A. F.It was a balmy, sunny, lookwarm (in the sun) spring Friday afternoon/early evening visit with people from work.
The place was really nice, I had been here before when in its previous life it was called Jamie's.
The interior is OK, not 100 percent to my liking but we were there for drinks and company so I didn't pay much attention. Initially I resisted to like the fake candles, but after the third large glass of wine I found them really practical and safe.
We didn't order any food, but saw (and smelled) what others were having, they all looked and smelled appetising.
The garden is lovely, and on a hot summer day is probably the second best place to sit and drink lazily after your own garden/terrace.
I know we have just left a pandemic behind (sort of, or trying to live with it) but I really wanted to pay cash and that was not an option - in fact, there are no options, pay card, end of.
The service was somewhat slow, on second thoughts considering the place was far from busy it was really slow. Either that or we didn't time our next drinks order right, we should have ordered before our drinking vessels became empty. Or maybe everyone is just getting used to ordering through an app and on the other side getting used to checking the incoming orders more frequently in order to speed things up for the customers.
I mean don't get me wrong I thoroughly enjoyed my time in The Magic Garden and despite the slowness of service I gave it four stars!

J. H.Had a lovely meal here yesterday with my daughter while shopping in Nottingham. The flower archway at the front drew us in and the garden at the back where we ate was fabulous !!
The garden has a range of seating including sofa's, bar stools and eclectic chairs all sat under a canopy and surrounded by glitter balls and fairy lights. There are also heaters outside for when it's chilly. Can't wait to go back !!

R. S.Went for a brunch at the weekend. The service was great, we were really well looked after. Would highly highly recommend. Good was nice and there was a wide selection of drinks. We had a bottle of prosecco at the table at all times, so there was no long waits between cocktails. The approach of the staff is what really sets this brunch apart! Will 100% return, thank you for a great day!
A. S.Booked in for the high tea as a early birthday meal. Service was super quick and lots of drink refills were available (we had the virgin high tea so no Prosecco) the waitress was attentive and friendly, generous food portions with a good variety of sandwiches and sweets. The atmosphere is really nice and I would definitely go again.

I liked the layout of the garden and you can sit inside if you want. There are also plenty of heaters in the garden for when it gets a little bit chilly.

We ordered 5 tapas dishes for our party but unfortunately the first 3 were delivered at 15 minute intervals and we had to return to the bar to remind them that there were 2 more due. A shame really because it is a nice place to spend an evening out, especially the outdoor section.
D. T.A truly enchanting, vibrant and very well decorated restaurant with a global menu. It is a bit pricey but that’s fine giving the quality of food and the location. What’s really annoying is that the service could, at times, be slow. The staff are genuinely friendly.

Amazingly decorated different rooms. Great spacious garden (covered) areas. Funky lighting too. Team are so friendly and it's a great central location. Check out the caves too in the toilets....another cracking feature! Simply amazing in everyday. They even do bottomless prosecco lunches and high tea! A-MA-ZING!!

The garden is beautiful, with flags blowing in the breeze, disco balls glittering amongst the plants & when evening draws in, the lights in the trees & on the house add a sprinkle of magic. L.Really lovely place to come to celebrate, but, the app that you have to download on to your phone before you order food and drink , doesn't always work right on every phone - so it causes some people problems with ordering food all at the same time...... It's hard work if you're not I.T. savvy......!!!! Also, you cannot stand up, once at your table, without having your face mask on, and some people forget this , especially, if they are wanting to smoke, and not all of the table smokes.... It's polite to move away from the table if you finish your food first ,and you want a cigarette.... But you cannot do this , very easily if you are part of the same party, sitting at the same table....... A problem for some people this will be.....!! Otherwise good & drink is of good quality, and waitresses were very patient with us.....So, marks for that......👍👍❤️👏👏
S. S.Lovely resolution to the new restrictions. I really wanted a mocktail being 7 months pregnant but couldn't see any on the menu the waitress advised me to add it in the notes on my order and they would make me one specially for the same price of a soft drink, so thoughtful! Lovely atmosphere we'll definitely be back before the winter.

S. K.Lovely building, environment and decor, especially outside. Friendly waiting staff. Let down a bit by the mediocre food, which after you've ordered 3-4 tapas style dishes is quite expensive. Drinks are expensive, especially bottled (small) beer. Everything is ordered by app, and every time you order, there's a (removable) service charge / tip. I'm not adverse to leaving a tip, but it's every single round of drinks, and that's not normal.

S. H.First time at The Magic Garden but I will definitely be repeating the experience, had 4 tapas dishes and a flatbread all of which were amazing plus Mocktails and Cocktails. The decor is as amazing as the food and the staff were friendly and helpful, a must if in Nottingham.

J. W.Have been here on several occasions and usually enjoy the setting. There is always an issue though of some sorts when it comes to service. The app is their preferred way of ordering, the problem though is that the app is regularly somewhat lacking of the entire menu. They are very hesitant to take orders via staff. It was very quiet the last time I went and the drinks arrived when the food was nearly finished. This is not the cheapest of places but the price rarely reflects in the service.

D. C.The place is beautiful, inside and out. Staff are quick with the orders, friendly and patient. The food is very tasty and has some great presentation and a real home-made texture and flavour, with decent portions. My only minor things is the pricing of alcohol. You're looking at £5 a pint, which doesn't stand out for competition, neither does the selection. Even a bottle is marked up at £5, which is a little too steep to stay. The food I highly recommend for a decent authentic feel, but the alcohol, there are plenty more places to sit and drink with friends.

We only ordered one round of drinks because it took so long for them to come out. We waited 26 minutes before having to chase down a waiter to help us. Took a total of around 30 minutes to get our drinks... our food came out before our drinks which is a first, there was an apology for the wait time but I would have appreciated a goodwill gesture or a warning about the wait time before we sat down. We saw other tables struggling for refunds because they wanted to leave but they were still waiting on their orders. I would advise ordering all of the drinks you want in one go to avoid wait times in between.
It’s such a huge venue and it was busy, I think they need more bar staff?
Other than the slow service, this it’s a lovely place to be .. I would maybe go again if I have the time and patience.

Food order was 2 cheese burgers which were cooked to perfection and arrived within 15 minutes. Drinks arrived quickly and service was spot on.

Advertised as a warm garden with heaters and when we asked if they could get turned on as we were all cold we got told the gas was £30 and only lasted for half a day so they had stopped buying them! Charging £10 per cocktail yet not supplying warmth as advertised we moved on to warmer gardens.

Lost a star because we had pre-ordered food which arrived before any drinks and the waitress got Huffy, snapping "well it's here now" implying it was tough luck so get on with it. To be fair she did take the food back and brought it back when our large group were suitably watered. Did not spoil the party but could have done better.
P. I.Really nice experience and good service. Good range of different drinks, beers, wine, cocktails, and nice options for food - pizza, burgers, vegetarian options too. Big area outside with cover, lots of tables and space for groups - plus tables are spaced out well and everything is covid-safe.

L. M.A lovely Nottingham hidden gem. The garden was really nice and tucked away from everything. You didn't feel like you were in the city centre. Unfortunately, the rustic furniture isn't very practical. A friend went to sit down and the back snapped of the chair almost causing an accident. The food was nice but because you are eating outside, it does get cold very quickly. When offering the bottomless brunch for 1hr 30, I think you could do with more staff at busy times as we spent quite a lot of time waiting for the bottle of prosecco to be replaced. We also waited over 25 minutes for a member of staff to come over to explain the cocktail menu and contents as website only tells you the name and not whats in them. They never shown up at our table so we all left and took our business elsewhere.
R. W.Won’t be going again unless it’s summer, most of the heaters were broken so it was freezing, only one on other side of restaurant worked. I was waiting an hour for some chicken bites and fries, about 30 mins for drinks. The blue drink was so strong it was inedible not like when I had it the last time. The staff were nice tho.

D.Ordering on an app seems to be all the rage now but with that you lose that personal touch... we had a variety of food and drinks i had a latte which was more like a flat white still not a bad drink just not a latte.. my wife had a mocktail which while very nice was little more than a half glass of liquid packed with ice so really not good value..
Food consisted of a flatbread pizza which was nice accompanied by a selection of tapas type dishes all of which were luke warm to cold.. the lamb skewers were sent back the rest was OK..
We were told a refund would be made but I am not holding my breath.. due to the app and lack of customer service and continuity..
It was amusing watching waiters snd waitresses wandering around with plates full of food looking for the right tables abd probably added to the cold food problem..
I would return to good old tried and tested face to face service.. oh and try sending the food out at above the more safe temperature of 65c
