Fish and chips smelled and tasted great. The menu was super varied too.

R. L.Visited this place whilst in the area and did not know what to expect.
On entering the pub, it displayed the Cask Marque which for me tells me this place knows how to keep it's beer. An excellent choice of 4 ales were on offer. 2 of which were local.
A large menu of home cooked food was available with a number of specials. The food came in large portions so you definitely won't leave this place hungry yet the quality was high. A children's menu was also available which included an ice cream. Home made chips are worth a mention. All more than fairly priced.
The interior was classic pub and this was complimented by a large beer garden with roaming chickens. Plenty of parking available too.
The staff were very friendly, making us feel welcome which added to an overall great Saturday lunch.

d. B.A lovely village pub. The food and service is excellent with a good selection. It certainly doesnt feel like one of the big chain pubs. The White Lion has charisma and charm.( It doesn't get a 5 star purely for a personal dislike of having background music ) You will not be disappointed with a visit to this lovely venue.
S. C.Been here a couple of times and been highly satisfied with the food. I had from the smaller meal menu and found it to be very good. It was larger than many other places serve for those with a smaller appetite. A friend had the steak from the standard menu and was delighted with it being cooked just how he wanted it. Neither time have any of us tried the sweets as we've not had room for them. Coffee is very good.
It is recommended that you book a table as this is a small community pub which has a good reputation, so is frequently busy. You can wait for up to about half an hour after ordering, but everything is freshly cooked and well worth the wait

S. B.Lovely traditional pub. Friendly and helpful staff. Good range of beers and if you're hungry they have a well price menu that should satisfy most tastes. They even do nice pork pies. Beer garden to the rear. If you like these types of pubs I would recommend you give it a try.

M. O.I had a nice rib-eye steak with peppercorn sauce. My wife had a cheese, tomato and broccoli bake. Her cousin had fish and chips. All substantial and good home cooking. I had a pint of the beer made with the hops from their own garden. You can't get any more local than that.

I live fairly far afield (Risley) but it's worth the drive for food and a pint. Plus it happens to land on my bus route (i4) should I fancy a few relaxing REAL ales. The beer is well kept and again priced to suit my expectations. Well worth a look in....even the locals are welcoming and friendly. This place is steadily turning into my local of choice. A+++

J. A.Simply lovleh! Went in with my buddy and my pup. Had a great pint of real ale and lovely roast beef, home cooked, Sunday lunch that comes with complimentary soup. The staff were great and even kept coming out with bits of meat for my English Springer. Highly recommended, and for a very reasonable price.

The menu selection is extensive but most of the times I end up having one of the specials displayed above the bat. While there isn't any craft 🍺 served here, there are some nice real ales along with the standard brewery stuff.

J. K.Look, this is a pub. A real British pub. You're not going to. Get a beer and a burger for 4p. You will get a home cooked roast gammon baguette in under 10 minutes though. The food is honest, so is the beer and the people. Great beer garden, plenty of parking, not many tables inside though.

W.Went to The White Lion public house in Bramcote Notts today for a family lunch, we had booked for 6 to eat inside the pub but at the last minute, another member of the family said that they could join us if that was ok, phoned to alter the number of diners and although we now exceeded the legal number that could sit inside on one table, the management and staff went out of their way to provide a table for 7 in the garden marquee, the service was very good and efficient, drinks arrived and time was allowed to choose from an excellent luncheon menu which catered for all tastes and several dietary irregularities, one of our party is celiac and like the rest of us, really enjoyed the food provided, everything was cooked to perfection and presented very attentively, so to sum up - lovely surroundings, well kept cellar, wonderful variety of food, reasonably priced and well worth a visit, like us, I am sure you will return, thank you The White Lion, also well named as The Top House.

The top half is dog friendly, and they have a decent beer garden, so a great place to go for lunch after a walk in the park with the dogs, whether it is raining or not.
