We were seated immediately upon walking through the door. The food was fresh, the plates were nice and clean and the food & drinks sections were well stocked the entire time. The staff were friendly and it was overall a good visit.

Turned up on a Sunday afternoon without booking and it was very busy, the staff managed to fit us in within 15 minutes. Bar staff, waitresses, chefs and hosts were extremely friendly. The carvery was the best we’ve had for a long time! The lamb, turkey and gammon Were excellent and the roast potatoes were cooked to perfection. Well done all 5 ⭐️
J. L.
A great carvery for a meet up with friends and family. The food is great and good portions. In terms of covid precautions all very good and tables placed a good space apart. Customer service is excellent - our waiter was really friendly and nice. Will definitely be coming back 🤩

I really like a Toby Carvery, everything just tastes better than most other buffet type restaurants in my opinion. I mostly order a Yorkshire pudding wrap, more often than not the hunters gammon and turkey, it comes with roast potatoes and gravy, for five quid, it's fantastic. I highly recommend a visit.

Food was lovely! Unfortunately we were initially refused entry as they weren't taking walk-ins due to staff shortages. Had a word with the manager Leigham as had an 11 month old, it was late and wanted him to be fed so he kindly allowed us entry. Surprisingly a couple who entered 10 minutes after us as a walk-in weren't refused and seated. Was a little confused but the food was amazing so deserve the 3 stars!

All went smooth & fine. Easy access, lots of parking, quick and polite service from the waitress & from the chef. Attentive staff. Hot veggies & moist meat was a very positive suprise as usually in the carveries veggies are barely warm and meat is dry and unpleasant.

After walking around Nottingham Uni for the Offer Holders Day, we decided to pop in for a carvery and so glad we did. The food was absolutely delicious and staff very welcoming, highly recommend having a meal there. Thank you.

Nice staff and good food options. Everything I would want from a roast. As a veggie they had good options. Had the toad in the hole which is great… when they have it. I’ve been a few times and most of the time they havnt had it and I’ve been ‘forced’ to have a meat-free carvery which can be boring. Good prices and a good location
J. B.
The food was lovely. My grandson who is a fussy eater at 6 yr old cleared his plate & said it was absolutely lovely. The only thing I didn't like was the beef I found not cooked enough. But that's my preference. Not everyone's.
R. B.
The waitress was extremely rude, the chef cutting the meat was quite condescending as I only wanted a small plate. His direct approach was out of order and was like I didn’t know what I wanted. Everything we asked from the first waitress seemed like too much trouble. There was lack of choice of vegetables to choose from only peas, carrots and cauliflower cheese was on offer.

Nice food , comfortable surroundings, reasonably priced but has seemed short staffed and chaotic with for as long as we can remember now . Always have to wait ages for tables to be cleaned for example, to be seated even when booked weeks in advance and after arriving early for our booking time . Waiting staff few and far between so huge wait to either ask them anything or pay the bill and leave . They really need to up their game and get back to the standard they were a year or so ago . They are spoken of in the area with alot less positivity than they used to be and its a shame .
K. H.
Came for lunch at Colwick Park. Holly was lovely, friendly and helpful. Russell serving the carvery was also really friendly to everyone who went up.for food. A really nice atmosphere due to staff all seeming happy
S. W.
We go regularly and never have any issues, we request a quiet table each time as go due to a guest with social anxiety and being overwhelmed with too many people and music etc and the restaurant always accommodate us. More recently we went Wednesday 25th May 2022 at 7:30pm and was shown to a table in the main body of thr restaurant (even though the booking requested a quiet table) upon sitting it was decided the table was too busy and too noisy being directly under a speaker playing what can only be described as rave music so we requested a quieter table if possible and was assured by a lovely lady who explained the bar might be more suitable. Sure enough, no issues and amazing customer service.
The food? Look, it's a toby carvery, it's never going to be Michelin star quality food but it's never been bad either. If you want good food, quickly, at a reasonable price then Toby can't be beaten
Overall, we keep going for a reason and whilst the staff do their best to accommodate our needs and the food is good we will keep coming back
Good job folks
Keep it up :)

Would have given it 5 stars but even though I don't eat slowly it wasn't very warm and became cold before I'd finished. Have to say Pork and Beef was lovely, so tender .
J. b.
Food seems to have improved. Staff very efficient and polite. Would recommend to try. Can be a bit hit and miss
P. H.
The food was ok buy NO BREAKFAST GRAVY!! I went there with my husband for an all you can eat breakfast and my husband wanted just egg on toast as he has type 2 diabetes he was told that he couldn't have that he would have to pay the price of an all you can eat for £5.95 he had to sit there with nothing to eat maybe you should change your policy and consider people with medical conditions
C. W.
Place was very busy and disorganised, we had booked a table for 4 adults and 4 children and were kept waiting for almost 40 minutes in the foyer when we got there as the table that they had allocated to us had not yet been vacated. Eventually, we had to take it upon ourselves to sit at one of the empty tables as the children were becoming restless. Unsure as to why the staff couldn't have just seated us at that table in the first place.
U. P.
Meal was good .but unexpected price rise for jubilee day.from £7.99 to £11.99 each for carvery.not Dvertised on website or confirmation email .ok because I could afford it but to someone on a budget this could of been a problem
J. W.
Food was OK. I was very impressed with the generous portion for sunday dinner however, the food was very seasoned and was not marinated before cooking. The gammon was nice, but the turkey and pork were very tasteless. Staff were really nice and had us seated quickly. The line for the rood was also not that long. (Sunday 1pm). Roasted potatoes were very dry. Not very impressed. Stuffing was void of taste. Peas and veg were very crunchy and satisfactory. Probably will not come again for a Sunday dinner. Maybe for breakfast.

Went here a few weeks ago now, completely forgot to leave a review at the time but amazing service from everyone, really nice feel inside and good food.
A. W.
Very very slow service even though there was very few guests. We wanted starters and sweets but found it hard to get the waitresses attention to make our orders.
A. M.
Lovely carvery and great sit down meal with the family. Staff are friendly and are always available to help.
M. D.
A very nice cosy environment to eat, drink and socialise in a family-friendly environment for a good price. Facilities are clean and well kept and with the renovation, the plating are has a contemporary feel that is open and doesn’t impose on the old feel. The breakfast is so underrated- must have!
S. T.
Only went for breakfast, and for the price it was great. Decent buffet (£4.69 + £2 for a hot drink (unlimited refills). The breakfast Yorkshire pudding with red onion and bacon are lovely.
S. V.
Absolutely fantastic. Delicious carvery, especially good value for money if you go mid week.
C. H.
In general, the place could do with a spruce up. The meals from the Carvery were hot and plentiful. Drinks, average price for the area, and the staff, very attentive and well mannered ,a nice place to eat.
S. L.
The food was lovely and hot.
Staff were very helpful and friendly.
K. W.
Had the carvery, very nice. Dog friendly pub. Helpful and friendly staff.
D. C.
Unlimited breakfast and coffee. Only issue is that we arrived after 10.30 and only got one cup of coffee as they removed the coffee pots at 11.00. Otherwise very good value and food
J. C.
Had a carvery king size had about 3 slices of turkey and wasn’t as much as the other toby’s I’ve visited Yorkshire’s were small (like they were bought from Poundland) however roasts and veg plus gravy was up to the usual standard and also the staff were very friendly even though unfortunately i arrived slightly late due to the storm but i feel 4 stars is reasonable for my experience and would definitely visit again if in the area
P. M.
Never had a problem here, took my eldest girl for all you can eat breakfast to prepare for busy day together. We loved it the staff are really friendly and seem more than happy to help they compliment the manager who comes across as being bothered that all customers/guests enjoy their experience ....definitely will be going back.
Yes we went back for another breakfast 30 May we and brought Mummy this time, different staff but still a nice standard of service... I recommend this place again and we'll worth bottomless soft drink refills..Mummy was well impressed with the sausages well tasty.
J. M.
Okay for the cost, half price meals that day but disappointed to experience young single mum and toddler turned away because she hadn't booked in advance. Wished later that I'd intervened and given her my booking!
S. M.
Very busy place, found staff friendly and helpful and the food was not bad rather. Will go there again with my family for sure. I recommend personaly
J. L.
Standard Toby carvery. Know what you are getting at a Toby carvery, can't complain at it. Service is good too and all is relatively cheap. Carvers have good banter too which is a nice change. Absolutely love that you can pay on the app. As I say the staff are lovely but saves waiting or them having to fetch the card machine etc. Also very easy to split the bill on the app.
2.
Always a nice experience here, The Management do their best to delight their customers.
Nice selection of drinks and an all round positive experience.
J. F.
My friend wanted veggie sausages. Unfortunately they were rock hard. Rest of the food was nice. But felt sorry for my Friend.
W. K.
No white bread for toast and more importantly there was no brown sauce. Great place to eat though. The only actual negative was the member of staff at the bar, she was very abrupt and wasn't welcoming at all.
T. W.
Despite being very busy (easter sunday) service was prompt and polite, food was tasty and well worth the money
T. M.
Excellent service with a good value me. I have the staff very friendly and helpful. A nice place to take a family for a good value and quality meal. Atmosphere very warm and welcome. Best to book as we did to secure a table as it get full very quickly. Puddings are very good and weakness. Profiteroles melted in your mouth.
A. J.
Great value for money. We went without a reservation and were sat earlier than expected. Great food, the only thing I would say is more cheese in the cauliflower cheese. As you can't taste any! 😁
A. H.
Good food and friendly staff, however the clientele were rude and got into an argument with us. Threatened to bottle us in the car park, luckily they didn’t
W. A.
Really great food and service staff are very friendly
R. M.
Having been away awhile our daughter suggested we meet up at the Toby. We had a well cooked dinner with everything tasting first class. I even enjoyed the sprouts.
Great catch up, great food, thank you
P. D.
Not too bad at all. Only stopped for drink, but nice atmosphere
C. S.
Quite nice place, large car park, foods great and staff lovely so all good

I visited at 12.15pm Monday 3rd October alone.
I chose this time because I wanted the food to be fresh and hot. The food was excellent and well cooked and presented. The beef was so tender and tasty. The servers staff were very friendly and obviously enjoying their work. I was met at the servers by a wonderful lady server who carried the food to my table and then brought my drinky. So a perfect start. Unfortunately the food was hardly warm which spoiled my visit. I should have pointed my experience to a member of staff but they We will were all busy and did not wish to embarrass them. I will call again but please I. would like my food hot from the servers deck.
L. M.
I do like this place but so many times I've been there their carvery is just warm.It would be nice hot.
S. S.
I love a Toby Carvery meal & today was one of the best.
Just a shame that the vegetable station wasnt kept clean & tidy , with food all over the floorr especially for myself with a walking stick
A. J.
Lovely carvery meal at Toby carvery Nottingham, 50%off as well bargain.
Food was hot and tasty, staff were friendly and helpful 😋
G. C.
Lovely food friendly staff gave 4 star as food wasnt very hot
T. B.
Staff need not to be chatting about other staff in front of there customers, it was quite off putting
H. G.
Really good place to have tasty food. Loved the Turkey that I had
D. S.
Never disappoints!!! Only when I found out they stopped serving lamb 😭

A. M.
not a great selection of veg and the small cuts of meat i was given just made it feel like it just wasn't worth it
M. W.
Easy informal relaxing place to eat, help yourself to as much caravery as you can eat for a set price
c. t.
Amazing food , happy friendly staff . Homely atmosphere.
D. W.
Two of us had a table booked for 7pm on a Thursday. We are older, in our 60s so we're a bit concerned about crowds. This was our first meal out for more than a couple of years, I was more nervous. We were given alternative seating as I felt our table was in a busy area and inadaquately ventilated. where we moved too was much less occupied plus we asked for windows to be opened, duly done, much to the amusement of 2 other tabled customers...... Manager was very helpful and was happy to accommodate me. About 20% of people wore masks in between eating. Food was tasty, fresh and plentiful. 1 star missing, whilst we were there, no staff wearing masks whilst serving or talking to us. I know it's now optional there but staff who talked to us were closer than was necessary.
I would go again but will take managers advice and ask for a table near to open windows or eat outside weather permitting.
C. D.
Food was very nice, piping hot and fresh. Great customer service with very welcoming smiles, the chef especially was very welcoming and had a lovely personality to match. The establishment was mixed with very young and old customers and there was a very welcoming feel to the place. Would definitely recommend this to everyone
M. I.
Went for breakfast, was not as good as it normally is, everything was a little over cooked or under cooked (bacon not crispy).
C. C.
Amazing choice of food and it was all cooked to perfection! Love it !
C. P.
Waitress was very cheerful and helpful went to pay at bar the young man there was very rude
E. H.
Service good but food not very hot and meat rather dry. Typical carvery restaurant, nothing special.
T. M.
A great place for a carvery. There's something for everyone.
S. M.
Staff very friendly and food was good. No complaints at all. Thank you
C. A.
The staff were excellent they were very helpful the food was amazing definitely come again 😀 😋
R. M.
We were pleased with the whole carvery experience. It is worth booking ahead, although we managed to secure a table for two 4 hours before our dinner. There was a huge variety of meat (turkey, beef, pork, lamb) and the ruffled roastories were delecious. The staff were speedy and professional.
R. H.
Good grub for any day of the week, nicely poured pints to go along with it too. The staff are great (Especially Jack) and the place is kept clean.
L. C.
Hadn't been for a while - enjoyed our meal. Friendly staff
J. C.
Lovely meal as every Sunday is for Mum Bryan and Me. Cant really fault it
g. m.
Great food and great price , I was stuffed at end lol
B. B.
Good value for money although several items off the menu on our last visit
d. m.
Was made very welcome, very helpful staff and food is very nice and filling.
J. D.
Traditional carvery, everything was as expected. There was a choice of four meats today, all cooked to perfection. I don't know how the staff put up with rude people like the ones who were in front of me. Complaining because it wasn't a fresh bowl of mashed potatoes and then asking for a pasta bowl with no manners whatsoever. I'll bet there's negative feedback on social media when there is no reason for it. I will be going back.
J. B.
The only place I really missed in lockdown. The staff are ran off their feet but still manage to keep everyone happy. You still go up and pick everything you want; but the chef plated it up for you then the waitress did the sauce and carried it to your table for you. To be honest I don't see the issue with carrying your own plate to the table as its less hands touching the plate and saves the waitress that extra job. Lovely meal as always. Well done to the staff (they really are working twice as hard)
A.
Good food. Great price.
D. F.
Good food but like most things prices have shot up 🥺
J. E.
Lovely little place and with Colwick Park round the corner makes a lovely Sunday family day. We walked in and the staff made us feel so welcome they even made a fuss over our new born which was lovely, they managed to fit us in which was nice especially because we had the pram in toe, so I would book if you don't want to be disappointed. The guys on the carvery where great, friendly, like a laugh it was nice to see and the food was bang on, I would go for the King size get all the meat plus sausages all you got to say to the loveable chaps "full monty" and they will sort it out...
L. V.
Firendly place to go and you can eat as much as you like
D.
Splendid feed in a cosy friendly place. Staff are lovely. You do not leave here hungry!
T. H. F.
Manager was great! Can't remember his name, but he was a well build young man. Was super friendly and it was one of the best service I have recieved for a long time. I hope all the staff and other mangers take hia lead. Thank you. Hopefully when we return he will be there again. 😊
Y. J.
very Stingy with the meat but the food was okay not sure I would go back though.
C. M.
Lovely food, staff nice and helpful. Would absolutely recommend.
m. s.
Not bad for the price 7.99 as of October 21 ...Pay extra 1.99 extra large plate extra meat and a sausage.... 9.99 deal includes standard plate plus a pudding.... They had no sprouts😂 ..All good for the price
G.
First time at a Toby. Lovely staff, good food at good prices.
Cooks seemed under staffed and under a lot of pressure. Perhaps management could have a look into this.
S. B.
Friendly staff, great food on carvery 👍
A. A. (.
Lovely tasty food which was served quickly. Staff very welcoming and friendly! Will be coming back here again!
L. F.
A pleasant evening always good staff made to feel very welcome food always good

C. W.
Lovely mid week carvery hit the spot
L. H.
Excellent Sunday lunch wide range of meat and veg. Staff very welcoming. No waiting. Would recommed it to anyone. Well done.
P. R.
Always a good meal and reasonable prices. A pity there were no Yorkshire puddings.
E. L.
Enjoyable food seating was abit awkward. Abit slow st reception. Plates took time to be collected once eaten.
H. H.
Great food and great service from staff. Nice decor and nice friendly staff.
B.
Very nice, usual good standard from Toby Carvery!
P. S.
Very nice food and the staff are friendly 😁
O. L.
Great as always! Quick service and a lovely roast. Been going here for years, can't recommend enough.
B. S.
Very friendly. Food was lovely. Would recommend.
B. C.
Good breakfast I've been to all other breakfast places in Nottingham area this one is best value for money so far.
A. W.
Visited today, busy for a Sunday but that was expected. Good portion of meat, only disappointment of not being able to serve your own roasties and veg. Always had a set way of building my plate to keep the Yorkshire and roasties crisp. I understand the reasoning behind it and hopefully it will go back to normal soon. Could we not be provided with a single plastic glove so we could serve our selves? In all and all a ok visit.
D. s.
Great place. Fantastic food with amazing staff.
T. B.
I’ve just had a roast dinner delivered from toby carvery. It was the very best I have tasted, it was piping hot and everything on it 10/10 I have had a few before from different places but this tops all of them by far. Thank you 😀👍
K. D.
Went for breakfast. Coffee machine was broken, yorkshire puddings on menue but no gravey?toaster was a case of put it threw once and its still white, put it through twice and its burnt.Had better Toby breakfasts.
M. t. S.
Beef was tough and the prices have gone up so much
E. A.
The food was excellent,
Complement to the chef 👌
p. d.
Always enjoy the food here, so thought I would pop in today, pretty much empty, so I thought great only to be shown a table within 3 foot of another customer, infact all customers were all stuffed in one end of the pub. Not a good idea during this pandemic Or has working for the NHS made me paranoid 🤔
S. L.
Its great that when one orders the vegetarian/vegan "meatless carvery," its cheaper and one gets a larger plate. I don't know of many other businesses who give vegetarians such a good service and incentive, though the price depends on which day you turn up.
The actual quality of the food is good.
Oh, and the portion sizes. They are great. Unlimited vegetables for a greedy sod, like me.
Vegetarian breakfast options are good, especially that one may request vegetarian sausages but there is no price difference compared to non vegetarian breakfast. Vegan options for breakfast are rather restrictive.
Drinks are fairly reasonable priced as well as desserts, again a fair selection of vegan options and many vegetarian options.
Decor here is rather nice, not too crowded, decent space between tables, etc. Ground facilities for disabled customers.
Free parking.
Staff are rather pleasant: I have not had any issues, rather I find some of them them to be willing to go out of their way to provide a good customer experience.
My one irritant is that there is not always someone behind the counter at the cavery to serve or, in my case to simply provide plates. I've often had to seek out a staff member to get someone to come out.
T. M.
The food was lovely, first time we have been back since the pandemic , we will definitely be going again. Friendly staff too
E. M.
Very friendly and welcoming. Good value for money.
M. M.
Visited here this week with my son who is studying at trent University.
He misses his Sunday roast so we both had a carvery ( on Tuesday) it was very well cooked & the staff were all friendly and professional
d. b.
Clean,& tidy,. Staff very welcoming, we have a carvery, only thing for me were the roast potatoes, they were not very hot, but I would go again
J. F.
Lovely food, good choice of meat and veggies .ginormous yorkies and great service
j. w.
Granddaughters 4th birthday lovely night great food as usual 😋
N. H.
Went for lunch with my sister would highly recommend going
J. o.
We were greeted by a friendly lady who took us to our table. Food was fabulous can't praise the staff enough. Strict covid measures in place and adhered to throughout our visit. Bravo 👏
R. W.
Amanda amazing friendly happy lady. A pleasure. But our previous visits to support your carvery were that our gravy sauces etc were served separately which was acceptable However today the gravy and mint sauce was just tipped on to the plate covering immensely ALL meats plus not being able to visualise exactly what you had on your plate. Just a mountain of very not very pleasant food. Amanda was very pleasant though. Thank you. But very disappointed.
s. o.
At moment have to book a slot but with there free app no problems at all and it covers all Toby places so if travelling it will tell you were and when great. Foods good and service great at least at Colwick which I go to often.
c. l.
Lovely food great price, friendly happy service from the staff
D. V.
Had a lovely meal with family. Food was delicious. Had lamb, which was beautifully tender. Our waitress was attentive and helpful, even talking to my 5 month old Grandson as she cleaning the table next door! Only trouble was how hot the place was! We had 2 windows near our table and neither could be opened, but apart from that, we had a lovely evening. Thank you.
A. V.
Amazing food and cheap £3.50 for pint
D. L.
Friendly staff and a nice clean pub
J. H.
Nice food chilled atmosphere good night
K. T.
Food was great but the service was really slow. Don't understand someone having to carry your food to your table from the carvery. Especially when they haven't washed or sanitised their hands between clearing tables and serving others.... Bizarre and not covid friendly?!
G. R.
I had great time here and everything was spot on
D. N.
Friendly staff, good service, excellent choice of food, nice atmosphere
A. K.
Lovely family meal, really Covid safe how they serve you now. Definitely recommend , biggest Yorkshire Pudding I've ever had!!
P. S.
Nice food(breakfast) all items hot, hash browns seemed undercooked and fried eggs looked terrible, overall good food. Will definitely return 🙃
N. C.
Great customer service, food was lovely.
E. F.
Sometimes the food is great then other times its cold and dry very hit and miss. This morning I had breakfast which was lovely
r. s.
Great food and great service, walked straight in and was seated in a nice quiet area.
C. A.
First time there, awesome service, great food! Will go again
J. W.
Great carvery meats and veg, all plated up for you by their chef in as much quantity as if you had done it yourself, but with Covid advice in mind. Perhaps taking and wearing a mask would be advisable as social distancing in the queue to be served was not as strict as it could have been. But tables, entry/exit were adequately spaced to feel safe.
P. H.
Brilliant the staff friendly and the food is great
J. L.
We popped in on the off chance last Thursday after visiting the country park. Haven't been for a while but this is only because it gets so busy as it is so popular. The restaurant was full but myself and the kids had a lovely seat in the bar which was great. Tasteful decor, good service at the bar, food was fabulous and served by a warm, friendly lady chef for whom nothing was too much trouble. Meats amazing, veg fresh and great selection and loved the cranberry gravy!! Very yummy and the boys wolfed it down too. We would have stopped for pudding but were on limited time. Only suggestion would be to move the location of the self serve soft drinks machine as it was very awkward for customers and staff alike as in a main walk through area for those with full plates and glasses of pop. As a mum I can see a disaster waiting to happen, especially when at full capacity with more kids about. Sorry but my only negative. We will be back.
M. L.
Great food at a competitive price, good value for money, friendly efficient, polite and quick staff, the carvery is to die for have been many times and will return in the future.
M. B.
Had a lovely meal and the staff were lovely too
m. s.
Good carvery very nice gravy, friendly staff
P. S.
This is a passable place to eat a roast dinner although the standard of taste especially the vegetables seems to have declined over the past 2/3 years. The roasts themselves are fine and portions are generous but although there is a good choice of vegetables they seem to lack flavour. The prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and helpful.
M. S.
Very quick service for food and drink
K. Y.
Staff were very friendly and very helpful, atmosphere was comfortable, decor pleasant, overall cleanliness adequate. Food was generally good, freshly made (we had the carvery), good selection of meats and veggies. Beef was a little fatty for our taste but was nicely cooked. Will definitely visit again.
C. W.
Plenty of decent food for a reasonable price.
D. S.
Love this place good food friendly staff
J. T.
Unbeatable value. Get there early and you will have all the produce freshly cooked. Bacon is always a bit well done as are the eggs. But for £4.89 you generally cannot go wrong. They even allow you to take your own drink which is good! rather than spending more than half the breakfast price on a cup of tea...
A. V.
Don't go out for food very often but have to say with the pandemic we had amazing service, the waitress, India, was outstanding 👏 Xx
D. H.
Decent offers and decent food. Kids love it. Nice staff too
S. W. J.
Carvery: Good, some of my mash potato I felt was raw
Pepsi: Excellent, the Pepsi was a joy to drink.
Desert's: Excellent, Loved my Chocolate Sponge.
Toilets: Good, the toilets did not smell clean but they were clean.
Cleanliness: Good, the place was fairly clean.
Service: Good, Staff were friendly.
Central Heating: Poor, I had to wear my coat. All the radiators were cold, the heating was the biggest let down of it all.
L.
Went here a few weeks ago and I'm genuinely thrilled with this place. Food is always prepared hot and fresh (which is of the utmost importance) and the waiters are so friendly and heartfelt towards customers. I usually get the carvery and you get to choose whichever meat you want and they cut it for you right at the table. Would recommend giving it a visit, although would book in advance as it's usually quite busy at peak times.
E. B.
Absolutely loved it, staff was so helpful and polite and told us alot about the birds and their personality would 💯% go again
D. F.
The food here is absolutely wonderful and tasty. Always love going here. I would definitely book though especially on a Sunday. Don't go if you are on a diet lol 🤣🤣 the staff are very helpful and friendly but very busy.
X. M.
Absolutely wonderful food, so hard not to overeat. Lots of variety, all freshly cooked and replenished often. Staff behind the food counter friendly and, despite the constant heat they have to constantly deal with, in good humour. I would recommend that you book a table, especially on a Sunday, as this place is very popular and busy. Have been here several times and I have not once had a bad thought about anything there.
B. S.
Nice place, delicious meat!
P. S.
This is a very family-orientated place and provides good quality roast dinners complete with a large choice of cooked vegetables and accompaniments at very reasonable prices. There is a full breakfast menu to start the day and a full range of drinks at the bar all through the day until late evening. A good place to relax and be comfortable. The eatery is a carvery so apart from the carving of the 4 roasts your choice of anything else is your own. There is also a comprehensive vegetarian menu and plenty of desserts to choose from.

Went about 5 on a Sunday at the beginning of December and it was packed. Luckily we had booked a table. Had the carvery. Nice selection as always, however I did find the beef very gristly and tough. Everything else was OK. Staff were very polite and efficient.
O. M.
Great place to come with friends on a Sunday for a roast dinner!
Plenty of space for medium sized groups which is great.
Staff are all very friendly and the food is great.
Prices are great at the bar but normally I drive so can't take advantage!
car park is quite small but there's always been a space when I've been.
Some outside seating to take in some sun in the summer.

Had lunch today, as part of a party of 27. Nichola was our waitress, and she worked so hard to ensure we all had what we had preordered. The food was lovely, and we didn't have to wait too long, even though the restaurant was quite full. The carvery was well stocked & the lady serving the carvery was lovely. I thought the staff did really well to serve our group so well efficiently in such busy circumstances. Thank you very much.
A. S.
You won't go Away feeling hungry but fine dining it isn't. Pretty good for the price though and the meat is excellent.
K. B.
Arrived for Breakfast at 10.50am as I went to pay I asked about DDS (defence discount) as i know they accept it for the carvery but was unsure about breakfast. I was rushed by the staff member being told that there were only 10 minutes left of service. But when I had checked online prior to going, it had stated 11.30 on another site. So i paid fully and didn't press on for the discount. Once at the service point there were no beans, no bubble n squeak and no hash browns. We asked for beans and was told they were coming, I made toast and tea and sat down whilst hubby waited for anything else that may have arrived. He dam back with a small ramekin of beans for one! I then needed to take my medication but had finished my tea, went to top it up but everything had been removed! There should have been a discount for lack of available food and drink.

I really enjoyed the warm welcome, the food was wonderful, huge choice cooked great, service quick, the pub is warm, clean and has great prices. I have been twice in the last week and both times most enjoyable. We hadn't booked but no problem. Sweets looked great but I didn't have one as the meal was enough for me.
S. F.
Very nice carvery and friendly staff. The only thing that let this venue down was the total lack of air conditioning on a hot day. The windows weren't open and I couldn't get them to open where I was sitting and I was absolutely melting. Definitely not going back on a hot day, I'll save it for winter 😆
S. C.
Nice carvery lunch. Very busy at weekends much better to go early in the week. Food a bit limp and overwarmed after 2pm. Staff very nice. Nice re-vamp of decor and layout. It's a pity they didn't replace the plates and cutlery. They obviously go through an industrial dishwasher but they look stained and over used.
R. H.
Ok, it's a nice enough place and the girl who took our payment and served our drinks was nice.
But this is the second time in a couple of years I have been for the breakfast here and whilst there is a good selection and plenty of food, it is again the most tasteless breakfast I've ever had.
Sausages look great but are like eating minced lard, the bacon has virtually no flavour.
The best bit was the tinned tomatoes.
It's a shame because apart from having no flavour the breakfast is a good deal.
A. M. M. S.
A good place to have traditional Sunday roast!
Highly recommended for meat lovers 💪🏼
L. r.
Lovely meal, good service, good value for money, not much choice for vegans though.
R. L.
Friendly staff. Good food and value for money. Wouldn't say it's special but was a good place to catch up with friends with our nearly 2 year old daughter. One thing though the temperature in the building is too hot it was the same before the refurbishment. Could have sat there in shorts and a t shirt in November. To be honest this stops me from coming more regularly.
N. W.
Went here with my wife and in laws for a Saturday early night meal. Not been in since it was refurbished, so was surprised how much it was looking very smart. We all had the carvery. Well you have to at £6.99. It was very nice but they didn't have any turkey because it was still being cooked. Apart from that it was nice. Staff we're very polite and friendly. We had a pudding, served on an enormous plate it looked lost. For the price the size was very shocking, 4 spoon fulls and it was gone you could fit it all on the spoon if you tried. So beware puddings not good value, but the carvery was OK if you are a vegetarian 2 peices thinly cut. Have Toby carvery tight.??
A. K.
Had a delightful time dining at this cosy carvery. Delicious food and cheesy cauliflower cheese. ☺superb service with lovely lady marshalling me to quiet seat for one. Super meat. Really good vibrations because of excellent customer service in place. Better than crown.
K. R.
We went to visit the restaurant last week. The food was really nice, the building is cozy especially with the Christmas decor. It's worth downloading the app too, great offers on it. The chef was really nice too, he recommended the pudding which was definitely a good choice. The only downside of the visit was that we had to wait forever for everything (get seated, get the bill, get pudding etc) even tho it didn't look busy at that time. Also, the staff had an argument in the back and that's all we could hear while we were eating.
Also, if the waitress decides to get her mates in there, i think skipping the queue is a bit unfair. Anyways, could be 5 star easily, just a bit more professionalism.
A. W.
Great place for a meal and a pint food was lovely. Is it every day? Who knows it was when I went been and few times and always been nice.
K. S.
Food was good value for money. The waitress should look at her customer interaction, we had just sat down at a table but my 2 grandkids wanted to move to more relaxed seats the waitress asked me to move the cutlery with us so she did not have to lay 2 tables again!!! Both tables had cutlery wrapped in their serviettes, we had not touched anything at all.
N. P.
Never let's you down as its a Sunday roast
R. W.
Loved the all you can eat breakfast. No cereal or fruit but drinks included and quality sausages. Only negative was that the overrun staff included a member at the bar whose manner gave a bad taste. She was short in manner and couldn't have been less courteous.... Probably a bad day for her... Still, we will be back and bring work colleagues for off site day using rooms and WiFi
L. R.
Good parking, very clean, great service and food. Children made welcome. Prices very competitive.
B. P.
Our first visit and was impressed. Choice of 4 meats carvery with interesting vegetable selection. Large portion desserts. Gluten free options available. Disabled parking, access and loo plus free WiFi. Friendly effective service.
C. W.
It was really lovely. Delicious breakfast, great price and a beautiful pub.
G.
Good experience nice breakfast. Even early doors it was busy so clearly a popular place.
S. C.
Really nice dinner help urself style cheaper in the week and less busy
c. b.
Busy, but given a table for 2 with the request that we vacated within an hour as reserved for others. Which wouldn't have been a problem if there was enough staff on to wait on tables, serve drinks and replenish the carvery. All these added wait times made the eating of our meal feel rushed and we ended up finishing our drinks sat outside as our time slot had passed. Food was nice, it's clean but very hot inside and ques, plus alot of fly's.
G. P.
Lovely staff! Food is lovely. Only complaint is other menu dishes are always unavailable!
J. K.
Love the breakfast carvery excellent value for money, all lovely and fresh (loads to choose from). Feel full for the day. Not so keen on the evening carvery, food didn't seem hot enough. Perhaps went on a bad day, will give it another go!
J. M.
The meat was fatty and not how it was a year ago. Peas hard. Yorkshire pudding very greezy.
C. N.
Great restaurant, amazing food, the staff were nice, and we still got our table even though we were very late. Would recommend, will come again.
M. K.
Lovely food 5 stars
T. B.
Breakfast was very disappointing, as things ran out they weren't replaced even though it was over an hour to go until Breakfast finished.
M. T.
The food was delicious, brilliant value. Thank you.
A. B.
Was a bit of a Toby snob and wasn't really looking forward to eating here. I was wrong. My hubby and I came here with my father in law who is a bit of a regular. We ordered 3 taster bites for starters, all were great and then we had the amazing carvery. Meats were great, loads of variety of veg and everything tasted fabulous. The bill came to £30 incl drinks....I can't remember the last time we were sooo full for sooo few ££££. Will be back.
R. B.
Extremely busy on a Sunday, for good reason though, cracking roast carvery. Great selection of meats, sides and all your favourite veg. Definitely worthy of a family treat. Book online in advance to avoid having to wait for a seat in the bar area if you just show up.
E. N.
Nice carvery went on a Sunday and it was rather busy but that is to be expected. Waited around five minutes or so to get served , portions were okay but my mum who had just the normal plate they were abit tight on the meat. Veg and mash ect were lovely and drinks reasonably priced
D. P.
Visited after receiving a 50% voucher in early January.
We pre-booked which was essential, as we arrived there was a signed saying bookings only.
Food was great and offered 4 meats. When those great voucher come out pre-book else you are not getting in!
r. c.
Always come here after I done my SUP in Colwick park. Very nice and relaxing to having drink and foods here.
A. P.
Toby's is a well known chain of pubs offering carvery and other kinds of meals that appeals to a wide cross section of the British public. Experiences can vary but if you want your vegetables hot it is best to go at busy times and if going for the carvery I would recommend a joint that has been recently started so you can see what it is like before they are down to the last lukewarm scraps, though these will be given generously if quantity is important to you
Service is generally pretty good, though you might need patience when trying to access at busy times. Toby's does promote family appeal but does not often have separate family rooms so be aware of toddlers charging around when carrying hot food.
Disabled access is also usually quite good with special facilities on.the ground floor.
Overall they have a good business model that offers good value for money and usually a satisfactory experience.
S. P.
Staff were amazing, had an issue with quality of food and they stepped up and took responsibility and sorted the issue with no problems at all, can’t fault them, although think the manager need to whip the kitchen staff into place 😂😂
C. M.
Been here several times for breakfast , carvery, and just a few drinks. Food is good and reasonably priced. I'd personally not bother going on a Sunday because it annoys me paying more for pretty much what they serve every other day a few quid cheaper. Drinks aren't the cheapest, if your looking for a cheap pint cross the road to the starting gate. If your looking for a quieter more laid bk place this could be a good choice.
A. K.
Visited with friends for Sunday lunch. Fortunately we had booked a table because it was very busy. Meal was a traditional roast with several choices of meats. Vegetables were in abundance and help yourself. Queuing at the hot plate took a while as it was so busy. By the time we left people were having to wait up to 1 and 1/2 hours for a table. Downside, because it was so busy tables were crowded and too close for comfort. Value for money.
K. H.
The best Toby Carvery we know. We have breakfasted, lunched and diinnered on numerous occasions in weekdays and weekends. Good bar and helpful staff. It is very popular for families and caters for groups. Best to prebook online to avoid long waits at popular time. Get the app and get special offers and treats online.
E.
Delicious food but terrible service. Manager at welcome desk didn't even look up when we walked in, after he finally acknowledged our presence we were told we would be waiting a long time for a table and our request for a large table was denied (there was 10 of us and we asked for two tables to be put together) when there was two empty tables next to us which they told us were reserved but they remained empty throughout our meal and they still split us up then put the two empty tables together as we were leaving!
E. S.
Come here often with my family and grandma and we always love it! Food is always amazing, staff are lovely and the atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a Sunday roast. It's a family favourite!!
L. D.
Arrived at 12 noon on a Sunday, Busy but not packed,
service by Nicky was perfect, and the Carvery was Absolutely amazing, And we have Never seen Yorkshire puddings that Big.
They had a Very wide variety of meats, Potatoes, Vegetables and Gravy. Oh and a dish of crackling
(yum) 10/10. From us.
B. P.
Called here for lunch and it was great. Good selection of meats and the veggies were fresh and well cooked. Service was friendly. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit
S. L.
Good for a drink and a chat, or a family meal or even somewhere to get out the house for some grub. Always been happy with the food, apart from a night they ran out of food earlier than expected... Never mind, it can be very busy which is encouraging
D.
I usually give the Toby top marks, but it seems to be going a little downhill of late. The heat in there today was terrible, with a waitress explaining they went over budget on the refurbishment so they couldn't afford to replace all of the old air-conditioning units that were taken down. Two of our group ordered a salad that's supposed to have a dressing on, but we were advised they had no dressing! How do you let the kitchen run out in this kind of weather when more people are obviously having salads? If (& only if, as the waitress didn't know) they had mayo or salad cream, would that be OK instead?! Other issues were that the only regular veg available were peas and carrots, they didn't have one of the sauces usually available, and we had to chase up gravy as both pans were empty. Whilst catching up with my friends is always a pleasure, the dining experience fell short on this occasion, and I've been hearing similar from other people who have visited.
J. H.
meat was gorgeous, even the turkey. could do with some broccoli. it's 2021 guys
C.
Arrived for breakfast on Sunday morning at around 09:30 and this was my first outing to the Toby. We paid for breakfast (one veggie and one normal) and was told the veggie sausages would be brought to our table. 20 minutes later and breakfast consumed there were no sausages. Checked at the bar and the lady serving was very polite advising she would do a check. We were told it would be a couple of minutes but they finally arrived 15 minutes later. Eager to tuck in I found that they were rubbery and overcooked :( Very disappointing first experience.
J. D.
Heck it's cheap and LOTSA foooood.
L. C.
Was super nice. Always a good time coming here. I recommend it to anyone.
M. H.
Excellent value, good food, and friendly staff. Thursday around 1pm, pub and restaurant were not particularly busy. Good service at the bar and the carvery was reasonably priced, well presented, food was fresh and delicious! Can't fault the place, I will definitely be back!
s. p. n.
Was ok for a carvery however. The same amount of meat as a kids plate even tho was four meat carvery £9,99 only had three meats and lady moaned at the kids about using wrong spoon instead of tongues when there 7-13 and the tongues was red hot! Not great people skills. Lots more meat and better value at holly tree farm or riverside however the food was of good standard(cooked)!! Would come again and make sure it was in proportion for the price you pay when you spending £75
D. M.
Very busy place, bar service leaves a lot to be desired - one serving and taking table drinks orders therefore a long wait to be served. Lovely food but crockery (especially the plates) are very worn such that they look dirty/unclean.
D. M.
Birthday Breakfasts, Birthday Lunches, Breakfast Afternoon cream teas, Birthday Evening Dinner! Any celebration it's our fav family meet up place.
G. T.
Love the carvery here just a little luke warm sometimes but everything tastes great
R. H.
We visit every so often for lunch/dinner but last week we booked a breakfast with santa. The food was lovely and hot, staff helpful and santa himself was fantastic. He spent time with my girls, we didn't at all feel rushed and they both recieved a goody bag each filled with crafty items and seeds to plant.
I'm hoping this is on next year too, it was a really nice festive morning and my daughters thought it was amazing.
Thank you :)
j. s.
Came here yesterday , couldn't believe the price !!!! No waiting friendly service . We only had the carvery ,but, 2 pints , paid £1.50 extra for 1 king size meal , the other just a large .if you wanted, you could have up to 4 meats and as much veg as you liked and Yorkshire puddings and stuffing . total bill .......£19.98 .Definitely going back again , beautiful
T. E.
Nice choice of veg/vegan dishes didn't have to wait to be seated our waitress was really efficient and helpful, excellent children's menu now just not restricted to the carvery. Disappointed as some desserts were unavailable but overall worth a vusit as value for money
B. S.
Beautiful food, I highly recommend the honeycomb sundae too! They have a really effective set up for social distancing eating out! Hollie was a fab waitress! 😊
J. W. H.
No great shakes, arrived at 2 o'clock only beef left supposed to be 4 choices, veg mediocre. Went on a Groupon deal. Not worth it if your paying top dollar. Better carverys around.
c. b.
Attentive staff and lovely inside. Food cooked really well - good portions. A real gem in the area..!! Previously overlooked but will definitely be back for seconds .!!
c. h.
Excellent service from Hollie. Really goes the extra mile to ensure great customer service! Even catering for our friend who has a broken arm as a result of an incident with a chicken!
L. B.
As Carvery's go it's good
Even if you haven't booked they try to accommodate you though you may have to wait a little while.
They can be a little dizzy when it comes to presenting you with the bill we was charged One price three weeks in a row and then a higher price for the same deal this weekend.
Nevertheless I'd certainly recommend it.
G. B.
A reasonable price for a reasonable meal .
C. S.
Lots of parking, never had a problem. Lovely atmosphere. Felt very warm and inviting. Food was hot and good variety of meat and vegetables. Plenty of places to sit. Children welcome. A place for all ages to go
R. S.
Come here often with my family and we always love it! Food is always amazing, staff are always friendly and the atmosphere is cozy and perfect for a roast any day of the week. It's a family favourite!! And they have special offers on the app alot of the time. Bottomless softdrink There's an overflow carpark. Hope it stays open as it's the only carvery in Nottingham now open
J. H.
Very good service never been Toby for about six years meal was lovely ladies very nice and friendly
O. P.
A friendly and reasonably priced carvery, offering a good choice of meats and an unlimited wide choice of vegetables. Very popular at weekends and has a Monday to Friday special price of £7.99 per head.
G. F.
Breakfast was great loved the big Yorkshire pudding with gravy cannot beat it 😋
L.
Great carvery - very friendly, speedy service and nice food. This restaurant was very good overall with vegetarian carveries and big portion sizes available. I would definitely recommend this restaurant and would dine here again.
O. M.
Great place to come with friends on a Sunday for a roast dinner!
Plenty of space for medium sized groups which is great.
Staff are all very friendly and the food is great. …
P. S.
This is a passable place to eat a roast dinner although the standard of taste especially the vegetables seems to have declined over the past 2/3 years. The roasts themselves are fine and portions are generous but although there is a good …
L.
Went here a few weeks ago and I'm genuinely thrilled with this place. Food is always prepared hot and fresh (which is of the utmost importance) and the waiters are so friendly and heartfelt towards customers. I usually get the carvery and …

Lovely carvery 😋
A. T.
Food is spot on and customer service is spot on
I recommend this pub
B. P.
Called here for lunch and it was great. Good selection of meats and the veggies were fresh and well cooked. Service was friendly. Very good value for money. Would definitely recommend a visit
W. M.
After going for breakfast, the sausage and bacon was very tasty, the eggs were fried to my liking however the meal was cold especially the beans. But the staff were friendly and welcoming.
A. A.
Top class carvery. As with most restaurants very busy over the weekend so took a while to be seated. There is a nice secure grassed beer garden that is good for the kids to have a run around pre or post dinner.
D. B.
They only had 2 of the 4 meats available when I visited. It was around 7:30 pm on a Friday night, which I didn't think was too late. Also had to wait several minutes for them to refill the gravy. Didn’t live up to usual standard of Toby Carverys.
D. B.
Food was very nice.... but if you go on a Sunday be prepared to wait 60 - 90 minutes if you dont book a table and then half hour in queue to get food. Also groups of 4 or more got seated a lot quicker than 2 people.
L. J.
Delicious. Excellent value and polite staff
G. S.
Very pleasant meal with nicely cooked food
R. S.
Love the food here, very yummy😋
S. K.
First time my Family of 4 and I have been to a Toby Carvery,If you like your food as I do you are in for a treat with Friendly Welcoming Staff, Large Plates with plenty of Meat and Veg just how I like it.We would Recommend The Daleside Road Carvery to everyone.
Next time we are in the area will will return.. A big Thank you to all the Staff...
L. P.
Been twice in 2 weeks, the first time every thing was perfect, the carvery was lovely, very tasty and cooked well, with 2 generous slices of meat. The 2nd time which was Sunday 18th March, there was a lady dishing the meat out and the meat portions were very tight, 2 x half a slice portions instead of full slices. Me and my partner both noticed. Dear owner please have a word with your staff, unless your a vegitarian the best part of a carvery is the meat. I will give it another go because the food is very nice, but if they dont give a decent amount of meat we wont return again.
M. G.
Breakfast is great here, but i didnt appriciate come 12pm how you need to move tables and told this at 12 or a couple of minutes before hand. Moving was not too bad but the attitude i got of the waitress was uncalled for. I happen to take an important phone call amd she just took my plate ... i said to her but you never ask if i finished, she replied well you have tissue on the plate. Then she walked off with the plate saying breakfast finihed at 11 anyway. I had to tell her that was rude ...brealfast servings are finiahed not those who are eating need to finish. Then the table of 4 at the side of me was told, are you ready to be kickes off! A nice cosy place all im saying is manners dont cost anything.
A. W.
The service was good and the general atmosphere in the restaurant was excellent. The buffet areas could be a bit cleaner though. The staff were very attentive and welcoming.
P. M.
Nice pub it's ok for larger but limited choices of beer .
s. J.
Very busy, plates were dirty on the bottoms, a long wait for the gravy, yet another wait for the mint sauce meanwhile the dinner was going cold. Food was nice when we eventually got to eat.
W. C.
We normally really enjoy our visits here but you really let us down 16th Sept. I am still waiting for a acknowledgement of my complaint put on your website. I booked table for 7 and added the celebration packsge. I rang twice to make sure this was in place and the day before was assured it was. We arrived and the table was not ready- no balloons and no high chair as requested. Why bother to book a table when you get treated as if you had just walked in!!. When I asked where the balloons were -I was greeted by a shrug and told noone knew anything about it. A wine glass with 3 balloons arrived eventually some celebration package. No apology offered. Very dissapointed.
T. N.
It is what it is ..if you fancy Sunday dinner it passed not been for a few years ..but £9.99 for a slice of meat and vegetables us pricy ...but went all the staff where lovely with the exception of one Amanda ...she asked us to swop tables fine can we sit in a booth ..no sorry reply there's only 3 of you yet she out us on a table for 6 ? Work that one out... anyway said she will look for another table so we waited and waited 15 minutes later we asked bar man what's happening he went to check and came back saying it was fine to sit on our original table ..🤔
Then Amanda came and cleared a drink that was not finished to which we had to chase down...food wise had meat and some veg but had to wait for roast spuds...then no cranberry sauce or gravy so in all cold food be time we waited and apart from Amanda's waitress skills it was nearly acceptable...
M. P.
Nice meal, unfortunately our waitress seemed to be having a bad day.
B. B.
staff are good food was lovely just be a bit warmer
J. B.
Really enjoyed our meals, friendly service, feels well run, always know what you are going to get, clear pricing so mnow need to worry!.have been a few times.. definitely visit again
D. B.
Carvery Osgood value for money. Only given 3 stars as we were sat in a draught and it was freezing. After our food we moved to the bar area, that was freezing too. Staff said they couldn't work the fires.
F. C.
Been for both the breakfast and the carvery during the week. Lots of choice. Meet was a little tough, I had the beef. You certainly feel like you could roll out of the restaurant you can eat so much!
D. A.
Normally good unless you go late in the day.
d. s.
Best place to get a carvery, staff are lovely. go about twice a week.
J.
Not bad, although you can't use their new app on Sundays for some reason?? And the coffee machine wasn't working (I think they didn't want to use it in reality). Food was ok, service ok, place ok. Will go again more than likely.
L. D.
Always great food, love the breakfast buffets
M. R.
Had lunch today at the colwick Tony carvery .for the first time in a long time the service we got from our waiter was fantastic such a helpful pleasant chap he was . I would employ him in a heart beat . Callam I hope the you are appropriated because you are a credit .
V. A.
Visited the newly refurbished Toby Carvery Colwick last night, much improved layout and decor. Chef was very pleasent and meat helping was much improved on previous visits. Our waitress, called 'Shorty' was also very helpful and took time to chat to us about the changes. Look forward to future visits. Val.
L. P.
great staff but back to wait for a table even though we had booked . then had to wait 30 min in the queue for food which isn't great with a 3 year old. it was so busy queing around people's table whist they were eating . puts me off going . but staff are very friendly and trying there best .
P. W.
Seriously good value for money especially the carvery that gets VERY busy on a Sunday. Food is delicious and service is good the only small gripe is the place could do with some refurbishment and bringing into the 21st century.
D. R.
A decent carvery and the nearest Toby since the Priory was turned into a Miller and Carter. It delivers exactly what you expect; decent quality food at a good price and staff are pleasant. My only criticism would be the length of time tables in the bar area are left uncleaned and cluttered with glasses and food debris.
L. S.
It was a lovely carvery, cooked to perfection and quite warm. There is always a bit of a wait in the queue but that's to be expected when the food is so nice. Well done Toby.
R. J.
Had the buffet breakfast and the unlimited tea. Enjoyable experience, nicely cooked food and very helpful staff.
d. r.
Really enjoyed the breakfast. Cannot wait to go back
F. c.
Considering how difficult it is for the staff at this time i believe they did an excellent job in keeping the food standards and service standards high. I hope they get a good bonus for the excellent work.
D. A.
Food was good as always
J. W.
Good place to try Sunday Roast in Nottingham. Fresh meat and many diverse vegetables. But have to book the table in advance since it is very handy on Sunday.
L. Q.
Lovely food however ran our of the meat very quickly and service was pretty much non existent.
C. M.
Had great meal there today There was 6 of us and my Great Grandaughter all enjoyed the food etc Would definetly recommend to anyone....
r. s.
Don't know what its like to be honest.
It was really busy so we couldn't get in.
Looks good though and its really popular so its a shame we couldn't wait.
Id recommend booking a table if you are planning to go for Sunday lunch.
D. B.
Didn't get my birthday meal yesterday (St Patrick day) so came here this morning with the other half for breakfast. Great service, great food. Thoroughly enjoyed it.
K. T.
Lovely staff who were more than happy to help but we're not bothering you all of the time. Good quality food. X
S. B.
Friendly staff but average quality food. Hadn’t been to a carvery for years so wanted to try it out again. Queue for plating up was long and slow moving. Ok for a cheap Sunday lunch rather than make your own.
S. P.
Nice food, nice staff. Shame there's no or very little air con, I wouldn't recommend visiting in summer unless you don't mind sitting outside.
G. G.
I love this carvery. The food is fantastic, hot, well cooked and there is a good choice. I have been many many times.
Suggestions: I would be to have at least one thing change every day just to change it up a bit. One day sliced potatoes, another turnip, another something else. It will give the REGULAR customer a chance to experience something different and the chef a chance to exerperiment a little.
Another I would love the chance to try onion gravey instead of just the beef gravey all the time. Just like my gran used to cook it. Yummmmm.
A. G.
It's been quite a while since I've visited the TOBY, I enjoyed the carvery very much, but would have liked a little more meat. The staff are very friendly, and its a very nice place to visit.
D. F.
Lamb dinner was lovely! Hot, plenty of choice have already booked for December! Glad we made a reservation as it was very busy !
l. d. s.
Great carvery any day of the week! Hot plates and hot food, so everything tastes freshly made. Great selection of veg, and the meat is really tender too. Great value for money.
M. S.
Always a very nice dinner, I really like it now it's changed its look,
Get the guy with the beard he gives you loads of meat,
The staff are always Frendly,
You never feel rushed to get out,
You can no longer walk in the side entrance you have to come around the front
I also like how you don't have to be seated by a member of staff you can pick your own seat.
J. G.
Has been done up since last year. Still quality food and very easy. It even has good options for vegetarians. The inside is nicer than before.
S. H.
Excellent choice of breakfast. Helpful staff.
S. K.

A nice cosy pub style environment which serves a carvery of pork, beef, gammon or turkey along with yorkshire puddings sausages and vegetables, which can be very nice. As with all buffet style food however it always depends on the timing as it doesn't take long for the food to go slightly cold and dry. So I would suggest getting there when carvery first starts. A sunday also is particularly busy as you would expect and you can be waiting up to an hour for a table.

Great English Sunday roast type food with three and sometimes four different meats and the same time but very stingy on amount you are given. Eat as much veg as you like but not the meats.

Been for both the breakfast and the carvery during the week. Lots of choice. Meet was a little tough, I had the beef. You certainly feel like you could roll out of the restaurant you can eat so much!

This pub is lovely . Service is ok . Lacking a little happiness in the staff though !! Maybe that's management's fault . Sort it managers !!

As always the Carvery is excellent with plenty of choice and the staff at this particular Toby Carvery really go out of their way to give great service. Definitely going back!! Keep up the excellent work!! :D

Everything you would expect from a carvery. Self serve veg, good selection. Good price, plenty of room - avoid the usual family rush hour by going later.
