Always a good option for a nice carvery, on my last visit unfortunately the guy serving on the carvery was on his own and created a long wait time, he needed help to bring him fresh meats so he could stay serving. Also he didn’t say a single word to anyone whilst serving just took the ticket,a smile would of been nice aswel.
I had to ask for a cloth to clean my table,it was a busy Sunday but I do feel the standards have dropped from previous visits

Staff very friendly and food tasty, great place to go if you fancy a bite to eat at a very good price. Relaxed atmosphere. If anything the back area could do with a little TLC but doesn't take away from a tasty carvery or burger. Will definitely be back.
N. B.
Friendly and helpful staff, reasonable prices. The food is better If you order items from the menu. The carvery looked and tasted like it had been on the warmer for a while as we were dining at a quiet time, sauces and gravy left open that should have been covered. Seating in the booths badly in need of refurbishment. That aside, I would still recommend this place if you are travelling between Nottingham and Grantham on the A52 and you fancy a break.
C. N.
Carvery was lovely, super fresh with great selection! Staff super friendly very reasonable price!

Visited again as we pass returning home from fishing at woodlands water. (Well a little detour). (It's worth it). Fantastic carvery as always. Well worth the money. It's definitely on par with Toby carvery but much cheaper. The guy behind the bar is very polite and helpful. Thanks to all the staff for a lovely dinner.

Our first visit here for an impromptu carvery. I must say we were very pleased with the food, space and helpful staff. Will most certainly be visiting again in the not too distant future with family. Great outdoor play area too!
Y. P.
Staff are friendly and welcoming, unfortunately the meat side of the carvery was limited and portion size small, plenty of sides such as vegetables and potatoes to be had but was let down with the cost and slithers of meat.
Hats off to employees as its a busy place.
Unfortunately the family won't return but we wish you the best for the future !
R. K.
Great food, amazing service, and overall well-filling portion sizes. I like the fact that they always freshly and completely organically carve the meat out before serving it. Great place, would eat there again!
S. W.
Great breakfast today, everything hot, fresh and plentiful, new chef behind the counter was a right laugh and obviously took pride in his work, which could be seen, eggs were cooked perfectly sunny side up!
Keep up the good work, will definitely be back for more excellent breakfasts!

The food was good. It was hot but lacked any wow. Short staffed and inexperienced staff. But trying hard. Very busy at Sunday lunch. Need to concentrate on a limited menu get that right and take it from there. We were a large ish group of ten half had carvery one had pizza others burgers and one veggie. Had to ask in if veggie was ready so we could all go to carvery together. By the time we got back to table others had eaten. Pizza was ready but no one bought it to us and we eventually had to fetch it ourselves.
K. H.
Good value menu especially the breakfasts and carvery. Drinks very reasonably priced . Plenty of car parking. Comfy seating inside and tables outside. Staff very friendly and helpful.

This was great value for money, the portion size is fantastic. I had the raging bull mkII burger meal. Everything was good, and well prepared, it was not to my taste, but it was cooked well, and well presented. The halloumi were fantastic and the sweet chilli dip was a stand out. The kids meals were great value and the carvery was excellent. Our family of 5 ate out for under £40. The only criticism was this, there is a sign saying wait to be seated. But no one was there or came to seat us. In the end a customer advised us to sit down as no one comes.
R. H.
Very friendly service as ever. Good value for money. Food hot and fresh. We was served by Cat today who was very helpful and welcoming
S. R.
Had a breakfast here yesterday morning was absolutely stunning. Can not fault it it was a help yourself style breakfast everything was nice and fresh will 100 per cent go back and recommend anyone to give it a try.
C. J.
Tasty basic carvery, very well priced a Sunday roast every day. Also a comprehensive menu, still untried but we will be back.
S. M.
6 adults, 6 sunday lunches, well priced, a good choice off the menu, would recommend and will return.sorry very much slip of the thumb, definitely 5 star.
A. W.
Always excellent service, great food, very friendly staff. We were served by Cat who was really welcoming and helpful.
N. K.
Meal was very nice and reasonable priced, but it was stiflingly hot in there as they had the heating on at 4pm when there really was no need for it.
J. M.
Visited today for breakfast, having visited afew times recently for dinner you can see there’s new chefs here and by lord you can tell the difference in the food keep up the good work. Service needs abit of improvement tho..
C. E.
Beautiful decorations with plenty light. Parking spaces available. Beer garden. Wheelchair accessible. Friendly and polite staff
S. E.
Staff were very helpful and friendly. The meats were melt in the mouth and the 5 choices of vegetables were perfect
M. H.
Hadn’t been in for months. Been in twice recently and it was excellent. It has improved so much. Food was fresh and the staff were brilliant. Really welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. Really impressed, will be going back in regularly again
S. R.
Been today for a family boxing day celebration and can honestly say it was fantastic the atmosphere was great the food was gorgeous and the staff were wonderful. Everyone in the party agree what a lovely meal it was and will be booking again next year and hopefully bringing along more of the family along.

We went for Sunday lunch and the carvery was acceptable with 4 meat options and plenty of vegetables. The downside was that we were really cold as there didn't seem to be any heating on and it was a very cold day. A shame as it certainly made us not want to linger and we made a quick departure to go home and warm up. Pehaps that's the plan to get quick table turn over but we certainly won't be returning in a hurry.
J. L.
Booked a table for 9 of us loved how we was popped away in our own area think all pubs should have this the food was amazing and the team was one of the best must give special mention to Mandy she has world class service and was lovely and helpful to solve our problem we had would definitely recommend this place
L. S.
Gorgeous food offering some unique choices such as a carvery calzone which was absolutely delicious. Can't wait to try the breakfast calzone. A large open establishment with plenty of room to enjoy a family meal. The staff were extremely friendly. Will definitely be back.
G. R.
It's OK, good daily food offers bit they need to get the aircon working, it was very uncomfortable when we went.
L. P.
Friendly service from the barman Tom and our food was brought to the table from the Chef Tom too which was super kind!
G. B.
It was quite quiet when we went as a family which was pleasant as it meant we could sit where we wanted and it wasn't too noisy. Unfortunately though it appeared some of the carvery food had been left out a while causing it to go a bit tough/rubbery. It maybe a compromise due to going when quiet as I suspect the food rotation would be a lot higher at busy times. The place itself is very nice inside and out with plenty of seating and car parking, the staff are also very welcoming. Prices are very reasonable too.. I wouldn't let this one experience put me off from going again.
C. P.
Had a lovely carvery for myself my wife and two daughters great food and a good price would recommend
m. L.
With trepidation we used The Gap yesterday. We have had some awful food there in the past, but yesterday we could not fault the food. Hopefully it stays this way and then we can use regularly
G. M.
The staff were very efficient and friendly the carvery meal was exelent the drinks and food prices were very reasonable the restaurant and the toilets were clean
G. _.
Arrived just after 7pm to be told there wasn't any carvery and to order from the menu. Low quality food and overpriced drinks. Some friendly staff but the experience was lacking.
K. B.
Food was nice. They even did a gluten free option for my daughter.
K. T.

A. L.

B. T.
Dan and Tiffany are amazing, brilliant customer service, such a good laugh would definitely recommend coming
c. m.
Didn't like how un organised they where from breakfast to dinner time menu, wait a while to even be served at the bar as there wasn't really anybody else in the bar area, there was 2 members of staff behind the bar walked of and left us stood there, very much doubt I'll be back
s. b.

V. S.
popped in for a quick supper, after booking online. Food and service were excellent! both Tony and the lady that showed us to our seats (sorry did not get her name) were very polite and nothing too much trouble.

P. R.
Very nice food but best to book in advance at weekends
P. O.

R. T.
Sunday dinner for five, excellent..
.
P. C.
Could Do with a clean if I'm honest. we arrived and were shown to our table I noticed some food stuff & general rubbish in the area immediately around the table.
On to the service, it was very slow as only a couple of staff members were covering the table service could have done with maybe 1 or 2 more staff members.
The food seemed to take forever to arrive having chosen the carvery for myself when it did eventually arrive it was massive & half of it ended going in the bin, I would say you most certainly Do get value for money.
s. h.
Lovely meal as always. Our server was Monica she was excellent.
M. G.
Food good staff polite would definitely call again
c. w.
Visited the Gap yesterday for a family meal, Roger & his team were very helpful. Very friendly & great with the kids, highly recommended for a family meal
D. C.
Lovely place to eat. Good value.
Staff exceptional.
c. d.
Fantastic food reasonably priced & very, very helpful & happy staff. Nothing was too much trouble. Definitely go there again.
R. T.
Lovely breakfast, pleased there was a baby plate as well so we could include our little one in our breakfast! You have a good system in place for ordering and the spacing is spot on. Only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is because you didn't have mushrooms, and haven't had mushrooms the last 3 or 4 times I've been in for breakfast, even before Covid!
K. C.
Went today with my husband and boys for a carvery very busy but still plenty of seats. Staff friendly a little wait on carvery deck for fresh veg but well worth the wait. Lady behind carvery deck interacted with my boys which was nice didn't feel rushed. Table service great to staff not pushy asking if wed like anything else. Also great parking and a play area would recommend will be going back again.
R. G.
Yeah the food was good and the staff were very helpful
L.
Absolutely lovely place to enjoy food highly recommended 👌
H. F.
Husband and I went this afternoon. I'm celiac and that dealt with my restrictions beautifully. Ensuring I had everything fresh so no risk of contamination. 5 stars!
A. C.
Just had drinks but plenty of quiet tables to sit at.
T. V.
Good value breakfast. The plastic tongs are like Russian roulette when left under the heat lamps.
Need to learn how to cook black pudding
A. g.
Food very nice service needs in improving
H. P.
Very friendly staff from beginning to end.
Gentleman serving us apologised the food took so long to arrive, it had only been 10 minutes. Food was great and will be returning and recommending in the future.
S. D.
Been several times for the carvery, always good value for money.
M. S.
Well separated clean tables, staff wearing masks etc. etc. etc. (covid rules) Excellent pizzas, burgers and sevice.
But still it breaks my heart for this and all pubs, inns and bars that used to be so full of life and be so loud. Hope life can soon be a bit more fun again. 🍻
d. h.
A very good meal if only draw back is the veg always the same no cabbage no plain collieflower they have cheese on it i dont eat cheese we will go back and try it again
a. d.
Fantastic food and the staff were lovely x
A. W.
Cannot fault the place. It's a nice carvery, nice surroundings, excellent service when we went. It's very popular with everyone I've taken there.
L. S.
Everything has improved. The food was outstanding, beef and gammon both melt in the mouth good. The service from all staff was incredible, assistant manager was happy to serve us and took the time to have a chat with me and my children, the chef was so helpful and quickly fetched me some extra sauce but was so happy to do so. The waitress/bar person was chatty and a gentleman worker asked how our food was. The whole experience was so lovely and calm and so much better than before. Will deffo be going back.
K. J.
Lovely food. Buffet style. They serve a choice of three different meats and you help yourself to roast potatoes etc. Also do lots of other dishes. Pizza etc. Loads for children. I hear they do a lovely breakfast at a very reasonable price but haven't got there yet for one!
G.
OK as these things go. I had heard lots of good things about this place over the years, especially about the all you can eat breakfast. I did come away a little disappointed though, there was little for my fiancee to eat as she doesn't eat pork/pig products, which leaves few options left in the UK breakfast word it seems. Is it worth the money? Probably, yes. Does it stand out? Not really.
I've personally had better breakfast experiences.
I can't speak for the other meals/times, but I was underwhelmed by the service. Not bad, but not good enough to make me want to go back in a hurry.
d. s.
Used to be a really good carvery but the last couple of times we've been it's definitely not been up to scratch.
D. J.
Popped in on a Sunday afternoon, we hadn't booked but the staff found a table for us a party of 3 adults and a toddler. Staff were friendly enough and service was fine.
Food was what you'd expect from a chain pub, perfectly fine but nothing special, price was a but expensive for what we had. We ate from the main menu and had burgers, any sides you helped yourself to from the salad bar and chips from the carvery section, we did have to wait roughly 5 minutes for the chips to be topped up after we had already received our burgers which meant the meal wasn't as hot as you'd probably hoped for when we sat down to eat it.
Overall cleanliness of the pub was fine.
Would probably visit again if in the area but wouldn't travel out of my way for a meal there.
M. F.
If you have kids and are looking for a budget friendly place for lunch, then this is the place. The carvery was ok but limited in vegetable options.
P. S.
Stopped off on the way back from a funeral in Yorkshire. Just a couple of minutes off the A1. Third time I've been with the family and wasn't disappointed with the food. Lovely choice of meats and plenty of veg all served piping hot. Will be back up in the spring for another visit. Many thanks.
A. T.
Great food, reasonably priced. Minor problem was waiting about 10-15 minutes to be seated, however were very busy.
A. P.
Amazing experience. The food was lovely and well cooked. A good family atmosphere. Would recommend coming here for a nice family meal ☺
C. H.
Average carvery pub, could do with a bit more selection from the carvery.
H. O.
Lovely food, especially given the regular carvery was just £6.99. Friendly staff, would recommend. 👍🏻
A. Y.
Love this place, been again today and as usual lovely food, lovely atmosphere and the staff are fantastic. Cannot recommend The Gap Inn enough. Never had anything but a great meal there.
C. O.
Last time we visited it was very nice, friendly atmosphere good food.
P. E.
Great time. Good carvery Good choice of food. Staff very helpful. Thanks for a nice meal.
A. W.
Loved it! Took my 2 year old son and the staff were so patient and kind to him, helped me out and were ever so friendly with him. The food is always the best especially the carvery. The place is clean and overall a good meal out😊
A. W.
Enjoyable breakfast in a carvery style establishment, that has adapted well to covid restrictions. Well guided by the staff as to routes around the restaurant to keep everyone safe. Great value for money.
V. C.
Always stop here on way to Derby. Great carvery. Good menu and nice staff. There is an enclosed play area. With tables and benches. Nice relaxing atmosphere. Seating area nice. Clean. with a 5star hygiene rating.
M. P.
Good food, tried the burgers to make a change from the excellent carvery I normally have. Must say the burgers were good and tasty, love being able to add to the plate from the carvery veg. Only downside was many of the drinks were off due to a breakdown and the restaurant was cold. I know that's not the normal for the Gap but it did put a bit of a damper on the evening. Hopefully our next visit these issues will be sorted
W. H.
A ride out on a Sunday morning with some friends for breakfast. Food was good and the place was clean and tidy. Some of the serving staff were obviously not happy in their chosen career, the lady serving the eggs being the exception, she was lovely.
We weren't a huge group and we certainly didnt fill the place and given that it was a buffet style help yourself menu we shouldn't have been made to feel a burden.
S. C.
Very busy and had to wait in a big queue but totally worth it. Very happy with the food and the variety available. Even had pigs in blankets, this was an additional cost.
My pudding was delicious and good quality for the price I paid.
Toilets were clean and well maintained.
Plenty of parking.
k. s.
I luv coming here nice and open areas n food is luvly
N. B.
Food was good, staff on the ball
J. G.

J. H.
Really enjoyed food here today nice selection on breakfast and I personally like the burgers also
P. O.
Food was ok didn't have a lot on plate but still made me full
J. C.
Food good... when it finally arrived! We ordered 2 carvery meals but the kids wanted a burger & pizza. The restaurant wasn't particularly busy but we had to wait 45 mins for the kids meals! No apologies for the wait & we also heard someone else chase up their order. Disappointing.
S. W.
Can honestly say we had a wonderful experience at the gap yesterday. Compared to a visit six months ago things have changed so much. The staff are happier, new faces are also a lot more helpful than some old faces I remember. Annie was amazing, nothing she couldn't do for us. And the new manager Chris is entirely guest and food quality focused. This place can only get better. Great food, great service and a truly pleasurable experience. Our two kids loved sitting upstairs and coloured and read stories before and after their meals. Keep it up and we will definitely be back again soon.
A. B.
Good.. but not perfect. We arrived and stood around in the entrance waiting to be seated but it turns out you just walk in, sit down and do whatever you want.
You may think I'm being an idiot but the following three couples who arrived after us all stood there until they gave up and just sat down. I feel that someone should be keeping an eye out for customers arriving and just let them know how it all works.
The food was OK but I understand its not a gourmet restaurant. I had the garlic dough balls for starter but the garlic butter was cold and rock solid, was I wrong to expect a melted sauce? For mains I had the burger with the 'Nacho Topper' but to my surprise the 'giant nacho' was actually a burnt poppadom! The chicken burger / breast was incredibly dry with no sauce anywhere in sight or in the restaurant!
Overall I feel that there is still work to be done. The room was very cold and staff generally seemed depressed. There was some member of staff slumped up against the pizza station all night and he just looked angry and miserable. I understand that the place is still fairly new and working out a few kinks so I will try again it again in a few months.
A. T.
For once I enjoyed a carvery may of helped that everything was just being changed to fresh but really tasty
P. E.
Just been up to the Gap Inn for all you can eat breakfast, the waiter Todd was brilliant, couldn't do enough for us and very polite. Food was lovely. Very well organised with all the social distances ect. Would definitely recommend. And all 1/2 price too
R. B.
Food is fairly decent, and very reasonably priced. Pizzas here are good, although once we waited for an hour only to be told they'd ran out of dough, and on another occasion my girlfriend and I both ordered a meat feast calzone only to be told I'd somehow been cooked a gluten free vegan calzone (?!?), and had to wait for a fresh one to be cooked...
A. H.
Love the carvery here. 3 sizes. Small portion ideal for those who dont have big appetite. Plenty of room. Also a serve yourself breakfast till 11am. Ample free parking. Wheelchair access
J. S.
Great venue for a family get together, very helpful staff and good quality breakfast buffet 😋 👍 😊
J. J.
Raging bull burger, best burger I e tasted in 20 years! Beautiful carvery great staff
A. C.
Lovely crackling! A great Sunday lunch
G. W.
Good value for the money very tasty.
A.
Good value fayre. Carvery just what required after long drive. Helpful staff, too!
T. H.
Occasionally go for breakfast and carvery but on this occasion disappointing. Food was good but the waiting time to get served and then to get food was just under an hour. The organisation wasn't very good as there was too many guests to cater for under the new covid management although the staff were very apologetic and did there best
J. P.
We stopped by [unplanned] on the way home from an enjoyable family day out at Belton House (a National Trust property, in nearby Grantham).
We were drawn in, off the A52, as from a distance the logo looked like one representing the Sizzling Pubs chain, which we are familiar with, as we have a local belonging to that chain. On closer inspection, when pulling into the car park, we realised that The Gap belonged to a different pub chain (Mitchells and Butlers), which specialised in pizza and carveries. Sounded good to us, nevertheless.
On entering with our two-year-old and three-year-old, we were greeted by a lady, who quickly directed us to a table, close to the entrance. The pub was already close to capacity, at 3pm on Sunday, so we were fortunate to be seated quickly.
The menu choice was exactly what you'd expect from a pub chain like this (something for everyone), but with the added benefit of having a pretty decent range of pizzas to choose from too. The kids menu was also offer a decent variety of options, with the surprise benefit of unlimited sides - perfect for our tomato-loving three-year-old.
Upon ordering at the bar, I was handed a buzzer (much like you get at places like Planet Hollywood or Hard Rock Cafe, when waiting to be called back, when a table becomes available). I was advised by the bar staff to head up to the "Food Collection Area" to collect all the food, when the device buzzed.
Some 40 minutes later, it did finally buzz. Only problem was, I had four meals to bring back on my own. One of us had to stay at the table to watch the kids. This process felt a little flawed, as a result. We had no tray to carry the plates back you see, so I had to make two round trips. Also, as adults are entitled to unlimited sides too (with select meals), it meant that my fiancee and I had to take it in turns to go up and get our sides, for both us, and the kids too. Not a huge issue, but still an inconvenience as only one of us could go up at a time, due to needing to watch the children.
My other minor gripe with this approach, is the fact that the chips were on the same cart, as where those queuing up for their carvery, were also plating up. I therefore felt the need to apologise, as it looked like I was pushing in front of people to get to the chips. Not the case. Just an ill-thought out service design.
Once we did all finally get chance to sit down and eat, the food was generally nice. Good, but not amazing. Cheap and cheerful, as you would expect.
The pizza was lovely. Definitely a stand-out option on the menu, even if it was just a Margherita pizza! Tasted great though. My daughter loved her tomato penne pasta too.
Regarding the atmosphere, we saw an array of clientele during our visit. Large families, small families, couples, groups of men, groups of women, and the elderly enjoying their Sunday roast. It's a welcoming pub, but evidently a busy one too. The staff looked exhausted, but were friendly enough, working their socks off, cleaning tables down, etc., to keep up with the demand. They were a credit to their employer in that sense.
As a stopping point for a quick bite on our way home, it served us well. The food was nice, but the self-service experience was a let down. Somebody needs to revisit the design of this as it wasn't the best of experiences for a young family like ours, who would have better benefited from table service.
Even the ability to order via the app would have been helpful, with the option to have our orders delivered to the table, with the sides requested upfront - much like Wetherspoons'.
All in all, it was a pleasant enough visit. Would we come back? Probably not, unless passing. I'd also probably research other nearby pubs and restaurants, as and when we make a return visit to Belton House, just to weigh up our options.
A. P.
Very good value carvery with very friendly staff. Would highly recommend
J. N.
The food was good, the staff were great but we went at a busy time so the food was fresh to collect. We have been later on previous occasions and it wasn't anywhere near as good but the food had been on view for longer and wasn't anywhere near as fresh. All in all though if you go, go between 12 and 2pm then you won't go far wrong.
D. J. F.
Had an amazing meal here with my friends for a Christmas catch up. Food was fantastic and the staff were really attentive.
Will definitely go back when I'm in the area
P. M.
We had pizza which was very nice (but had to brush black ash off underside!), salad ok (lettuce hadn't been dried enough, some not refilled when nearly empty).
Clean restaurant.
Friendly staff.
Plenty of (free) parking.
Free WiFi.
Would go again.
G. H.
Just popped in with the Mrs and kids for dinner. Was greeted and served by 2 lovely members of staff. Food was top notch and theres even a bouncy castle in the garden for the kids, so we decided to stay a little longer and had a cheeky pudding while the kids was playing.
R. F.
My First time visiting the Gap Inn and I can say we will definetly back again. Had a great Sunday Carvery with a great choice of food available. The staff were very friendly and attentive and would recommend for a visit. Thanks again
A. M.
Decent breakfast, good sausages and bacon x2 plus coffee for £15.50, can't go wrong
M. W.
Visited this morning for breakfast, been several times in the last three weeks.unfortunately not everything was okay today because Sean who l think is a stand in manager was telling several tables at once to queue for the breakfast...not too happy with that so waited .on the other hand Ellie who looked after my table was exceptionally helpful and although he was literally doing most of the work went out of the way to make us welcome. Also would like to give a big thank you to Dom on the counter serving the breakfasts.May I just add praise where praise is due
S. D.
Food was nice, but quite dirty - lots of uncleaned tables, despite not being busy; only carling on tap and small range of advertised drinks.
In reply to owner on what drinks were not on tap: any draft beer other than Carling nor Strongbow dark fruit - this was at 6.30pm on a Saturday evening. There was also no strawberry mixer so this limited the range of soft drinks, other than draught fizzy drinks only.
If it had only been a drink or two missing it would be understandable, but so many on a Saturday evening seems very strange.
A. T.
The food is okay and the service is friendly.
The wife and I stopped in for the carvery Sunday roast on our way home from Nottingham. We had a large roast each, a side of pigs in blankets (we didn't need these as the large roast came with a sausage and a big Yorkshire pudding), a pint of coke and a pint of lime and water. This came to £29, which was okay; the meal was high on quantity, but not as generous with quality.
All the roast meats were cooked well done; slightly dry pork, gammon and turkey is okayish, but brown beef all the way through is a bit sad. The veg was all a bit over too, orange and yellow carrot slices were probably originally frozen, sliced beans were going grey-green and cauliflower cheese was soft and needed seasoning. The roast potatoes were anaemic and definitely tasted of palm oil (so frozen).
We were didn't leave hungry, but this wasn't an epicurean delight. We came and went in under an hour and this place seemed well organised for this kind of catering, it was busy! It's food to please the hungry and hung over; so it suited us well enough on this occasion.
If you want a high quality Sunday lunch look no further than the excellent Rancliffe Arms at Bunny; I'd book and expect to pay more, maybe £38 for equivalent to what we had.
C. G.
Had a lovely meal today at the gap in . staff were very friendly and we felt very safe with the way they have put things in to place for people staying apart from each other well done to you all .
W. H.
Good excellent, service excellent. Disabled toilet a joke. Too many bins to get wheelchair in and flush too high to reach, it's not big enough to have baby changing in it as well. Management need to try it themselves in a wheelchair.
J. A.
Meal out with a friend, we both went 'large' with the carvery, every part of the meal was brilliant, puddings were tasty, staff were so helpful and friendly, we will definitely be going back. Might think about putting the carpark lights on, it was dark when we left.
j. l.
Can't fault it the food .the staff and The atmosphere was all very good . I recommend the breakfast it's value for money you won't get anywhere else and the carvery has a good choice to offer even for kids . I cannot comment on the beers as I don't drink ....if youve not been to The Gap Inn your missing out.
S. B.
Had a nice pizza, thin baze as I like, with some salad from salad bar, carvery is OK for its price.. Sometimes there wouldn't be much meat left, just bones and dried out left overs, so would have to ask to bring fresh in, after chef asking:what would you like?.. Not sure, why he thought he would get away with dried out bits.. convinient if you are driving between Grantham and Bingham. Staff is quite friendly, not expensive at all
B. G.
Nice and cosy. Friendly staff
L. M.
The food is good, but for the 3rd time, we have not got we asked for. You said it does come with the Chicken Burger Stack. If you don't provide it, it shouldn't be in your menu. (Nacho Sauce) A upset customer x
K. D.
Very tasty food and good service
S. W.
Just been to the gap following its change to a sizzling pub and was very impressed. As well as the all you can eat breakfast and the traditional carvery, they are doing pizzas and burgers all at a very reasonable price. Carry on the good work
V. C. (.
I think the food has gone downhill unfortunately. Nowhere near as busy as it used to be, which is such a shame obviously this impacted on the quality of veg but the meat was very nice.
L. “. W.
Having previously eaten on many occassions, today I have amended my review.
We paid extra for sausages as my son loves them. The server picked out 2 dried up burnt ones and served my son. Only when we sat down did I notice. A waiter did ask us if our meals were ok so I pointed them out he went to tell them but nothing was done.
The cauliflower was so hard we couldn't eat it. Disappointed with the whole thing today
D. P.
Standard chain food but from my experience has always been very good. They offer carvery, pizzas and a small selection of burgers and other foods. Good kids options at a reasonable price.
R. F.
Just dropped in as passing, and glad we did. Had the Calzone and a carvery, fantastic quality and tasted amazing.
L. D.
Nice friendly pub well spaced out, staff very pleasant good food. Would recommend.
D. W.
Absolute lovely place, carvery was spot on and the staff were so friendly and helpful. Definitely going back to try the home made pizza. 😀😀😀
I. F.
Been many time over the year's, Great choice for food and they also offer an excellent carvery daily at very reasonable prices.
J. B.
Nice standard carvery. Spacious . Outside area has tables and there is good parking Food good but sometimes left standing. Tables not cleared promptly and gives impression that service not top priority.
R. S.
Great to be able (once again following Covid 19 Virus) to enjoy a very tasty "Eat as much as you like" breakfast - washed down with a cold refreshing pure orange juice.
"The Gap Inn" is 5 minutes from The A1 (on the A52 towards Nottingham) at Grantham - very handy.

After an emotional morning, i called into the gap with my dad. (Fathers day) Annie was extremely helpful, kind and understanding. she went that extra mile to be accomodating she and the team couldnt have been more helpful. staff were friendly, polite and we did not feel rushed. The carvery was ace. highly recommend this place.
R. J.
Food ok. Went last Saturday for breakfast at opening time of 8am. Was told staff didn't turn up so had to wait outside and it was cold out. They could have offered us to sit inside get a table and wait. But after 15/20mins decided to go elsewhere. Normally a ok place to eat that why I have gave it 3 stars.
p. i.
Since it became a sizzler instead of a crown outlet .. not much has changed as far as the breakfast is concerned. It's pot luck really on having undercooked bacon and sausages or over fried fried bread. Beans n tomatoes .. can't really go wrong there. Never have chips with a breakfast. Hash browns are good. Eggs are greasy rubbery and under fried. Prices have gone up too. In saying all that .. if you need a good filling breakfast that's cheaper than a roadside butty wagon you can't go too wrong here. The bottomless coffee is also extremely good value for money. 4 stars .. I still rank it along side crown in 3rd with Toby 2nd and harvester 1st.
K. P.
The breakfasts they do here are great! All you can eat for such a low price. Coffee is refillable too! Unlike many other places that do all an all you can eat breakfast inexpensively, the food here is fantastic!
C. T.
Christmas day dinner was mediocre. Starters had obviously been left sitting out for a while before service as bread with pate was very dry on side facing g io and presentation lacked any finesse.
J. S.
Cat & kristian (Jacko) are absolutely lovely; everytime I come I feel welcomed 🥰 amazing food as per!
W. G.
Genial staff in busy but socially distanced pub. Good food, standard chain pub style. Decent playground in courtyard. Good size car park.
t. t.
We found a massive improvement in the quality of the food definitely going back 😋
J. B.
Very friendly & helpful staff, the carvery was lovely & the dessert even better
M. G.
Had lovely dinner and a drink. Staff was great had a laugh with them. They do work hard to make my family and I enjoy our stay. Will go again
S. T.
Lovely food, lovely atmosphere, great time
T.
Tasty good value food and fab, kind, warm service. We also love the playground too. Many thanks!
Z. P.
Came to the gap Inn today to give it another try and I must say I was very impressed had a beautiful meal with the family staff very polite and helpful food was delicious would definitely recommend I had a bad experience last year but I'm so glad I went back
J.
New owners not allowing my poodle! Not happy!
A. C.
Excellent food. Short staffed bar and told they didn't have a drink that i was then served with. Lots of flies around table inside. However i would go again in the hopes of no flies in a different area
L. B.
Had lunch today with 2 close friends, lovely meal food was great, one niggle no mustard to accompany the beef, but other than that it was great. Pleasant staff, especially Debbie, very welcoming thank you.
s. t.
Took family for a Carvery wasn't bad at all.
Haven't been there for a while as didn't care much for the food before. But will go again
B. a. J. W.
Very very nice breakfast, covid secure.
H. G.
We had a carvery.you could put as much on your plate as you wanted .it could have been a bit warmer .but for just under £9 it's good value for money
G. G.
Arrived at 3pm queued to pay at bar then queued for food turkey ran out Yorky puds run out and roasted tatties then queued for ages for gravy great if you have plenty of time to waist and like queues sat down at ten past 4
y. h.
After having a car accident nearby where there was no mobile phone reception we managed to get the car to crawl into the car park of the pub. They let me use their phone to call for recovery, made me and my son a coffee and checked if we needed anything before they locked up. Can't thank them enough for helping us out late at night.
M. G.
Great burgers and wedges/chips! Friendly and helpful service. Reasonably priced.
m. h.
Reasonable food, reasonable prices. Staff friendly and helpful. Makes a nice change to go out once in a while.
B. B.
Self serve carvery was very good, staff very helpfull prices excellent.
Maybe only criticism would be that food could do with being a little hotter.
Will definitely return.
C. K.
Staff really helpful and friendly. Pizzas yummy and the kids enjoyed the climbing frame outside. Would say it's for 2/3 year olds up.
D. S.
Had a lovely breakfast this morning with mushrooms and toast and a glass of cranberry juice. All set up for the day after that
B. D.
Lovely food, plenty to eat. Nice and calm atmosphere, lovely lady called Debbie came to make sure we were happy. Will deffinately go again
D. B.
Very quiet day when we went, so some of the food on the carvery was a little dry. Nice surroundings and food off the menu was good
N. T.
Lovely meal great place for family I including small children. Great food for the price had the carvery go large it's worth it
G. S.
!st time we have been in there and it certainly will not be the last. The staff were cheerful helpful . I would definitely recommend anyone to go here . I am always dubious of all you can eat breakfasts they normally offer sub standard food for the money you pay BUT NOT IN THIS CASE .
H. L.
Had a lovely carvery and the staff, especially manager was really helpful with my daughter and looking for foods she could have with her severe food allergies. Would really recommended, helpful polite staff
S.
Stunning food, fab service, the only downer was 2 kids running around without ppe...staff didnt deal with it to my knowledge..
T. M.
Food was great staff were friendly :-) highly recommended :-)
C. B.
Very nice
B. B.
Had the carvery here. Huge wait to pay and get a ticket, then all of the vegetable options had obviously been out a while under the heat lamps as there was hardly any left and they were quite dry.
D. L.
We has a roast dinner. The food is good enough but the service was too slow because they have too few staff. It is a similar situation for the breakfast menu.
J. C.
Seriously impressed with what has happened here. Usually underwhelming. They have raised their standards. Having dined here subsequently more than a few times now I can confidently recommend The Gap. Enjoy.
P. P.
We had a carvery at the gap on 30th March and the food was very nice. Although very short staffed they did their best to keep everyone happy.
M. B.
Buffet breakfast is back and i am so happy, the waistline isn't feeling good though.great food and service. Everything ran smoothly with all the procedures in place
C. T.
The best roast around for miles
S. L.
Glass dirty with lipstick. ..poured drink from that to a new glass....err..no!
Heating on ...2 August?
Food stuck on ceiling....been there a while!
Hence Dining experience not what it should be...
M. M.
Great breakfast here only thing missing was black pudding. not had a evening meal but breakfast was good and clean and friendly place
D. T.
Great good quality food .Served by really friendly staff who directed me over the phone to get there.
Definitely worth the 6 mile round trip ❤️
D. G.
If we are in the area we usually call into The Gap Inn for a carvery lunch. Lovely food and reasonably priced. Friendly staff too.
R. W.
Great food, friendly staff, great environment. Had a family meal there and loved ever second of it. Definitely recommend go try it :)
D. K.
I was surprised to get a carvery so good
D. B.
Really friendly attentive service, I had a fab pizza .
Would highly recommend
M. N.
It was ok, I went at the end of the day and there were only 2 meats left, the veg and potatoes were looking a bit tired and dried out...what you expect at this time of the day I guess, it would have been nice to have been offered a bit of a discount given what was available.
V. J.
Food was ok but service was weird. Had to literally serve ourselves and the food that wasnt on the carvery took forever. Seemed like they had limited amount of staff.
c. p.
The food was nice reasonable price .Nice selection of drinks .The only complaint it was so hot in the restaurant we couldn't eat our dinner. Looking around the place and saw other people dabbing there forehead
T. K.
Very friendly family atmosphere and food was enjoyed by all!
A. C.
Love the new menu but dislike the idea of ordering at the bar, sitting down and waiting for the buzzer to go off then back up again to collecting your meal. Friendly staff and cosy environment.
K. g.
Brilliant staff (annie) was a credit to your chain. food as good as always. Excellent. feel valued as a customer and to me this is important.
I. R.
Unusually good tonight although they had nearly sold out of Turkey due to a large group at lunch time. The ice cream is way too cold.
A. P.
For £6 we got carvery with all you can eat veg and sides, which was a great deal. The meat was a bit dry, though.
L. L.
Great breakfast for only £6 all you can eat with refillable hot drink. Perfect for me because I'm fussy and have allergies so had good choices for me to eat!😃
J. C. D. T.
Average place, overcooked vegetables
P. A.
Excellent food (carvery buffet) friendly helpful staff. Clean, cosy, very pleasant. I will return

j. s.
We came in for breakfast the food was really good nice and hot, the young lady behind the bar was very welcoming and very helpful pleasant in conversation will definitely be back again
p. s.
The carvery was excellent value for money. We certainly could not have cooked for this price. Staff friendly and helpful.
J. W.
Rarely am I disposed to award five stars, but The Gap merits them if only for the quality, quantity and value of its breakfast. Excellent!
d. c.
amazing value for money kids eat for £1 in the holidays we are a family of 4 and couldn't cook the amount of food at home for less money. will be going back a lot over the holidays
R. M. U.

E. F.
For the most part this place does a fantastic hot fresh carvery but there as been a couple of times its been dry and cold
R. H.
Not the best but its cheap and cheerful when having the carvery. Would be better if the veg and the mash potato was seasoned.
J. k.
Told 3/4 hour wait so sat outside with drink. Called about 20mins later. Carvery ok. Desert not what I expected but ok.

R. P.
Nice food, friendly service. Well worth a visit 👍 also reasonably priced.
K. A.
Poor and slow service. Tables not cleared after courses. We had to ask to have the table cleared after starters and mains. Food okay but errors in ordering food.
m. p.
A good meal, shame the restaurant was cold and there was little on the pumps due to systems failures. Won't put me off visiting again

THIS IS AN OLD POST NOT IN THE LAST WEEEK AS STATED. CALLED IN TODAY AFTER COMPLAINING ABOUT THE SERVICE JUST BEFORE CHRISTMAS MANAGEMANT EMAILED ME TO APOLOGISE SAYING MY COMPLAINT HAD BEEN TAKEN ON BOARD AND RECTIFIED. Definitely gone downhill, you have to wait a long time to be served at the bar even if it's quiet, and the service at the carvery is poor too.
R. P.
Fantastic food and value; put in the old part of the venue, needs a bit of TLC to say the least!
