Great pub with an amazing array of drinks to suit all tastes and budgets. The staff are wonderful, cheerful, professional and so very accommodating. It's just a shame that I live 50 miles away now but I like to try and get back once a month if I can.

For a quick lunch or a cooked breakfast, the price is reasonable. We go there on a regular basis when riding our bikes. It is a good restaurant for breakfast, but skip the coffee. This may not be the place to go if you're looking for a decent cup of coffee. Like many Weatherspoon chains this branch also need updating and a good clean. At least both the hot drink machines are working.

I've used Wetherspoon outlets for years and been to this one a number of times. Usually I am well pleased with the service, price and quality of the food, however on my recent visit to The George the four members of my party were all disappointed. Each of us mulled over the extensive menu and once decided, went to the bar to order. Not one of our choices were available as was the garlic bread. We then had to go back to the table and rethink our meal. Service was still good as was the price but at only 12.15 it was poor show to have so much unavailable from the menu. I hope this is a one off.

I have been to many Wetherspoons. When asked which is my favourite, unhesitatingly say this one. Close second is the Whalebone. It's funny that both of these are in the same part of the country. I am not from this way as I travel for work. Always a pleasant welcome here.

It's a spoons. Staff aren't fussed you're coming or going, it smells and there are some strange/rowdy people inside. The toilets aren't too bad, drinks are cheap and a massive variety. Service is usually fairly speedy. Food is average at most but reasonably priced for what you get.

Just got back from a lovely night out in The George as always but this time was made extra special from some brilliant service from the waitress that served me and my parents. She was always smiling and chatty. We were on table 50, ordered two burgers and a curry (which my dad might have slightly burned his hands on, not her fault she did warn him haha). She even cleared our plates away once we were finished earing, which is a rarity these days! Hopefully this gets to the right girl so she gets given some praise for making this job look easy. Don't know what her name was but she had long brunette hair and a lovely smile.

As Wetherspoons go, this is one of the more nice ones. I regularly go here for breakfast when in the area and it never disappoints. The food is always nice and the staff friendly. I don't know what it is like in the evening but I give the breakfast a well deserved thumbs up.

Tables not cleared quickly - waiters/waitresses bring out food then go back empty handed even though tables need clearing. Their g/f menu consists of - if its got gluten in it, don't order that part of the meal. Their chips are coated with wheat flour - why not use ones coated with cornflour? Their baked spuds are so well cooked they are slimy inside, so not an attractive substitute for chips. That said, if you find something you can eat, you don't go away hungry.

First up, it's a Wetherspoons. So its busy, cheap and has what you expect. Been in more than several times and always find it a little understaffed on the bar. Saying that, the food always comes out hot and fairly quickly so they must be staffed ok behind the scenes. Parking is Ok. Normally have to park across the road but it's a quite market town so not a problem. Example: 3 starters for a tenner. Each main course around £8 and some even come with a pint. Large choice on the menu too. You pay for what you get and for what I want it for its alright.

The George is again, sadly now a Wetherspoons but everything I said about The Hippodrome in March applies here. Cheap, hit and miss food. Kids can be noisy and are often left to run around the pub on busy days (so just avoid busy days really). Friendly staff and a nice drive to Whittlesey from March for a cheap afternoon out.
