Very cool. Superb service and range of beers. Food was gorgeous but not cheap.

Stopped in here by chance as they’re dog friendly and expected the food could be fine. Expectations totally blown out of the water. They pretty much do burgers and pizza and whooooah baby was it good. Holy balls. No photo as was too busy inhaling it like Kirby

Lovely relaxed pub - good food options on a small menu that knows what it does well - good selection of craft beers - and a chilled vibe. Sister pub to the Rickety Press in Jericho, and a lovely find for a quick dinner on Sunday evening!

Best pizza in Oxford, the selection of Dodo beers, ales and stouts are also very nice. Superb staff who are friendly and helpful. Nice gardens with sheltered and heated seating.

Great food, I would just say slightly over priced, if food was slightly cheaper I would be more of a regular. Pizza 11,50, burger 11 (without chips), chips 4 or 6 pounds. So about 20 a head with drinks, and I would say that is dear for a pub food outing. Great inside and nice vibe. Food deals - two burgers on a Monday for 5 (without chips) 5 pizza on another day, but only margarita or pizza with no tomato. Would recommend, good staff.

Had a nice cheeky pint of a cider I've never had or heard of. Slightly spicy but really nice. Reasonable price, friendly attentive bar person. Would definitely step through the doors of this pub again. Sometimes I feel dad that all the old pubs are being gentrified but when done well I thinks it's better than it shutting down. I hope the original locals agree?

The chicken burger was really good although on the weekends they only do them after 5pm so we had pizzas this time - also good but definitely wanted the burger! Now I know for next time The drinks were also great (margaritas and a strawberry mojito). The woman behind the bar was really friendly and helpful, and the garden outside is lovely. The food arrived quickly and the bathrooms are clean, no complaints at all ☺️

I've heard a lot about this place but honestly, I didn't get the experience that so many have told me about. You can't order drinks with your food you have to go to the bar, which sounds simple enough but this was a busy night, so it took 15-20 mins to get served at the bar. The food took easily an hour, maybe more. Then 2 minutes after it arrived we were told to leave soon because they were closing... The food was good but expensive, the service was slow and no tap water even when asked for. Meh. Underwhelming, I'm sure on very quiet days it would be fine. A bit of a shame considering others in the same group are usually very good.

Amazingly tasty pizza - seriously one of the best I've ever had. Run by Dodo pub company but restarted by Community fundraisers so couldn't praise it more highly. Also do tasty hot drinks and cakes from the wee cafe at the side. Only been inside once - good beer and the main feature is the external cafe and takeaway hatch. Really hope they prosper!

The decor inside is nice, but the beer garden is pretty basic and in front of the bus stop. Food looks good, and it's reasonably priced...the pizzas are super popular. Greatly appreciated as there's no many other places to have a drink/have some food in this area.

This is not a bad pub, but I don't think it's really aimed at me, I'm too old (50), if I was 20-40 I would enjoy it more. It has that slightly kitsch feel, you know bits of broken bicycles screwed to the wall and old books on shelves that nobody reads, that's not what they are meant for, sort of shabby chic (a la Slug and Lettuce).They have a range of good interesting beers and they are well kept. Their food is kind of standard pub fare, not exceptional but perfectly acceptable, burgers, pizzas and such, well executed. A bit loud for me with constant piped music. They have a beer garden, which is a plus, in which they host live music and movies at certain times. All in all it's o.k but I don't think it's for me, I'm too much of an old git. It is more aimed at a younger crowd, and in fairness there is a halls of residence just across the road, so that's not unreasonable.

Love this place!! I know the other two pubs of the same company and when the up in arms opened in my neighborhood I was so glad! Finally there's a reason to stay here with friends instead of moving always somewhere else! Pizza is amazing, probably one of the best in town, perfect napolitan style! The garden is lovely and perfectly suitable for events which are organised sometimes. The best thing are the music and the design!!

This place is legendary. Of course it would be as it's my local! They are friendly helpfull, do the best burgers + other food. And in the summer there is table tennis and other stuff to keep your brats entertained, whilst you enjoy a nice cold beer. Unless you are an ale drinker and prefer it luke warm....The variaty of beer they serve is amazing!

Absolutely top class. Take a second to talk to the bar folk as you order, they're a great bunch and have endless recommendations, it's worth trying them all! The food is exactly as it should be, big juicy burgers and fries with all the source you could desire. Even the vegan burger hits the spot perfectly. The pizzas are also top class if you're that way inclined. If you're umming and arring, just stop and get in the door, you won't regret it.

This is a very friendly pub. Can get quite crowded and the car park is not very big. Parking is not easy in the area. You can get a tasty pizza and other similar kinds of meals. The avocado side salad was very fresh and tasty. Has a beer garden. Also has a separate coffee shop attached where you can get a very good coffee and a pastry during the day.

Good pub in an area that has very little else. Staff could be quicker cleaning up and clearly the kitchen was annoyed with the slowness that the food was collected for service given the force and extended period that the service bell was being rung each time food was put on the pass. Food is generally very good but expect to pay fairly premium prices as a result and certain bits and pieces could definitely do with some attention: the pizza we had was delicious but soggy in the middle which isn't what you'd expect given the price and their much vaunted woodfired oven. Worth checking out if you're in the area.

I'm probably somewhat biased toward this place as I live nearby. But I definitely enjoy coming by for a pint. They have fine burgers too.

It’s good to see the place being well used. However, in the nice sunny days of which I hope we have many over the next few months, it’s not a good place for non-smokers or people going with children. All of the 15 tables in the back area have ash pots. I left, as did 2 couple with babies as the smoke from just 3 scattered people ruined the prospect of a nice lunch outside. Shame smoking tables could not be just a small area at the far back, as otherwise this area could be attractive as a daytime meeting place. For the moment, back to our own gardens until the winter.

Absolutely love this new gem in Oxford. We have always loved The Rusty Bicycle, so to have a new and improved sister pub open up even closer to our home was an absolute dream! The food is just as wonderful as The Rusty with mouth-wateringly juicy burgers and the best garlic mayo on the planet! The decor is so fun and the pub has a really nice feel overall. There are LOTS of tables of various sizes and plenty of outdoor seating too, some with heating lamps and some just in the large beer garden. Another perk, is the small (but very handy) car park at the front of the building! I think this will prove very handy for those coming from further afield and is pretty rare in Oxford! Bar staff and waiting staff were extremely friendly and efficient! We will be back (again and again!). We fully recommend a visit to The Up In Arms (especially on a Monday for #BurgerMonday reduced prices)!

Tasty burgers and pizza's. Ate a few times here while staying at the postgrad centre nearby. Only negative comment - the bun for the bacon and egg roll I had one morning tasted a bit stale, like they were using last nights burger buns. A fresh bun makes a big difference with a bne roll.

The Up in Arms has just superseded The Plough as Oxford’s newest old pub. It used to be called The Somerset, but closed down some years ago. It just reopened last week, run by the same friendly people who are at The Rusty Bicycle and The Ricketty Press. And very nice it is too. The food looked great. And happy hour from 5 to 7 means you can get a good pint of beer for £3. Shame they didn’t keep the old name and went for this rather lame one instead (I’ve heard the reason behind it) but fantastic to see another pub reopen in this town.

Newly renovated, this pub is making great strides to connect with local small business and holds many social events as well, like quiz nights, movie nights, etc. They offer freshly made pizza and burgers, and I look forward to giving those a try in the near future. I will update when I can!
