A great pub offering good ales and fine food. Staff are very welcoming. The pub had a roaring fire and offers both a restaurant and more traditional drinking bar area. I enjoyed a couple of beers both were well kept and good quaffing ales. Well worth a visit.

This is a small welcoming pub that looks like a converted farm house. The staff are extremely friendly, the drinks are well priced, the food is exceptional quality and value. A recommended must visit if you are In the area

Me and my good lady spotted this beautiful looking pub upon passing. We decided to double back and didn't regret it . Wonderful staff can't do enough for you . The food was cooked beautifully,...Thankyou very much from Alan and Claire, we will of course be returning. Absolute GEM of a find.

I'm not sure what all the negative reviews are for.....Went for Sunday lunch today, food was very nice! Had the Roast beef which was very nice, portion was generous (Glad I didn't go for a starter too) huge Yorkshire puds! Yes service wasn't the quickest but it's Sunday and I would rather that than be rushed out of the place. They even did a smaller portion for the little one. Good pint too! We will be back

Nice little pub, lovely staff, bit of a wait for food but all tastes fantastic. We (2 of us) had 3 courses, the main being steak (which was beautifully cooked despite not being asked how we like it), total cost including 5 pints was £85. Would visit again (no sign of Simon pegg though)

I've been going in this pub for over 40 years and still love it. It is a small character pub with two rooms one room is used for serving food which I haven't tried so unfortunately cannot comment. There is also a seating area outside with a good size car park.

A charming village pub serving excellent beer especially the Pedigree. Additionally both the service and food is first class and nothing is too much trouble. Winter months there is a log fire which is delightful. Well worth a visit.

Classic English country pub, food was good but the portions were giant and we didn't finish it all. Was quite quiet for the time we went, so lacked a bit of atmosphere. Unfortunately we could hear the manager and one of his staff arguing while eating, which kind of spoilt the meal.

Excellent food. Very welcoming. Good idea to book as it is a very old, quaint pub and therefore limited in capacity. It is also a local's pub so if you don't enjoy having a crowded, and therefore potentially noisy mealtime, avoid the obviously busy times. The local's are great fun though. I've had several excellent meals here over the last three months or so with absolutely nothing to complain about. Highly recommend!

New owners; "The Smalley Family" present an authentic and welcoming "local" atmosphere. Food is consistently good and reasonably priced. A varied range of drinks are presented including some Fine Ales. Specials boards and Specials evenings are available, advance booking for the restaurant is advisable.
