Reviews of The Cape Of Good Hope
N. B.
Great pub with really friendly staff and a good selection of drinks from ales to cocktails. Atmosphere was nice and had a good bit of outdoor seating for a sunny day. Clothe venue was clean and tidy including the toilets.
Kitchen was closed so can’t comment on the food as we had to go elsewhere.
C. O.
Really fun atmosphere at this pun. People working there are super nice. The chicken... man it is out of the wold. Soft juicy and crunchy in the same bite, with this amazing jerk slaw that compliments the f out of that chicken.
If u want a good time and amazing food then this is the place to eat!
T. J.
Really enjoy the pub quiz but we turned up on one Tuesday to be informed that there were no burgers (which they offer 2-4-1 on). We were planning on eating there so not being informed before we got there (we had booked) was annoying since it was nearly 9pm and they wouldn't offer the deal on any of the other food. It turned out they only had no buns so we said we can have the burgers without the buns (which is fine) but then one of the chicken burgers we were given contained raw meat. The staff only offered a new burger and no money back, which given one of us had eaten raw chicken was quite poor. Would recommend this pub for the drinks and pub quiz but would recommend staying away from the food.

Had a good lunch here. Nice people, good food
S. L.
Absolutely worth it! We loved the Boss burger and the salad, as well. They were all huge portions, great quality and good price! Thank you so much!
j. k.
Come to the cape for the the pub quiz tonight! And what a brilliant night we had! 2 for 1 burgers, a great pub quiz! Great music In between rounds. Food was great and hot.
B. J.
Been in here a few times now. The staff are friendly and you get served quickly. I ordered the chicken tenders and they looked and tasted great! The music was good too! Will definitely be back here again soon!!
N. W.
Nice food, lovely staff. It is a friendly pub so you feel at home. Zero alcohol is more expensive than regular but that's the same everywhere.
C. H.
I had a great Sunday roast at the Cape of Good Hope. Generous portions, great atmosphere and welcoming staff. Will definitely be bringing my family back soon!
S. G.
Easy to find, food available, fine range of drinks. Lots of space and room outside. Lacks atmosphere a bit but lovely staff, well worth a visit.
A. S.
Best pub food I’ve ever had. Period. Excellent selection of drinks and food, including vegan food. The vegan curry and lasagna were unbelievable, so full of flavor and fresh aromas. The dirty vegan fries were crispy and delicious, perfectly seasoned. 10/10. Highly recommended!
H. E.
The staff were incredibly professional and efficient. Mood/lighting was nice as expected, But the best thing about this place is the staff who have clearly been trained by the RAF.
K. B.
Nice food, very friendly staff, comfortable outdoor zone
B. B.
We gave an opportunity to the food at this pub in order to get the taste of such places (pretty common in these cities).
The place is nice and cozy, and the beer is really good.
Unfortunately, the food was just average and the beef sunday roast was not the best of it's kind.
I wouldn't avoid this place specifically if you are around, but there may be better options in Oxford !
B. V.
Big cow burger was delicious with 2 sides is a decent amount of food for dinner, tripple cooked chips and padrone peppers was also great. The service at the bar was welcoming and helpful, toilets are clean and tidy.
A. S.
The location is good. We really liked the setting inside. At the back there is an open space and boots to sit(which is also pretty nice). Good service. Has few vegetarian options as well. The food was also not bad. They even allow dogs inside.
B. P.
Service was excellent, nice selection of beer and the food was great, very clean. The bartender max was excellent
M. D.
Have been here on numerous occasions. Always the best bar staff with amazing humour and great service, doesn’t matter how busy they are, always a smile on their faces! Mega shout out to Ellie who is just a diamond and so welcoming and Tom who can save even a cocktail from a baby who wants to cause destruction! Thanks guys, always the best night!! Xx
K. H.
Lovely food / served with a smile and promptly - friendly staff and a wonderful atmosphere - well worth a visit 😀
C. P.
Had a lovely meal today staff very friendly can't fault this pub very clean quick service and amazing Sunday roast
m. y.
Fun place w/ great atmosphere & good pub food. We shared the pulled pork pie and sausage roll, which were great. And the corn chips w/cheesy fondue and sirloin steak, which were just ok. Great beers.
O. E.
What a lovely little pub. Great venue. Great atmosphere wherever your sat inside or outside. Also has a function room for hire upstairs. And the food is great! Highly recommend the southern fried noble chicken bites with Korean bbq sauce. The nachos were also great!
A. M.
The service was top class! Very friendly staff. One particular member of staff that stuck out was Ellie! She went out of her way all night to make sure our experience was rememberable what a wonderful woman'pure beauty!
A. B.
Best burger I have had in a long time, we spent the morning in the botanical gardens a short walk away, very nice way to end the outing. Very friendly service.
M. B. B.
I really enjoyed my curry, spiced but not hot. Wonderful crispy okra, the sauce with the sweet potatoes and spinach, a must for vegetarian. The burger... another visit. Good place to watch sports, families welcome, toilets and local clean. Good waiter service: 5 stars.
M. T.
We came in on a Saturday lunch time for some snacks and a pint. It was a great experience. It was not too busy. Felt calm. Many windows made it feel very light. The sitting was comfortable. And service very friendly. Also food was good. Especially the sauces.
J. N.
Great burger and service.
C. M.
One of the best burgers I've ever had! The fish and chips was nice too, crispy and tasty!
M. P.
Went here on Saturday night. Good selection of beers and nice atmosphere. Sadly served an off beer to start with but easily rectified by the staff. Unfortunately at 1950 the manager informed us that the table was booked at 2000 and we needed to vacate, as we were finishing our drinks he aggressively cleared the table showering me in broken glass. Good to know my custom is worth less than the pre-booking...
J. K.
Dean and the team from the bar to the kitchen do a fantastic job and a heart for the wider community too. Great food and drink and a friendly atmosphere.
Personally, it's a special place for us.... the first pub we visited when we were planning to move to Oxford and since then had many good nights here... Beer and Carol's last year was probably the best! Thanks for everything... we'll be back.👍
s. a.
Great pub, great food, good location, dog friendly with treats and water, vegan friendly and gluten free also
E. M.
Nice pub with a great outdoor section - table service can be a bit slow when matches on as to be expected, but fine if you go to the bar. A surprisingly good Sunday roast!
A. D.
Good range of gin. Tables inside and out. TV screens showing sport.
B. D.
Good location good service. The food is average
S. L.
We loved the place. It has a special, authentic atmosphere. The service is great, just like the prices. We have tried a salad and a Boss burger. Both was great in quality, taste and portion. I got a new piece for my "Glasses around the world" collection, as well. (Thank to the manager and the awesome staff!)
Thank you so much again for the great experience! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Y.
Nice selection of drinks and food.
Seating area is limited though.
A. S.
A Cowley Road stalwart, ever present in various guises for a long time now. Decent mix of some craft beers aswell as some real ale and lagers. The food is pretty good pub fayre, a mix of classics, smaller plates, and a selection of burgers. The food and drink has changed over the years but one thing that has remained constant is that it's a great venue.
A. N.
Delicious food, excellent customer service, enchanting decor. Hope to visit again soon.
P. L.
We enjoyed their classic cheese burger with triple fried chips, and boy-o-boy Mmm-mmm-mm-mm-MM 😋😋😋
R. T.
Good atmosphere, excellent choice of drinks available. Had a burger from the food menu and it was superb. Bar fills up quickly, would recommend reserving a table if you want to sit down.
T. A.
Nice beers and decor. Pub would be much improved without TVs though.
D. C.
Lovely service, very nice food, although choice was a bit limited I thought. Will definitely come back when in Oxford though!
B. D.
Like this atmosphere. I visited my University time)) Good beer, music and service
M. F.
The food was brilliant and the staff were very friendly and able to help me with any queries.
Would come again 🙂
F. G.
A fantastic pub with friendly staff and great quality food. If you are in Oxford on a Tuesday night be sure to pop over for the pub quiz, such a laugh. Really enjoy visiting this pub and their outdoor seating area around the back has heat lamps and covering.
J. D.
Great pub, very welcoming, enjoyed watching the football. Thanks for showing the match I requested and putting the sound on. Evening spoiled only by some dodgy refereeing. I'll definitely be back!
C. P.
Great atmosphere and lovely views of The Plain and Magdalen College tower. It feels a bit more spacious than other places as well.
D. J.
Lovely scampi and chips and outdoor booths. Staff were nice also. Perhaps could do with some veg with the meal but other than that a great pub with some nice craft beers too.
S. R.
I was served by Ellie and she was super helpful and friendly will definitely be coming back again !
E. N.
Really nice smooth coffee. Dog friendly. Great customer service, the Italian bar tender was very friendly. Nice selection of drinks (the Japanese whiskey is very smooth) and nice to have pistachios as a snack. Will deffo be back.
M. W.
No staff were wearing capes but really enjoyed spinning around on the bar stools
T. H.
Excellent, knowledgeable and friendly young lady served us. Quiet on a week day.
M. M.
Place is really nice, perfect if you want to avoid the confusion of the city centre. All the staff was super friendly.
C. S.
The Cape of Good Hope is an Oxford institution. An excellent choice for any occasion. Classic pub atmosphere with very helpful and friendly staff. 10/10, couldn’t recommend more.
C. N.
Been going here for years and seen it go through many changes of management, went in recently having moved away a while before and the guys in there were lovely. Met the new manager who has brought a pub dog along with him, always a win. Beer was good as always
A. J.
Really helpful and friendly staff. Will definitely be coming again soon.
D.
Popped in for a quick bite to eat and pint and was very pleasantly surprised. The drinks were excellent and reasonably priced for a city centre bar and the food was superb. Would definitely come back.
N. K.
Service was good, food and drink mediocre (chicken was microwaved and cocktail not mixed well!). But lovely atmosphere and more simple drinks were well done. Good gin menu.
M. T.
Very nice pub, good food
E. N.
I went to the Cape of Good Hope before the second restrictions came into force and left my favourite scarf there. After contacting them on Facebook, they had found it and were incredibly helpful in getting it back. Their cocktails are great, pints reasonably priced and the staff could not be lovelier! The outside area is nice and heated (a plus for winter) and the inside is very cosy and atmospheric. Would recommend for a good catch up when it is open again!
M. B.
We stopped in The Cape of Good Hope to shelter from the rain. Standing on the corner near a roundabout it just looks like a basic local pub but once inside there's plenty more than basic. It's bright and lively inside with a good choice of beers and gins. There is some great sheltered outdoor seating and the food we saw (but didn't try) all looked great. Add to that the service was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed our visit.
L.
They carry a gluten free beer. The space is really nice. They have an outdoor garden which you access through the bar. There is an plenty of seating and it is spread out so you don’t feel like you are on top of one another. This is a great place for groups. The GF food options are a bit limited but I got a burger with no bun and a side of chips and broccoli and it was delicious.
M. K.
Great craft brews, delicious chicken burgers and knowledgeable friendly staff. A wonderful find!
B. H.
Pleasantly surprised. Good aesthetic, music not too loud, good cider on tap, and food pretty good. Only small complaint was that burger arrived without one of the advertised ingredients and when I went to the bar to ask if I could have some on the side, the member of staff seemed to assume that I was mistaken and just hadn't seen it. They brought some out, so it was fine, but for a moment it did feel like they were arguing with me. It was a small thing, but as I was paying for it, I feel justified in asking for it.
P. K.
Good place for a pint in the afternoon. :-) They serve a great variety of beer and the sandwiches are great as well!
The staff is really friendly and attentive. The view on the street is great so you can watch the people passing by and and study the ocurring events in the streets from the sideline, which i think is quite relaxing at times.
F. G.
On an little trip to Oxford with hubby and children we stopped at this pub for later lunch. Although it was very busy, a member of staff managed to get us a table which was superb. My boys enjoyed watching the rugby and I enjoyed eating my delicious burger. The atmosphere was live, people of all ages and backgrounds. I really like the looking of the outside tables, I wish I had taken some pictures. Great service, friendly and helpful stuff with yummy food. What more can you want from a pub?
P. E.
It's a nice place to go got just a few drinks, or to grab a proper pub meal. They've got a pub garden in the back so you can enjoy sitting outside.
It's quite a big pub.
They also have music evenings going on here.
Open mic nights etc
Had some visits that is was nice and quite there, with enough seating. But other times it was quite packed. Depends a bit if university is having a break or not.
The beers are a nice selection and the toilets are fairly clean.
Would recommend if you're looking for a nice place just outside of the high street
C. H.
Great atmosphere, central location and not too bad prices. Clean toilets and facilities and a friendly welcome when we arrived.
Variety is somewhat lacking which isn't a problem if they have what you like, which in my family's case was typically British meat and vegetables. I perhaps wouldnt go with a group of young friends. Also the vegetables were supposed to be seasoned but actually just ended up being peppered to high heaven.
H.
Lovely atmosphere and super-friendly staff here. Lots of tables, but still has a feeling of privacy. The Sunday roast was good, but not great. The brownie with hazelnut ice cream, however, was AMAZING!
M. M.
A nice pub and location, but disappointed as I rang the night before to book a table for the six nations England V Wales game (as they advertised to do so). Only to be told when I arrived, firstly they had no record of my booking or name, then when I spoke to another member of staff that they had given my table away to a larger group as there were only two of us. I was told I was welcome to sit elsewhere, which meant none of the tables reserved for the game, which obviously meant a seat with a poor view of the screen which is disappointing when that was the whole point of the reservation. Perhaps in the future only allow reservations on match days for 3 or more people per table so your not disappointing smaller groups or couples? On a positive note the atmosphere was great. I heard they have a large reception room upstairs, why not get a large projector screen/speakers and open it up there?
B. D.
Very prompt service with the team on the ball with regard to covid 19. Rules explained in an appropriate manner. Food was lovely (I had a burger). Overall a good experience. Furniture a little dated is my only criticism.
C. S.
Food was amazing. Would highly recommend, burger was impeccable, chips were great, couldn't be happier. Only complaint was that it was a Friday night and people were going in and out to their patio and the patio door would slam everytime. But that's minor when the food is that tasty!
R. D.
Food was adequate, but they had run out of both 'Beyond Meat Burger' and 'Tobacco Onions', so the vegan choices were very restricted. Service was poor "only one chef", which meant that my nachos were served immediately, then my friend's burger was served half an hour later. They were good to offer something on the house; the tin lid was when she requested a pint of Guinness, only to be told that it had run out, (Ireland rugby match on TV and "no beer delivery" the previous day). Disappointing.
C. O.
Great place for a beer and a decent menu
J. S.
Did a work reunion here on the weekend. Bar staff and chefs fantastic and great value for money. My colleagues had a great time and the food was great. Only thing that let it down was information and discussions before the event. I had to chase for food menu and costs, emails "not received" again i chased the lack of response which was lucky that i did so i could tell them my responses to food etc.
B. B.
From Great Yarmouth Norfolk. We walked around Oxford all day and came across this pub on the way back to our accommodation. Lovely pub great atmosphere hubby loved the ales and the food was amazing. Service was fast and lads were very polite and helpful. Just how a good pub should be.
A. L.
A lovely pub with a nice aesthetic, the Cape of Good Hope is a quality place to eat and drink.
It has a casual vibe with chatty and friendly staff, who are happy to strike up conversation or recommend a suitable drink for your tastes.
Prices are reasonable and on par for a chic pub, and food is good, with portion sizes quite large. I have only visited during the day, when it is quiet, but have been told it can get busy at night and is popular in the Oxford scene.
Certainly one of my favourite pubs in Oxford, I hope to return more regularly.
T. E.
Reliable and good sunday roasts. Not amazing, bit of a production line type foood, but the overall effect is good. Swrvice quick.
K. H.
Had an amazing veggie sunday lunch, which didn't break the bank! Highly recommend!!
D. H.
We only stopped here briefly before heading into town for a night out. However, I wish we had spent longer, or returned. Nice location near Madelaine Bridge. Nice traditional pub feel with a lively back room and outside area. I would imagine this pub is great for a quiet drink in the week, or a lively weekend night.
A. N.
Have had decent food here before. Good selection of beers. You can get a Kozel here! A little crowded sometimes but good atmosphere, nice inside and outside. Ample covered smoking area.
I've come back to downgrade my rating to 3 stars due to the poor quality of the food I had there today. The deep fried camembert was a soggy cheesy mess, as if deep fried at too low a temperature. The chicken wings were oily and unimpressive. The chocolate brownie was tough and came with insufficient ice cream.
R. M.
Top pub. We'll visit again soon. Spacious and the staff were welcoming.
B. E.
Love the pub! Vibe is cozy and cool. But the food seems a little overpriced for what you actually get. On the whole very tasty, but sometimes just misses the mark on some elements (the fries)
A. L.
Great pub serving good food.
M. R.
Not a bad place for a casual bite to eat and a drink. Food is ok and portions generous for the price, however I found my burger very dry.
Staff friendly but not always know what's going on in terms of the menu. Good to sit outside in the backyard.
T. O.
Lovely pub with a nice little courtyard out back and some street seating out front. Good pub food and regular live music, open mic every Wednesday night and local musicians perform there every other Thursday.
Cheerful bar staff, overall there is a nice, friendly atmosphere here, a good selection of beverages and clean toilets.
T. B.
Good food. Ellie was amazing and welcoming
M. J.
The Cape of Good Hope is by far the best pub down Cowley/ in Oxford. The staff were so friendly and food was delicious (would recommend the fish and chips). Live music was on while we were in and the local talent was lovely to listen to while meeting friends. Awesome decor, would recommend this place to anyone anywhere.
R. H.
Just a quick drink on route to city center, bar person very friendly chatty, said covered booths available in the garden area friendly easy pub .
M. S.
Decent pub, outside seats have a roof and heaters. Table service could be a bit quicker or provide an app so customers can order rather than waiting
J. D.
This friendly pub at the top of Oxford's famous Cowley Road has lovely staff, tasty beer, snacks and comfy chairs. Look out for regular open mike nights on the small stage. Large function room available upstairs if you need more space. Outside seating in a courtyard garden all year round, and out front in the summer. Its prominent position makes it a favourite meetup spot for people going on to gigs or club nights later.
K. H.
It was really lovely going to the Cape before lockdown 2B after Christmas. They were well set up for Covid, App ordering and heated booths on the garden. I'd recommend visiting when you can.
N. J.
Good pub, good cocktails.
J. W.
Great location on the edge of the city centre, with good decor and plenty of eating spaces. Decent menu with a steer towards spicer choices. E.g. halloumi burger had a barbeque twist to it. Reasonable prices and friendly service- will be going back.
M. S.
Good place to spend NYE with friends. A little lax on mask wearing when moving around otherwise would have been 5*
M. C.
Nice quite pub, like the music selection. Keeps you away from the hustle of Oxford High Street. Very friendly staff
T. S.
Dirty – in need of a deep clean. I have noticed this each time I visited. Last time there were barflies everywhere, a neighbouring table was using deodorant to try to repel them, and the place stank of stale alcohol. decor is a bit stern and severe. Otherwise great selection of drinks and nice staff, I would visit more if it was more comfortable and clean.
R. s.
Amazing staff
Good vibe to relax
P. K.
SERVICE: Amazing
Fried chicken: perfect
Steak: exactly as it should be
Chicken Roast (Sunday): could be warmer and better roasted.
Over all, a good lunch and a good dinner the previous day.
N. T.
The best Sunday nut roast I've had in the UK! Yes, even better than all the ones in London. It's just superb! Plus they give a generous serving of gravy.
D. F.
Excellent service, so friendly and helpful. Food was promptly served, hot, tasty and good value for money. Great location for people and town watching from its position at the junction of maybe 5 roads!!
H. J.
Nice pub. Could do with some nicer places to sit, and they have a very limited and poor selection of standard beers! Either Peroni for nearly £5!! Or Amstel, which I despise. Pretty bad, but alright beer garden, with heaters and stalls, so that keeps the score up.
D. A.
Good pub, good food, meet there regularly, plenty of tables and seating, not normally overcrowded, little outdoor booths are quite handy, well enough sheltered even in winter. The garden is really just and outdoor yard, no greenery or trees, hence loses one star, otherwise excellent and recommended.
p.
The bartender's attitude towards people asking for specialized coffee in a pub which doesn't serve any was roughly that they're more than free to go somewhere else and that he doesn't get paid any less if they leave. This wasn't directed at me - it was about some customers at another pub - but it was still unsettling to hear. I am not thrilled about being served by someone who cares about how much he gets paid rather than the customers' satisfaction. It is true that customers should not ask for things not in the menu, but such situations can be handled more politely, whereas this bartender had a rather arrogant opinion. Furthermore, I couldn't help but wonder whether what he said was at least partly aimed at me, since I had ordered an Americano, which was on offer, even though the expectation in a pub is for one to order alcohol. Even if it was a coincidence, precisely because I had ordered coffee, he could have been more tactful and waited for me to take a seat before commenting about people wanting specialized coffee. I would not feel comfortable going back and ordering coffee. But it's okay because he won't get paid any less.
I. K.
Good selection of cradt beers beers. Conveniently placed if you return from a busy day visiting Oxford colleges and museums. Average food and friendly staff. Prices are reasonable.
B. N.
Nice pub. A good but expensive Sunday lunch. I like the beer garden area.
B. C.
Initially sat at the back at the bar, but constantly got strong smells of the toilets.
Moved into the outside area, the seats had heater lamps so was nice even in the cold winter
A. D.
Good service, plenty of space inside and out. Same problem as with most of Oxford about prices for drinks, but at least they have a good selection.
K. T.
Ellie and Tom was do helpful coiñsnt recommend them more thank you
J. K.
Went for some leaving drinks was a good e6
M. N.
The food was quite good and the portions were decent. The atmosphere at the pub is a that of a classic British pub. It's definitely a nice place to spend the evening.
L.
It's definitely up there with the easiest-to-spot pubs in Oxford, hence the expensive price of food & drinks - a lot of the menu is delicious though & the Kozel is a winner. Great outdoor garden and wide interior but cosy seating arrangements. Fun pub quizzes. It's so popular in the evenings it can be difficult to find seats which is a pain.
T. S.
Good selection of IPAs and various bar snacks. There is also quite often live music too. As with most pubs in Oxford now, it's pretty expensive for a pint of beer.
h.
Good food... Nice ambience.. Cider was to the point ans so was fish and chips..
T. C.
Love The Cape of Good Hope! The amosphere in here on open mic nights is amazing! The staff is always super friendly and know everything about their beers on tap 😊
R. P.
Not a bad place. Bit of a student vibe going on. The beer was okay. The toilets are a bit bohemian and reminiscent of a spit and sawdust pub (check for paper if your desperate).
J. P.
Good for a drink or two on a night out in Oxford. Seating is plentiful and there is never too much of a queue at the bar. Reasonable beer selection.
J. M. (.
Decent pub. Good selection of drinks and standard pub fair with a quirk. I've had the full English burger, with black pudding and an egg in it. Quite yummy.
C. L.
On a long trek around Oxford and stumbled on this oasis. A summer early evening watching the world go by as I supped an excellent pint of landlord. 🥰 perfect.
P. B.
Lovely place and great staff. Services was very quick and drinks are priced great.
s. b.
Nice pub. Outdoor heaters are brilliant. I very much h enjoyed the Korean chicken.
A. O.
Left my wallet on the bar and they brought it to me promptly. Very good service if you ask me. Food smelled nice, good gin, good beer especially after an hour punting .
S.
Very nice traditional English pub. Additionally, on Monday nights at the first floor, people gather together to play board games. Anyone can participate and bring games. Super fun.
A.
Great bar, decent beer garden, a must visit on an Oxford pub crawl.
S. F.
Good atmosphere and quick service. Reasonable prices, but was a bit loud when I was there.
D. H.
Nice, bit pricey, good beer, since they have revamped the garden it is quite pleasant to sit out the back. Some good local bands on Thursday's too.
c.
Very on route from where I was departing to where I was arriving. More or less half way in fact. Made the second part of the journey trickier but more enjoyable due to mild intoxication. Would recommend if you find yourself half way between 2 locations.
M. O.
Really nice pub. Staff were really nice had a great time
M. L.
Nice beer list, friendly staff and good seating arrangements. The food is supposedly upscale pub fare but the burger I had was underwhelming.
H. R.
Nice typical pub, in a good location as a meeting point and there is good space for large groups. The food is good with a few innovative dishes and the beer selection is ok.
J. G.
Decent spacious Oxford pub, OK variety of beer but ale is limited and average. Live music during the week and outdoor seating
N. L.
Really good place for the things I do there, including Board games and Werewolves, a watching a Match, and drawing. I have also seen some Open Mic performances in the background. Unfortunately, due to the lack of backing track accessories, I am unable to at this kind of entertainment itself.
C. S.
Great food, place and staff. The meals we ordered were very good and tasty. Well done!
S. N.
Only had the food a few times, pretty standard pub food. The beer selection is good, rotating taps with guest taps better than most of the pubs in Oxford
L. P.
A wide range of beer, but it's never particularly good. Food is ok. Feels a bit like it capitalises on its great location over offering genuine quality.
T. D.
Social distancing was very well managed, staff was polite enjoyed our meal only downfall was the lighting in the pub could have been brighter.
M. M.
Delicious chicken wings! My friend had fish&chips! Great food:) like this place! The best chicken wings in Oxford :)

We had prebooked a table for Sunday lunch and informed them in advance that we were a party of 3 vegetarians and 1 vegan but were told on arrival that 2 of the vegan items on the menu weren't available which only left the rather lame vegan lasagna, I appreciate its difficult to cater for everyone but as we had emailed in advance I think they could have done more
