Great place for carvery! The other menu looked great too! Really friendly staff would definitely recommend!

First visit since the pandemic started, surprised to see it had changed hands. Should have booked for the car very but the landlord squeezed us in. Good quality meal reasonably priced, could have done with more roast potatoes, plenty of choice of veg really enjoyed it. Will book next time.

A nice friend pub with a big area to sit outside. Access is very ease to get to from the main road. The pub is sat back enough that when sitting outside you don't get the traffic noise from the road like a lot of pub you can go to.

Well worth a visit on a nice hot day. The Great Northern is next door to a canal and you can walk off your pub grub and beer afterwards. The beer and food was good value served by friendly staff.

We had the Sunday carvery, it was very nice and beautifully cooked. The staff were very attentive and friendly and the pub was very clean with a good selection of beers. Will definitely be visiting again.

Great beer, but the place was extremely quiet!! If that's what you're looking for the great. I'm not sure if this place ordinarily serves food, but they weren't whilst I was there. Looks in need of a little modernisation, and a lick of paint. Great location though as the beer garden on the edge of the canal.

Been here for a carvery now for a few weeks on Wednesday and Sundays. It's consistently good! Great selection of meats and the portion sizes are huge! The even offer homemade pies some days. Meat a potatoe was amazing. The desert menu is great value also at 2 for £5. Massive choice of drinks from traditional lagers and bitters to real ales, wines and soft drinks. Also tried a burger from the main menu which was great, again a massive selection had me struggling to choose what to go for. Lovely little beer garden looking out onto the basin of the canal which I can see my self spending a good few hours on in the summer. Friendly staff in a very family oriented atmosphere. Clean restaurant and bar area. Defiantly worth a visit.

Old style pub with high beamed ceilings. Host was excellent and the food fantastic. Real ale choice was limited but good. Definitely go again.

Booked for 5 for carvery, good choice of meats available the usual and can give it a thumbs up but the potatoes (mashed), had no taste, neither did the carrots or cabbage which was a let down, can say full marks for the stuffing ball though, overall quite disappointed as friends recommend this carvery.

Carvery here is fantastic, the special cheesecakes were amazing hopefully they will become a regular thing. Quiet and relaxing with friendly staff and a welcoming atmosphere coupled with good food and a great selection of real ales.

Popped in for a drink in a real pub, such a fantastic welcome by Kirsty, sat herself down and talked about the pub and menu. Soon became busy, what a find and we went back next day for a meal. Meat and potato pie, home made, delicious, oodles of gravy and not only did KIrsty check whether it was ok but the chef also checked. What find and would positively return if in the area and recommend to friends.

Very nice meal, enjoyed by all. The landlord is very friendly and out to please which I find extremely refreshing! This is a pub with a mixture of good homemade food with a mixture for most needs. ie: vegitarian or pestisarian food and a landlord that cares. 😊xxx

Great place went with my family and my dog my dog was feed roast beef scraps by the chef and we were given some cut off as treats for him I had a burger probably the best burger I had in a while the onion rings were a bit meh but the chips were good and the salad was a salad the dessert are great I had a chocolate sunday which was great and there is a good atmosphere
