We went for lunch on Saturday, it was really busy but we found a table on the second floor. Staff: friendly and helpful Time waiting: it was 40 min since we ordered but the manager told to us we will have to wait, so it was ok, well handled. Environment: loud and noisy 😂but good vibes Food: I ordered the beyond burger that it was ok My fiancée ordered the big double, and he just loved it! Super tasty and juicy. He also ordered Mac and cheese, he was in shock how good it was! Price: really good, we spent 13,75 each as we took the lunch deal so the food came with drinks and chips.

Came to the bank for some food after the Plymouth scale model show at the guildhall. Managed to grab a spare table and ordered food. Yes there was a wait but with how busy the place is, I wasnt complaining. Food came out, great meal, great drinks. Want to thank the bar and kitchen staff for a lovely time again. Cheers guys

Good reasonably priced grub in a usually quiet setting. You know what your getting. We have been often having a drink and a bite after work one Fridays. The bank is central enough and cheap enough for everyone's needs and so it has become a bit of a favourite. Mostly thanks to me I think. I think of it a quieter weatherspoonsy type place. You know what your getting every time. Having said that. The food I would say is a better standard. The pic is of some sort of burger, calamari and onion rings. I often order too much but still power through. I'd also recommend the tapas menu as the dishes I've tried on it have all been great.

My friends and I visited The Bank after a bad meal in another establishment and realised what we already knew: The Bank is the only place we need to go! Always a warm and friendly welcome, the bar staff and serving staff are never anything but polite and good humoured, and the food and drinks are really good and great value. Thank you for making our night so much better than it started!

Lively city-centre pub, made even livelier by the England football fans. Friendly service, very good range if keg lagers and beers, plus a real ale. Conveniently situated by the Theatre Royal and two car parks.

I came in for food and drinks after work the other day, the staff were so friendly, helpful and accommodating of my dietary requirements. The atmosphere was great and I really enjoyed my time at the bank would definitely recommend to friends and people visiting the area!

Went there with friends for a catch up and have a bite to eat. The bar staff were very friendly and managed our bar orders in good time. Unfortunately, the food was very basic and, like other pub food served in Plymouth, seemed to be pre-cooked and quickly reheated to order. Most of it was very dry and lacked any real taste or texture. One other thing that did nark us off a bit was that we had been drinking wine at £5 a glass only to be told that we could have bought the same wine by the bottle for only £12 - thanks for not telling us that earlier! Don't know when we will go back to the Bank again.

I like this place a lot! Great lay out on multiple floors and a good feeling with all the dark woods and decent seating! The loss of the 5th star 🌟 was because the bar was really dirty and smell of sick in the toilet!

What an absolutely amazing place, this has to be my absolute favourite place to eat and drink in Plymouth easily. What an absolute gem!! I genuinely cannot recommend this place more if I tried!! We were struggling to find anywhere to eat yesterday after getting stuck in the rain with my little one, we was overjoyed to be able to walk in and be welcomed after so many restaurants turned us away. All the staff members were incredibly kind and courteous, the customer service is really superb, we were regularly checked on to see whether we was okay. It was table service due to the pandemic but we didn't have to for anything really, we was given condiments and a highchair without asking and staff would always take our plates and glasses very promptly too. Our drinks were very very tasty, i happily sampled the cocktails, the presentation and taste was perfection. And our meals were incredible!! For the price we paid the taste and quality far surpassed this, everything was cooked perfectly, I really enjoyed the vegan meal and my partner stated that he had never enjoyed a mixed grill ever as much as the one he had yesterday, it really did look good though. This place honestly is worth a visit, its quite centrally located so not much of a journey and there is parking too, the staff and very friendly and happy with probably the best customer service I have ever experienced and the food and drink quality is faultless, especially as the prices are quite reasonable too. Will definitely be visiting time and time again, thank you so much the bank 😊😊

What an absolute brilliant place to eat lovely food at affordable prices and enjoy cheap drinks as well . The building and decor , I presume was from its banking history hence the name . Beautiul wooden decor , large wooden staircases , eating areas and bar with a modern twist on the upper floor . Visiting my family in Plymouth from leicester it is our regular Sunday morning breakfast treat . Lovely friendly staff , very clean and welcoming atmosphere . Love it . Hope to be travelling down again soon and popping in for breakfast x thankyou . Steve R .

Lovely place to go for a drink and food. Plenty of seating both inside and outside the pub. Food on the whole is usually good. And it is pub grub. And again staff on the whole are good and welcoming. This place I do believe used to be an old bank. Which reflects this in the style inside. Beautiful woodwork and coloured glass partitions. Also a beautiful ornate ceiling. I do enjoy coming here to eat and drink. But a word of warning it does get busy. Especially as it's right behind the theatre royal. Well worth a visit.

I just discovered I have a wheat intolerance a few months ago, so always worry about eating out now ! They have a great system on a tablet here where you can click what intolerance you have then the list of you can have pop up. The staff where really helpful when explaining the system to me . I highly recommended it for anyone who has a food intolerance.

The food was ok, there app is weirdly only functional til 5pm so faffed around unnecessarily thinking it was needed then had to go to the bar anyway, if you're a fan of sports this might be more to your taste as all areas had massive tvs with football on, i was grabing some food on the way to something else so it fullfilled its purpose, but not a regular haunt for me.

The Bank has just had a refurbisment and it's been done very tastefully while still keeping the soul of the beautiful old building. The welcome from all the staff is as warm and welcoming as it always was and there's a lovely new menu. Highly reccommended for meeting up with friends and family, a bite to eat before the theatre or just to pop in for a relaxed drink or the footie.

Prices are moderate, the food is variedand well-prepared and the service is excellent. The place has a lot of seating and a comfortable atmosphere. It's just behind the Theatre Royal and a good place to go before or after the show, especially with a group. There are no downsides that I could see. A good pub with good food and pleasant staff. What's not to like :-) Update: there is now an substantial double glazed extension to the place, around the back. It's light and open, and complement the intake, but quite dark spaces of the original building. Take your pick. .

One of the cleanest, best kept Wetherspoons I've ever seen. Beautiful build g, well maintained, great ale. I had a mixed grill and was heartily impressed by the quality of the food. The fact you are not a Wetherspoons probably accounts in part for the unexpectedly high quality!]

I can highly recommend this place. Value for money especially Monday to Friday 12 till 5. They have a menu where some meals.are £6. Evening meals still reasonable. My partner also had the chocolate orange torte for dessert and said it was the best. Staff are friendly and helpful.

Had the most incredible meal their yesterday. I really didn’t want anything to heavy so opted for the salad bowl with bacon and chicken. So much on the menu looked lovely but I chose the salad almost disappointed that I had chose this but shouldn’t have, it was delicious. The chicken was so moist and the salad was stunning the dressing was beautiful. Jordan served us he was super polite and knew the menu inside out, he was able to tell what the dressing was without asking anyone. The place has really improved I’m well impressed. A long time since trying this place out, not too busy on a Thursday lunch time, limited real ales. On my latest visit, a Tuesday lunchtime this time, the place was quite empty, otherwise nothing has changed. Strangely outside the building is still completely different covered in scaffolding, not quite sure what is going on there.

Went for a birthday lunch with my friend today. Pre booked the table and on arrival had a warm welcome from the staff. The table was in a quiet area which we appreciated. When I ordered the food both of us have certain eating allergies which were more than facilitated by the kitchen staff and the server taking my order., couldn't ask for more. Another took the wine and water to the table as I I really appreciated. All the time we were there the staff were smiling and very receptive, so the birthday meal was a great success.

Although we hadn't booked the staff went out of their way to find us a table and gave us a 2 hour time slot ( more than enough time) you are required to track and trace and order from the app very easy to do although I did see a member of staff more than happy to manually take an order off a lady who didn't have a smart phone . I had the chicken fillet burger and my partner had mini chicken fillets and calamari the food arrived in under 15 mins and was piping hot and tasty a good selection of condiments were offered too. A good selection of beers wines and spirits are available at competitive prices as well as soft drinks. We really enjoyed our lunch at The Bank yesterday and will definitely be making a return visit

Friendly service. The food app wasn't great to use, so ended up using a member of staff. Booking a table online wasn't great either, so I ended up calling instead. The vegetarian sausage and mash made me feel ill and the gravy tasted bitter. My sister and friends enjoyed their food though.

I really love the atmosphere in this place. Usually go there with a girls on mid week for amazing and cheap cocktails! Can't have enough of them! Staff are very attentive and serves with a smile EVERY SINGLE TIME! Owner should be proud of his team! The garden is lush on warmer days and the location are great and the building itself is something else! Food is nice as well.

Ordering was very easy to do, and the food arrived quickly. The choice of real ales wasn't as varied as I like but there was something for me. The food was delicious and I was very impressed by their extensive vegan & vegetarian menu. The building was beautiful to be in, reminiscent of the heyday of the theatre. What I'd call a proper pub. The staff are friendly and the layout very easy to navigate.

A curious building with lots of character, one can clearly see that it would have been a banking. Food was great...awesome selection of vegetarian and a few vegan options too. The Bank has a very nice beer garden with great staff, when it's warm it's my favourite place to go during the only eating outside rule. The food is very nice too, I recommend the big double from their menu.

Nice old fashioned pub, currently under some refurbishment. Staff friendly and location convenient. Had the crispy chilli beef which was very nice. However if you're expecting seasoned chips as described in the menu you'll be disappointed. The only seasoning was the salt and pepper added by myself at the table. This has been the case on my last couple of visits.

A pleasant surprise since being taken over from previous brewery by Mitchell and Butler's. Having had bad experiences at other pubs under their banner we were very impressed by the The Bank. Great, friendly service and food and excellent value for money. The refurbishment looks great too. It's a beautiful old building that has retained its character and we'll worth a visit. We will be returning when next in Plymouth.

Good atmosphere - friendly staff - got very busy (was Christmas period) couldnt get a table for a while and when we did it was reserved but did manage to move to a different table half way through eating so didnt have to worry. Chicken wings weren't too great and very small wings but overall good atmosphere and portion sizes good too. We had a beef/chicken burger too, cant remember the name but that was enjoyed.

Lovely transformation, the refurbishment has really brought The Bank upto date. The food is competitively priced , extremely hot and has a varied menu. Our food came out very quick. We ordered sausages and colcannon and the fish and chips, both from the £5 lunch menu. It was tasty, hot and an ideal size for a light lunch. I would definitely recommend a visit.

The bank is a nice pub with an excellent outdoor section. It is in a lovely building that was (unsurprisingly) a former bank. Food was pretty good and competitively priced and I have no problem going there again. Not sure disabled access is fantastic, stairs at the front entrance, but big car parks all around it mean plenty of parking options.

Young lady I believe name Shannon showed us to our table. Said she would be back in a few minutes to take our order, which she did. Customer service fab, we where looked after so well, Shannon engaged with us made us so welcome had a giggle with us so much so we stayed not realising 4hrs later . Love The Bank, it’s a really nice place. I’ve eaten there lots of times and never had a problem, however I ordered the breakfast muffin today and was really disappointed. The muffin was rock hard, and inedible. I asked for it to be changed, the bar person replaced it, but unfortunately the second meal was just as bad. I was offered free coffee, which was strange because I’d already bought one and it’s refillable. Anyhow just wanted to say STAY AWAY from the muffins!!

Recently reopened after a refurb, I think they're still bedding in. Food wasn't up to much, and a long wait to get it. We're still waiting for the mayonnaise we asked for! Very good service, it was as busy as it could be due to social distancing. We had gammon & egg and pulled pork burger which was showing as lunch offer with offer with a drink but when ordered told drinks were not now included in the offer. Both meals arrived quickly and was enjoyable. There was Covid procedures as in social distancing notification, sanitizing stations, one way in/out, but No staff where wearing masks/shields and Only way to register at time of visit was if you only had smartphone with qcode, they would not accept written contact details citing data protection act!?!? So upto customer to remember to do it when go home. But overall very good experience and would visit again. ***NOTE- Old fashion till on display DOES WORK! Just like in Open all hours! 😀

The Bank is located just behind the Theatre Royal in plymouth. It use to be a very old bank still having it's original features. It's very charming 3 floors. Lots of seating. Also has a outdoor garden with seating. Not a wheelchair access as a few stairs to entrance front and back. As it suited behind the Theatre Royal great for a post lunch or pre lunch meal or drink. Great for groups or just dini g alone. Attracts a very friendly croud. Toilets downstairs and upstairs. Bar also suited downstairs and upstairs. They do lovely meals with great offers every day. They do steaks and skillet. Currys chilli samwishes wraps jacket potatoes. Great choice of deserts. Hot drinks soft drinks large choice of Alcohol drinks. Highly recommend this place.
