w.Lovely building. Like a pub and registry office all in one.
Great for small weddings, as it has almost everything... car park, history, small area for photos outside. However, was a little let down on the food. Sour dough toast, which was like a rock. And brocoli that was crunchy.... to the point of being almost fresh. Staff were very casual too. Nice staff mind... nothing wrong with them, just not smart. Not quite wedding....
T. M.The Embankment is a spectacularly beautiful, very large pub to the south of Nottingham centre, between the station and the Trent Bridge cricket stadium. A good place for cask ale lovers, and a great venue for hanging out for a couple of hours. Friendly staff, wonderful, extensive outside seating area, and not too loud. What's not to like?
T. T.I am bound to be bias as my wife and I had our wedding here which was obviously the 2nd best day in both our lives (so far)
However we have always had great service the regular food is awesome and one of the many reasons we love going. This also benefits from being like all the other Castle Rocks in Nottingham in that it serves a large variety of different draught.
It is stupidly busy on Forest match days but don't let the que for the bar put you off the staff know exactly what they are doing and you can been seen too in a matter of minutes.
The great outdoor seating means the pub is perfect no matter the season.
The building is also an old Boots Pharamacy (hence the decor) so if you haven't been go

C. S.A very good Sunday Lunch.
The pub is part of the Castle Rock group so the food is usually good. The portions and quality of food is on average a little better here than some others from the same brewery.
The beef was tender and not too fatty. The roast potatoes were excellent. Another dish purchased was the Brie Wellington which was good. I'm not a parsnip fan but the shaved parsnips were actually rather nice.
The only reason why I have given this 4 stars is because the outside could have been a little cleaner as there were a number of cigarette ends strewn around the beer garden.

The beer choice is very good indeed and the food is incredible. Check out the Sunday roast and you won't be disappointed, I assure you!
The staff are really good at taking into account dietary requirements such as vegan or gluten free. Highly recommended.
S. B.Nothing really wrong with the place just need the bar management to be different on Match days. Waiting 35mins to get served is not really good enough. Just a bit of advice from another bar owner maybe have a bottle only section, and only have one lager one cider on and a member of staff just keeps pouring lager not serving. It will speed service up loads. Like I said still a great bar
A. H.Service was a little slow and had to check where our food order had got to. On arrival it wasn't entirely hot....but it was excellent quality. The staff were also pleasant. Would have been 5 stars if we hadn't waited so long and the food was hot but would definitely go again.
A. H.We booked two tables of 6 for a meal after training. We actually had more people at training than we expected and turned up with 17 people, but the staff were extremely accommodating despite also hosting a wedding party. We were given the whole conservatory to ourselves, which was especially kind as Forest were playing and the pub was about to get very busy. Our waitress, El, was excellent. She made sure to take our food order so that we would get it before they got too busy. We didn't wait long for food at all considering they had the wedding party as well. The food was also absolutely excellent, with plenty of vegan options. 10/10, absolutely recommend.

P.Could do with some basic cleaning outside. Lots of rubbish on the floor and dirty ashtrays in the outside area. Otherwise it's generally a nice spot to enjoy a beer, lots of selection at the bar and friendly bar staff.

Very quiet when we arrived and managed to get a table but a couple of beers were out (it was later in the day) and not coming back on. Filled up really quickly with cricket fans and had a good atmosphere. Staff served everyone quickly but still a small queue at the bar because of number of people. Really nice outside area and seating. Good beers and worth visiting but if you don't like crowds avoid times around football/cricket.

A. B.Fantastic time at the riverside festival, the fireworks were amazing "Thank You". Everyone happy and no trouble in sight. 'Great'. Thank you to the organisers and the patrols (police) keeping us safe and for the bus stewards after the event making sure we all got on the long queue of buses lol, without any problems.

2 Sunday roast dinners ordered, two very happy customers! A great roast dinner, crispy roast potatoes, seasonal veg cooked well (not limp & soggy) mash, Yorkshire pudding, crispy stuffing ball not forgetting the gravy, so flavoursome! For £10 this was a great meal at a good price.
Couldn't fault it in any way. Hope it's as good on a return visit...

A. A.I cannot thank and praise the staff for the lovely birthday meal we had today for my 11 year old. They were very accommodating, friendly, attentive and made us feel so relaxed like we were enjoying our meal at home. There were 15 of us with many requests and changes of mind but the the staff remained professional and helpful. Our order was for 5 pizzas, all of which arrived hot, well presented and very tasty. This is our second family birthday gathering at The Embankment and we will certainly highly recommend and return.

Also been there for drinks on different occasions and staff will go beyond to meet your needs. Beautiful inside too, great food. Great outdoor and inside seating. Over 18+ area for those who don't want to be seated with families.

M. B.First time I've been disappointed with the Sunday roast. Usually top quality food and among the best in Nottingham, but clearly they've reduced the quality and increased the price. They did throw a glass of wine in, but I'd have preferred a better quality meal. Low grade beef and watery 'gravy' as well as bland veg and tasteless mash. Shame, but I'm sure it'll get better again once more people are venturing out. I've always liked the place so here's hoping!

S. M.We went here before the forest game around 13:00 until 14:45 as it's located opposite the city ground, really friendly environment, nice atmosphere and the door staff were friendly too. The place is clean and a good selection of Beers with fast service. The only down point was that there were several tables which had been reserved and left empty and there were a lot of people just stood around empty tables. Crazy being able to reserve tables at this time especially on match days. The place was packed and I had 2 young kids so we sat at one of these tables anyway as the locals said that most of the time people never show up. True to form no-one turned up. 5 star place and Would go here again but marked down for table reservation on match days.
G. L.We booked our wedding at The Embankment in October 2019 after our first venue cancelled on us. The wedding coordinator, Shereen, was absolutely amazing. She made everything so easy for us and we couldn't have been happier. The day was perfect and everything about the venue was beautiful. Our guests loved it and the ballroom was a total surprise to them, not what you expect when you're downstairs in the pub! Thank you to everyone involved for making our day perfect!
H. v. W.Too many choices on the menu! Everybody in our group had something different but everybody was pleased with their choice. Caesar salad looked amazing. We sat in the conservatory. It was a little cool in there. There was plenty of room for the baby in the pram.

t. m.Quiet early doors visit, OK for a pint and read the paper. Busy later with football people no doubt. Big place, used to be a social club for the Boots company years ago. Unusual design with several rooms. Very suitable for "occasions", weddings and so on. Also perfect starting point for the local sports stuff if cricket and football.
G. L.The Embankment is now my new favourite pub. Where do I start? Firstly it's a part of Nottingham history. Half of the building was one of the first dispensarys opened by Jesse Boot. The other half was a gentleman's club where Jesse Boot had his office. The office is still intact and forms part of a the upstairs function rooms (these do not form part of the public bar but are well worth a look if you get the chance.) It's run by the Castle Rock brewery and if you like the idea of choosing from lots of different real ales from a range of breweries before you even order then you will love the Embankment. The food is tasty and great value. I ordered a curry and a pint for £10 and I thoroughly enjoyed the taste as well as the price. I fancied a little something extra and, although it wasn't on the menu I was served a nice crumble. There is a dining area, and an outdoor area and three distinct rooms. The atmosphere and the staff are really friendly. They have board games available. This is the perfect place for a casual drink on a Friday night especially if you still want to talk to the people you're with.
S. B.Used to be the old Jesse Boot social club, so has a lot of history behind it and can be seen in its tasteful restoration. We only went in to sample a few beers but I was impressed with what I saw. There is a good beer selection to choose from and their menu looks quite good.
I will certainly be visiting again and would recommend.

A. F.The pub itself is a typical "British" or "English" pub. Decent choice of beers on the tap; nice and clean interior; and plenty of tables, chairs and standing around area as well.
At certain times on certain days it becomes a football pub, with fans gathering for pre-match and post-game pints. It was a really nice surprise though to hear a 'proper bloke' ask on a summer Friday afternoon about the type of rose wines available to punters as he expressed a strong liking of the aforementioned fruit based drink. In other words, he was not your typical Carling drinking Forest fan.

M. C.This is a fantastic, historic building that used to belong to Boots as was, at one time, its social club. Further reincarnations have seen it become the fantastic location it is now.
There is a good selection of beverages and the food is good if a little pricey for what it is.
It is certainly a place that I would heartily recommend!

S. H.Food was very tasty and plentiful, no one had room for pudding!!!There was a vegan option of cashew nut roast which was lovely. Others in my party had turkey and they had 3 large thick slices each. Pub managed to be both large and cosy at the same time. Dogs are welcome which is brilliant.

It has had many different styles in its time but is now mostly American type food. The big plus is that it has its own brewery!!! All open and on display. 10 percent discount for camra members. Good beer !!

J. M.Possibly the best selection of ales in Nottingham, a huge array. Ample parking, and a very comfortable restaurant section offering great food. I had a steak sandwich that was superb, quality ingredients cooked well.
