Lovely friendly staff and chefs
J. H.Been here a few times over the last year for dinner and most recently a Sunday lunch. Every time the food has been excellent. The lamb and mint pie is nothing short of one of the best pies I’ve ever had. Staff are lovely and friendly, good range of ales on tap. Always too cold when we go to sit outside, but their terrace looks like it would be a great place to sit in the sun. Sunday roast was very good with very generous portions. Looking forward to our next visit.
J. T.Visited the Red Lion on 02/10 for lunch, Ollie the waiter was very friendly and professional (despite not wearing a face mask). We selected a pint of Stella and a pint of Corona from their extensive range of lagers. On the food front we both ordered steak n ale pie, the pies crust was a little thin and hard but the huge amount of meaty fat free filling made up for this. The chips were thick chunky and hand cooked, a cravy boat and accompanying by a delicious pot of minted mushy peas. The Red Lion is an old fashioned hostelry with a lovely warm atmosphere and really worth a visit.

The decor is lovely. Pizzas were great and I would love to return to sample the menu in more detail. Thank you to all involved behind the bar and in the kitchen.
D. W.We have just returned home from taking Mum for a birthday meal. We were very impressed! Hadn’t been for some years (previous owners). Meal was really lovely, cooked very well, steak exactly as requested and the same with the duck too. The buttermilk chicken burger was too much for eldest daughter, a very impressive dish though. And scampi was really fresh and tasty too.
Definitely recommend and we will be back again in the near future too!
P. P.Really like this place. Visited on a number of occasions now. Sorry to see they'd removed the Pork Belly from the menu but hopefully it'll return. Had the Beef and Ale Pie this time followed by an excellent Sticky Toffee Pudding. Tinniest of quibbles would be that the real ale could be kept better.
M.Absolutely outstanding food with a great selection of beers wines and spirits. Simon the manager, Gemma and their team are fantastic. Very attentive, polite, just great service. A little gem un a little village is the Red Lion. Highly recommended.
A. G.Visited the Red Lion with some old school friends on a sunny Sunday afternoon (we sat outside on the terrace). Nice simple menu with options for 1, 2 and 3 course meal deals. I ordered a starter and roast beef. I was asked how I would like the beef - I chose medium rare (you can order an extra slice of beef for a small extra cost). The meal arrived and was cooked to perfection with really tasty vegs and lots of gravy. Good real ale and continental lager selection to suit all beer tastes. Recommended eatery, all in all a lovely afternoon with good friends and good food

A. W.Myself and 3 friends came for dinner on wednesday. I have the gourmet burger and it was amazing! It was flame grilled and it tasted so good! It wasn't greasy and the portion was perfect! We all enjoyed our meal and the young man that served us (curly hair, red face mask) was polite, friendly and attentive. I will definitely come back and recommend to a friend
