Our first visit to this superb establishment. The staff are absolutely wonderful, friendly, attentive and helpful, nothing is too much trouble. We were shown to our seats in a quiet area with plenty of space. We chose a roast turkey and roast beef Sunday lunch and weren't disappointed. The roast potatoes were crispy and tasty, along with a delicious Yorkshire pudding, tender and moist meat and to top it all, a large jug of beautiful gravy. We had an assortment of 7 veg in a separate serving dish, sublime! Once we'd demolished this we pushed ourselves and our stomachs to accommodate a pud too. We had chocolate and caramel profiteroles with cream and raspberry and prosecco cheesecake which were both delicious. All at a very reasonable price. Thank you Elburton staff, you've made our day and we will be back!

There was only 4 staff which included the chef, they were all heroic, and the food was served very hot and tasted fantastic. The place was packed and yet the staff were always polite even if rushed off their feet. Highly recommended this place. 👌

There were 10 of us for Sunday Roast dinner, the meal was lovely at least 6 different veg, Yorkshire pudding and stuffing whatever meat you had. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Definately go again.

There's no vegan options at all and they don't have any non dairy milk substitutes so no coffee either. Staff friendly enough though. Dogs allowed so that was good.

Sadly, I think the pub had lost some trade from the latest COVID scare, but our group of 9 'kept calm and carried on'. We all agreed that the beers, drinks, food and service were all excellent. The food was good value and the cleanliness couldn't be faulted. A perfect venue for our family get together.

Amazing pub to go out after work a lot of alcohol to choose from absolutely bangin burgers and don't even get me started on them onion rings had to take my belt off during eating and right after had to tell myself "all brought and paid for" but for real great place chill atmosphere and lovely staff members

Quiet pub and restaurant. Staff are very friendly and polite. Good service. Food is only average but good value for money. The pub, restaurant and women's toilet area are very clean and well maintained. I don't know anything about the men's toilet area as we didn't have any men in our group.

Excellent pint of Jail, excellent lunches (rump steak and chillies), excellent and friendly service. Totally recommended! Been going here for over 3 years now, never fails to deliver, excellently kept Doom and Jail, ever-friendly welcome. Love it! Again, excellent food, beer and staff. Love this place!

Nice First time visit, yesterday but we will be back, we were a party of 3 and all agree the food was good, and they were good size portions for a reasonable price. Jess looked after us and she was amazing, she was chatty and friendly, joined in our conversation and menu dilemmas, offered suggestions, and sold the dessert to us by vouching for the honeycomb cheesecake as she has personally watched the chef make the honeycomb and helped Taste test !!! she wasn’t wrong it was lovely. It wasn’t particularly busy as it was a Monday, but Jess was attentive without constantly watching over us. The area was kept clean and tidy and there was plenty of space for each table which is nice and comforting, we have not been eating out as much lately, but we will definitely be back. Thank you Jess. Had a lovely 2 course lunch here on our first visit. Tasty fresh cooked food and plenty of it, had hunters chicken followed by sticky toffee pudding. Great service by the friendly staff. Would highly recommend.

Great pub! The owners and staff are lovely and keep us updated on developments/events online via Facebook or when we visit. There is usually a weekly quiz and they run theme nights for food with great deals. Always had a great time here. There is a fireplace and the pub is dog friendly apart from the diners only area. Currently there is lots of outdoor seating due to covid restrictions. (April 21)

I went last night for an evening meal with a friend. It was very busy but all social distance procedures were followed. The service we received from Abby was amazing even under pressure of the amount of covers. She smiled throughout and was very attentive, with a fantastic sense of humour! Food was delicious. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone local or visiting the area.

The Sunday roast is superb The waitress Lynda is an amazing person and the pub are lucky to have such a good employee, they're hard to come by and keep, well done to her as nothing was too much trouble.. Massive and huge portions of veg Great service and felt looked after and that they cared. Loved it and will definitely be back for more Great atmosphere in while pub. Popped in on the off chance for Sunday lunch, gone 3pm, not a problem, they had a Sunday lunch menu, I mistakenly picked something from the standard menu again not a problem the chef was more than happy to oblige. My wife had a roast of beef and pork, none of that see through stuff which came with a selection of 5 different vegetables including roast and mashed pots etc. Excellent food and fantastic value.. £7.50 for the roast dinner. Very friendly staff and a nice choice of beers.

Really nice atmosphere, great service, lovely staff, really really good food. We had a sharing platter to start and it was delicious. Hubby had a steak which was cooked perfectly, he likes it rare and rare it was. I had a chicken cesar salad which was really tasty and filling. Desserts were lemon meringue pie with ice cream for him and jam sponge with custard for me both of which finished off the meal perfectly. Portion sizes are spot on, prices are about average. Staff are attentive and give you plenty of time between courses. We will be back.

Only recently started popping in with my better half to enjoy a pint of the black stuff after a hard days graft. Enjoying the atmosphere and slowly getting to know the locals but most of all really enjoyed sitting bye the open fire on some of the cold nights weve recently had. I'm told the foods worth a visit too but not yet tried but watch this space ill soon let you know.

The first time I went there with a friend the new management had only just taken over and we were underwhelmed. Since then I have been back a couple of times (I live locally) and have been impressed with the best pub service in Plymouth. The beer is good if a bit limited in range. Food is tasty and reasonably priced. The place is comfortable and spacious, with nice decor. Parking is easy. The best pub in the area. Live music on from time to time.

The initial reaction to walking in was that I wasn't sure I wanted to eat there. However it had good reviews so we asked where we could sit for food. To our surprise there was a separate annex with seating that had a much more restaurant feel and immediately our concerns were put to oneside. The staff were friendly and attentive and after we'd been seated, served drinks and ordered food we watched other people's food arrive with interest. We both opted for the roast (it was a Sunday) and went with Pork. When it arrived I was underwhelmed at its appearance, but I gave it the benefit of the doubt.... to my surprise it was delicious. Yes the pork fat should have been crispy in my opinion but I couldn't fault anything else. There was a good mix of veg appropriately portioned for two to share, and the meal as a whole was satisfying. The apple sauce was yummy too - I don't know if home made. Then desert, we had a look at the menu not sure about having one but to our surprise two of our favourite dishes were listed! Pancakes and Apple Pie. We had to. Both were delicious. Overall very happy with our visit. I've driven past this oub for 15years and never popped in. The pub, not for me, the food was worth the punt.

Kinda fancy and a bit expensive, It has a large bar and It has lots of space to dine. The man serving was wearing a very crease free wite shirt with polished shoes. It's that kind of place but they serve pizzas!

Above average pub mainly due to its decor and well kept and served beer. The food seems expensive and is not worth the price I feel. The staff can get a bit involved in their smartphones and sniffy when asked to serve. There are better options outside of Elburton village. I recommend the Foxhound in Brixton village for beer & food or the otter nursery for food. I have regularly visited this pub for 40 plus years and seen the rise from a drinking pit to gastro pub, but are they losing their grip?

Very welcoming and friendly staff. Meals were substantial. My wife had lasagne which was apparently very good and I had fish cakes/ mozzarella cheese. Again good amount. A little on the dry side, perhaps a sweet chilli sauce would be a good acompaniment. Will definitely return.
