for us in the bar or lounge, so we were offered their function room, we happily accepted, the food was fantastic, and they couldn't do enough for us, see you again soon
R. T.
Lovely staff, good food and great prices. Well worth a visit.

Lovely Sunday lunch with the family food was amazing and so was the service

Fabulous Sunday dinner here. Perfectly cooked. 2 roast potatoes not quite enough for me, at least one more but only a small gripe. Staff friendly and helpful and all very clean.
M. D.
Gorgeous pub inside and out. New back seating area with heating is divine. Dedicated smoking area (if you’re into that). Clean and pleasant toilets. Delicious proper pub food. Ample parking and next to the mainline bus stop whilst also being 5 mins walking distance to the village centre.

I have been working in the area for the last 5 weeks and needed somewhere for an evening meal. I cannot praise The Chestnuts enough. All the staff are very friendly and the meals are the best I’ve tasted in a long time. Would thoroughly recommend you check it out.

I am a regular visitor to this establishment - have been for years. It recently changed hands but the staff remained the same. They are super people who care about the business and their customers. The layout of the pub is unusual and at busy times, becomes noisy. The noise reverberatesrather. They have a pleasant outdoor area where one can sit on balmy evenings.
We turned up for food the other day at lunchtime, only to be told that due to unexpected illness, they were not serving. Combine that with rather high prices (which has been addressed somewhat) and it is not a good formula for strengthening their position. That's a shame because it is a nice place and they care.

I don't leave many reviews however having visited the Chestnut today I've decided I must, firstly were not locals and didn't have a clue where to eat having visited Nottingham on a shopping trip,so having looked online we found the Chestnut and gave them a call, the person on the phone was very plesent and took our details and we were booked in.On arrival tbh it looked a little empty (but it was 3.30) and dark inside and the bins in the car park looked a tad untidy however never judge a book by its cover or a Pub by its carpark...On entry we were greeted by a member of staff who was polite and friendly and took us through the covid rules for this establishment (basically a one way system) took our contact details and escorted us to our table in the restaurant. The decor and furniture are very smart and the building has loads of character and is very clean.Great selection of beers and N.Z Sav blanc by the glass, perfect. Two roast dinners were ordered and we couldn't fault the quality and presentation of our meals ( we don't visit your usual carvery establishments) .... very impressed all round, would definitely return.

We dropped in for Sunday lunch today, and it was a real treat. Delicious in every respect and a world away from the awful ping food at most pubs. Great ales, too, and brilliant staff. Keep it up!
P. D.
A pleasant spacious traditional pub with a sun trap garden tucked away in the rear. Good menu. Good beer... Especially the Nottingham Brewery extra pale ale!

Very nice, proper pub. Serves good food and has a nice patio outside area.

Good village.pub very nice staff
B. A. S.
This is a nice little pub with good staff.... but, we ordered the fish & chips (Ale Battered Hake) which, at £12, was not cheap. We each received an undersized rectangular block of fish? a pot of chunky chips and some tired looking mushy peas. It all tasted just OK but was very disappointing at the price.

Went to the chestnut sunday 20th September for lunch with my daughter son in law and grand daughter with me on crutches and a pushchair we were made to feel very welcome and signalled to go into the garden area for drinks as we were early the staff were very courteous and helpful the adults had the 3 course lunch and the little one the smaller 2 course I asked them to bring the childs main meal the same time as our starters as she takes longer to eat and this was no problem for them we all had different starters which were delicious well presented and quickly devoured our mains arrived and again well presented a good portion and delicious again polished off the icing on the cake were the desserts they were stunningly presented and delicious never eaten anything so good
I would recommend the establishment to anyone as the menu is a variety of mouth watering delights and decently priced I am definitely going back to try something different very soon.
Well done The Chestnut you all deserve it

Had the best sunday lunch i've had in a long while. My partner hates eating out for sunday roasts as he always thinks home cooked are the best, however even he finished his plate! We were asked how we would like our roast beef cooked and it came lovely and pink, the caramelised red cabbage was delicious, as were the roasted carrots & parsnips. - a real tasty home cooked feel to the meal. Mel was lovely and attentive and all the staff could not do enough for us. Will definitely be returning and recommending, Thanks
T. V.
