D. S.Very pleasant staff greeted us. The full English breakfast buffet looked amazing and we will almost certainly be having it when we visit again. Inside was well kept and tables were being wiped down after they were finished with ready for the next customers. Prices seemed pretty reasonable, too.
P. J.Well what can I say other than the meal is okay. I think if the chef could have cut the meat any thinner it would have been invisible. Also why serve smaller plates, people just pile their plates high and it is not a good look, serve 12 inch plates and presentation would be much better.
One last thing the food is always warm, in fact tepid, a meal should be hot.
Would I recommend? I would say, just go if you can't be bothered driving anywhere else and it is for convenience.

The food is cooked fresh although they can be a little slow and despite the stonehouse idea, I would have expected a stone baked pizza not otherwise.
Then again, this is not a pizzeria, but for pizza day I would have expected a better delivery. The dough did not taste like proper Pizza Dough but more like bread dough and the lack of a brick-oven reflected on the final product.
The food won't disappoint but won't impress either.

S. A. B.Just called in so we hadn't booked a table but after a couple of minutes they were able to fit us in. Despite being many empty tables around us the queue for food was quite long and we stood for 20 minutes before getting served. It turns out that take away lunches were being given priority over seated customers which was extremely frustrating. When we got the food it was nice and hot. How much meat you get depends on how big a plate that you pay for. Be warned you don't get a pig in a blanket with a medium dinner. Puddings aren't brilliant I am not a fan of ice cream sundaes.

D. M.Great venue for families! We visit a couple of times a year when there are a lot of us, especially with children. Our most recent visit was excellent even if the team were up against it. Two families to eat and we could tell they were short staffed. After an initial frosty start, the staff warmed and took very good care of us. The food came separately but it wasn't too much of a problem for us as we could see they were struggling. We had some great banter with the staff who presumably just wanted to go home after a hot, torrid day. Thank you guys and we will be seeing you soon.

I. L.I was taken there for fathers day treat by my daughter and husband and there family.
Following Corvid rules.
We were shown straight to our pre booked table.
Drinks were ordered and delivered to our table.
We were taken to the carvery to select our food from the large selection available meats carved while we watched, which was delivered to our table piping hot .
Plenty of good food to eat on each plate.
The staff were very busy but still made sure we were well looked after .
We really enjoyed the eating experience so will call again soon .

A. l.My partner and I went for the carvery and although we booked a time slot ahead of turning up we had to wait an hour before we were served any food. I would have rated this one star but there was a woman who was serving the vegetables that was especially nice to my partner and we both appreciated that. The carvery was dished up by staff rather than the usual help yourself style. For these reasons we will likely not return until after the restrictions the government has placed are lifted.

J. M.Staff were trying their best to get everyone seated and served but I think the staffing levels need reviewing by the management. It was a long wait on food and we had to prompt them to get the rest of our order but personally I work in catering and I know how hard it is when labour is being stretched. Credit to the team on our visit. Very friendly and welcoming.

In my opinion the food has really improved since becoming a Stonehouse chain and the variety of choice other than a standard carvery is a welcome change.
The staff always seem friendly and helpful and very efficient at clearing and cleaning tables ready for the next person which can sometimes be the downfall of these set ups.
Overall I'd recommend this place to anyone who wants a good meal at a affordable price... The only bad thing I can say is there's no sweet chili sauce for the pizzas

It's family friendly, with a small play area outside. My friend often brings her 20 month old little girl. It's 'not over priced either, it's very reasonable for what you are getting

c. g.We had booked for 9 people for my mum's birthday but when we got there No one knew any thing about our booking luckily it was quiet so we put tables together ourselves. Carvery was nice but the chips there were over cooked and tasted awful and as though they had been sat there for ages. The pizzas took ages to arrive and so it felt like our party had eaten in two halves and not together despite waiting a little while before going to get our carvery. Over the years we have been there often and so for a special occasion we felt let down.

i. l. w.Great access for wheelchairs, took me Mam for Sunday lunch, Carvery, friendly staff, even offered to take me mam up to the carvery so she could pick what she wanted but she likes a bit of everything so we did it. Love the roast potatoes and all the veg I had was cooked just how I like them. The meats where good as well, I had gammon and turkey. Going back again before Christmas with a lot of the family. Can’t wait to get them roast potatoes, Yorkshrie pud and gravy and you can have baked beans. 👍😀❤️
J. X.I visited with my friends and our children. My first impressions were great. Nice clean venue that was really family friendly. A pool table to entertain the older kids, a little play area for the toddler and an outdoor play area. The menu was good and truly adaptable as you could go up to the food and salad bar yourself and add whatever extras you liked.. I thought this idea was fantastic especially for those of us with fussy children.
I ordered a burger without sauce and the kids a macaroni cheese. As we were a big party we asked that all food be brought out together. We waited a rediculously long time for the food to arrive but most of it looked fantastic, however they had put the sauce on my burger so they said they would re-do it. The portions of macaroni cheese were appalling, I know it's a kids menu but the portion would have been suitable for a baby not a 9 and 10 year old, however I asked for extra bowls so they could have the extras like chips and salad and it wasn't a problem.
By the time my second burger arrived our party had nearly finished eating. However a nice bite of my monster burger revealed that the bun was like cardboard. Not wanting to wait any longer I pushed the bun to the side and ate the burger which was delicious.
We ordered desserts and as they started rolling out I was licking my lips in anticipation of mine which was free because of the burger bun issue. I However the waiter didn't know anything about my dessert so I had to wait again! The desserts were all good portions of delicious.
Overall I think the staff need to communicate a little more with each other and maybe work a little faster as people were always queuing at the til. It's a really nice venue and the staff were nice but a few issues here and there really affected my evening.
A. M.Very slow service. Had to tick what we wanted off the carvery and they still got it wrong. Only collected half of the dirty plates and never got offered any desserts. Ended up waiting a hour for the bill. I know it's difficult times but afraid wont be back in a hurry.

M.I went for a carvery today 7th August and the food was lovely the handsome man behind bar was very polite and help with the questions I had, the manager I didn't catch her name properly it maybe of been Layla or Leila she was very nice having a laugh with the young man behind the bar she helped him with the till because he got confused a little bless him, the gentleman behind the carvery was polite too. They was a old lady she was non stop. All in all very nice time. Will be coming back very soon!!
D. S.The COVID restrictions really slowed things down and therefore it took 30 minites to get a drink and an hour to get food. Having said that the staff were pleasant and informative and working as fast as they could under the circumstances and the food was lovely. If you are planning to go ensure you have plenty of time to spare.

I had the saver carvery as its about as much as I can eat.
The turkey was all gone only bits of it left, so I had Gammon a slice, the vegetables were a bit tough side especially the carrots. The roast potatoes were a bit on small side.
I was quite disappointed and won't be going again to that particular eatery
Like I previously stated I've been to that chain on a regular basis and we received excellent food however it wasn't to be at this establishment.

F.Had a lovely carvery. Food was very warm (even burnt my tongue) wide range of food, my son didn't enjoy is burger said it was dry and the cheese was over done on it but was hungry so just ate it. Service wasn't very fast but we got there in the end.

A. H.This is a wonderful place for a reasonably priced meal, especially for breakfast. It's a shame about the duty manager. He refused to look for my expensive Harris tweed cap I had left on a chair, saying no one had handed it in. Of course they hadn't there was no one in the pub then, it was early morning, just after eight. All I wanted him to do was to find it and put it behind the bar, but no, he was too belligerent, and put the phone down.

R. W.Carvery is fairly standard. Got all the usual meats.
However, they don't put the meat juice in their stock. So the gravy is that bland, vegetarian friendly, brown water that tastes of nothing.

R.Partner and daughter enjoyed their large and child carveries, I ordered chilli bake and had to chase up after 30 mins (during a fairly non busy period) - was small portion to say the least but worse, was solid as a rock and appeared frozen (it wasn't, but really was THAT solid I could pick the bake up with my fingers and it didnt move a single millimetre!). That said, waitress was very helpful, offered alternatives but given other family members had now eaten and with a toddler getting fed up, we declined and requested a refund which was dealt with immediately. Shame, as despite carveries being demolished quickly by the others, the experience of my wait/quality is enough to put us off returning to a local venue.
a. b.Sat by the window with a glorious view, good food for the price, didn't care for the onion gravy but th regular gravy is good stuffs. Has a certain charm about it if you sit in the right side, left side of the pub is a little dark.

J. B.Visited here on Sunday for a family lunch. Obviously it was busy being around 1.30. As we entered there was no spare tables, so we ordered our drinks and waited near the bar were they seem to be collecting glasses so we wasn't stood in the way . My husband asked the male bar staff if was ok waiting here for a table. He was very helpful and said yes and that he would get the waiting staff to keep their eye out for a table for us. A female bar tender asked him what we was saying and he replied " They can't find a table ". Her reply was "Well they will have to go somewhere else then won't they ". WOW. How helpful was she !! I went to ask why she would say such a thing but my husband stopped me. The helpful male bar staff looked very embarrassed by her comment but said to us that booking a table on line was something to consider in the future. We shortly found a table , the meal was great , the lady cleaning tables was very quick and lovely too. So all in all a great family meal so will visit again. But I would suggest you have a word with your female bar staff about their customer service because if it hadn't been for my husband she would have had a dressing down from me. I'm sure you can work out who it was by your staff Rota. Yes we expected it to be busy. We wasn't complaining and was happy to wait. Well done to the male bar staff because if it hadnt been for him we would have walked out. But ultimately yes we can go somewhere else , there are plenty of places we can choose to go to in the area but im sure thats not what your company wants is it.
L. S.I like the hole in the wall, me and my girlfriend visit regularly. As a vegetarian I am very fussy about where I eat and even when some places claim to offer vegetarian options I am not always confident in their preparation methods, I do not however have this doubt with this pub. The range of vegetarian options on offer is also larger and more varied than most none dedicated vegetarian/vegan venues which is nice. The views out of one side of the pub are also amazing.
There are a few things I would change however, my major gripe is the staff. Some are very young and dont appear to take what they are doing seriously enough, for instance, loitering around the seating area near the bar when tables are full of glasses, no one being at the pass at the carvery on occasion leaving people queuing and things have taken an extraordinary amount of time to come out if the kitchen before.

Really nice staff and very clean and well presented inside and out. Reasonably priced and the Food was lovely. We had a really nice evening...
