Lovely well managed country pub/restaurant our server was attentative and welcoming with a smile.
We had menus and asked what drinks we would like within a few minutes of being seated.
We (family of 4 2x adults 2x children) had ordered a carvery which was absolutely delicious all meats were cooked perfectly with the choice of rare or
Medium for beef and lamb cuts. Trimmings especially the dauphinois and roast potatoes were really good.
Small gripe with trimmings was a lack of veg for out two kids ideally maybe some garden peas and broccoli would be a good addition to the selection.
The deserts were really good and fairly priced, we will 100% be returning.

We had been recommended to eat here.
And we wasn't disappointed.
The restaurant was decorated nicely.
We enjoyed the variety of Gins on offer before our meal.
We had a starter and and main course.
We didn't have any more room for a dessert.
As a family group we chose different meals and we thoroughly enjoyed the food we have eaten.
The service was excellent and the staff very welcoming. We certainly will be back here the next time we're in the area.

One of my favourite pubs in Nottingham! Great food, beautiful beer garden, friendly family run pub which allows dogs - what more could you want (only for it to be my local!!)
Definitely worth the visit - HIGHLY recommend the Carvery on a Sunday. 10/10 on the carvery front!
Just a little update to say they exceed themselves time and time again! No request is too much! Still the best carvery!
L. F.
Absolutely fantastic. Sunday roast was on point. Loads of meat. Parsnips are delicious, I don't even like parsnips. Everything made with love, not mass produced. Each thing on my plate had its own taste. Best sunday lunch I've ever had. 10/10 would recommend. Will definitely be back soon! Thank you!
L. F.
Friendly and warm pub. Range of draught real ales can be limited. But there is confusion in the room where a projector and screen, darts, pool table, people eating and through flow to the rest rooms compete with one another. A games room is an excellent attraction spoilt by competing activities
G. A.
Tremendous food and exceptionally friendly service. The food menu is varied and uses local produce too, and the drinks menu is extensive, especially gin. This is definitely worth a trip.
P. A.
It's gone up market. We went for a weekend lunch, but their excellent tapas menu had gone. An expensive meal, good for a special event, but not for a day to day pub lunch.
R. L.
Always fantastic whenever we have visited, great pizza and great Sunday roast.
Service is always good and great beer garden in the summer.
Can't wait to revisit when Lockdown 2.0 finishes
j. b.
Staff were brilliant, food was amazing, great value for money and the kids loved the easter egg hunt. Definitely will be returning😁
W. s.
Brilliant service, lovely variaty of drink choice, amazing food.
M. L.
A wonderful Sunday dining, service excellent, friendly, food excellent, a must for Sunday lunch with family and friends!
L. C.
Always enjoy coming here for food and the service is spot on. Would of enjoyed a dish of vegetables with the lamb as it wasn't enough! The cheesecake was superb.
C. L.
Great country pub, extensive range of beers and special burger menu.
R. B.
Only had a bar snack/ side. But was nice munch. Bar staff friendly too.
J. G.
Ate here tonight with our two children and were really impressed. We had 5 plates of tapas for vegetarians and they were all delicious, served hot and quickly. The boys had kids meals and although the fish and chips was great, the Mac and cheese was a bit flavourless. Big portions for the kids. The staff were really polite and all the outdoor area clean and tidy with lots of tables. Will be returning!
B. T.
Recently refurbished and now looks as good as the food tastes!
A. S.
I went with my girlfriend three weeks ago. The Sunday roast is gorgeous!!!. The meat was excellent and they let you to try all of the types!!! Lamb, beef, gammon and Turkey. The man who managed it is really friendly and he got a lot experience!.The service was excellent, the waitress were flying on the floor!!!. We will come back soon!! Hasta pronto amigos!!!!!!.

Food is average. Menu looks really exciting but didn't live up to expectations. The child's play area is a good asset with plenty of under cover outdoor seats. Service is minimal and you're made to feel like an inconvenience. Not a very welcoming atmosphere which is a shame. We were bluntly told if we chose to sit outside then no table service. Another party turned up outside though and were waited on hand and foot. Wouldn't return. Nice location and the food fills a hole but thats where it ends. Offering very little in terms of customer experience.
E. F.
The food was nice but the service was poor, food came without cutlery so we had to wait for it. We had to chase a meal which didn't arrive and the dessert came without the ice-cream we ordered so had to chase that also. We got told there was no table service outside but the table next to us had full service, water brought to the table, food and drink orders taken (I think they were friends of an employee).
J. W.
Carvery is delicious, Alison gave outstanding customer service.
I. M.
Sunday carvery lunch was nice particularly the meat. The service was reasonable, not the best or the worst we have experienced. The deserts were poor, especially when the cost is considered, the Eaton mess was lacking in both Meringue and strawberries. Would eat there again but would be more demanding when asked is everything alright.
H. G.
The pie was very tasty.
Some confusion over the taste card we used. The pub is listed as a taste card partner but then they got all funny when we wanted to use it!?
T. J.
Great , friendly atmosphere with lovely pub grub on sale. Well recommended..👍
K. R.
Always a good meal
And bonus dog friendly
S. R.
Great food , highly recommend, definitely worth a visit 👍
J. T.
Excellent service, food and prices. 8 of us went for a family meal after karting(just a mile from here) our sons 21st, great day rounded off with their carvery.
A. M.
Lovely country pub, great service
K. B.
Good meal, nice pub. Friendly staff.
a. f.
Just returned from a lovely late afternoon drink and tapas at The Unicorn in their beautiful beer garden. Seriously yummy food and great service particularly from a lady wearing glasses with a long blonde pony tail, noone wears name badges so sorry for the description! Can't wait to return again soon 😄
M. H.
First visit since daughters wedding reception there last September, lovely.food and pleasant atmosphere
n. b.
Every area of a great pub done brilliantly
K. S.
Wonderful and well presented pub/restaurant. Prompt service overall though the staff could do with smiling a little more. Had a number of gluten free options and I had a duck pizza. Very well priced and I would say expected for the level of establishment. Will certainly go back.
S. D.
Beautiful home cooked carvery. 4 different meats as well as 3 versions of beef (rare, medium and well done). Very friendly efficient service. We were a party of 13 and got put on a converted pool table which made the dining experience cramped and uncomfortable. Everything else was excellent and great value for money.
J. W.
This is a very popular pub/family restaurant with a good menu. The lunchtime weekday menu is very good value and the food is delicious. We visited on a Saturday early afternoon after an obviously hectic lunch service and our experience on this occasion was poor. We were aware that there would be a wait for our food, so that was fine. However, after 45 minutes our food was brought out from the kitchen and the hanging kebab was dropped on the floor. It was returned to the kitchen along with my pizza. 5 minutes later it was served to us and we will never be convinced that it wasn't just re assembled and re heated, especially as there was obvious damage to some of the chicken.
K. T.
Lovely food, good service, great value for money. Decor and atmosphere were super. Pie and pudding night - steak and stout pie was really tasty with hand cooked chips. All the portions were generous. We were allowed to swap things we didn't like and the price was amazing. £140 for 8 of us for 2 course meal with drinks. Would definitely recommend and go again.
C. B.
We was a party of 3 adults and I child. This pub has gone through a major refurbishment both inside and out. The service is a little slow but the quality of the food makes up for that. You can even see your food being cooked in the open plan kitchen. There's a reasonable selection of wines and ales. Recommended
R. A.
Really good pub serving excellent food. The pizzas were huge, so don't have a starter unless you're absolutely ravenous!!!
c. e.
Lovy food and lovely friendly staff.
M. R.
Great pub. Clean and tidy.
I. S.
Great pub, amazing outdoor area, including chill out space and kids playing area separately. Loved the Sunday carvery! Great selection of meats, really good sides (Yorkshire pudding, delphnouise potatoes, leeks, home made gravy and selection of sauces and other sides). Massive portions for £12 one course - bargain!
M. D.
Best steak I have eaten. Good service and a lovely country pub.
J. R.
Lovely food, go here quite regularly. Service was a bit slow tonight, had to remind them I'd ordered a drink. Don't seem to have enough staff on to provide level of service expected.
S. W.
Good service but the food quality was below par for the price. For example...half a strawberry with the Eaton mess, really?
L. M.
Cannot fault this place. Travelled 45 mins to get here and will definitely be returning. Gorgeous food. Brilliant prices for the meals. Outside area for families is brilliant and safe. The little farm shop inside was appealing. Looking forward to our next visit
K. B.
Pub is comfortable and staff friendly. Food no more than average and an almost one hour wait between starter and main course is not acceptable. We were a party of 16 but had prebooked all our meals so there is no excuse for such slow service. They do get the prize for the world's smallest Christmas pudding though!
T. (.
We just came across this great place when having a drive round.wow what a find !! SATURDAY early evening lots of eaters in .buisey. but w were greeted fantastically. All the staff ,and I mean all are a credit to them.the food was average price but exceptional quality, the best steak pie in a pub I have ever had. I can't praise the staff enough. What a great experience. Thank you
S. C.
We went on a Sunday and it was busy. You need to book. The carvery was superb. Meat cooked to perfection. Attractively decorated pub with a great outside area and kids play park area with bouncy castle. Very friendly staff.
g. c.
Slow service tbh, not enough staff to cope with the level of trade. My food tasted good (the frozen mash potatoes were uninspiring) portions were on the small side on some dishes. Not sure about a revisit, drinks not particularly good value either.
B. M.
Nice pub . But squashed in as tables very close together. Starters was amazing but was let down by burnt pizza and slow service, staff could of been more welcoming. I would be willing to try the experience again.
L. S.
Nice surroundings. Meal which was a carvery not very good. One the first customers of the lunch time menu on a Sunday. Beef very rare ok if you like it that way. Lamb fatty. Turkey ok. My husband tied the lamb and beef...didn't eat any of it. Vegetables not particularly warm either. So we left quite a lot of our meals.
Dessert skant portion considering price.
Gave us come again vouchers will definately not be using them.
D. B.
Great location, exceptional food and good service. Well worth a visit if in the area or come to the area to give it a try!
P. L.
A nice pub with a warm feeling, will go back.. ✅
A. W.
Lovely food, good portions. Friendly staff
b. h.
Nice looking place let down by poor service. The plates were coming at at different times rather than all at once so some people were left waiting . Also, on our crunchie cheesecake, some people had fruit with theirs, others didn't so there was no consistency. venison Spaghetti was bland and in need of seasoning, though everyone who had the pie agreed it was great. Despite bad serving, waiter did happily bring alternate plates and cutlery for children when asked
J. O.
Nice friendly pub, with a 'bit more than I would normally pay' menu. Portion a bit small but we'll cooked and presented.
Nice to visit if you've been on a skydive at Langar airfield x
J. B.
We went for a birthday meal as a party of 13, the pub was very busy and you could see the staff under a little bit of strain but nothing to stop us enjoying a lovely meal. We all had carvery which was tasty and half of us had puddings I would highly recommend the sticky toffee pudding 😁
P. S.
Visit for a Sunday lunchtime and it seems to have gone downmarket since my last visit. But it was very busy with families from Cotgrave so not the place for a quiet romantic couple. Plentiful food at the carvery. Maybe different at other times.
M. C.
We had the deli hot sandwiches. Really tasty and a good portion size. The pub is lovely with some different areas to it.
The only thing I would change is the cheesey music playing in the bar area.
m. e.
(Group of 5 adults and 3 children). Food ok, although my pizza was almost devoid of cheese, but had to wait 60 mins+ for food after orfering as they only had one pizza oven working apparently. If we'd known in advance we wouldn't have ordered so many pizzas... Apart from that the waitresses were really good and helpful.
J. O.
Pub - 5/5 - lovely pub in quaint village / country setting.
Staff - 4/5 - pleasant enough
Food - 4/5 - carvery very nice but beef was fatty. Turkey was lovely.
Price - good value.
J. H.
Lovely food, good drinks, friendly staff. All in all a great place, will definitely be back!
R. J.
Having been many times to car club meeting and never eaten at Unicorns head. My partner and I decided to have lunch there we invited my sister along, we all eat lunch the food was very good and the restaurant was very comfortable and well was very surprised at the lowest cost of food and drink. With plenty of free parking disabled parking and access. All round a very good lunch out.
G. T.
Great food beer wasn't that great
R. B.
Lovely location, staff are very friendly. Can't wait to try the food it looks great.
N. H.
Such a nice pub. We stumbled upon this pub after a tiring day at Go Karting just down the road. It was on the 1st May bank holiday and the weather was glorious. There was a singer outside and the food was delicious. It's a shame it's too far away from my house. I'd be down here all the time.
D. W.
I visited yesterday 4th of Novenber. I phoned and booked late, but they went out of there way to fit me in. We all had the Cavary which was amazing. The only issue was carrying the plate back to the table because it had so much food on it! If you haven't been on a sunday make sure you go! Brilliant!!
A. R.
Excellent carvery as well as food on the menu. The service however is a bit hit and miss, always friendly but often slow and disorganised. The Unicorn's Head is always busy so I would recommend booking in advance.
D. M.
Amazing food and price ! Would recommend to anyone! And our server (lady with an accent)was absolutely lovely couldnt have done more for us!
J. A.
Excellent as always. Friendly service, good food, and with £20 off we treated ourselves to the fillet steak, which was brilliant!
A. g.
Nice pub with a good selection of beers and food.
The only problem with had was a very slow service.
J. J.
Lovely pub and great staff however didn't have much of a vegetarian menu left when I went. however they did let me choose an option which wasn't usually in the deal without being prompted to do so so very happy with that.
a. k.
Lovely Sunday dinner
B. R.
Friendly helpful staff. Visited by chance well worth it. Food reasonable and reasonably priced
C. P.
The cauliflower 'chicken' was really tasty. Wish they had more diet drinks though.
M. J.
Was a warm sunny evening so I it was great to eat al fresco in a well laid out dining area. Service a little lacking no interaction food was well presented with a wide range of choice.
S. B.
Love the menu the food is great when it arrives and it's a really lovely pub only thing that let's this place down is the service is slow, staff are friendly but could be more attentive it wasn't very busy at all and it's not the first time service has been like this.
G. L.
Lovely friendly staff. Great buzzing atmosphere with a good range of food and wine but a very strange smell from outside (which I imagine is nothing to do with the pub)
C. F.
Lovely 70th birthday party in a private marquee.
Barbecue food was excellent.
M. N.
Great village pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Good menu and drinks selection. Would recommend.
c. b.
Good choice of food but the staff could do with some customer service training. Would probably go elsewhere next time rather than spend my money where the staff appear so miserable.
R. M.
Excellent food in great surroundings. Staff are also very good.
J. D.
OK place. High $$

Nice afternoon having a few drinks mid walk. Only serving pizzas though as some problem in the kitchen. Always some problem it seems there. Staff nice though and good drinks service. 😁🚶🍹🍸🥃🥂🍺
G. G.
Food excellent. Eclectic attempt at country casual decor is a little bit busy and cluttered which makes the venue seem smaller when it full.
S.
Great carvery but we were waiting for ages and as a table of two were in a very busy awkward seat. The food was fantastic though
J. B.
Blown away by the quality of the food. Table Service was brill as well. Probably our new favourite local(ish) place to eat :)

Thursday night Pizza 2 4 1. Awesome and great value. Loved the skinny fries
Y. T.
Great pizza but service could be a bit spotty. We had great service from some but not great from others. Probably worth it for the pizza though, which was crispy and New York style.
j. b.
Had Sunday lunch, staff were friendly, food was carvery and below average. Popular place with a nice play area for kids.
