Absolutely Delicious. Salumi never ceases to amaze me with the quality & standard to their dishes. Today we visited as a cheeky treat lunch and we we’re not disappointed. Husband and I booked a table at this cute cosy bar restaurant for our Sunday roast and when the portions came it really didn't look a lot for the money you pay per person. When you put everything on your plate it was just the right amount of food to fill you up! The food was delicious and staff were very friendly and welcoming. Took French relatives there one evening in early September. I have an almost encyclopedic knowledge of restaurants in Devon and Cornwall. But we are so lucky to have Salumi on our doorstep. In fact, my hobby is chasing Michelin stars across the world. But this little ex-pub offers the most outstanding food at an extraordinary price. Fantastic Sunday roasts, and an imaginative superb and locally sourced ingredients throughout the week. I can't help but keep going there. Service is consistently phenomenal too.

Popped in for Sunday dinner after reading the reviews and wasn't disappointed. The food was great, the service was spot on and the atmosphere was really relaxing. I particularly liked how it's sectioned off into several smaller areas, keeping things quite intimate. I went at lunchtime, but plan to go back one evening as it looks like the lighting will make things really subdued and relaxing. All in all, a great little find! **Edit** - a few years later and it's still great food and still great service!

Excellent bistro type eatery! The BBQ in the garden in summer is excellent as well. Love eating here, beer and wine is also excellent, the ale is well kept, it’s not hard to get people out for lunch or dinner when you mention Salumi!

Disappointing this time. I have been to Salumi, and the original Rock Salt, many times over the past years and generally had a very enjoyable meal. I had seen the burgers rolling out and always thought that they looked good so thought I would give it a try this time. On arrival, all looked good but the main item/burger was overcooked and dry! The whole dish was somewhat uninspiring particularly considering the £18.00 price tab (w/chips). Not sure what happened, but was not impressed.

We have been to Salumi a number of times and have always had excellent service and excellent food. Recently we were served by “Lil jack“ he took amazing care of us, he was very attentive and was very genuine in doing so. (Thanks Lil jack to you and yours Moms bol**cks) All of the food served was fresh and hot and tasted great. i always leave very satisfied but not over bloated. Salumi is my go to for food in Plymouth and I would recommend it to anyone. Only thing i would like changed is the menu online needs to reflect the menu when you get there

Superb. this is the third time we have eaten here when we visit our friends in Plymouth. The food is very good and the service knowledgeable and helpful. on one occasion we had fish ( Hake ) and chips. One of the best fish and chips I’ve ever had. The mushy peas and tartar sauce home-made and tasty. The Arranchini starter is a particular favourite. The Nduja is lovely ingredient. Last week I had pork belly curry and loved it. We would highly recommend this restaurant.

A top eatery in Plymouth. Sister venue to the superb Rock Salt. Salumi is a great venue for both eating and drinks. Very COVID secure during these difficult changeable times. Excellent choice off of the menu and the staff are great at welcoming and offering advice. Chef Dave Jenkins has some fantastic dishes and often gets 'it right'. I started with scotch egg, my partner the terrine, both were faultless. Mains we had duck leg and I had bacon chop with fat chips and mustard mayo, superb. Both opted for cheesecake for pud, surprisingly light and with pear sorbet was a great finish. Cost is higher than standard places but Salumi is far better than standard. You won't be disappointed.

Went to the Salumi for the first time and the food and wine was amazing, much higher standard than any pub I've been in for a while. Unfortunately our waiter who at first was friendly and helpful turned into an pushy salesman who tried to upsell us at every turn.

We had pork with croquet and pork crackling, smoked grilled salmon with picked salad on a flat bread. On a side we hand parmesan and truffle fries and kimchi slaw. All that was delicious! Our girl had Mac and cheese which was a bit bland for her taste. Service was excellent, a man ( I guess a manager, as he didn't wear white shirt and apron) who served us, recommend drinks, and made a special mocktail for our girl. He also made some recommendations from the dinner manu and talked about our choices. What was quite unique experience. Definitely 5 stars that day. After that nice meal and service we decided to come back. We ordered one of the boards which was ok, but kids pizza looked like it was just a bit of ketchup and cheese on top of tortilla wrap, and taste exactly like that. This time we got thick cut chips with parmesan and NO truffle. Slaw, didn't taste kimchi and it's wasn't spicy at all. We ask waitress if they could make a pink mocktail for our little girl. It wasn't pink and half of the short glass £8 ! Service was very far from what we received last time. Were checked once, when they brought the bill. So for this time very stretched 2 stars. Very big disappointment.

We have been to Salumi lots of times, as it’s the best roast dinner in Plymouth and probably Devon! The food is delightful whether it’s a roast or from the normal menu everything is superb. The service is as top notch as the food! All the staff are great! Especially the young lad I think he is a manager but he knows everything about the food! What’s in it and can’t tell you how it tastes to a T. We can wait to go to the pan Asia event and the Latin night. Thank you guys for always looking after us and exceeding on the food every time! Spectacular food, worthy of a special occasion. Our waiter Jack was attentive, knowledgeable, and made our evening truly special. Had a delicious steak burger, and the cocktails were supreme. Place is lovely. Staff were fantastic but nowhere and I mean nowhere should be charging £28 for rump steak. It was an ok steak but nothing special, a little chewy in places. Would much rather spend that sort of money on a ribeye. The chips were dark brown and over done in my eyes. The spiced chicken wings had a sauce on them that made them feel slimy, wasn’t a fan. Would I go there again??? Not by choice, there are other places that are a lot cheaper with better food in my opinion.

The menu was good and varied. We only went for a main (burger + chips and mushroom risotto) which we so enjoyed we ordered desserts too! With drinks on top, it was £61 for both of us. Very friendly and helpful waiting staff. Would recommend!

This restaurant is all about experience. The food is mouthwatering and prepared with such attention to detail and skill that your mouth pops with explosions of flavour with every fork full. The staff are lovely and are rightly proud of their unique restaurant. Ask them how the delicious food is prepared and you get a whole story of the journey from field and sea to plate. We ate here for 4 days in a row sampling between us almost every dish on the menu. Not one disappointed us. This is what a dining experience should be. Relaxed great atmosphere interesting dishes and friendly knowledgeable staff. And the bar menu lives up to the food too. Cant wait to go back. This has to be by far the best restaurant and bar in Plymouth.

Visit this excellent venue frequently when with family, for it's pleasant/friendly staff, superb decor, relaxing music & unique food. All food is locally sourced which owners proudly display on board; clever idea to promote other local businesses. Food is beautifully presented offering superb menu, from light bites to a great variety of meals. (Shared a light bites platter of sourdough bread/rustic seeded mini cobs & balsamic vinegar dipping oil, mini chorizo sausages with humous, rigatoni in a delicate cheese sauce, olives, rustic bread with pesto & parmesan; all simply delicious.) Venue has both inside seating (with small tables /comfy chairs around bar & larger tables for bigger groups on upper level) & outside garden, all of which are tastefully furnished. Toilets (which I imagine reflect kitchen) are spotlessly clean & clearly checked regularly. Highly recommend. (Apologies, didn't check if wheelchair accessible).

Great place. The decor, layout and seating arrangements are excellent. There is ambient, low-level music playing whilst the very friendly and efficient waiters tend to you. Only had a drink there but the menu looks good (tiny bit pricey but probably for a reason) and (apparently) the chef is sooper dooper. Really lovely place to eat in, eat on the terraced area (partly covered with (decorated) awnings) or simply have a drink (Camden Pale Ale)

Such nice food! The Bacon Chop was so tasty, honestly would come back just to have this. We came down to have a Sunday Roast but didn't realize they stop serving these after 5pm, so was a bit disappointed. Luckily we were recommended this meal as a substitute to the pork loin and weren't disappointed. Cooked perfectly and alongside the triple cooked chips, it was great.

My wife and I at last ate at Salumi, I say at last because we have been meaning to do just that since before Covid, I so wish we had eaten there before because we would have been repeat customers over the last two years when able. We couldn’t have asked for more, the service, the food, the ambience & the excellent music, and that was on a very busy Saturday evening. We were not rushed in any way, though I’m sure they would have liked our table as they were having to refuse people constantly who hadn’t booked. We will be back to coin a phrase.

Didn't eat there but wished I had... trays of delicious looking grub passed by as I slurped a swift pint of Camden Pale before going on to watch the Kooks (and the brilliant Snuts). Meantime, what was a dingy old boozer is a beautifully designed restaurant/bar, perfect for pre-event drinks and eats before heading in to The Pavilions, opposite. (Actually give your tickets away and just stay in the bar for the night). Good beer and wine selection - and staff who look and act the part in making you feel... well, a little bit special. A true diamond in the rough of Plymouth.

If you don't try the salt and vinegar doughnuts, then you have truly missed out on a fantastic experience! Every time we get a takeaway roast from Salumi we always have to wait around 30 minutes longer than the time they say we can have our food. They are rarely apologetic. The food is great (hence the repeat orders), but their time management and customer service is awful.

I looked at the menus online and was quite excited by the food. Unfortunately due to the government offer we could only book an afternoon slot at 2pm. On arrival I was shocked to be handed a brunch menu with minimal choices. There were no starters and only three deserts, one of which had sold out. I wish I was informed of the reduced BRUNCH menu while booking online, as I would have looked elsewhere or booked a much earlier slot. The food was ok, nothing special. The service and staff were very good.

My husband and I ate at their sister company rock salt a few weeks before and loved it, so when we were looking for a new place to try on our date night this was just the place! We booked a table as they had a special bbq event on and didn't want to miss out. The staff were friendly and very attentive, as I mentioned I was pregnant so went and checked each of the meals to ensure that there was no ingredients that I couldn't have. Each course was delicious and presented amazingly and much larger portions than I was expecting for a "decent" restaurant. My husband can't stop telling people about how amazing it wasn't and we will definitely be back!

We just came to Plymouth to collect something and decided to stay overnight to ease the driving. Came across Salumi via google nearby and booked. WOW! What a find. We have both been able to try foods we’ve never had before (venison carpaccio for me and stone bass for my wife) and these and everything we’ve tried is absolutely delicious. No wonder the chef had won a major prize this year. This is truly wonderful food in beautiful surroundings with excellent, attentive but not intrusive staff at reasonable prices. I don’t review usually unless something is super bad or super good. This is fantastically good.
