Easy to find, and easy to park. Upon entering we were greeted instantly and asked to sign into Track N Trace, and sanitise our hands before we were lead to our table. We were served our drinks very quickly, and place our food order straight after. The food didn't take long, with most of us going with the roast 😋. For pudding was Lemon Sorbet & Banana Butterscotch ice scream, which the portion was quiet small considering it was 31⁰c today... ROASTING!

Would have given 5 stars if our first choices were available from the menu, but in fairness it was a bit late. Staff were helpful, friendly and accommodating. Food was cooked really well (medium rare steak cooked just right) and plenty of it at very reasonable prices. Our small dog was allowed to stay with us in the bar and got treated to a small dish of squirty cream at the end of our meal. Not dog healthy but very dog friendly and she loved the service, as did we. :-)

Popped in because the Botolph was closed and had a pleasant surprise. We don't trust places that offer two meals for £8.99 usually but we initially just went for a drink. Plus, it was Mother's Day so we assumed there would be no tables available. Immediately, the lady behind the bar was warm & friendly, recommending a particular Gin for my wife and my Abbott's was perfect. After smelling the lovely roasts coming out of the kitchen, we decided to ask the restaurant lady if there was a table and she said she'd try to organise something. Only 5 minutes later we were shown to a table. Kylie was great as our waitress, she had a bubbly, confident air and left us to choose. When we ordered, my wife had been tempted by the lovely aroma of the roast and I chose to treat myself to a fillet steak. I was wary because it wasn't likely that many fillets were sold so I asked for rare as I expected it to be overcooked and love a juicy steak. We were again very pleasantly surprised by the speed with which we were served and the colossal size of the plateful of delicious roast dinner...my wife even left some and that NEVER happens!😂 My whole plateful looked lovely as I'd decided on ALL the extras, calamari was tasty and not chewy, prawn & scampi were piping hot and succulent & the steak was cooked to perfection...ALAS the cut was more like a braising than fillet steak and was interminably chewy. Such a sad thing to happen because it just shows the penny pinching meat buyers ruined it for the chef and the customer. Can't praise the staff more, especially young Kylie, but their management let them down BIG STYLE and, even though we will definitely go again I will never eat the steaks... HOWEVER, the shredded beef ends are TO DIE FOR!😋🤪🥰🙏

Even though it's surrounded by major roads, the garden is nice on a sunny day. Food was quick, lots of choice. But the tables weren't cleared at all and I had to ask a couple of times for it to be done. Overall a good experience though.

Not the best dining experience we have had, had hunters chicken but the chicken breast was tiny, also my friend had gammon pineapple and egg but couldn't eat the pineapple as rather than the usual pineapple ring it was a long vertical slice of pineapple with the spikey outer skin still attached it was hard and not easy to eat and was cold, my friend left it in the end. Not really a negative review more just a suggestion to bring back the pineapple ring lol much more edible maybe not as posh looking but much nicer to eat.

Disappointing. Old speckled Hen ran out as my pint was being poured... That's unfortunate. But both the rump steaks we had were very chewy and lacked flavour and a bit gristly, not up to the standard of 30 day aged Aberdeen Angus in my opinion.

This was the first time visiting this pub in Peterborough. Good parking and the food was delicious, and so reasonably priced. Lovely friendly staff too, the place was busy, as it is very popular and I can understand why. Lots of seating for all size of parties, but would advise to pre-book if there are a lot of you. Thank Goodness for this pub. A local eatery had let us down but this pub saved the day. The process is that you choose your table and go up and order and pay for your food. The mini mixed grill was lovely. The gammon was tender. The service was quick.

Recently refurbished by Greene King and it is a huge improvement. The food is much as you would expect from a chain but there are some surprises in the menu which lift it to a slightly higher plain. Staff are helpful and friendly. We will be back.

The pub is looking so much better with its refurb! Food is good value for money on their lunch menu. I find often on lunch menus you get half the food but this is not the case with Gordon arms and was a very tasty steak!

Sadly was a bit of a let down, the food was overcooked, I had a mini grill the chicken was dry and the gammon was like leather. I asked for the gravy and it was cold. My sisters salmon was overcooked. No milk for coffee or custard. On the good side the waiting staff were very good and run off their feet! I'm sorry to give this report, just hope it improves.

Last time I visited this place was 20 year ago until yesterday. Not sure where to start really. Ordered the pork n apple roast. Said half baked apple on menu. I only got a quarter. The crackerling was deep fried skin strips. The mash potatoes was powdered instant rubbish. The roast potatoes was the frozen type n had no crispness at all. The side order of coliflower cheese was watery. Will I go again HELL NO CLOSE IT DOWN PULL IT DOWN N BUILD HOUSES ON SITE. DONT every go here if you want good food.

We have visited the Gordon Arms on many occasions as the quality of food, service, price/value is amazing! Since our visit after the lockdown, we have never felt so safe eating in a restaurant (We have visited many). The whole experience was fantastic, staff were friendly and attentive (socially distanced) The food was delicious and served quickly! The breaded mushrooms are my favourite, I highly recommend. A very relaxing and enjoyable experience, which is hard to find at the moment! Also the value is great, we were unable to visit on Monday-Wednesday 50% off but we found it still very good value. We cant wait to return!

We visited the Gordon Arms for a meal and drinks with family and i must say we were very impressed with the service and food. The whole experience felt very safe with all the measures they have in place. Tbe staff are amazing and very friendly and all wearing face masks or shields. The food was fantastic and well cooked. They are also supporting Macmillain, a very worthy charity which is very close to our hearts. Great place and well worth a visit.

There was a problem with mine as my friend didn't get my order quite right but the meal was taken away by the staff member and brought out exactly as I had requested it to be within a few minutes. Went for a meal here after a relaxing day at Orton Hall spa. When we arrived the restaurant was dead, was being seated and the gentleman wanted to put us right next to another couple who was enjoying a meal so asked If I could move table (If it was busy would understand) he eventually allowed us to sit somewhere else. Dropped in for lunch. About 50% full by 1300. The young front of house staff were polite and attentive. For a chain restaurant the menu was pretty typical but we decided to make it the main meal of the day so I went for the mixed grill and my wife had a dipping steak. It turned out to be the Best chain restaurant meal we have eaten in a long time. Cooked to perfection and well presented. Being a Greene King pub it meant Abbots and IPA was on draught. The wait for the meal was far to short. £36.00 for two mains and a couple of drinks each was very reasonable when compared to other chain restaurants we have been in recently. Overall - Excellent lunch - we will be back. Well done.

Roast beef, plenty of it, and as tender as could be, with more than enough roast potatoes and veg. and if course Yorkshire pudding! Went in on a Sunday afternoon and TBH, was surprised how quiet it was. No problem getting a table. They were out of pork for the carvery, but not really a big deal. Nice variety in food on the menu. Service was excellent. We had three courses and a couple of soft drinks, which came to just over £52. Food was superb and very tasty.

Always had a brilliant time at the Gordon Arms. Regularly visit here and never disappointed- the staff are friendly and food is always great. Since the COVID19 pandemic, i feel like this place has the most safety measures in place in comparison to other places I have been to including face coverings for all the staff which most places do not have. I really feel at ease knowing they have plenty in place and i will be returning as a result! Thank you Gordon Arms!

Steaks cook just as we had ordered, additional veg brought out and puds were so good second helping was ordered with espresso :-) Our waitresses were Cailin and Kylie who was able to take the banter dished up by my brother. Greene King owned, nice menu, very attentive and friendly service. Food selection good and reasonably priced. Only given 4* as I was somewhat stunned when I was charged £5 for a pint of Brewdog IPA. Otherwise, nice ambience and all in all a very nice experience, will just stick to regular IPA next time and I'm sure it will be able to make it a 5* experience.

I go here quite regularly so have a reasonably experience. Booking a table is easy if you so wish and on occasion when I have booked one it's worked out all right. The menu has been pared down recently and there is now a specials sheet which is useful. The reason 4 stars instead of 5? There have been occasions where the food has been less than expected. Children's cottage pie for example on one occasion was exceptional, the next had a fair amount of gristle. If the quality stayed the same it would be excellent.

Made a booking today for 5 people. Upon entry the staff was very polite and asked us if we had a booking and could we please use the hand sanitizer on the wall. We was then escorted to our table via there one route system. During this the staff identified the exits and toilets on the way. When we got to our table we had our menu handed to us. A couple of minutes later the lady returned for our drinks order. Then about 10 minutes later she came back for the food order. The food was exceptional. I had the large fish and chips, this was greasy and fresh. 2 8oz stakes that was done to perfection and 2 Sunday diners. All of the food was cooked really well that I and everyone I was with enjoyed it. The cleanliness of the pub and restaurant area was immaculate and all staff was following the goverments guidelines. Eg all had face shields or masks on, cleaning tables. I would highly recommend this place to anyone for a family meal or drinks even during Covid-19 . 5* To the team here keep up the good work

As a group of 4 friends we chose to dine at The Gordon Arms on Tuesday evening. Their covid measures are great and it makes you feel they are taking this all in their stride. We were greeted by Dan at the door, who explained how everything worked and we decided on a table in the bar area where we used the Greeneking App, as recommended to by Dan. After our drinks arrived promptly we ordered our food, and our cutlery and sauces we requested were brought to the table. The food was fantastic and well cooked, especially my steak and chicken fajitas. Overall it was a great experience in these strange times and we will definitely be using the Gordon Arms in the future. Well done Gordon Arms 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

Its alright. Well stocked bar with Verity of drinks at an average price. Food is well priced but unfortunately the quality reflects this. They ask you how you'd like the stake cooking then give you it well done regardless of how you asked for it. Chicken is made of rubber as well. As for the staffing, they were polite enough but we ordered all together as a table and all the food came out at different times. As much as 30 mins between the first plate landing and the last person getting their food. To make it worse the kids meals were some of the last to come out leaving the kids moaning and upset that others were eating and their food still hadn't come. As I say cheap meal out but you get what you pay for.

Visited Saturday 13th Oct. Wasn't impressed with food. The Mac cheese had stringy red onion throughout (not mentioned on menu) my husband's Hunters chicken was over cooked and the sauce had a skin on. Presentation of both meals was disappointing. Since the changeover, deco is lovely but we didn't go in there to eat the furniture! Friendly staff but you need good food to be happy with the service. 👎 I'm afraid.

Great place you get a good meal at great prices. It's not amazing amazing but pub classics all the way. I prefer visiting instead of ordering takeaway food... this option ends up being much much cheaper and plus it gets us out of the house. Service is also good here and very friendly. Always worth a visit.

Mixed Grill VERY disappointing! Out of all the meat, only the Gammon and Sausages were nice. Steak, Chicken, and whatever the other meats were all tasted the same and were so dry! Chips weren't nice either. Only redemption was that the other meals had by the people I was with were nice. Hunters Chicken looked great and my Grandad loved it. Tikka Masala was nice. The Steak was good, too (just not when in a mixed grill for some reason). This was the 1st time going since the Menu etc changed last year (I think it was) and doubtful I'll be back. :(

Great pub for food. We've been twice and the last time was Sunday lunchtime at 1pm. It was very busy and we had to wait 10 mins or so to find a table to fit 4 adults and 2 children. Probably best to ring and reserve. The food was substantial and very reasonably priced. Service was good and got food for 6 within 15 mins or so. Only let down was we asked for a gluten-free all-day breakfast and they put ordinary sausages and black pudding. They changed the sausages but only because we noticed.

This was our first visit to the Gordon Arms, and it was quite disappointing. We ordered the sharing starter of Nachos, but there was hardly any cheese on top and they were quite cold. The main courses came out straight away, so we wondered if the starter came out late, hence being cold, and the mains so quickly. The steak was ok, but the outside was burnt in places so it became a little dry. The second meal (steak and ribs) was better, but again the steak was a little charred on the outside, but thankfully less dry. Overall, not sure if we would return based in the meal and overall price.

Dont get a big breakfast with three because you will only get a normal breakfast according to their menu which say the normal you get two pieces of bacon however the large one which is what I got says you are supposed to get three I still only got two. Not terribly impressed. 2 people had a gormet burger and the burger on both was very overcooked and very dry. I would go as far as to say that, in my opinion, it was already cooked and on the side waiting for an order. The burger let the whole meal down. Another person in our party had the 'Go lightly Chicken burger' (no bun! so not sure why its described as a burger). The chicken was also very, very dry and very difficult to cut (In defence of the Gorden Arms they did offer a free sweet to compensate for this but its a shame it was like it to start with). Another person had Hunters chicken and that was good.

Gordon Arms had a refurb in March and it is so nice warm and relaxing atmosphere, staff are very friendly, nothing is too m7ch trouble for them, even for the fussy eaters at the table , there was 5 in our party we had for starters chicken liver pate x 2, such nice presentation and great flavour, stilton and peppercorn mushrooms, and nachos to share, mains mixed grill x2 , scamp and chips , Gannon and chips with a quarter of a pineapple, and an Indian banquet, chicken tikka masala. Can not fault the food at all.

Not the 'best' pub in the area, not the 'best' food around, but decent car park, centrally located, efficient staff... ....and where else can you feed 8x incl drinks for under £100!
