J. C.Despite quite a long wait for food (for which we were given complimentary drinks) the food was absolutely lovely. Staff were very pleasant and helpful. Overall definitely worth a visit for a laid back lunch with a canal view! Especially when the sun is shining!
N. S.This bar has survived the test of time where as others haven't. It has a lovely outdoor area by the canal and is very popular in good weather. Good range of beers on tap, easy to use app and good range of food on the menu. Decent toliets. Close to train, tram and bus station for easy access.
M. B.I came to the Via Fossa to have a soft drink. I met Charley who is very experienced service engagement with myself providing me with an incredible wonderful amazing service. Charley is a perfect example of a assistant manager and I thank her for her professionalism and the wonderful experience I was given. All the very best Charley 100% perfect.

We don't go into Nottingham much at night but were pleasantly surprised, staff were very helpful, took us through to the stairs so we could find the room easily lovely room + the bar staff went out of their way to find a drink for sulphite intolerant hubby. Thanks. Drinks were reasonably priced too . Would recommend to anyone having a party.
S. 1.Visited here two weeks in a row. I live a 300 mile round trip away and one of the contributing factors on coming back for the 2nd weekend in a row was Via Fossa. A lovely pub with great, friendly staff and a fantastic beer garden beside the canal. Great food also, faultless!

M. W.Went for a wedding. Is a really nice venue and the staff are polite. Was a bit hard to hear the speeches and ceremony with the noise from downstairs, but apart from that it was really nice.
a. b.Great place but out the back on the canal your now penned in like sheep, you can't walk from the back of via fossa to ya mate who you see outside the rear of the pub next door cause he's in a different sheep pen, sillyness at its best

T. E.Hired this venue out with a friend last Saturday for a joint bday party and don’t have any complaints at all. Venue was amazing had the whole upstairs just for our party, staff were lovely, can bring your own dj and food was great would definitely recommend to anyone that wants to have a similar party!! D. G.We had a great time when we visited Via Fossa. We had a lunchtime visit on a Saturday. We arrived early and it was fairly empty but don't filled up. There was a good atmosphere about the place, relaxed and friendly. Good was also very nice and very reasonable prices. We would certainly good back again next time we are in Nottingham.

J. S.Great spot in town to grab a drink, right beside the canal. Can get busy when the weather is good, leading to queues at the bar, but as long as you aren't in a rush all is okay. Friendly staff. Food is standard Greene King fare, nothing special but perfectly adequate.

D. G.Attracts a boisterous crowd - fine for a night out, and very nice to sit outside when the weather's nice. Can get a bit rowdy, and I wouldn't want to get food here to sit inside. The food is really good (and service from bar staff is great) but the few times I've been here it's been hectic inside. Last time I was there and had a bite to eat the bar area had a bunch of football supporters in, and we struggled to hear each other talk over the racket. If it had been warm enough to eat outside, it would have been a total win.

R. H.I stopped here with my family for lunch on Sunday. The waterfront setting is scenic and not too loud. A good place to stop if you've been walking by the canal.
The food is mostly baguettes, burgers or suchlike. I had the all day breakfast which was a good size and tasty. There's a kid's selection and a light bites menu too.

Flat access inside on first floor but a few small steps to get in
j. t.Went for a private do on a Saturday night. Besides the people that were invited to the private room upstairs, downstairs was dead, certainly wouldn't go there at night, during the day, in summer, it might be a lot better. Drinks are expensive too.
J. A.Went on B/Hol wk/end, not great. Small bar, not enough bar staff, nine deep to get served and took about 15 mins. However, in the week on a warm day it's a nice venue. Overpriced, but as are most other city centre pubs.

N. B.Out of the three canal side restaurants here, Via Fossa is my preferred spot for outdoor seating. The bar staff was friendly and helpful, and out food came quickly. Sadly, some of the items we wanted from the menu were not available, which was a bit of a detraction. The quality of the food was fine, in line with Canalhouse/Waterfront, so for us it came down to atmosphere, and Via Fossa was the most comfortable of out visits to the three.

S. C.Booked for a company do. Really on the ball friendly staff and doorman, buffet a cut above the usual. However, utterly baffled by the appalling performance of the so called dj. I can only assume he was filling in for a friend. Didn't know how to use equipment, cut tracks short half way through, I could go on. This was Dec 21st BTW. Not cross, but I was not the only one left wondering what on earth he was up to! Would use venue again tho.
E. K.My sister had her wedding reception here. It's got a balcony were you can have a cigarette and tables and chairs so you can relax in the fresh air. As a bar, a dance floor and loads of room for the children to play too.
