P. F.We went for the 1st time last Saturday(April 16th) after wanting to go for years but always being fully booked! Absolutely amazing! We cannot wait to come back! I had the belly pork, £15!! Well worth the money, was so good! Its all I keep thinking about! Lovely pub, friendly staff! All round amazing!

Place can be busy so suggest booking. Warm armosphere with good selection of ales etc although seems more of a place to eat in the evening than just have a drink.
Really good menu and a specials board.
Food was excellent. Menu said real chips but unreal chips is a better discription. Meals we had were 1st class and whilst portions are large they are well presented and quality couldn't be faulted
The staff are all really warm and friendly with a smile even when busy
Food cooked to order and so was slow coming out but well worth the wait.
Can recommend and if you are in the area really the place to go for at least one meal.

G.A cosy traditional fishing village pub. Good selection of ales, not quite so much ciders. Real fire makes for a perfect autumn/winter evening. Can recommend the steak and ale pie.

w. b.I have been coming here since I was a kid and now that I am 20 it is crazy to think Clovelly has never provided a poor meal or service.
Prices are roughly £14 upwards but it is worth it for the quality of the food.
You must book though as demand is high, even in the weekdays!
I personally recommend their fajitas, westcountry pork or Nasi Goreng if it’s on the specials!
The pub is child and dog friendly all year around and they usually have a pool table but I believe this has been moved for the Christmas period (I assume it will return).

Have a table flag, which you use to get service. Took a bit of time to remember that after you have been served to take down your flag. So ended up with a few waitresses checking if we needed service when we didn't.

We had food, the flavours were incredible, well presented & portions of a good size (perhaps a little on the large size). But for some that’s what they are searching for a good pub serving wholesome traditional pub favourites with a few surprises on the menu thrown in.
The staff were welcoming, friendly and attentive great to see the Chef speaking to his customers too. They clearly care & value their customers.
Highly recommend if you’ve not visited this tucked away gem.

C. L.Came here for a catch up with the girls after recommendations from friends. The food was great - large portions! Very tasty and a great variety to choose from. The staff were friendly it was a nice intimate pub which meant you could easily relax and chat, without it being too loud and not being able to hear each other. The only down side is the parking. We came on a nice day so the free parking at the end by the pub was full and the road is very tight to get down - but that also adds to the charm of the type of pub it is - I had to park at the top of the hill and walk down. But it wouldn't be enough to put me off going again! Unless it was raining! But would just plan in advance a bit more to get time for parking.
M. G.Atmosphere is excellent, like a traditional pub rather than gastropub. Partially due to excellent setting on the Turnchapel waterfront, but also thanks to the friendly staff and local clientele. Drinks are very good, with a great choice of gins and decent selection of beers/ales. However the real standout is the food. The menu is decently sized and with a good variety of traditional pub (steak and ale pie, burgers, fish and chips) and international (Thai green curry, chicken gyros, pork enchiladas) dishes. All of which are great quality and of huge portion size, making it a great place to visit time and time again. My favourite restaurant in and around Plymouth, would recommend to anyone.

We had Greek special if lamb in pitta bread with salad, seafood chowder, Sunday roast and Clovelly burger. Really tasty with homemade proper chips, big big salads and generous portions of veg. Well worth a visit with a very friendly service. Well served real ales. Don't eat the day beforehand as the portions are really big!!!

M. C.Always a good beer to be had, although the current run on Bays seems to be an exception. It’s probably just me but I just don’t get on with the base malts that Bays use. However this is made up with the plentiful supply of proper job. The food well it needs no introduction and you won’t go hungry.
