Tina and Lucy facilitated a fantastic wake for my wife. We were able to have over 100 people fed and watered with Caribbean food (from the Chefs Hut) and sandwiches etc from Number One. I am sure Gail would have been proud of the wake.

Absolutely brilliant! Staff are very knowledgeable of their menus and their drinks. Well worth every penny. Carvery was fantastic! Choice of 4 meats and a wide variety of seasonal veg! Amazing place. Will defianlty be returning.

The bar tender was very attentive and helpful. The buffet was appreciated but the sauage in the sausage rolls was in short supply. The carvery wasn't functioning because of Covid but the is an odd ordering system requiring a tick for what you want in most categories but a tick for what you don't want in the veggies.

I went for lunch on 05/11/19 with my mum. We were served by Lukey and from the moment we walked in until we left the service was second to none. He couldn’t do enough for us. We chose the steak and it was cooked to perfection. Over all it was the perfect visit. I have dined here before and every visit has been wonderful. We will definitely be back.

The food is very good. Good quality and well cooked. The staff very polite. They first put us six in the bar where it was very noisy. After I complained they put us in an alcove which was better but still near the bar so still noisy. They had two functions on which took up most of the room so really they should not have taken our booking so only three stars.

Beccy and the team were amazing last week catering to our family party in the function room area (very good space and set up for larger gatherings ) 23 of us in total and the food and service was excellent. Second time I'd been, today with 3 friends.. Carvery had good choice and price was very reasonable. The let down was the food was only warm so by the time you had only eaten half,it was cold.. Saw another couple I knew and they said the same. Very disappointing.

We had a fairly big party...9 adults and 3 little ones..we were made welcome...served quickly and efficiently...the food was well presented and well cooked. Family friendly is a perfect description. I'd like to try other things on the menu so will be going again.

The meat was well cooked and not dry which can be a risk at a carvery, the service was excellent and all the staff were really accommodating, especially as we had two small children in prams with us. My only issue was that the broccoli was overdone but then it is one of the hardest vegetables to have on a carvery.

We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday here the other week and we were not disappointed. They did everything they could to accommodate us and make us happy and comfortable. The service was great and friendly and the prices reasonable and it had a nice family atmosphere. I had the butternut and betroot burger which was very satisfying for a veggie! Everybody had a good time and appreciated the space and relaxed atmosphere for the kids.

Excellent Carvery today for our group of 12 , adults and children . Had booked in advance , and so pleased we found this 3 miles from Nottingham Centre . Best Beef tasted for years and vegetables so fresh and tasty . Cauliflower cheese and parsnips in particular . Great food , great value for money and staff that look after you properly with a smile on their face ! Others had chicken , pork and lamb with same response - wonderful ( Thank You - we will be back soon )

I took a party of Senior Citizens for lunch and we all enjoyed an excellent lunch. The atmosphere was warm and friendly and nothing was too much trouble. Special thanks to Beccy and to all the team for serving nearly 30 people at the same time and all the food being fresh, tasty and piping hot.

Went for the first time last night (June 2015). The pub specialises in fish for its mains and starters with some interesting items. It also caters for some '2 for £10' meals, some of which are locally sourced, which I like a lot. Not feeling incredibly hungry, I tried an offering from the 2 for 10 selection and was pleasantly surprised; well cooked, well presented, nicely seasoned and subtle tastes. My good lady had the salmon which she said was the best she'd had for years. It’s a bit more expensive than other pubs in the area, but then there's a lot more to it and its clean and tidy. Definitely going back with a view to trying some of the fish dishes. Nice one Elwes!

I arrived at the Elwes Arms with my family. Having been to colwick woods and was greeted by a lovely warm pub. Thier was plenty of room for all of us .A selection of real ales which they gave a discount with a camra members card We where presently surprised to find when ordering food that they gave 2 for 1 meals which was great value The toilets where very clean. We will certainly call in again when we are in the area.

I have just read the review I wrote after we came for a meal for Bryan's 80th Birthday. Decided to write a more update review. Came last Sunday for lunch three of us, Meal still wonderful the fish was devine, the atmosphere happy & relaxed, the staff, although extremely busy always cheerfull & helpful.
