All the staff were friendly and helpful. The menu caters for most tastes and they asked if anyone in the group had any allergies before taking the order. I was given a free half pint cause we had to wait for dessert but I didn't complain or anything they just did it off their own back. s. m.I visited this place for lunch and I was alone. The welcome I received was 2nd to none the staff were very polite, welcoming and attentive. There were professional as well as being friendly. They immediately made me feel at ease and the food was excellent. I will definitely be visiting this place again.

N. S.Nice pub with a good selection of beers. It is reasonably priced with lots of seating both inside and out. The food menu is traditional pub food and they have set price menu offers on during lunch and dinner which cater for budget options. I had Hunters Chicken which was tasty and filling. Would recommend as a place for meeting people or large groups. Visited recently for a retirement party and was great for catching up.

L. C.I’m afraid I have to agree with the last person. Four of us went last night, car park was nearly empty which wasn’t a good sign for a Saturday night. We shared a starter which was fine but when we ordered main courses, the waitress had to come back to us three times to say they didn’t have something that was on the menu. Two of us ordered sea bass, there was none, one ordered lasagne, there was none. I ordered Hunters Chicken which looked very unappetising, looked like a slice of plastic cheese on top, a dried up mushroom, dried up chips, the chicken was also very dry. We were disappointed after having many good times there before. We feel very sad as we can see this being another place that’s going under. We hope something can be done to avoid that! The staff were fine if a little embarrassed at having to tell us things weren’t available.

T. B.I've recently updated this place to a five star rating. It's a quiet place with staff eager to help. The food is always served as quickly as possible with good presentation. The draft ale was nice. This place has a upmarket atmosphere. Decor and wall hangings are good and fit in nice with the feel of the place.

D. F.This is a pub from my childhood, thought I would not go in again. I recently went in a couple of months ago to meet a friend and was really pleasantly surprised. The food was absolutely fantastic. Have been back 3 times with different friends which surprised me but I really like the atmosphere and friendly people and staff. There is plenty of outside seating. Really lovely place to go and excellent food.
L. U.It is a lovely place with a nice relaxed atmosphere. We visited on 3rd Feb for lunch, unfortunately our meal took 40 minutes to arrive, which is unacceptable. The portions for the same meal were very different in size, though to be fair what we did get was very nice and hot. This is the second time we have experienced such a long wait for food and we wont be eating here again. Which is a shame as I was thinking of a having a family birthday celebration here. It does seem that there is a very long wait before food is brought out, and then a number of tables are served at the same time. The waitress and the girl behind the bar were friendly, however an additional member of staff wouldn't go amiss as at times there were customers queuing at the bar.

J. W.Good venue for a 60th party. The bar was fairly cheap and the catered food was OK. The only real annoyance was the stairs leading up to the function room were just horrible. Dirty, ripped and just made the entrance look shabby and old.

S. G.Tuesday lunchtime - 1pm not more than 15 people in pub. Not particularly friendly welcome as we came in and after we had ordered our food it took over half an hour to arrive. No apology was offered and the food was ok but nothing to shout about although had we not waited so long it would have been very good value for money but by the time it came frustration had overtaken any ounce of enjoyment.

M. T.I visit the Punchbowl at least once a week to eat, often more, and the service is exceptional. The food is consistently very good and great value - topping all the competition in a similar price range. The experience is rounded off with a cosy, warm atmosphere.
It's also a great drinking pub, and as it's been my local since 2004, my recommendation has been well earned from many visits over the years.
C. K.Food is good and the place has a nice atmosphere. However there seems to be less vegetarian options than there used to be and the menu isn't as good as it was a while ago. Nevertheless there is a good option of different drinks and lots of places to sit inside and out. Food stops serving at 9:45pm.

T. B.I came here with my wife and children Christmas Day. It was quite expensive but it was Christmas Day after all. And in comparison with some other places it actually turned out to be decently priced. We all enjoyed ourselves thoroughly and I would definitely recommend this place to anybody. The staff are wonderful and the food is quality.

H. R.Quiet, charming, helpful staff, very decent surroundings. It's been on my metaphorical doorstep for several years and I now can't think why we've never been before... But we're definitely coming back! We shall then try the food, which certainly looks excellent and very reasonably-priced.

R. S.Smart surroundings and a relaxed atmosphere make this pub a,pleasant place to visit. Food is standard pub fare, a reasonable selection and fairly priced. Just a note of warning about food serving times; although advertised as serving food till 10pm they can stop serving as early as 7.30pm.
R. F.After asking for an area for a reunion we were made very welcome. The Staff were pleasant and the food was well presented. Will definitely be having more reunions here.
