Food absolutely excellent, good beer, nice airy pub with great beer garden & a pool table & to top it off very efficient staff. Altogether a very enjoyable experience.

Amazing Thai food! We came for Sunday lunch expecting a roast dinner, but found the restaurant part of the pub had recently changed hands and is now ‘Taste of Thailand’. We were initially confused as their website has not been updated yet, but we’re delighted in the end as the food was outstanding. Beautifully made, freshly prepared, and utterly delicious with just the right amount of heat. Service was good and very friendly and the head chef came out to chat with us after our meal. We found out they had only been running 5 days, but you wouldn’t have known it from the quality of the food that came out. I cannot recommended it enough!

Attended a gig by P Town Funk at this place, who were fantastic. The pub itself is really cosy and the owners are fabulous. Only tried a little food and it was good, but didn't eat probably so can't comment. Bar prices very reasonable, however will take one star off as it got quite hot inside ( no Aircon?) and drink selection was rather limited

We went today for the first time while on our way back from Peterborough, we had a flat tyre and needed help, everyone was so helpful and checked there cars to see if they had what we needed change the tyre , we sat and had food and drinks while waiting for RAC then one of the gentleman has what we needed which was brilliant plus RAC arrived…. We couldn’t believe how everyone was so friendly and couldn’t do enough to help us and made us feel so welcome , what could of been so stressful wasn’t due to you all thank you again we will definitely be coming back … Terry & Lynsey

Great Sunday lunch. There was a good choice of tasty roasts together with a select few main meals. Good range to suit all tastes. Clean plates all round. Waiter and waitresses were attentive and kept re-ordering drinks. We are early in the service and it was getting quite busy by the time we finished. I would suggest booking in advance

The changes made to the pub over the last 12 months have been fantastic but the pub does need to move forward and not go back to the way it was before these changes took place. Had Sunday lunch here yesterday and the food is still very good. Fingers crossed that the menu that has been in operation for the last few months is kept because the food is much better quality now than it ever was before. The pool table has been moved back into the restaurant area. In my view a bad decision. It was previously a lovely area to sit and have lunch but having your lunch disrupted by kids arguing over a pool table isn't really what you want when you come out for a meal. It makes the atmosphere in that area less appealing and the new clientele that have enjoyed coming to the pub over the last year could be put off. The volume on the TV in the restaurant area ought to be turned down or muted whilst people are eating in the restaurant. I went in there to eat a meal and catch up with family. Not to watch sports. I would sit in the bar if I wanted to do that. Tables in the restaurant need to be dressed and menu's either on the tables or handed out once people get seated. It looks more professional even if you are only serving Sunday lunch. I can already see old habits creeping back in and it would be a shame to let the pub slip again. It is more important to appeal to the wider community rather than trying to please a select few & the people who came in and turned the place around did a great job at attracting new people and encouraging old customers back to the pub. It would be a shame for their hard work to be in vein.

Went for a meal here on 5th December, a day after they reopened following what appears to have been a nightmare year for the owners. First coronavirus and then a flooding! Have to say that the food was absolutely superb. We had the Tagliatelle and Classic Beef Burger as mains and would recommend both. The homemade chips were lovely! Would also highly recommend the brownie for desert! Venue was also very well organised with the coronavirus restrictions in please. Clear instructions when walking in with hand sanitizer and NHS app check in. Also a really good app ordering system in place which worked without a hitch. Also a shout out to the staff who were friendly and efficient. We will be returning!

There is a better atmosphere here than there used to be, most probably because there's been a change of ownership. Maybe some of the old regulars, might even be tempted to go back & give it another go. I do hope so, because it used to be a great local pub. The food is much improved, but the time we were kept waiting for it wasn't really acceptable, 1 hr.! For a salmon salad & a lasagne.

Went on a Groupon deal, it was brilliant the crispy pork belly was delicious but the crispy bit failed this time, I was very much looking forward to the crackling as it had been hyped up to me, so that was slightly disappointing. The Chief specially made cheddar mash for us which was very nice. The brownie and ice cream was probably one of the best I've had for a long time! The restaurant was lovely, looked smart and tidy, nice setting. Would recommend and have bought another Groupon !
