A lovely lunchtime meal with my mum. The menu had more than enough choice, all at a very reasonable price with good descriptions. Ordering was easy and both food and drink brought to the table quickly. Staff were friendly and attentive and definitely gave more of a restaurant type experience rather than chain pub. Facilities were clean and well looked after and parking ample. We will most definitely visit again.

We booked a table to celebrate mine and my granddaughter birthday When we arrived the table had been reserved for us. We sat down and studied the menu The crab do a selection of small plate meals for a very reasonable price so it was decided by our party to select all 10 + a repeat of 5 of the dishes And we requested if they could all arrive at the same time I suspect that the chef had raised eyebrows when he saw the order, but I have to say that the chef and staff carried it off superbly. The food was well presented and tasted delicious once again a very big thanks to the landlady Carol and all the staff at the Crab and Winkle

Visited the Crab and Winkle as a group on Father's Day and as always got a friendly greeting and lovely meal. The staff are always cheerful and Carol (the landlady) gives the pub a brill atmosphere especially when we go for drinks after choir and end up singing all our songs!

Given the price you pay for your food and the portions you receive is more than adequate. Speed of Service: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ On this particular day the speed of service was fine. No real issues here and the waiters were regularly checking for updates on drinks. Food Quality: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Overall quality of my food was extremely good. My mixed grill was cooked to my specification. Very flavourful and everything requested was there at first delivery to the table. Although some more ice cream would be nice with the Fudge Cake dessert. I personally feel it would complete it and compliment it well. Restaraunt Cleanliness: ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ The overall cleanliness of the store was okay. I have no real issues with the cleanliness. Staff were regularly cleaning tables and sanitising. AOB- I have no other business to add.

Greene King pub, so you kind of know what you’re getting (not a bad thing!). Beer is well kept (there’s a 10% discount if you’re a CAMRA member!) and it’s a friendly pub. Good food selection as well with traditional pub fayre.

As we were not far away from this establishment we decided to give it a go, due to a recent incident with a Greene King restaurant / accommodation they compensated me with credit to use on food and drink on another. Track and Trace is used via a code or by doing online they don't wrote details down one way system in place. Staff friendly and accommodating We were sat on a quite part of the pub everything was clean we had to go back to bar to order No chicken stripes as sold out - only 3 starters on lunchtime menu and one was sold out offered scampi on sharing platter to make up and halloumi fries 2x signature hunters chicken for main and 2x pint of orange juice / lemonade and lemonade / lime cordial overall bill £48 very good value. Food cooked well unfortunately forgot to take picture of starters but did of main Would recommend again

Very nice friendly pub. Sraff very attentive. Food although you don't get a lot is really nice and well priced. we have been for the last 2 Fridays and can not complain about any of it. It can get a little noisy at times so If you like a quite drink or meal it might not be for you still try it though as would highly recommend.

I go to the Crab and Winkle on a Monday because they hold a poker night there, I'd only gave 3 stars previously because I wasn't using all of the facilities they have to offer. The overall experience of the pub are great for company and maybe one day I might have a meal there.

Liked it a typical town pub of the 90s with a huge menu and lots of offers. You could eat two of you for a tenner from the menu. Huge selection. We had steaks beautifully cooked tasty too. Lovely sweet potato chips if a tad cool. Certainly popular and the service was excellent.

Food was ok, service was ok, prices spot on. Sharing sweet was amazing. Sitting within two foot of the next table made me covid twitchy. Shame as we won't go back. It has to be so hard for a business like this to cope with everything covid and the restrictions have thrown at them. The place was packed and every seat taken. I wish them all the luck in the world and hope they survive to fight another day. Unfortunately we are a little more concerned than most so it would seem. The only reason we didn't get up and go was because our hosts love this place.

The menu gave the option of wraps and toastie. There was an offer m-sat before 5pm which included a drink at a set price . It didn't state that the wraps and toastie were not available outside these times. Very disappointed, not child friendly, who gives a 1 year old a china plate! Stupid. No baby change facilities noticed. Probably none in the mens, so how would my son visit with his children on his own. Take all 3 (8,3&1) into the mens and lay them on the floor

Staff are friendly and food is usually good but last three or four times we find the cod is not like it used to be. It was absolutely delicious white plump cod before but now has shrunk and is not white. Not plump and flaky, seems like a different fish. Disappointed we have lost the best fish around. Still enjoy going there.

Excellent food and excellent service, in pleasant recently refurbished surroundings. Our family was well-catered for, parricularly my gluten-free diet - the nicest gammon I have ever tasted. My husband enjoyed his steak and kidney pie very much, and our grandson tucked into his scampi with gusto. Very good value for money.

I attended with a party of 7. We had to move and clean our own tables to suit our needs. It appeared that there were only two members of staff serving which meant a slight wait to place an order. Food was as expected for the price, however one meal was forgotten and only a £2 discount was given on a bill of about £60. I would have expected the missed meal to be free as I have had in other places. The pub has a nice environment and is clean and tidy. That minor incident wouldn't stop me from going again.

I found this public house a good venue to meet for lunch and coffee. The seating was excellent, adjacent to an outside window. The serving staff were friendly and there was not an intolerable wait for the food and drinks which was brought to the brought to the table by the same staff. Its a nice pub that is just off the A15. The atmosphere and the staff were always helpful and pleasant when I bought my dinner as I used to have lunch there daily before I moved permanently to Nottingham. Also it seems to be recently refurbished as the furniture and the bar looked freshly overhauled to me. A good place to stop for a break if you are passing by.

Been here in the past around 6 months ago and the roast dinner was amazing, was really looking forward to it today and unfortunately was really disappointed! Cheap but the vegetables were really hard and microwaved. The desserts were great though.

It seems like an ok pub, but this is the second time I've eaten there and, for all their excuses, both times it has been pretty much an unmitigated disaster. Direct quote from the manager, "We're not responsible for the portion sizes or what's on the menu." I did point out that since they were serving the food, they most certainly were responsible for putting inedible food on our table, and also, at the point of sale, for misrepresenting a light snack as a meal! Overcooked steaks, burned black chicken, salad so old it was composting (literally dried out on top and liquifying beneath), were only made worse by much of the menu being unavailable and one of the six of us having their order left off the ticket! The manager took the cost of the massively late main off the bill and suggested to us that, next time, if there was anything wrong with the steaks, we should send them back immediately. Next time? LOL!
