Great staff. Great beer. Great food.
Lovely old pub, staffed by super young people who are eager to help. Great choice of different beers and food (unfortunately finishes at 5 pm). Outside seating too.
L. P. E.
Lovely place to have a drink. It has a very friendly atmosphere, staff is really lovely and friendly. I felt welcomed and I enjoyed my Guinness that was poured with lots of care. I must say is one of the best I have tasted lately. I have to come back!!!

Went for Sunday lunch. Great beers, excellent service. The lunch was good but not great. Everybody's Yorkshire puddings were a bit overdone. A bit of crispiness is fine, but none of it should be black and crumble to dust when chewed. Beef was nice, others enjoyed their lamb and pork. Not served with much veg, but I still struggled to finish everything so overall portion size can't be bad. I'd definitely eat here again but I'd like to try the regular menu. Don't be put off trying the Sunday lunch, it might be just how you like it. And I'll say again, the service was excellent, lovely friendly and efficient staff, can't praise them enough.
C. S.
A great selection of drinks and very friendly service. On Sunday there's a choice of Roast dinners, wraps and a specials board for those that prefer something other than roasts.
Dinners are £15 so not too expensive. Be sure to book in advance.

Nice pub, bigger than it looks from the front, a good variety of beers, along with good service..
We popped in whilst out with friends for a couple of beers and the Brook / Khan fight was showing, so we stayed for the rest of the evening.
Not just a sports bar, there are plenty of tables, you can sit and chat over a meal if required.
There are real ales available...
Thoroughly enjoyed the whole experience, well done guys, keep up the good work. 👍

Great bar and still looks the same as the last time i was in here it was10 years ago and seems the only that has changed is the staff and beer prices.but still excellent service
N. D. W.
Hard to judge its true atmosphere for me, as it was the first time I went there over the weekend just gone, and it was inhabited in the main by football fans for the FA Cup Forest game.
That said, despite the large number of people in and outside the pub, service was quick and friendly and the beers good.
Hopefully I will get an opportunity to visit again on a quieter weekend.
C. S.
A reasonable Sunday lunch, fairly priced but the veg was a little lackluster and they were a little stingy on the gravy. The upstairs dining room is a good size and well decorated but can get quite loud if the other diners aren't quite.
E. C.
Great traditional bar that's been there for ever since I can remember allways a great crowd of people in there, never any trouble,a really layed back bar with great staff!!!
N. S.
Nice pub. Very laid back atmosphere. Great local beers from the Navigation brewery. Good choice of food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff.
S. A. B.
Real proper traditional Nottingham pub. Great selection of draught beers and lagers including selection from local Nottingham brewery Navigation. Busy but still able to get a table. Great location just by the tram stop so great place to meet at the beginning of a night out or last drink before you get the bus or tram home. Lovely decor. Menu with selection of dishes but not sure what time they are served.
P. D.
Very nice traditional pub. It felt good to go somewhere so well run, comfortable and that actually felt like a real public house! Fantastic home cooked food, a few meal deal evenings. All round it was a very nice unexpected surprise.... A proper good change from cardboard cloned chain pubs!
m. m.
Good city centre pub. Great staff and selection of drinks. Good for people watching....
M. S.
My roast beef was tough and over cooked but my partners veggie tart roast was lovely
P. B.
Best place in the city for a pint and meal. Nothing to add
r. b.
Excellent old style pub. Great beer . Lovely staff. Nice& clean. Tables wiped when empty.

First time here in Nottingham from the states and happened to stop in. Glad we did, had a great pint, delicious pork tomahawk and great service from a university student 3 weeks in on his job. Very good and will definitely stop by again when I'm in town.
J. T.
Lovely bar and restaurant. Friendly staff, good food, popular with the locals and interesting inside
L. T. P.

Relaxing with a drink inside or outside

Fantastic staff
We recommend

Nice place with a good selection of ales on offer from Navigation Brewery. Lack of seating can be an issue, as it does tend to get rather busy. Popular place.
J.
We ate at really busy time but the food was superb and the staff were brilliant.
J. C.
Really nice city centre pub good range of beers. Very friendly staff.
G. S.
Great little pub. Nice food, child friendly and lovley staff
M. R.
One of Nottinghams Navigation pubs, this is very good, good choice of ales and food. Friendly but sometimes very very busy at the weekend. Good location and reasonably priced for a city centre pub. Always a warm welcome.
G. o. G.
Fantastic food. Had pie special. Really tasty and great value for £8.95. The Grapefruit pale ale is really good. Staff very friendly and helpful. Nice building.
S. P.
Stopped in to Nottingham on tour and needed a 'Sunday roast' fix. I went with two of our party to the Cross Keys and had the most amazing Sunday lunch. Between us we had roast chicken, roast beef and pig belly. Proper home-cooked roast dinner! Brilliant.
G. N.
Absolutely amazing place always helping me and my dad love the stickys on Tuesdays love Gemma and steve
S. T.
I was here for the Burger night. You can only get selected burgers and drinks for 8.95£. Decent price, huge portion. However the burger wasn’t great. Dry patty and buns. Overall experience was decent but not spectacular.
R. B.
Brilliant food Brilliant pub would recommend going there staff are very nice
P. G.
Great traditional pub, service second to none, thanks for your hard work 👏👏
M. N.
Visited this afternoon on a whim. Although very busy we were made welcome by all of the team of staff, seated whilst waiting for a table to eat. Service and food superb.
Never disappointed. Highly recommended.
P. A.
Lovely pub very friendly staff, great food would definitely recommend for Sunday lunch 😋
K. H.
Pleasant enough pub, traditional look with plenty of seating inside and out. Food served which is good and well priced. The toilets could do with some work, strong unpleasant smells in the gent's.
J. J.
Wonderful food, friendly staff, and reasonable prices. What more could you ask for? Specials updated regularly, makes use of local suppliers.
M. M.
Excellent service and great food, staff was brilliant thanks
E. F.
Had a great night, brilliant atmosphere. Proper pub
G. B.
A little gem in Nottingham you have to go if you're about the staff were great and the food was delicious 👍
B. B.
Food really lovely 😋 so fully. And staff friendly and lovely make me feel welcome and safe with my friend in that pub 😉
P. K.
Went here to meet friends lots of choice bitter or lagers. American ipa is lovely but there are many more on the bar
A. S.
Another good food experience here, never been for Sunday lunch and it was lovely. No complaints and good real ale.
J. F.
5 stars from me for how it is dealing with the rules. Drink orders taken regularly no apps required cash payments. Friendly very organised. Couldn't fault the attitude of any of the staff. Wish everywhere was like this there is no need for apps just organised and adequate staffing and they prove it here
D. M.
Fantastic pub it really was a great Sunday dinner
A. W.
Really enjoyed a pint of Bass in this comfortable city-centre pub. Staff were very pleasant and appear to be getting used to offering the now compulsory table service. Have lived in Nottingham off and on for over 40 years and never visited this pub before, I know they won't havce to wait so long for my second visit!
S. G.
Good old pub grub and nice new smiling faces, always a few Nottingham odd balls in there as well for entertainment - you know the type long hair brogue a loud opinion on everything and a council house in Clifton.
N. C.
This is a nice proper pub with good beer and decent pub food. Staff are friendly and helpful, well worth a visit.
R. P.
Good old fashioned style pub, good selection of drinks, enjoyed ourselves until later in the evening when a few chaps came in who felt the need to shout and guffaw so loudly that conversation anywhere else in the pub was killed dead
J. S.
Fantastic pub great service and friendly staff
M. P.
Reasonable pub, good selection of beers etc, and wasn't over busy.
Bar staff polite, and helpful
P. K.
Watched the cricket with a decent pint of Guinness
C. M.
Nice pub, we haven't tried the food yet
P. G.
Food great, beer great, service great !!! What else do you want
G. C. T.
Great food and nice atmosphere.
J. V.
Arrived midday Friday without a reservation and thankfully they still had a table outside. The staff were so friendly and courteous to everybody. Couldn't ask for more!
C. “. F.
Went here on a Sunday. We pre - booked which I am glad as it seemed very busy. It did not seem crowded though. The staff were very attentive and very friendly, making suggestions about the menu and asking if our group had any dietary needs or if anybody had allergies.
Drinks and food were quite reasonably priced, came quickly, were medium sized portions and were well prepared and made.
Our group was made to feel very welcome here and I would definitely return.
T. M.
The Cross Keys is a lovely pub in central Nottingham, affiliated with Navigation brewery. The décor is ship shape, they staff friendly and forthcoming, the real ale selection (incl. some guest ales) more than adequate, and the Navigation beers themselves of good to very good quality. All are of course kept fresh on the premises. I had dinner there on two occasions, and both meals (a fried chicken burger with sweet potato wedges, and a steak with fries) were well-prepared, tasty - and arrived promptly. The food prices, especially on "club days", are certainly competitive - and the food itself significantly better than that a Spoon. The steak was cooked to order [medium rare]. This is a first-rate community pub which is comfortable, friendly - and it certainly invites you to linger. Outside seating provided, too.
K. K.
Great food.
Lovely pint of cider.
Very pleasant place.
C. R.
Really nice afternoon in this pub. Great food great service staff were very nice and accommodating thanks very much really enjoyed our time here😊👍
B. W.
This is an outstanding pub. It caters for all ages. Great locally produced beer, hand pump and craft. Way better than average food. Sport on big screen. Outside seating and it's on the tram and bus route.
J. L.
Great pub. Good selection of ales, lagers and ciders. Can't comment on the food except to say lots of people were eating. On a Monday night it was telling that they had plenty of people in and All Bar One across the road was empty.
D. B.
Great old fashioned style pub. Staff are always really friendly and helpful. Our go-to pub when we are in Nottingham.
K. B.
Nice beer . The food was excellent .I would highly recommend it , well worth a visit 🍺👍
W. B.
Absolutely brilliant pub.
Staff were all very welcoming , friendly and helpful.
Food was homemade and very good.

Went for sunday lunch with visiting relatives. The roast itself was fantastic and the puddings were divine. Only issue is they gave me so much mains i could not finish my pudding! Upstairs is also one of the nicest restaurant spaces i have ever been in. Highly recommended.
A. N.
Nice enough pub for its price range. I visited on a Monday and it was pie night, I had a good portion of steak and ale pie (nice and meaty), chips, mushy peas, gravy and a pint for £9. The food wasn't necessarily anything to write home about, but good for the price, and the pie was good. They also have a loyalty card, collect stamps for a free pint, double stamps on Sundays and Mondays, stamps only collected for certain drinks so best to check :)
R. M. U.
Excellent Service, Staff very helpful. Nothing was too much to ask for. Venue really nice and well kept and very clean.
On our top 10 pubs in Nottingham.
Well done guys keep up the good work.
5 Stars Well Deserved
R. H.
Nice pub clean welcoming friendly and helpful bar staff good selection of beer and lager. Unusually for a city centre pub you are able to hold a conversation here and hear what other people are saying. Prices seem good for a pub near the centre of Nottingham. The Cross Keys is a little way off the main thoroughfare but well worth a visit.
M. S.
Great place, will visit again.
S. S.
Excellent attentive service, food delicious!
S. S.
My husband and I are regular ish customers to the Cross Keys and are always happy with the swift service, excellent staff, fresh beer, good sport viewing and friendly vibe of this pub. Today I enjoyed one of their fresh, homemade scotch eggs (a Stilton and mushroom scotch egg) which was an extremely delicious snack. Overall, a great pub.
M. w.
City centre pub offering a wide range of drinks including several from the local Navigation brewery
A. S.
Nice pub in Nottingham city centre. I attended an event in their private upstairs room but had to keep getting drinks from the bar downstairs. The selection of ales was good and the prices pretty reasonable for the city centre.
J. S.
Super traditional pub in the center of town. Superb cask ales as well as a great selection of lagers and spirits. The staff are very friendly and attentive. Great brasserie styled menu which is very popular both at lunch and dinner.
d. h.
Pub was quaint, relaxed and friendly, but the function room now that's a completely different story. Looks fabulous from the pictures advertising it but in reality a massive let down. Tired looking, looks like could do with a good industrial clean to bring it back to advertised standard.
B. C.
Had a few pints in here a couple of saturdays ago. Very busy but lovely staff.
I. B.
Great place for really good food and very well kept real ale. Table service is a nice touch for a pub of this nature. Can get a little over crowded at the weekends, especially when there's sports on the tele, but the staff still do their upmost to have you leave with a smile on your face.
D. T.
After wrongly assuming it was just another old fashioned style pub we found out to be excellent service with warm surroundings. Menu varied with lots of good choices. Food was excellent, ,tasty and very well presented. Service was very good and attentive. Overall we were very pleasantly surprised and we would definitely return and recommend it to anyone. You wont be disappointed.
s. m.
Nice pint, real ales selection pretty good, seating out front to watch world go by
J. O.
We had a very good meal and lots of good local beer. I will definitely come back on my next visit. The staff was also very friendly and they gave us a good service.
A. B.
Best ale in Nottingham City centre
M. R.
excellent service when we were short on time. We had a show to see at nottingham arena and had booked a 615 table at the cross keys. we were held up in traffic and had to call to say we would be late - no problem, the staff assured us we would be fine and they would serve us as quickly as they could to make sure we didnt miss any of the show.
arrived at the cross keys at 650, said we had a table reserved, the member of staff knew who we were straight away, took us straight to our table and immediately took our order. Food and drink was with us within 10 minutes, and we were all finished and ready to leave by 720. We have never felt so relaxed eating a meal that quickly! Huge thanks to the staff for making us feel relaxed and comfortable when we had been concerned we would have to either skip our meal or be late for the show. Brilliant service!
C. O.
Great beer. Good staff
M. C.
Great pub smashing bar staff always enjoy a pre match pint 👍
D.
Good food, reasonable portion size, £10.95 for 1 course. Basically I would say that on Sunday they offer a table service posh carvery. Just to add that the service was very good indeed and pre-booking guarantees a table.
M. W.
Never changes this place one of my Nottingham City favourites
S. B.
Great meeting place with good atmosphere
G. J.
Great simple food.
Sunday roast was lovely and filling.
Staff friendly and helpful.
Restaurant was busy but not loud.
Parking available in the multi-storey across the road. Though at £6.00 on a Sunday, not cheap.
A. H.
Great place to meet up with your mates, nice friendly staff.
Not much choice of non alcoholic drinks, only one
A. E.
Good food, excellent drinks and right in Nottingham city centre.
J. H.
Great traditional pub (not many of those about these days.) Good selection of drinks & great food especially the Sunday Roast.
B. J. P.
Excellent food & friendly staff!
G. A.
Decent food and drinks selection. Can be a little busy in the evenings due to location although that is testament to its popularity. Bright and cheerful decor. This is a solid beer bar rather than a craft destination.
K. F.
Googled "best Sunday roast" in Nottingham, and this is what came up. I took a chance and stopped in.... not bad, but definitely not what I would call the "best". Other than that - seemed like a nice enough pub, and definitely popular with the locals. There are outdoor tables in the alley if you want to enjoy the street view.
R. C.
Nice Food in a Good Pub.
S. B.
Always like a pint in the Crosskeys friendly staff well kept beer.
M. S.
Always good reception and good service.
T. M.
Decent enough burgers and beer. Service was pub standard. Tables were cramped; not ideal for big groups. Food was acceptable pub grub but for the price v good value. Decent beer selection.
R. K.
I've lived in Nottingham for 15+ years and never been to this pub before. What a cracking place it is. Very light and airy inside, excellent beer and nice food. I'll be going back for sure.
J. H.
Fabulous food and wonderful staff. Our waitress was really lovely and helped us enjoy our romantic meal with her lovely and friendly personality x

A lovely traditional pub, good selection of drinks and friendly efficient staff. Seating inside and out so nice on a summer's day.
D. T.
Staff were excellent one in particular a lovely young lady who was very helpful funny and polite. And was going to run after me to give me back my glasses I left on the table.
d. k.
fantastic food and atmosphere.
T. K.
The food was average, though the steak was a little overdone. The beers were fine and so was the green tea. The service was quite nice.
M.
Had the asparagus soup, 'delicious' also had the cherry pie,and custard, would prefer the pie to be heated like the custard.
Staff lovely.
T. C.
Best pub showing the football in town. Wide range of Navigation Brewery real ales and various craft beers as well as friendly staff. Can get very busy but for good reason
N. T.
The Cross Keys is allegedly the only city centre real ale pub which you can't spot another real ale pub from the door of. Every time someone's reminded me of that I've tried to think of another example, but I'm usually too far gone by then.
The Keys is a little gem with its selection of Navigation ales. A city centre location with a heavy local bias as well as welcome to tourists, it's reliable either as a place for a pint or a prelude to a party. Well priced for the city centre, it has a decent stand-up bar area and a quieter lounge which doubles as the day to day restaurant, though there's a funnier Alice in Wonderland room upstairs.
The outdoor seating is in a lane that's often filled with local art from the little studios that line it, giving this a momentary continental boho feel that adds to the ambience.
Staff are charming and add considerably to the venue's appeal, which can be something of a rarity in the city centre.
Food comes plentifully and reasonably priced. Several nights are themed and there's a loyalty dinner club scheme.
The crowd varies. Locals seem to predominate but the proximity of a number of mediocre hotels sees hungry tourists wandering in seeking refreshment. The venue shows sport, but there's never an overpowering sense (or smell) of sports bar. It's very popular with the city centre after-work crowd.
The Cross Keys has a great feel, good beer and spot on staff. And at these prices, you'll definitely stay for more than one.
T. M.
My go to for an after work pint. Seating is often available and the drink selection is great. Staff seem to know their stuff. The food here is also highly rated by friends.
T. c.
Great old pub with good laid back atmosphere. Good covid measures in place. Very quick bar service.
A. W.

A nice little surprise - good food and reasonably priced drinks. Most evenings have a cheap nice for one type of food or another (Wednesday was burger night) but certainly not cheap in terms of quality.
J. O.
Good old traditional pub in the city centre .Beer variety very inconsistent since being taken over by Navigation people.Glad to see Doom Bar on offer last couple of visits.
Food is good here.

Nice venue for a good pint of beer in the evening. Good selection of local ales and although quite busy, plenty of people behind the bar to keep the waiting time short.
M. D.
Ate food there which was good portion size and good quality. Looked like the place gets busy at night, obviously a good place for a drink in a traditional English pub
