Great boozer. We had a couple in the Hyde Park and wandered down not expecting too much but really loved it. Stayed for a few and enjoyed a much cooler atmosphere than the Hyde Park. Staff were friendly and knew their stuff. Locals obviously appreciate this place and were a diverse and friendly bunch. Awesome pub. Well done all.

Incredible pub. Regularly go in on a Sunday for one of their roast dinners. Always friendly and efficient staff who always greet us with a smile and welcome a chat when they're not too busy. A real community pub with everything that defines 'your local'. These are the pubs the community should be supporting and are certainly the very last that should be under threat!!! This place is also heaven for ale drinkers. Don't be put off by the Greene King badge above the door. I imagine they always have to stock certain Greene King products but thankfully, they still have a wide selection from a range of local breweries which is great as they're supporting local businesses too. Did I mention that they're a serial award winner? Go see for yourself - you can admire the countless awards above the bar whilst you make idle chit chat with the fab staff and nurse a beautifully poured pint of real ale. Keep it up guys, great work! :D

It's a pub, expect a warm welcome, great staff, a huge range of real drinks, not always run of the mill pap. Sunday roast is adequate, tasty and large. A camera pub deserving it's title without doubt. The 18:00 Saturday meat raffle prizes are awesome. Thanks guys for being a great local.

Always love this place. So happy now restrictions are lifted. Missed the community side of this pub. It's so friendly and everyone talks to everyone. However nothing was taken away by the staff and the atmosphere during the covid restrictions. I felt very safe and everything was clean and the service was amazing and still continues to be amazing. visit at least once every couple weeks more if I can. It's just the place to be.

Back here twice Nov 2021having visited April 2019 when last in Plymouth. Really nice Victorian pub middle of Mutley Plain. Brilliant selection of real ales, also good lager selection. No food but apparently you can bring food in from outside. BUT now does an excellent Sunday Lunch! Very much a drinking pub but if you are definitely recommend it. And to add the music in background at just the right level is brilliant!!

In a good way 😁 It's two different pubs, a real old-fashioned quiet wooden-floored bar during the day but in the evenings can be packed and rowdy. Both versions are a good place to drink.

When this pub opened after lockdown. I was so happy. Although restrictions in place. It was still a community pub. The staff are amazing and so welcoming. I felt very safe with all the rules implemented. It was very covid safe. I can't wait until this lockdown is lifted so I can get back to my favourite pub. Enjoy all the drinks on offer. My first visit here and I was very impressed by the number of ales on offer, as well as the number of CAMRA awards they have. The staff were knowledgeable of the ales as I wanted a malty beer, and the one recommended was awesome. A proper pub with a great atmosphere and feel to the place. This pub is great if you're an ale drinker. If you drink ale this will get five stars all day long, I doubt there are many bigger ale enthusiasts in Plymouth (certainly in Central Plymouth). However, if you don't enjoy their extensive ale selection and the staff's knowledgeable banter on the subject, it is a decent but ordinary pub.

I quite like it but the wife wasn't to fussy about it but I think that was because of the band that was playing down stairs. Ideal if your other half doesn't like their music to loud a bit of me time.

This place is great! The upstairs can get quite crowded but there is always such a diverse collection of people. Last night there were even people dressed in authentic Viking and Saxon kit having an Easter feast. The bar staff are always cheery and up for a chat. There is also a great selection of beers, ciders and scrumpies, as well as the usual spirit and mixers

Top pub for a fantastic selection of beers and ales. I believe that they are Camra approved. It's a very busy pub attracting a good crowd of locals. The atmosphere is usually great. Chose here if you are looking for somewhere a little different. Prices are very reasonable and staff are friendly and efficient.

The Fortescue no matter what time of day you visit is an incredible establishment, the staff are all friendly and engaging with new and regular customers, for all the times I have been inside I have never once seen any trouble and the Alcoholic beverages are top quality and have never disappointed my thirst I have a few friends at the Fortescue called Keelan and Marrina who are both professional in work and a great laugh if your ever served by these two give them a thank you cause they deserve it working day and night and to everyone else at the Fortescue keep up the great work thanks.

Really surprised by this place. Was expecting it to be a bit of a dive but that could be further from the truth. Really well presented, a good selection of beer (we went there for the Spingo) and welcoming bar staff. The patrons of the pub were friendly and didn't mind 8 of us coming in at once.

Great selection of ale, and cider. Firm favourites of lager, draught cider, and draught bitter are also available. Lovely atmosphere, really friendly and knowledgeable staff, and noticed that there are events planned throughout the week. These included a pub quiz, a poker night, live bands, and a folk music session. They also serve Sunday roast dinner, which is superb. There is a darts board which is free to be used by the public (which I have), when there are none of the fortescue darts teams playing a home game (Monday, & Wednesday evenings). They are very encouraging about coming along and joining in with one of the three darts teams that they have too. There is a beer garden, with a giant parasol with heaters under it, which is very welcome on these cold evenings at the moment. A visit to the fortescue hotel is highly recommended.

The Forte's one of a sadly dying breed: a proper pub. If you want naff wine bar, a gastro chain pub, a sports bar or a restaurant posing as a boozer, go elsewhere. The staff are always on the ball, the manager is excellent, the beer is 10/10 and it feels like someone really understood what a pub goer wants from a pub when they designed it. A must visit for any serious beer lover.

Plymouth Roast dinner hunter #2 this place is great for roast dinner for under 6 quid meats good. Portion is good and comes with spingo beer gravy. For a little extra you can have xtra large roast dinner that comes with more meat. 10 roast potatoes 2 Yorkshire and nut roast . If your at a loss for good cheap roast head up here on a Sunday. Good beer and cider too.

Best pub in Plymouth. Yes, I do habe a personal bias, but it's a multiple award winning pub, more than any other pub in Plymouth. Sunday roasts only, but you're welcome to take own food in. Sooo many casked real ales it's a delight. Loads of real scrumpy too. Beer garden out the back and a cellar bar that can be booked for events. Darts team, cricket team, quizzes, comedy nights, live music, eclectic jukebox, poker tournaments, etc

A lively and entertaining place to go, friendly staff and customers, you can't buy food here apart from on a Sunday but you can bring food in from one of the many food outlets on Mutley Planet (that's what the locals call it! ) I wish I was there now in the beer garden in the early evening sunlight with a pint in hand and some good company.
