The food is DELICIOUS and very filling 😋, if you are dinning with friends or more than 2 people it's worth trying the small plates as a share 3 for £8.99 or 5 plates for £11.99. The service was very quick and we didn't have to wait long at all to get our food. Very pleasant and nice place to eat

Sports bar so expect it to be busy when the footballs on. Walked in on a drizzly day got served a pint pronto style and welcomed with a smile. The venue looks tired in places but it’s location is good. Food looks better than spoons 🤷‍♂️

Popped in for a quick bite to eat and was not disappointed. Plenty of seating, greeted warmly by staff and service was quick. Good selection of food available which was tasty and very good value for money. Will definitely be returning when next in town.

Came here for the first time having lived in Plymouth for a number of years. Very pleasantly surprised! It was a little smaller than I imagined but plenty of space to sit down and watch the women's Euros final. Its a great place to watch football with TV screens plastered all around the venue. There's a wide range of drinks, and it was really cheap too. Would recommend.

The usual atmosphere from a Whetherspoons, particularly great food, piping hot and quickly served. One portion of chips were slightly underdone but the 5 small plates for £12 a definite winner. Beware the hot wings are definitely 🔥

Visited for lunch today 21/10/22 excellent value 2 meals for £11 49 . I had the fish and chips with mushy peas the batter and fish itself was beautifully cooked and very tasty . My daughter had the gammon egg and chips which she also really enjoyed. The Brass Monkey offer a wide selection of drinks ,my choice of the day was a Mango Lilys although all the usual favourites Guinness etc along with spirits are available. The Brass Monkey is a great choice either for a meal or a quick drink the staff are always friendly and Carol and Nicola will be quick to attend to your every need

I booked a table for myself and my mum and we had a yummy cocktail each and the food was very tasty and service was very quick and the staff really friendly. The drinks and food were also reasonably priced.I've booked a table for 3 for November for my birthday too and would definitely recommend to others to dine here.

Great bar. Back in 2002 it used to be Hogshead which is when I last visited with Gravy, Comedy mike and Tools. It was Tools stag doo. After a few fosters we left the bar and picked tools up and dropped him. He banged his head on the bus shelter outside which resulted in a small cut to his head. He Kung Fu kicked Comedy, got in a taxi and went to hospital. We all went to Zanzibar and none of us ever saw him again. Great memories.

Was able to walk in and get a table for food and drinks straightaway, although usually would have needed to book before 15:00. The food was nice and the portion sizes were just right for us. Only negative was that we were given the wrong sides. Covid controls were suitable without being oppressive and ruining the atmosphere.

I've been coming to the brass monkey for years on a regular basis. The food is always amazing and great value for money. The 241 cocktails are so GOOD!!! £6.49 for 2 long islands?! Amazing 😁 great atmosphere on a Saturday night and great for lunch midweek 🤗 staff are always friendly and attentive 100% worth checking out

A while ago I left a negative review over some buffalo wings which were not very nice. This visit however more than made up for that. I tried the Carolina reaper wings.....wow! I thought I could eat any level of spiciness, I only managed three wings but they were perfect. I also had their fish and chips, this was seriously good and ranks in the top five I have ever eaten (and I'm 78) Plymouth born and bred. My wife had two starters which she said were delicious, thank you Brass Monkey, we will be back

This is a great place for food and drink on a daily basis with great prices and menu selection. Also good for sports lovers with live sport and also those who like to sing and dance there is a karaoke night. The staff are very friendly and the management are some of the best in Plymouth

Pleasant pub & bar staff, serving a wide range of drinks & food as expected. Had Scampi, chips & mushy peas which was served promptly by a smiling lady, who also later asked if all was ok. Food was hot, tasty & reasonable in cost. Pub is quite large with many tables although would benefit from a few little booths, for those preferring secluded seating. (Did not use toilets so cannot comment if accessible to wheelchair users although entrance wide enough & suitable for such.) Venue is within a shopping high street with no onsite parking however plenty of nearby carparks can be used. Pub could be cleaner & is a little dark, which could be improved with a fresh coat of paint. Would rather gambling machines & large screen televisions not be on site, as detest these & can be very intrusive.

Well where do we start the cocktails were terrible and not made to order the guy disappeared off and came back with what can only be described as watered down ribena and the food was not great the bread baguette was stodgy and uncooked the lettuce was all stodgy and awful the only thing that saved it was the staff themselves they were great

Came down to visit my family in Plymouth for a couple of days and my mum brought me to the Brass Monkey for some food and drink. I was really impressed with all the offers they had available from the 2-4-1 cocktails that's we went for to the 5 small plates for 11.99. All the staff were really polite and friendly especially our server who I believed to be the manager Nicky

It's cheap, the experience is as expected. Certainly nothing exceptional about it but for the price it's a decent enough place. Full English breakfast for two was delivered quickly and was ok. It's often quite busy and I'm pretty sure some people are very regular drinkers due to the low prices.

Have been coming here every morning before work for breakfast for months now and the food is 100 × better than anywhere else in Plymouth. All the staff are nice but especially Donna, Carol and nik who go above and beyond for us and know exactly what we have and always have it ready for us when we arrive. (Table 48 lol)

Ok so....clean tidy, social distancing and an app to register before you enter etc etc... Taken to a table a d we order drinks from one end of the bar and they bring them over to you. Staff were friendly and it wasnt to busy. They have berry, pear and original rattler so I was happy. Came back again today, 13/10/22. Cocktails are 2 for 1 and have to be the best and cheapest in town. The food is always fresh hot and delicious. Staff are lovely and the Sun shines right through the windows too. Bliss.

Excellent. We turned up with no booking but the friendly guy on the door was very accommodating and managed to get us a table for two families, total 4 adults and 3 kids. All the staff were friendly and professional. The food, though not fine dining was excellent and served quickly. The kids were delighted and cleared their plates as did we. The price of a Latte is grossly overpriced at £3-49, absolutely disgraceful, Wetherspoons only charge £1-20, and you can have unlimited mugs of Latte. I will not be having a Latte in this venue anytime soon.

Have to mention our visit to a regular venue for us today. Firstly the covid set up is ideal. Reason for a review is one of the staff. David was a breath of fresh air, couldn't help enough and had us weighed off in minutes, which led to banter between us. It made an excellent change to standard service. Oh, and in case there is more than one David, it was the six foot four David.

Beer in here isn't brilliant, seems to be more lager boys than beer drinkers. Constant loud music. Had scampi and chips which was quite nice, but peas were not even warm. Fish and chips are greasy, so watch out for that one. Not the place for a reasonably quite meal.

Alot like a Weatherspoons with a few variations. The menu is only slightly different but prices are close enough. Most pub classics are available And food is prepared quickly. Never had a bad meal at this place. Wide selection of drinks and a busy bar. Almost always playing sports on the TV. Guaranteed to be a good spot during any big sporting events. The bar is an open plan so its spacious and WiFi is good. Sometimes a little messy and the bar is as sticky as megatape. Besides that it's a good place to go with friends.
